Can't Burn Photo Titles

Under the information for each photo, I put a photo name. However, when I burn the photos to disk, the captions don't show up. The photos only have numbers not the names I gave them. I then clicked on "View" and then "Titles" so I see the photo captions right under each photo, but still when I tried to burn a disk again, the captions are missing. I'm a travel writer, and I would like my editor to understand what each photo is about when the photo pops up on the disk. Any ideas, or is it not possible with iphoto?

Select the pics in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export. In the resulting window set the
Kind: to Jpeg and
Check the box at 'Include Titles and Keywords'
Then complete the export to a folder on your desktop. iPhoto will export the files with the Title as filename. Then burn that folder with the Finder.

Can I burn photos onto a DVD/CD for non-Mac users?

You can burn a plain CD/DVD by just dragging the photos there; but, that may or may not be playable by everyone. To be sure that the result would be playable in any computer or CD/DVD player, it would be better to use either one of the apps already on your system - such as iPhoto. I don't use that myself - I use other third party software - but take a look at iPhoto help. And, you could make it more interesting by creating a slideshow - also in iPhoto, or iMovie. To give it the final cool touch, bring it into iDVD to give it a polished look if you'd like. You can burn it then from any of the above.
If you happen to have Toast (an excellent burning app), you could use that as well (that is my preferred way to work). In Toast, you have multiple choices: burn a data CD/DVD for Mac only, for Mac & PC, etc, burn a picture CD, video DVD, etc, etc.

Can you play DVD movies on the drive? I ask because it is not uncommon for one feature on multifunction drives (like a CD-DVD drive) to stop functioning. There are actually multiple lasers in there for the separate functions. In other words the CD part can work fine but the DVD part go bad.
Is this an external DVD burner or the one built into the laptop?

Why can't I burn photo files to disc on my Mac. It shows "unexpected error code 0x8002006E

The two usual causes of this messages is poor media and too high a burn speed.  Try using a different brand of disk. Verbatim is the most recommended brand and a slower burn speed, around 4X.

  • How can I burn photos from an Aperture folder onto a cd?

I have searched for steps on how to burn photos onto a cd from a file in Aperture and I can't find any help. I take my photos in RAW and I upload them directly to Aperture from my camera. After making adjustments to some photos for a family member I wanted to burn the photos onto a cd but I can't find info on how to do this. I did find info on the internet on how to burn a cd from iphoto, but my photos are not in iphoto. I don't mind transferring my photos to iphoto, but I don't know how to do this. It can't be this hard to burn photos onto a cd. Can someone please help me. Thanks!

From within Aperture Export the images to a folder on the hard drive, then Finder-copy the folder to the CD/DVD, then burn the CD/DVD.

  • Can't burn photo's to dvd

    On my MBP. iLife 11.
I am trying to burn photos to dvd and getting the error message " the disc can't be burned because the device failed to calibrate the laser power level for this media."
    Anyone know what this means?

    Joe,
Thank you for the post and the link. I was having a heck of a time finding any posts related to my problem. I blew compressed air into the cd/dvd slot. Had to do it a couple of times, but then i was able to burn a couple dvd's. Had to blow air again and was able to burn one more dvd. Tried again, but still unable to burn the last dvd. I ran hardware test but it says everything is fine.
My new error messages is "the disc can't be burned because communication between the computer and the disc drive failed (error code 0x80020022)" ANY ideas on what them might mean?

  • Can i get Photo titles to appear?

when i open Photos on my old iPad (1), i have a list of the albums i created in iPhoto. when i open one of those albums, you just see the picture; is there a setting to get the individual photo title to appear as well (as entered in iPhoto on my Mac)?

What about the titles? I don't care about the file names, but I do need to show the  titles like in iphoto.
Is there an app that does it differently? I need to do something like the photos app does, but it doesnn't have to be the main photos app. And it needs to show the real titles. If the main app strips the name, I  need something that doesn't do that when it uploads impages. Maybe Picasa?

  • Can I recover photo titles after an accidental batch change?

We had about 20,000 photos carefully labeled and organized according to corresponding job numbers.
When iPhoto was opened today, all of the photos were now labeled with the same (recent) job number, a dash and then another unique number as the title. My assumption is that somehow all of the photos in the library were selected when a batch title change was executed with the box "Append a number to each photo" checked.
Does iPhoto create any kind of history for title changes like it does when you modify a photo? Is there any way to recover all of this lost information?
iMac   Mac OS X (10.4.9)   Intel

I'm not aware of any feature within iPhoto itself that would help you. But if you regulary back up your iPhoto library, you can recover the title data. They are saved in the file AlbumData.xml in your iPhoto library folder. If you find this file in a backup that was created before the titles were changed, you have a chance of restoring the titles. Now comes the hard part: you need to extract the titles from the XML file, and then use some AppleScript to put them back onto your photos.
There is some good information about the AlbumData.xml file on the iPhoto Library Manager site at:
    http://www.fatcatsoftware.com/iplm/Documentation/iPLM/pgs/albumdata.html
If you have a backed up copy of that file, I might be able to help you out with some code to re-import the titles. I have Java code to extract the titles from the AlbumData.xml file, and I have AppleScript code to import titles back into iPhoto.

  • Upgraded to Ilife 06 now can't burn photos to a DVD

When I try to burn a DVD in Iphoto I now get an error message. I have room on the DVD to burn it and it is a new DVD-R disk. This is the error message.
(The burn to the MATSHITA DVD-R UJ-825 DRIVE failed. The device failed to respond properly, unable to recover or retry.)
    Has anyone had this problem?????

    20inch 1.8GHz Power PC G5   Mac OS X (10.4.4)

I had the same problem attempting to burn 4.4GB (3800) of photographs onto a DVD using 10.4.5, iPhoto 6 and a PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-106D.
    Same error.
I had the same error with an external LaCie D2 burner as well.
However when I tried burning 800MB of photos it worked fine.
I then tried 3.8GB (3100) of photos and it worked fine.
How many photos (number and size) were you trying to burn.
What happens if you try and burn under 4GB of photos to a DVD?

  • Can't burn photos to DVD - iPhoto 5.04

    Greetings,
I asked this long ago, but has anyone succesfully figured out how to burn discs with iPhoto 5.04?
I've seen many discussions on subject, but has it ever been resolved? prior versions seemed to work fine, all I ever get now is the "Finishing Burn" dialog.
    Does iPhoto 6 resolve this?
    Any help would be appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Jim

how can I burn Photo to a dvd

    Hi Martha1963,
    Welcome to the Support Communities!
The article below will show you how to burn your data to a DVD using the Finder application.
Click on the link to see more details and screenshots.
    Disc Burning Quick Assist
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1152#learn2
Burning CDs and DVDs using the Finder in Mac OS X
Use the Finder in Mac OS X if you want to burn specific files to a disc.
Note: If you want to back up your entire system, you should use Time Machine (with a hard disk). Burning discs is a good choice for copying select files to a disc, rather than your entire system.
In Mac OS X, you can either:
Insert a blank disc, drag files you want to burn to the disc, then click Burn or choose Burn from the File menu. See this article for more information.
    or
You can create a Burn Folder named with what you want your disc's name to be, fill it with content you want to burn to disc, click Burn when ready, and insert a disc when prompted. To create a Burn Folder, in the Finder choose New Burn Folder from the File menu.
    Cheers,
    - Judy

  • Can't burn to a CD - "Disc Full"

When I insert a blank CD and try to burn photos from iPhoto, iPhoto tells me that the disc is full and doesn't allow me to continue. This occurs even with brand new discs. I can, however, burn photos to CDs from Finder. Any suggestions?

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Are you able to burn a CD from another application or the Finder? If so then try deleting the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your User/Library/Preferences folder.
If not, how much free space do you have on your boot drive?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.≤br>
Note: There now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.
