I can't burn a cd from Itunes....If I try to burn a playlist it says i need multiple cd's and I only have 5 songs on that playlist. If I try to burn it anyway it doesn't do anything.

BTW have tried two kinds of disks, one kind of which I have a burned playlist from last year so I don't think it is the disks.

I can't burn a disc from Itunes without getting error 4280 repeatedly. I was just able to burn a CD and now can't burn another. Any thoughts? I know my CD burner works as I just made a disc. I have tried changing file type from Audio to MP3 with no luck. Thanks for trying to help me.

    Hello Sonni,
It sounds like you are unable to burn a disc with iTunes due to this error code. I would first use the following article to check issues with the type of disc drive:

I am trying to burn a cd from a playlist of downloaded itunes songs. When I click on the songs and then click burncd I get a message that this computer is not authorized to burn this song. How do I authorize my computer?? Thanks

YOU PROBABLY HAVEN'T ACQUIRED THE RIGHTS TO THE MUSIC AND HAVE THEM STORED AS PLAYABLE BUT NOT BURNABLE MUSIC. I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH YAHOO MUSIC AND RHAPSODY. IF YOU DOWNLOAD YOUR MUSIC FROM FROSTWIRE AND THEN BURN IT THRU ITUNES IT'S ALL FREE. AND WORKS FINE... I BEEN BUMPIN' MUSIC ALL DAY IN MY RIDE THIS WAY.

error message 2131 stops me from burning a disc from my recent iTunes download.  How can I get around this or fix this ......Windows XP.

The 2131 is usually related to out-of-date firmware on certain types of DVD/CD drives. But we'd better doublecheck that.

  • Appropriate  size  to  burn  to  Cd  from  itunes  playlist ?

I have just been learning how to make a playlist in itunes-which i want to burn to a CD.The problem is itunes help info says the Cd can be 74 mins long contain 20 songs and be as big as 650MB.But i have 19 songs which it says is 1.4 hours long and is 79.2 MB in size.Does this mean that i can continue adding songs (as it says it is only 79.2MB in size)-or is the length of time more important then the MB size ? In which case would i have to delete a load of songs in order to get it to the 74 mins itune help says it should be (to burn onto a cd).I am confused ! -any suiggestions would be most appreciated. Also is the quality set or can i change the quality of songs ripped from Cd's ? (as i would want it to be the best quality it could be)
    thanks
    rick

If you use 650 MB CD you can put roughly 74 minutes of music on it, if you ues a 700 MB CD you can get roughly 80 minutes of music on it. The size of your song files is a compressed size, iTunes will uncompress the files when burning so like HangTime says above, go with the time.
If you want better quality you need to rip at a higher bitrate or rip using an uncompressed format like AIFF. The trade off is that your music files will take up much more space on your hard drive.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Try changing the song format from AAC to MP3 (MPEG).
    1. Go to iTunes preferences ---> General ---> Import Settings--->Import Using: MP3 Encoder.
    2. Highlight all of the songs you want to burn. Once all are highlighted, go up to Advanced tab and click "Create mp3 version". This will create mp3 versions of each of the highlighted songs. This DOESN'T override the current AAC version, it creates a new version, which is directly beneath the AAC version (at least for me).
    3. Try burning just the MP3 versions onto a disc. When prompted as to what kind of disc you are burning, make sure you change it from Audio to MP3. I burned my a 2X speed.
I hope this helps. I'm replying because I was on this site because I JUST had this issue and fixed it the same way. So, it worked for me, and I hope it works for you. Good luck, mate.

  • Can't burn a disc from itunes.

I am trying to copy an album I have bought, for use in my car but get the message ' Burner software missing'
I have done all updates but can't work out what to do next.

Kathy, to answer that question we would need to know more about your hardware and software (processor, MacOS Version)- but perhaps the problem is that you are trying to burn on a CD that is not compatible with your internal drive or are using an external burner without the proper driver installed.
If you are using your internal drive, then check the kind of CDs you are using and try a different brand.
If you are using an external burner, you probably need to reinstall or upgrade the driver software.
To find out, which CDs you can burn with your internal CD/DVD drive click on the -menu in the upper left corner of the screen and open the "About" panel:
In the About-panel click "More Info" and (in Lion) click: "System Report "and inspect the Hardware details of your Mac. In the "Hardware" section of the System Report look for "Disk Burning" and you will know what kind of CDs (-R, -RW)you need to buy to be able to burn them.
