Can't backup Q10 with BB Link

I have done backups & transfers in the past, and now I can't. My Q10 is telling me it will force me to update to new OS tomorrow, so I really want a full backup first. Device connects, Link acknowledges it as "Connected" but no form of backup works. Full backup just fails. Custom backup says "No data available to backup" when I try to configure it. I tried on THREE different laptops. Two of them (one Win 8.1, one Win7) had BB Link already on them from the past. The other is a new laptop (win 8.1) with Link just installed today. All drivers seem updated. I really need to get this backup done ASAP. I tried reaching BB, but all they say is either come to this forum or contact the carrier. Verizon was less than useless since it's a BB.. Please help, I went back several pages and saw no solutions already posted.

Check whether you are installed the latest version of blackberry link on your system. If not then download from here and proceed for backup.Download link

Can't backup music with 7.3

I just downloaded itunes 7.3 and now I can't backup my music I purchased on itunes -- unknown error 261. Anyone know what this is or how to fix it?

Error 261 seems to be appearing all over this forum.

Can't Reload (restore) my Q10 with Blackberry Link !!!

Yesterday, I tried to use the security wipe feature to clean my device but it took too much time and then I pulled out the battery. Then, the device showed a message on the screen to connect it to the Pc.
I used these steps below to reload my device
1.connect my device to the PC
2.run the blackberry link software
3.go to the settings and reload
4.the blackberry link found my Q10 and asked me to restore it to its factory settings
5.a message shows"checking for blackberry device software update.." and the LED on the device turned green
6.last message shows"There are no Blackberry device software update available" with close option only!!
7.when I press on the close it goes back again and show the message which means I need to connect it to the PC
So is that means I can't retort my device if it is up to date !!

Can not sign in bbid to connect Q10 with BB link

Can I backup my phone but link to a new icloud account

I want to backup my iphone 6 from a previous iphone 5. That phone was linked to a different icloud account, will I be linked to the old Icloud account or can I use my new one ?

Unfortunately you will not be able to transfer them or essentially merge the account. The purchases are locked to that specific account. Best thing to do is just remain with one account because things can get confusing. Good luck!

Can a backup done with OS 10.5.8 work with any later OS like 10.8?

I want to upgrade my Intel Core 2 Duo Macbook 5.1 which still has the original 10.5 OS to at least OS 10.7 or later. If I buy and use Apple's latest generation Time Capsule via Time Machine to back it up BEFORE upgrading the OS, will the Time Capsule (and it's backup) still work once the OS is upgraded?

It should still be compatible with the latest version OS.. although don't quote me for Mavericks.
Be careful not to allow the TM backup to start a backup and overright the existing one.
Also you don't need a TC to do this.. in fact a USB drive will do a better job because you can then use a cloning software like CCC (free for a month trial) and create a bootable clone.. you can then also do a TM backup to the same disk.
Once you load new OS you can then use migration assistant to get your files back from either the clone or the TM backup.

Powerbook & iBook can't connect simultaeneously with D-link 300-t modem

After much pulling of hair I finaly got my G4 Powerbook to connect to the internet via my airport express through a d-link 300-t modem. This I achieved by changing the default ip address of the modem from 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.1.234 and configuring the airport express manually to be 192.168.1.233.
My problem is that my son now has an iBook which he can connect to the internet through the same modem, but we can't connect at the same time. I keep getting the message " 81.178.76.171 in use by 00:11:24:24:25:7d,DHCP Server 192.168.1.234" ( modem ip). Both machines configure IPv4 using DHCP.
I don't want to configure his iBook manually if I don't have to as he doesn't live here and I don't want to muck up his settings for other places he may wish to use it.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated

Probably no
You can set up a new location on his iBook which will not conflict or change his current settings.

How can we remove podcasts with broken links?

The organization I work for has some old podcasts (2011) listed in iTunes; the links to all the MP3s are broken. No one in the organization has any idea who posted these items in the first place, so needless to say, we have no idea what account they're linked to. We'd just like for those podcasts to stop appearing in iTunes -- is there a way to flag the broken links so the podcasts don't show up any more?

Ideally you should remove it, which would ensure it being removed from the Store (a cached version would show until they removed it) - however you will need the login to Feedburner to do this, which presumably you don't have. In that case you can only hope that the fact that none of the media files can be accessed will be sufficient.

Everytime you need to update the firmware it deletes everything in your player and you have to make everything you had in it all over again. I know I have to transfer everything again, but you have to make the playlists all over again and that's kinda hard...

Faith: To backup the files you can either sync or simply do a manual copy of the files to the PC. You might want to take a look in the Appendix of my?Nomad Primer which has some advice about backing up.
You can't backup playlists with the Creative software, but Notmad Explorer will back them up.

How do I restore files from TM backups with broken links?

I have Time Machine backups with broken links all over the more recent backups.
I get the message "The alias “xxx” can’t be opened because the original item can’t be found." whenever I click on one of the links.
I have made the backups on my external usb backup drive before before upgrading my internal disk to a larger one.
Two questions: 1) How can I recover the files? 2) What happened, how can I repair the backup if possible?
The sequence of events was: Made the latest backup. Apple ran extended diagnostics overnight at the store and did a reinstall of the OS (10.8.2). I passed on restoring the backup and went to an authorized service center and had them put in a new tera-byte drive. I deleted (in the star-wars display) the oldest two and a middle backup leaving the Aug, Oct, and latest Nov. backups.
Now I see 100's 1000's of bad links. If I look at the backup (just look) with finder I can see directories for July and Sept in addition to the ones I didn't delete.
It appears that the files are probably all there and I could recover them a few at a time if I poke around.
I am tempted to do this before trying to repair the disk. Yes, it will take me ages; but I would rather take the time than a chance at doing -Anything- that could even possibly make things worst. I can see 3 senarios and wonder if anyone can say what would be best. And by best I mean **Safest**.
1) Go in TM to the Aug backup that seems to have no (or maybe only a few) broken links and restore that; then move in TM to newer backups and restore one folder or file at a time on top of it.
2) Do the same thing with a restore of Aug but then use the finder to copy newer files from the backup disk to the new disk.
3) Do essentially the same thing; but do it all in finder.
Of course that still begs the question of what happened and if the backup can be repaired; but to me, that is secondary to getting the data back.
fyi- I have looked at the TM hints and debug-repair file. I realize I can try a repair disk but I am tempted to try to get the data 1st unless someone is Sure a repair won't mung the data more.

Can't "reload" a Z10 with blackberry link

I've done this many times but since october I still have the following error.
So I have a Z10 that I need to reload with blackberry link. I need the firmware to be reinstalled and most data wiped out.
I've done this many time on Z10, Q5 or Q10, it wiped the phone and updated it in the same time.
But now I still get that error.
Fist when I use "reload" it ask this.
it's normal
then when I click "get update" I got this
less normal
when I click "install" I get that error.
So now I can't use the "reload" feature and it's not devide dependant.
I tried and 3 different computer and 4 other blackberry.

I finally found a solution : autoloader!
Even if you have to be carefull about the file you launch, it's exactly what I wanted, an update with a wipe.

I do not mean the entire ITunes folder but, rather, the contents of the ITunes folder prior to September 29th. (90% of the media is missing, along with all playlists) The media that remains says it was added on 9/29 although I know most of it was added many months or even years earlier. There are no playlists listed at all, before or after 9/29. (I know for certain that I added non-iTunes purchased songs on 10/6 although I had not created playlists for them)
I have my iTunes folder backed up on both an external drive as well as Time Machine.
I run iTunes off of an ITunes folder on my computer rather than from the external, if that's what you mean about how I have it set up.
Is it OK to drag the entire iTunes folder from the external drive onto my laptop's drive and see if that fixes it?

The ntfs hasn't seem to be causing any problems, but I've always wanted to know.
in order for your Mac to write to NTFS drives, it needs some help by installing e.g. the NTFS 3G driver. apparently that or something similar is installed on your Mac already. preferably, it would be formatted for Mac but then windows machines would need to have e.g. MacDrive installed to recognize the drive.

How do you set up multiple users? Netscape use to let me choose which profile to start. Can I do this with Firefox and can I have email linked to each individual user/login? How?

I need help. i have tried setting up firefox before and since i couldn't accomplish this i had given up but netscape is so old and most sites cause it to crash, i need a solution. i have 2 main profiles and 2 different email addresses. any advice or help, even not firefox related would be great

Firefox doesn't have the same type of interface for the Profile Manager that Netscape did. You might want to look at SeaMonkey ''(which uses the same Mozilla Gecko code as Firefox has)''.
