Can't believe it is gone
It started with an iPhone..... then I saw Frontrow on an iMac...and I was convinced.
I changed all PC's, network equipment in the house to Apple. Today we pretty much have everything from Apple - including software etc.
I am a total IT gadget freak....so I write about this stuff and help hundreds of people to get better IT/media use in their homes.
There is not one individual - who is not simply blown away - by the simplicity, ease of use and cool interface of AppleTV and Frontrow.
Frontrow enables ordinary people to finally make use of all their media in an easy to use way.
This is what makes a computer different from just a computer. It comes to life ... it brings life into your living room/kitchen or where you have it.
MacMini/Frontrow/55" TV was what changed our family.... to finally having an easy way to enjoy recent photos, home videos, TV, movies etc.
It made all my many years in the IT industry pay off....meaning I no longer needed to spend hours setting up, copying the specific film/photos to a specific place for us to enjoy together.
Now it was as easy - as a click on a button.
So the computer was no longer a computer.... it was something for people... it enriched our family's lives.... it came to life with pictures, private footage and all kinds of stuff.
So this whole solution with iTunes containing all the media, iPhoto with the photos etc., MacMini, FrontRow and a TV is absolutely brilliant.
Its no longer tech stuff, it no longer requires an IT guy (like me) to make it work.
Its for ordinary people.....
So why on earth did you remove it? and made Apple the same as any other PC supplier?
Now - a mac no longer comes to life? Its just a pc with programs...
No pictures, no footage, no audio - at a click of a button....
I am so sad, frustrated and confused that Apple could remove their incredible advantage and key point of differentiation....
What will the future bring ... ?

Design View - Can't believe it's gone!
I have been using Flash Builder since it was Flex Builder. Actually, since flex was introduced. Once of the best features of Flash Builder over other IDE's was the ability to use a GUI to layout elements on the page. I just downloaded the trial version on Flash Builder 4.7 to see all of the new features and start playing with it, and that's when I noticed that there was NO Source/Design tabs. At first, I thought there must be a check mark somewhere to turn them on. After I could not find any settings that enabled the Design Veiw, I did a search on Google, and found out that it has been removed.
REALLY! OK. I have read peoples comments saying that if you are a Real programmer, you don't need it. Well, if I am a real driver, I really don't need leather seats and Air Conditioning either. The Design View was what set Flash Builder apart from other IDE's! And you got rid of it!?
Well, this is one developer who will not be upgrading to 4.7, when I could just use a free IDE to get the same results. Adobe, if you really care about your END USERS - The people that actually use your products, don;t change things that made your products what they are! When something works, don't fix it!
I can not imaging Flash Builder ever seeing a Version 5 if the Design View is not brought back.
So, hey... Adobe management - it's your lively hood because it's us developers that use your products that pay for your new releases that keep you in business. You have to show me why I should spend the $250 to upgrade when there are many FREE products out there that will now do everything that 4.7 will do. I just don't get it.

Online InnovationsI guess that when they set at the round table, and discussed what it would mean if they removed the Design View, they must have though... nevermind, I have no idea what they were thinking. All I know is, I love Adobe Products, I have purchased the CS suites since CS2, and I have been using Flex since it was introduced. Design View, however such a "small" part of the overall Flex concept, is a very important part. The concept was to have an environment that allowed you to write code (actionscript) and bundle that with a user interface (Flash) and build these applications quickly (RAD). Sure, Flash Builder will still allow you to develop the coding part quickly, but the Design View was the key that tied it all together, allowing you to create the backend (code) and the front end (user interface) quickly. I do not care that you are a fabulous coder that feels they are so good that they do not need a design view. I want it, and I am the one who is buying it.
So, I guess Adobe must have felt there where enough people that will still buy the 4.7 and beyond concept to keep it alive. I feel... it will not be me.
Adobe, I really like your products, But this is something that really needs to be re-thought. Who ever the person was that made the decision to get rid of this, you need to now make the decision to let them all go. Because they effectivaly killed Flex for many many people.
I hope you figure all of this out soon, because we will continue to use 4.6 for a little while. Then, we will start to change our development practices. Are you wanting to push people back to Flash Pro? Well, this may be the way we have to go and forget about Flex. I hope this will not be the case, but we will see.
Adobe can make the decision to not listen, and I can make the decision to not spend. Last I understood, they were in business to make products they can sell. So, I know I will still be here with my money, even if Flex falls to the side. -
840 pounds to fix my Mac! I can not believe in Apple anymore
I have used iphone, ipad and quite happy with Apple for a long time. Then, I bought a brand new Macbook air 2014.
Last Saturday, my friend drop some water on the face of my Mac ( when i am closing it down, and no liquid fell into my keyboard). So how can i think someworkng will happen?)
In Sunday, i tried to turn it on but nothing happen. Therefore, I brought it to Genius Bar- Covent Garden to ask for a help. Surprisingly, they suggest I should go to Istore to fix this and ignore to help me open it out to dry things ( U know that it is quite harmful that u leave it for a long time)
I had to book an appoitment so I came back to my home in Southampton. The Genius Bar Southampton said it is 840 pounds to fix- much more than buying a new one.
i Bought it for 3 months. So i lost everything after 3 months, and Apple did not help me to reduce the harm, Macbook is quite sensitive with water, they said that water destroyed my mainboard, hardware, keyboard( no water drop to it? just in cover) It is quite a nightmare!UPDATED: my friend just fixed it out in 30 minutes and cost 0 pound. Can u believe that, my Mac is now run smoothly. He is working in computer engineering, and i dont have to pay money for any mainboard, keyboard, hardware,..He said that just a chip went wrong and it takes 30 minutes to fix it.
I am sorry that I have not expressed my opinion in detail. I already known that it is neccessary to pay money to fix because liquid is not guarantee in Apple 1 year polIcy. But i am not happy about Apple attitude to help me fix my problem. AND the cost is EXTREMELY high, now i cost 0 pound to fix it. And do not have to change anything.

Recharging my iPod shuffle (3rd gen.) on my 2009 iMac (OS 10.5.8) goes extremely slowly (via usb port at the back). This is mainly because recharging stops when my mac goes to sleep. I just can't believe that Apple doesn't have a sollution for this, but I haven't found it yet... What's the most efficient way of recharging?
Purchase a wall charger for it instead.

When recently synchronising my iphone it suggested to uograde to latest software. Now none of my sounds can be changed. Have gone to setting and tried to edit but the only sound I get is Marimba despite a different ringtone being selected?
I also lost my ringtones. I have spent about $100 dollars on ringtones to apply different songs to different callers...and now i can't find them.

I have read the posts and can't believe it, someone needs to tell me again. I have an 8th grade student who just bought and brand new iMac G5 and it doesn't work with FCP 4.5, can this be really true? These kids don't have jobs and can't afford a copy of FCP 5. I just need this verified...
Apple didn't release it. Thier stance is upgrade to FCP 5.

Can't Believe Catastrophic Failure Not Mentioned
I've looked at every post for 20 pages and I haven't found the answer to this very basic question.
Suppose you have used time machine to an external drive (Time Capsule for me) and the iMac you are using dies (dead, dead, dead). So, you buy a new iMac and you want your files back from Time Machine. I have a new iMac, it already has Leopard installed and now I simply want my data files back (I don't need the operating system and I never backed it up).
Apple basically ignores this scenario, yet it must be EXTREMELY common. I found one link that says just name your new computer exactly the same name as your dead one but don't use any apostrophes or blanks. However, OS X actually named my computer (like: Zach Smith's Computer) in file sharing. Yep, with an apostrophe and blanks. Here is the link:

So, I guess I name the new computer the same "illegal" name as the dead one? There must be a simple way to access the Time Machine file with a new computer and just restore data files. I can't believe this is so difficult. Remember, it's not if your machine will die, it is WHEN your machine will die.
Will someone please help me out? And, what about the OS X problem of naming the computer in defiance of their own rules. I know you can change it, but how many folks actually think that Apple would default to an unrecognizable name for TM?

I didn't mean any particular fashion. The Time Machine drive is an external drive like any other.
I didn't know you could access files inside the "sparse bundle" folder this way.
There should be some way to access those files. Try double-clicking it. It will probably just ask for a password and mount it as a new drive. Then copy your file over.
That is what makes Time Machine a very good backup system. You don't need Time Machine to restore your files. You can use Time Machine and they provide a fancy interface, but it isn't required.
Would it kill Apple to let us know this?

The new iOS 6 is draining my battery so fast I can't believe it. Any ideas?
I can't believe how fast it's draining my battery. Seriously they have to fix this or let us downgrade. 4 s doesn't get 4 G like the i5 so we shouldn't have this bad of a battery drain. If I knew it was going to be this bad I never would of upgraded. Now I'm going to but the battery case but apple still has to do something about this. Anyone have any ideas or opinion on this?
Totally agree. My battery last 2-3 hours, even after I turned off location services, location services, auto-brightness, and a million other things. APPLE, PLEASE COME OUT WITH A FIX SOOOOON or else I'm switching phones. I need a phone to last at least a DAY for emergencies, etc. PLEASE, we're begging you! Any other ideas? My iTunes on my phone also doesn't play my songs right away...it takes like a minute to load and play a single stinkin song! So lame

Ive gotten 3 responses from you guys. But still no help. Can't believe it's taken this long for apple to respond to this issue and I'm very disappointed that all I did was take precaution from left to my account info and my account has been disabled since. Sad that we can't do any updates to equipment I've spent so much money in. Hope this is resolved real soon.
Who exactly are you addressing this post to? And what exactly are you posting? We are just users like you, and have no idea what you are referring to. If there is something you would like to ask - user to user - please do so. Otherwise, you are wasting your time complaining about Apple, since we are not Apple.

After this 1.0.7 OS upgrade yesterday my PB still will not open TXT or HTM file attachments, Bridge files will not recognize MUSIC or VIDEO files on the PB or my PHONE. I have previously filed a support claim about this to get it corrected and each time RIM ends up sending me a link to a page saying these files are not supported. Well, I went to support to file another claim about the above problem and I get the following message!

Why did my camera flash and flashlight quit working on iPod 5 I did a complete restore just to see and still nothing have only had for a week so I can't believe it would be broken already any ideas
If you restored to factory settings/new iPod via iTunes (Not via Settings>General>Reset>Erase all Content and Setting) and still have the problem that indicates a hardware problem.

My computer broke and I got it fixed. It doesn't say that the hard-drive was replaced, but I can tell my data is gone, including Pages that I bought. Is there any way of getting that without paying for it again?
Or if you purchased Pages as part of iWork on a disk, reinstall from the same disk.

Can't believe how easy to problem was to solve!
I can't believe how easy it was for me to solve my really worrying dilemma. My iPod wouldn't play the videos which were put onto it and it turned out that all I had to do was change the TV output setting to off! And then it gloriously worked (followed by me running around to house in exctiement, relief and happiness!!) Thanks to everyone who tried to help. I still cant get over how easy it was to solve! All this worrying over something so small lol

Why aren't "Video Settings" listed in "iPod -> Settings" menu!!!! That's horrible design. They must have hired someone from Microsoft to write that module!

Can't believe that I can't run music videos simultaneouslly on ipad. ust spent 2 days trying to do it. Downloaded 2 Apps but they just keep freezing. Come on Apple this must be easy to fix!

other then that it's unclear what you are trying to do or if it's 1 or 2 things
playing music videos simultaneously would imply you trying to play more then 1 at once, this is not something it support out of the box I'd say.
then there is the 2 apps, are you refearing to apps which should let play many music videos at once?
and do they freeze when you try to download them, or when you try to start them,
and maybe the name of the apps, in question would make it easier for people to help. -
I had a girlfriend buy me an ipod for my mom's music at her Celebration of Life and someone took it. Is there a way to track it down? She did register it. I can't believe someone did this to me on one of the worst days of my life.
Unfortunately, unless you set up an iCloud account on the iPod and turned on Find My iPod before it was stolen, no. Even if you did do that, there are many ways it could fail (for example, the thief could wipe it clean or not try to connect to a network or the network's location might not be known). But, you could try it by logging in to iCloud and using the Find My iPhone applet.
