Can't burn music CD's on Lion

I just upgraded to Lion from Snow Leopard and now I cannot burn music CD's in iTunes anymore.  I'm getting a message:  The burner is in use by another application in iTunes.  Does anyone have a fix for this?  Thanks, dh13mpro

Fixed. /Users/x/Library/Application Support/SIMBL/Plugins/AirKeysInputManager.bundle got corrupted by a badly installed safari extension. Deleting this, then reinstalling adobe air did the trick. I wasn't thorough enough on my first try, it was tricky to find everything associated. I had to look for files in the console log then search for them. Spotlight was missing some deep files, EasyFind worked better for me.

  • How can I burn music from my iTunes library to CD, while still keeping the track info intact?

I made several CDs for a friend, but when my friend imported the disc into iTunes none of the track names showed up (it just said "Track 1", "Track 2", etc.) This is annoying because it was 8 CDs worth of music (over 150 songs!)
Is there a software or any tool I can use that will allow me to burn music for friends, while still keeping the track info intact?

Yes.  Click on this link to purchase gift cards for your friends.  They will get nice new tracks with all correct tags.

  • I can't burn music, or get pass checking media

Sadly I've tried everything I know to get iTunes to burn a CD. I get the
playlist all set up, adjust the preferences, click on burn, then it opens
the CD tray, I put a blank CD-R in, then iTunes says it’s ‘Checking Media’
which it does for a few seconds, then it just stops - no error message or
anything. The little window that says ‘checking media’ just goes back to the
apple symbol and nothing happens. Any others ideas as to what i should do.
I'm just hoping that i'm not the only one with this issue. Thanks

What are you trying to achieve?  Are you trying to burn to disk via the iPhoto Share ➙ Burn menu? That produces a mini library on the disk that can be used only by a Mac running iPhoto.
If you want to burn just some image files to a data CD/DVD disk then follow Larry's recommended workflow.
What disk type and manufacturer are your using? What system and iPhoto version are you running?  Have you run the OS X Mountain Lion: Use Apple Hardware Test? When did the burning proiblem begin?  If you can't burn a disk from the Finder then it's a hardware or system problem and not an iPhoto one.

Hello, I sincerely hope I can get some help. I've tried ALL of the tips on here to get iTunes 7 to burn the music I bought to a cd but I keep getting the "Disc Burner Or Software Not Found" error message.
I am able to burn music to cd using WMP 9, (and nero fast burn cd plug in) and when I go to the advanced tab in itunes it recognizes my burner drive.

I've seen post in the past about updating your drivers & firmware fixing this...unfortunately I don't know a lot about that. Hopefully this will push your post up in the list & someone elase can chime in...or you can search the discussion and find more information on this.

  • Can't Burn Music CDs

I have been trying to free up some space on my 30GB ibook hard drive. One thing I wanted to do is get rid of all my music files (which are not plentiful) by burning them to CDs.
In my zeal to clear space I must have deleted something I need because itunes now says it cannot burn music CDs. I have no idea what I dumped that I now need. I am running the lastest version of itunes.
When I searched for disk burning software I was only able to find downloads for data CDs.
Anyone know what I did wrong and how I can fix it?
    Thanks!

  • Can't burn music cds lately.

I have a Dell 4550 running XP home. I have a Samsung SW-248F CD-RW x48x16x48. I have burned music cds in the past using Imation CD-RW 1x-4x discs with no problem. Tonight I tried to burn a music cd with the same type of disc to no avail. I tried burning an existing and a new playlist. Nothing has worked. This is very frustrating because I successfully burned a cd in the same manner just weeks ago. I have installed no new software or hardware since then. Anyone had a problem like this or have any suggestions? Thanks.

  • Can't burn music

I am new to itunes tried to burn cd for first time yesterday. I am on a network so I found my playlist on another computer in the office that has a burner, but when I try to burn a cd the burn key is not in the upper right hand corner there is a browse key instead. Am I just being stupid or is there a trick to burn cd from another computer.
    Thanks

You cannot burn CD's of your music from a different computer on a network. Networked I Tunes only lets you listen to someone elses music you can't copy files or burn CD's. Even though it is your music since you are looking at it on another computer you won't be able to do anything with it except listen to it.

  • Can't burn music I've purchased

Hi, I'm still not able to burn all audio CD's in Itunes. I can burn a CD through Itunes fine as long as it does not contain any purchased music.
I can play any song through both my Ipod and Itunes (whether it is purchased or not) so I believe I am properly authorized. The audioCD box is selected in under burning preferences.
The purchased songs do have a different format; it is MPEG-4 Audio File (Protected). I don’t know if that is of any interest.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you so much

  • Can't burn CD new iMac Mountain Lion

New iMac 21" 2011 model, Mountain Lion. When connect and use camera with USB port, everything works fine, but there is no disk icon for the camera and when I disconnect it says "not ejected properly" etc. And when I tried to burn a CD, I first put it in the superdrive and used Disk Utility to erase (it was a new CD-R). After erase completed. I clicked on "Burn" went through iTunes to burn some music, but nothing would be accepted (all grayed out). Again there was no disk icon to work with, which seems to be the trouble. Any ideas?

If you decide to calm down long  enough to actually check:
    1. you have to create a Playlist in iTunes in order to burn a CD.
    2. If you get errors, it is most likely one or both of these: a) cheap media (the Superdrives are finicky, buy quality brands - mine only likes Verbatim) or b) your burn speed was too fast - burn any CD or DVD as slowly as possible, it cuts down on errors. I've never had a problem using those two methods.
    3. So, which brand CDs did you use?

  • Can I burn music in my iTunes onto a CD?

  • Still can't burn music

I have been using the same computer, burner, and types of cd's for around three years now. It wasn't until the most recent itunes update (the one with the new desktop icon), that I haven't been able to burn cd's. It will start initializing, then a message pops up saying there is a problem and itunes shuts down. I using a Dell with Windows XP, but I also tried to burn on my lapytop which uses Vista and the same problem occurs.

Good lord ... that's the first time I've seen that show up in a burning context with iTunes 10.1.0.54. Usually it has been with importing and converting (when using the AAC encoding) and syncing to devices (when using the convert to 128 kbps AAC option.
What I've typically been doing with people with that is trying to get a version 7.9.3.0 version of the CoreAudioToolbox.dll onto their systems, replacing the version 7.9.4.0 of the dll that came with Apple Application Support 1.4 (which is included in the installer for iTunes 10.1.0.54.
We don't have as many options for doing that on XP as on Vista or 7. The following is probably the most practical.
First, uninstall your iTunes 10.1.0.54 and your Apple Application Support 1.4.
Next download and install a Safari version 5.0.2. That should install an Apple Application Support version 1.3.2:
    http://www.apple.com/safari/download/
    Now open the following folder:
    C:\Program files\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support\
There should be a copy of CoreAudioToolbox in there. Check to make sure it's a version 7.9.3.0. If it is, stash a copy on your desktop.
Now install iTunes 10.1.0.54 (That will update your Apple Application Support back to 1.4). Drag your CoreAudioToolbox.dll from the desktop, back into the folder:
    C:\Program files\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support\
... replacing the copy in there.
Try a burn. Does it go through without the error this time?
(If everything seems to be working again, feel free to uninstall Safari if you don't want it.)
