  • Can't Burn Audio, MP3's skip

    Hello,
I just upgraded to Itunes 7 and I can't burn audio cd's. My CD-R is listed as useable and I've used all of the troubleshooting options I could find to no avail. Anyone having this problem.......and what was your solution if fixed.
Also, it will burn MP3 CD's but there are dropouts on all the tunes. It does this in a variety of players so it is definitely a problem with Itunes.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
    Frank

I feel your frustration. I am having the same problem and we are not alone either. The itune 7 upgrade has somehow "messed up" my previous burning ability. My burner is recognized but the software is absent. There is no way to back up my library to reinstall and I've read the "reinstall" technique is a sporadic fix.

  • JMF-based applet can not detect audio devices on Vista (?)

    Hi,
As many people reported, I encountered the same issue - CaptureDeviceManager.getDeviceList does not detect any audio device on IE/Vista.
    Here is my testing environment:
HP XW4600, RealTek HD Audio onboard sound card,
Vista SP1 (Business, Home Premium, and Vista64)
    JRE1.5.0_16, JMF2.1.1e
A recording Applet runs in IE7 (which works fine on XP and its Java application version always works fine on Vista)
I have tried a number of things without success:
1)Use different audio formats as the input parameter for getDeviceList
    2)Try CaptureDeviceManager.getDevice(new String("DirectSoundCapture"))
    3)CaptureDeviceInfo info = new CaptureDeviceInfo(com.sun.media.protocol.dsound.DataSource.NAME,new MediaLocator("dsound://"),null);
    4) Vector devices = (Vector) CaptureDeviceManager.getDeviceList(null).clone();
    5)Uncheck UAC(Vista User Access Control)
    6)Set IE settings least restrictive
7)Try signed or unsigned recording Applet
8)Pack the recording Applet to a jar and deploy to JRE\lib\ext
9)Run JMFInit and copy the files in JMF\Lib to System32 folder
On a few occasions, audio devices can be detected. For examples,
10)Upgrading an HP XW4200 (XP machine with AC97 codecs driver) to Vista,
11)1/5 chance on the machines with both Sun JRE and MS Java SDK installed.
12)Trying Item # 9. it worked once on one machine, but after rebuilding the machine, the same trick does not play.
I am wondering if there is a way to let JMF-based applets detect audio devices on Vista or this is an inherent problem with JMF, IE and Vista.
I would appreciate it very much if youd kindly offer any help and suggestions.

I would appreciate it very much if you'd kindly offer any help and suggestions. >I suspect the basic problem here, is the installer that defaults to preventing the applet access to record sound (I am guessing that would 'spill over' into web-cam permissions). A quick test of that is to try the same code as an application.
If the application works, one possible fix is to launch the application using webstart. Webstart will work from a web page, and offers many other advantages over a standard applet.

  • Can't burn audio CD with new iTunes 7.0.1.8

I installed iTunes 7.0.1.8 and now I cannot burn audio CDs. I can only burn data CDs. When I try to change preferences under "edit" "preferences" "advanced" "burning" to audio there is not way to save the change. In other words, there is no "ok" button. It reverts back to data CD and the button on the bottom right remains "burn data disc". Any suggestions?

I'm having troubles, too. If anyone could help, I'd appreciate it.
    1) How do I manually delete my podcasts now that they don't show up in my library any longer?
    2) Also, none of my non-music items are showing up anywhere in my library as they are not music. Items like books on CD that I downloaded and are genres for audiobooks but the system doesn't consider them audiobooks. Please help!
    Thanks.

  • How can I burn Audio-CD's and .cue files on my iMac.

Since a few months I stepped over from Windows to iMac, I am satisfied I did that, but now I am at a point that I regret it !!
I tried for the first time to burn an Audio-CD on my mac, first with the help of the programs BURN and SimplyBurn, but I did not succeed to get a Audio CD that also worked on my Stereo set. Also trying to burn a .cue file was a dissaster.
I also tried Finder and iTunes, well the with Finder burned CD did not play on my Stereo, iTunes did not burn my music, maybe because it was not downloaded from iTunes, because the burn entry was not in the menu bar.
I also went to an help desk, but the gave me some unclear answers.
So you can imagine I'm very disapointed, not succeding to burn a simple CD or .cue file, right now I'm happy I did not get rid of my Windows machine.
Please a solution for this "problem" and what kind of burn programs can you advise I should use, and that I stay in the Apple communtiy and not go back to Windows ??
    JMGD.

Thanks for your answer. But I tried to burn an image with the program BURN yesterday, without succes. The file I tried to burn was a 350MB big file to a CD, BURN told me the file was 1.5TB big !!!! and did not burn it.
I burned it on my Windows machine with NERO and that worked !
Also today Itried to burn a normal Mp3 album to disk with BURN, without result, I got an answer from BURN telling me "One of the volumes on this medium is still in use" not nowing what this means !!

  • HT203164 iTunes can't find disc so can't burn (audio books)

Help! I'm new to ITunes. On both my Windows 7 laptop and Windows Vista desktop, iTunes can't locate the disc. I ran the CD diagnostic and it says "no audio cd found"....except all the music cuts appeared in itunes and asked if I wanted to copy them to library... The instructions in this help article don't work for me -- in Windows 7, in the IDE folder in Device Manager, there aren't any IDE controllers listed for the player. In windows vista, the IDE controllers have DMA enabled. both have updated software. HELP!

Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home Button at the Same Time...

  • Can't burn audio cd in itunes

I just started having this problem yesterday. iTunes will burn an mp3 cd just fine; however, when I try to burn an audio cd it says that there are too many songs to fit on one disc and there is only like ten 4 minute songs. Then I click to make multiply audio cds and then itunes only puts 1 song up there, if it will even put anything up there. However, when I try to burn the same playlist as an mp3 cd, it works fine. I have tried updating itunes, I have even deleted it and completely downloaded it again and it still will not work. Can anyone please help?

  • Can't burn audio CD - songs in this playlist will not fit on one Audio CD.

I have iTunes 6.0.3.5. runing on Windows XP SP2, fully patched.
I'm trying to write an Audio CD from iTunes, I used to be able to do this (before Christmas), but now can't. Even if I create a new playlist with just one track in it and try to write this track (whether an MP3 or M4P downloaded from iTunes store), it comes up with the message:
The songs in this playlist will not fit on one Audio CD. Do you want to create multiple Audio CDs with this playlist split across them? This will require more than one blank CD to complete.
Even if I select Audio CDs, it doesn't write them, it just comes up with the same message again.
I've tried this on my laptop too, same result, I completely re-installed my laptop (XP, everything) too....
I've tried it on my daughters PC and it * does * work ok (same version of iTunes)...
    Any ideas?
    Thanks
    Compaq S5600UK   Windows XP

If I use a different brand of CD-R it now works (found this suggestion in the answer to another similar question).
I was using Memorex which didn't work on my PC or Laptop, but works ok on my daughter's PC.
    Maxell works ok.
Why? Anything I can do to fix it?
    Thanks

  • Wont burn audio cd with vista

each time i load a clean disc it starts to initialize and then stops and tells me to load a clean cd!! it then flicks between 'initialising burn' and insert clean cd. i have tried loading earlier itunes but to no effect. i have itunes 8 in at the moment. anyone help?

my son is having the same problem. He has Windows Vista, when he tries to burn CD gets message that says "disc recording not found". I've read in a couple other forum threads that this is bug in the iTunes program that Apple has yet to fix. He finally transferred his music to Windows Media Player where he was able to burn a disc from there.

  • Can't burn audio CD

I know this issue has come up before, but I haven't been able to find a solution so I'm posting it again.
I was trying to burn an audio CD from one of my Genius playlists. I inserted a blank CD, then hit "Burn Disc". But instead of it burning, I got a message: "Disc burner or software not found..." I'm running the latest version of iTunes, don't have any other burning software installed, and have the Super Drive. Also, the blank CD doesn't show up on the Desktop, but recorded CDs and DVDs come up just fine. Not sure if it's a problem with my computer or if it's an iTunes bug.

    hi there,
i've been having the same problem as the above whenever i want to burn the message "Disc burner or software not found..."
the burning has worked before but i remember vaguely then whenever i inserted a blank cd a message from itunes player would come up asking if i wanted to copy my music files to the blak cd and it successfully does burn onto the cd . But now it does not.
I checked in 'about my mac', it does have a 'burn suupport' but then it has this (Apple Shipping Drive)
what do you think the problem is??
    would totally appreciate your help.

  • Qosmio G20: Can not burn CD's but only DVD's - power calibration error

    Hi
I'm having some trouble and i think it's very strange.
    I can't record audio or data cd's!
i've used sonic reducer, as nero, as windows media player..tried 3 different brands of cd'r and i can't burn audio or data files in any of those..BUT...on the other hand i can burn DVD'S...this is very strange right?
Ps: when i record with nero i keep having this message on the relatory of the burning process : "power calibration error" but only i when i try to burn cd´s.. dvd's recording doesn't have this problem
do i need to update some drivers?
please any help would be super or i will have to make a big trip to solve the problem on the laptop shop.
    regards

"Power calibration" - When burning a CD the drive tries to write a test signal to the disk to set the calibration of the laser. If it cannot write a readable signal, this is called a "power calibration error". The error message usually means that there is something wrong with the media.
Please try to use few different empty CDs (Verbatim, TDK, Maxell and others).
    Check also this page http://www.cd-burner-help.com/power-calibration.htm
    Maybe helps.
    Good luck!!!

  • APPLE -- are you listening? We can't burn CDs!

I have spent a lot of hours trying to burn an audio CD, to no avail. I just wondered if Apple had considered that people will refuse to buy music from iTunes if we can't burn audio CDs.
I'm desperately needing to burn ONE song onto a CD. I bought it from iTunes, but now I have to go and find the CD at a store somewhere. Do you suppose Apple will give me my money back?
    This is really frustrating!!!
(Oh,I've checked every help system Apple provides, in case you're wondering. Nothing works.)
    IBM Thinkpad   Windows XP

Did it all. Updated windows. Uninstalled iTunes and Quick Time. Cleaned out temp files, etc. Reinstalled iTunes and Quick Time. Changed burn speed to 4x. Used new discs of a different brand.
It ACTS like it is writing... goes through each song as if it is burning the CD. CD drive runs. Ends up showing the "finished" CD in the pane on the left in iTunes (just above the playlists.
However... the disc is still empty! Nothing on it when you look at it in "My Computer" or "iTunes" or Windows Media player. This is downright depressing. There is so much music... so little time!! Help!
I can import purchased CDs just fine, by the way.
Oh... and thanks for sticking with me on this. I know there are probably a fair number of people with the same problems...

  • Can't burn CD: error 2122

Compelled to post anew since I haven't found any answers in any of the old threads addressing this problem.
I have upgraded the firmware on my AOpen DUW1608/ARR DVD-burner, tried different CD-R brands, and still get 'unknown error 2122' when i tried to burn my purchased music. The same burner works fine with Nero and WMedia.
    Any answers anyone????
I have transmitted my CD-diagnostics to the Apple's "support" website - yeah, like that will help.
      Windows XP

Go to Aopen's website and download firmware from the dropdown list for your product: http://download.aopen.com.tw/
Here's a direct link to the exact file I used:
    http://download.aopen.com.tw/Download.aspx?RecNo=10311&Product=DVD ReWriter Drives&Model=DUW1608/ARR&Type=Firmware&DownSize=2224&fileURL=pub%2ffirmware%2fd vd%2brw%2fduw1608arr%2fduw1608arr_111.exe&Section=5&DL=yes
This is definitely an iTunes problem - like I said, Nero can still burn audio cd's in a blink on my same DVD/RW - but iTunes craps out with an error 2122. Needless to say, I'm going to find my music elsewhere and not going to waste any more money on iTunes or any other apple product.
Having said that, I did manage to create an audio CD in a roundabout way - Take the wave-out and capture the audio into a wav file (i did this using Audacity) - then I burned the CD from Nero. But it's too much trouble than is worth especially if you have a lot of tracks - and i'm not going to do it again. Goodbye to draining my dollars down the iTunes drain.
