Can't bring an application to focus

This happens to me every once in a while (maybe a couple times a month). I'll click on an application window that is open and it won't come to the front or receive focus. If I click on the application icon that's in the doc it will open the Applications folder where the app lives, rather than bring that application to the front.
The system isn't hung, no spinning ball, whatever application still has focus works fine and receives input etc. I just can't get anything new to be the frontmost application.
I've found nothing consistent about what causes it, nor have I seen a pattern as to what the frontmost application happens to be when it occurs. Sometimes it's Mail, sometimes Safari, sometimes iTunes, etc. The only way to fix it is to reboot. Has anyone else seen anything like this?
I'm running Tiger with the latest updates on a dual PPC G5 desktop.

I seem to have to same problem, although up until now it has only happened with the Finder.
I have the problem on a iMacG5 PPC thats been running for little over 2 years, without any problems. And a few days ago I got a new MacBook and tonight the Finder didn't get focus when I clicked the icon on the dock!
Really a weird problem. I've tried trashing the com.apple.finder.something file. I thought it helped, but it didn't.
Any suggesting is appreciated.

Okay, I found NativeWindow.orderToBack(), and it seems to
send the window to the back of the entire desktop display stack...
seems to be what I want. Am I missing something?
I intentionally leave the window in fullscreen mode, which
means when the user exits the browser/app that is now over top of
it, they are back to their presentation in fullscreen mode. Now if
only AIR could open those .pps files directly without the browser,
and it would be perfect.

Hide application and can't bring it back

Please excuse me if this issue has been covered before, but I'm having a problem when I hide Photoshop CS3 in 10.4.10. If I choose to hide the application, there are times when I can't bring the application to the foreground again. I've tried various techniques to bring the application back up: command tabbing, clicking the icon in the dock, clicking the .app itself. Nothing but a Force Quit will work which is really frustrating when you have a document that hasn't been saved. Many times, it seems that this happens while the document I'm trying to save is in the process of saving and then I hide PS.
Has anyone else experienced this?

This happens to me all the time. It happened in Photoshop CS2 in Tiger, in Photoshop CS3 in Tiger, and now CS3 in Leopard as well. No matter how careful I am I still lose unsaved work in PS at-least twice a week because of it. It's driving me nuts.
You aren't alone. Anyone have any ideas how to Un-hide the app after it's gone away like this? I've even gone so far as to quit every other running app, and then force quit the Finder, figuring that if Photoshop was the only thing running, it would come to the foreground. No such luck.
InDesign has similar problems, but since Indesign has an autobackup feature, I rarely lose work there.

Only if you backed up the phone before that and did not back up after that. App settings and data are part of the backup. But all other data will be set back as well, you can't choose a single app to be restored from the backup.

It sounds like you are unable to see your contacts in the phone, but have confirmed they are still at http://www.icloud.com. I would next try these troubleshooting steps from the article named:

If you're using iOS 7, quit and restart the Contacts app on your iOS device:
Press the Home button twice to see preview screens of the apps you have open.
Find the Contacts preview screen and swipe it up and out of preview to quit the application.

Turn iCloud Contacts off and back on:
Tap Settings > iCloud.

Bring Open Application to Current Space

Is there a way to bring an application to the current Space?
Situation: I'm actively working in Space A and I need to access information from an application that is in another space, Space X. I can easily enough click on the icon in the doc to switch me to that space and application. However, I would like to option to bring that application to the current window.
Has anybody out there come across a way to do this?

There are several ways to move a window into another space. Here are two:
In the all-spaces view (F8 by default), you can arrange windows into whatever space you want.
Or... go to the window you want to move. Grab the title bar to move it and shift spaces (Control-Arrow, for example) while holding the window. The window will move along with you as you cycle through spaces.

The following article provides some useful troubleshooting that can help get your iPhone's camera working correctly.
Camera isn't functioning or has undesired image quality
If the screen shows a closed lens or black image, force quit the Camera app.
If you do not see the Camera app on the Home screen, try searching for it in Spotlight. If the camera does not show up in the search, check to make sure that Restrictions are not turned on by tappingSettings > General > Restrictions.
Ensure the camera lens is clean and free from any obstructions. Use a microfiber polishing cloth to clean the lens.
Cases can interfere with the camera and the flash. Try gently cleaning the lens with a clean dry cloth or removing the case if you see image or color-quality issues with photos.
Try turning iPhone off and then back on.
Tap to focus the camera on the subject. The image may pulse or briefly go in and out of focus as it adjusts.
Try to remain steady while focusing:
Still images: Remain steady while taking the picture. If you move too far in any direction, the camera automatically refocuses to the center.
Note: If you take a picture with iPhone turned sideways, it is automatically saved in landscape orientation.
Video: Adjust focus before you begin recording. You can also tap to readjust focus while recording. Exiting the Camera application while recording will stop recording and will save the video to the Camera Roll.
Note: Video-recording features are not available on original iPhone or iPhone 3G.
If your iPhone has a front and rear camera, try switching between them to verify if the issue persists on both.

OS 10.6.4 losing application window focus across a bunch of apps

My iMac (10.6.4) has started doing something odd - it loses the application window focus in a range of different applications:
The application stays in focus, but the current window loses focus. (You can see in the 'Window' menu for that app when it's done it that no window has focus). It happens when you're typing OR when you're doing nothing.
It's affected at least Safari and iTunes, and i think, Entourage.
There are no unusual apps running that I'm aware of: at least from the 'Force Quit' menu.
Any ideas?
(I'm using wired keyboard and mouse, and have switched USB ports for each, just to test if that was the prob)

Bob: as you may have seen on the original post I did install the updates.
That got the programs starting again, but trying to be productive is doing nothing but cause more crashes. I haven't seen something this bad and annoying in years.
I tried to simply copy a graphic in AI and place it as a Smart Object into a Photoshop layer. AI immediately crashed and PS froze. Had to do a force quit on PS.
Next I tried to do a save as with an AI file and it crashed the program. I'm totally crippled and very frustrated--as is my client needing the work done.
Simply put--why are Adobe CS programs crashing? The patch didn't solve the problem and I'm seeing a rash of discussions about crashes. What's the solution? What's the best way to get a real-world Adobe person to help me?

So I think that's ok? For the rest, all I changed in the spry menu is that I multiplied the z-index twice (menu and submenus) by 10. But that can't be the problem...

Double-click on the home button to bring up the multi-tasking bar. Find the icon for the App store, hold it down until it wiggles and the minus sign shows. Tap the minus sign to remove it from the tray. Tap the home button to close the tray. Perform a reset on the phone. Hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. After the phone restarts, see if it works.

PS opened with the "Happy Birthday" type layer intact and with the smart object background layer. Of course, the LR edits, crop and vignette on the psd file were not visible in PS.
Because they don't exist there! They will when you render them.
I clicked the eye of the Happy Birthday to render it invisible.
I added a new "Happy Anniversary" type layer.
Saved the new revised psd file and returned to LR.
In LR, I still have only 1 psd file stacked with the original raw file, but now it says Happy Anniversary. Note: sometimes it may take a few moments for the new PS edits to appear. By selecting another image and then reselect this psd file tends to speed this rendering of the new image.
So where in all this is the LR edits you produce AFTER up created the layers after opening the layered doc in PS?
I now have a new card ready to print just as before with all the LR edits originally made on the birthday card including the LR edits, crop and vignette made on the original psd file.
And as far as I can tell, all those edits were applied in PS AFTER rendering.
If I send that psd file a third time to PS, I still have the smart object layer, and both type layers. I can add a 3rd type layer "Happy Easter" if I so desire and return to LR.
Again, the crop and vignette are seen in the one psd file in LR.
So...yes, I can have both layers AND LR adjustments including the original raw adjustments through the smart object background.
No, you have a layered file and you have instructions but the layered file isn't rendered with those instructions and doing so would flatten the results.

offline but its IP address is online and pingable.

Hi, Actually we tried fixing many different ways but the thing which worked was Built-in recovery Processes. Computer object that represents the CNO was deleted, you will no longer be able to create the computer objects associated with cluster CAPs.
First, you must engage a Domain Administrator to recover the deleted computer object from the DeletedObjects container in Active Directory. Then, after the object has been restored and re-enabled, you execute the Repair Active Directory Object process in
the Failover Cluster Management snap-in.
there was a possibility that the cluster configuration file located in the %systemroot%\cluster subdirectory would become corrupted and then have to be replaced. In Failover Clusters, the self-healing capability can help. If the cluster service starts on
a node and the configuration database is corrupted, a minimal configuration template will be loaded using information contained in the HKLM\System\CCS\Services\ClusSvc\Parameters registry key. The node will attempt to join an already formed cluster and, if
this attempt is successful, a fresh copy of the cluster registry hive will be pushed to the node. If a node cannot join a cluster, the cluster service will be terminated.

If you made a Time Machine backup before deleting the applications, you can recover them from your backup. Just go to the Applications folder, and open the Time Machine app, so you will be able to recover the applications just navigating through your backups.
However, there are some applications that won't work after doing this, because they require other system files. In this case, you will have to download the apps again from the Internet and install them using the installer

actually SAP Education has some rules.. like if you dont want to attend the training, you need to provide experience certificate certifying 2 years of working exp in the product or something like that. The best place to know that is SAP Education. You can get the mailing link from sap.com --> services --> SAP Education. They can provide you exact details, rules, materials, cost i.e. each information.
