Can't Authorize or Deauthorize Itunes on Macbook

Okay, I thought I would change my Macbook's name from my full name to something else. I changed it in 2 places on the computer and thought everything was fine. Then when I synced my Ipod Touch everything synced fine except it removed all of the applications and a popup said I was not authorized to use them on this computer. They are in a folder on the computer under Itunes. I changed the name of the computer back to the original name, have repaired permissions on the Macbook and restarted the computer but it still won't work. I have tried to Authorize and Deauthorize the computer through Itunes but I get another popup saying that the directory can not be found or has a permission error and to fix the permissions or deauthorize the computer.
I have no problem connecting to the Itunes store.
What do I need to do to fix this?

I downloaded and reinstalled Itunes and was able to authorize the computer again with Itunes only showing 1 computer authorized. I don't know what happened but was glad it worked and none of my music, apps or anything else was lost.

  • Updated to OS 6 on Ipad, can no longer sync to ITunes on Macbook

Tried to sync Ipad 2 with my Itunes recently however pop up box says I have to upgrade to Itunes 10.6.3. on my Macbook. When I try to upgrade Itunes I am told it is up to date but it  is still showing 10.5.2 version. Is this because I am running OS 10.5.8 on my Macbook? I noticed in order to upgrade to Itunes 7 I have to have OS 6 or higher on my Macbook. This is all a pain. So now I have to go out and buy the new version of OS whatever for my Macbook because I was stupid enough to upgrade to OS 6 on my Ipad? (Thank god I didn't upgrade to OS 6 on my Iphone yet). What's the deal. Help? Just want to sync my Ipad to my MacBook Pro (vice versa). Thanks.

  • I can't authorize or deauthorize in my new Imac and I can't open my playlist

I bought an Imac for home and I transfer completely my account, my library, files, etc...But a the the moment to sync my ipod appears a message that indicates "error you permit or authorized" at the moment that I want to authorized simply I can't also I tried to Deauthorized the result the same. I saw my sidebar a there's not my playlist just my library...What Cain I do to configure the iTunes in the new mac...

If you search the web for Bluetooth issues with IOS 6, you'll find that quite a few stereo and automobile makers produced head units with bad BT programming. My understanding is that they built them to work with the existing iPhone (at that time) but did not build in full conformance with the BT standard which is fully backward-compatible. Apple went to the newer BT and these units stopped working. It's an issue that the car and stereo makers need to fix (and some are doing so with firmware updates).

  • Tried all known fixes, can not authorize, bye bye Itunes store

recently had to reinstall my system files on my Mac, subsequently when I try to play my purchased Itunes I get the dreaded computer not authorized loop bug. Tried all fixes including trashing SC info, preferences and etc. nothing fixes this bug. So bye bye Itunes store, with on every unhappy Itunes/Mac customer.

You could start by upating your Mac OS from 10.4.7 to 10.4.11.
Since you no longer want to fix it, never mind.

  • Can't authorize iMac in iTunes

I recently deauthorised all my computers and am in the process of reauthorising the relevant ones.
In the 'Manage Devices', it says I have 2 devises authorised - my iPhone and my Macbook.
I am on my iMac and trying to authorise it.  When I click on 'Authorise this computer' it says 'This computer is already authorised'.
I am wondering whether this is issue is causing the iMac to not recognise any of the photos stored on my iPhone?
    TIA

Thanks.  Just tried that, and result was the same, ie 2 devices authorised, iPhone and Macbook.

  • I can't authorize my Macbook Pro with iTunes in order to sync with my iPad

I can't authorize my Macbook Pro with iTunes in order to sync with my iPad

There was an error storing you authorization information on this computer.
The required file was not found or has permission error.  Correct this permissions problem and try again, or deauthrize this computer if the permission cannot be changed.
That was when I was trying to buy the pages app.  The reason I was so I could store and use the ICloud between my compert and my IPad.

  • I can't deauthorize old computers because I can't authorize my new one

I used iTunes on my old Windows computers years ago, and on old ipods. I no longer have any of the devices. I broke down and bought a Macbook Pro. When I tried to use iTunes, I discovered that I could not authorize it on my new computer because I already had five authorizations.
I searched help and tried to deauthorize all of my computers so I could authorize this one. And there is the catch-22. I cannot use Deauthorize All because my new computer is not authorized...but I can't authorize it because I already have too many old authorizations.
Any ideas how I can deauthorize all my old ones?

  • De-authorizing itunes? Several of my authorized pc's have died, and have no way to deauthorize iTunes on them. Now I am unable to synch purchases on my Iphone to new computer with iTunes because I already have 5 computers authorized. What can be done?

Several of my authorized pc laptops and desktops have completely died over the years, and have no way to deauthorize iTunes on them. Now I am unable to synch purchases on my Iphone to new computer with iTunes because I already have 5 computers authorized. What can be done?

Deauthorise all to reset to zero, then authorize again.
    Following quote from Apple Support:
If you need to authorize your new computer and are unable due to already having five authorized computers, you can deauthorize all computers by doing the following:
Click iTunes Store on the left side of iTunes.
If you're not signed in to the store, click the Account button, then enter your account name and password.
Click the Account button again (your Apple ID appears on the button), enter your password, and then click View Account.
In the Account Information window, click Deauthorize All.
Note: You may only use this feature once per year. The Deauthorize All button will not appear if you have fewer than two authorized computers. If you need assistance on using this feature, please contact iTunes Store support via email (http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/store/).
