Can't Call From Contact List

When I pull up anyone from my contact list, tap the number to activate a call, I get the text message window. The only way I can make a call is through the keypad. Any ideas on how to correct this?

Does anyone know how to set where in I can ignore calls from the people on my contact list. I get the screen to ignore when people not in my contact list call, however when some one from the list calls, I do not get that option. Any set up changes. ideas ????

Well, technically you can/could. It's a feature called 'Smart Limits'. However, AT&T no longer allows you to block incoming calls due to potential 911 call-back issues. If you had the feature when it first came out you can still use it but no new subscribers are able to add the feature. It will allow toy block up to 15 specific numbers. It is currently being tested until it has all of the issues sorted out.

N86 cant call from contact list ?

Folks please be gentle with me, I am totally not literate with all this technical stuff.
Ive had my N86 for a couple of days now (virgin upgrade), I'm the first to admit I have been fiddling with it. I tried to call my lad today and I cannot call using the contacts list, Ive treid all numbers on it and there all the same.
What have I done please?

hey there,
Have you tried to check the settings of your phone under call settings?or the least thing i think the reason why you are not capable of outgoing calls is that your in line 2. In order for you to disable it just long press the pound key which is located at the buttom right keypad of your device.let me know then if that works and lets try another options.......

N97 unable to make a call from contacts list

Hey, I was looking for some confirmation from others about this. I tried to make a call this morning by doing exactly what I would do on my E71 or N95 when a contact has multiple numbers:
1) Opened up my contacts.
2) Clicked a contact with multiple numbers, that already had a default one set.
3) The main contact screen pops up that shows you the picture of the person and gives you 4 options of things to do.
4) Because I wanted to call one of the other phone numbers, not the default one, I clicked the tab at the top that shows you all the contact information you have for said contact.
5) I then clicked the number I wanted and then clicked the call button.
6) Nothing happened. I kept clicking it thinking it didn't register and still nothing happened.
I tried this for 6 other contacts who have multiple numbers with defaults, and I even tried it with contacts who had only one number. I'm not allowed to make a call that way. The only way to make a phone call to a contact with multiple numbers is to not have any defaults set so when I go to step (3) above, I have to click "Voice call" and then select the number I want to call.
This **bleep** me off like nothing else after I discovered this. So before I go have a pleasant conversation with someone from Nokia I just wanted to know if this is the same for everybody else.

Similar issue can up with MMS/SMS'ing to non-default numbers (Clicky...)
You need to use the same process, ie...
Open Contacts >> Open the contact you wish to phone >> With Voice Call selected click "options" >> "Select other number" >> then just pick the number you want to call.
Slightly easier than SMS/MMS'ing as Voice Call is at the top of the list so selected by default

I would try to export the contact from gmail
Import the contact to mac or pc
And then sycronise your device with it.

Oscar, keep in mind that my suggestion could not be the best one.
I have a copy of Nokia suite on my Windows XP partition on my Mac, just to test it.
The second icon on the upper row explains as a syncronisation with Outlook.
Try to do it and later you should use the iClod manager from Apple and Sync Outlook to ìiClod and to any iPhone iPod and so on.

One way is via iCloud. Settings > iClouds > Contacts on for both.

Just to recap, this is a collection of ports I have collected over time for people who needed this information when setting up the HP ePrint app so that they could view their email from within the app. I am certain other applications also need this information. Although lengthy, I could not find a more comprehensive place to retrieve this information. Feel free to post additional information, faulty information, or other related topics below as this is simply a collection of data and it would be practically impossible to test all of them. First of all, check via Nokia Suite and on the phone itself for any firmware updates that may be available. IF there is an update, please update to the latest version offered. If there is no update, then try re-installing your current firmware via Nokia Suite. Failing this, try Restoring your phone to factory settings, and if this doesn't work, then you try performing a three finger hard reset. Failing this, you will need to take your phone to your local Nokia Care point for them to inspect.
