Can't buy TV shows on Touch?

I want to purchase and watch a TV show on my iPod Touch (1st gen). I go to the iTunes app (pink icon), and search. No TV shows are returned in the search results. I KNOW these are for sale in the iTunes store — why can't I buy them from the Touch?

It is made by the copyright holding music or television companies and is part of the contract with the recording artist or program producer. They make the decision as to what territories are distributed to and what territories are left out.

Can't use Apple ID to buy TV shows on iTunes?

I tried to buy and download a British television series through iTunes, but it said I'm not authorised to download it with my Swedish Apple ID. It switched me over to the Swedish Apple Store, where the tv show is not available. How can I buy TV shows from the "American iTunes Store", which for some reason contains British shows? Thanks.

You cannot use the UK iTunes Store without 1) being physically present in the UK and 2) setting up an account in the UK iTunes Store, either a new account or by converting your Swedish account, either of which will require you having a UK-issued credit card. The same would apply to the US iTunes Store; you'd have to be in the US and have a US credit card.
So if you live in Sweden, you will not be able to buy any content not offered in the Swedish iTunes Store.

If you've redeemed the card into your account then you should be able to buy items where you use that account - so your iPod or computer's iTunes

TV programmes can't be redownloaded in all countries (and even where they can be there is no guarantee that they will remain in a country's store for future redownloading) so it may be easier to do it on your computer's iTunes and then sync them (and so that you can take a backup)

The main page of iTunes is not showing up, I can't preview ANY music, and I can't buy any music. Why is this happening?

Like I said... I'm having all these problems. I have the updates, my computer isn't firewalled against iTunes.. I don't get it! I've been having trouble with the previewing thing for a while now.. the little 'play' icons never show up--even on music that has already been released. The front/main page of iTunes (when you first open it) shows only the side bars, not the new releases and What's Hot and all that that's usually in the center of the page. You may want to try resetting Winsock as a temporary fix.
1. To do so, please do the following in an administrator user:
Windows Vista and Windows 7: Right click All Programs and choose Accessories > Command Prompt. Choose to open as an administrator.
Windows XP: Click Start > Run and type in cmd.

Why are you throwing away any future chances of out of warranty replacements when you drop or drown it? Apple will give you a warranteed replacement phone for $199 (in the US, roughly the same in your country)

The iTunes Store only offers episodes or season passes to specific shows, not to an an entire network (the networks don't license content that way). There are some networks on the Apple TV, such as PBS, HBO, Disney, ABC and a few others that do have apps in the Apple TV (depending on your country) that allow access to content on those networks without having to buy a specific show.
