Can't  capture frame.

My as/400 eth's mac is 4242.4242.0640,so I think the correct config of dlsw partner is
2424.2424.6002. If I config 2424.2424.6002,the mac can't be found. if I config
4242.4242.6002,the mac can be found. Like something is error,DLSw is try to chang my MAC
addresses between canonical format and noncanonical format, but it only change the last two byte. And you can see,dlsw can translate correctly the destionation of as/400 0200.0000.4080 to router's vmac 4000.0000.0201.

  • Can't capture from my cannon video camera to Final Cut or iMovie.

    Hi. I can't capture from my cannon video camera to FInal Cut or iMovie. ANy help would be greatly appreciated. I don't think my iMac is recognizing the camera. I was told I don't need a firewire, that USB would work if I'm just capturing. If I need a firewire what kind (the one I was sold didn't fit). I'm getting an "unable to locate external device message". Not sure of next steps to try. Thanks.

    Forget USB for capturing from tape. USB is only for stills from a Tape Based camera.
    You require a firewire cable.
    The camera connection end will be four pin and the Mac is nine pin to the 800 port.
    Ask for a 9 to 4 pin firewire cable. Sounds like you have the wrong one as they can also be 4 to 4 or 4 to 6 pin!!
    Also you will need the correct Easy Setup in FCE so FCE talk to the camera, exactly which one depends on what type of footage is being sent to FCE from the camera during capture.

    Hi,
    iChat will set up a Video chat window that takes in to account your Processor speed and Internet Speed and to some extent the Buddy's speed.
    This then denotes the pixel content of each frame.
    OS X 10.6.x tells me this is iChat 5 which in turn mean you have  at least an Intel Core 2 Duo Processor.
    This should be capable of 30 frames a sec at  about 640 X 480 pixels  (Check the Connection Doctor (Video Menu) and the Statistics tab during a Chat).
    iChat 5 cannot do HD  (Max of 4:3 ratio at the above figures)
    After that it depends how you are recording the chat.
    Quicktime X would do it.
    iChat will do it itself (if the Buddy agrees)

  • Faulty firewire port on DV7-3080ca: can't capture video

    I have a Pavilion DV7-3080ca laptop, and I cannot properly capture video from my (Canon HV20) video camera, which I connect to the laptop's firewire (1394) port. Regular video can be captured but not without many dropped frames, and HD Video cannot be captured at all. When I connect the camera to the firewire port, the camera says "HDMI Out" on the camera screen, instead of "DV Out" as it should say, so there seems to also be a recognition problem.
    Searching on the Internet, I've learned that the problem is likely the Ricoh chipset that this firewire port uses, which is apparently more problematic than the preferred Texas Instruments (TI) chipset that some other laptops use for their firewire port.
    Does anyone know if there's a fix for this?  Is it something that HP could fix with a future BIOS update?  I was hoping that it may have been corrected in the last BIOS, but I just flashed my DV7 BIOS with the latest version from the HP web site (F.13), and it didn't help. I've also updated the graphics driver and the Intel chipset drivers; that didn't fix the problem either.
    My other alternative, if there is no fix, is to purchase an Expresscard with firewire ports that uses the TI chipset. Does anyone know if that would solve my problem? I don't want to spend the extra $50 if it won't.
    Some people speculate that the problem with the DV7 firewire ports is also partly because it shares IRQ16 with several other functions, in which case the Expresscard solution won't work, because I think it's on IRQ16 too.
    Any tips would be most appreciated.  I've tried contacting HP via Help chat and email, but neither response even acknowledged that the firewire port's Ricoh chipset is faulty, even though that seems to be common knowledge on the web.

    Has anyone tried to capture video with a firewire Expresscard rather than with the faulty Ricoh-chipset-based firewire port that's built in (but faulty) on the DV7 laptop?
    It's my last hope, but I'm not optimistic. Some say it won't help because it shares IRQ16 with lots of other functions.  Don't really want to spend another $50 to work around a firewire port that should work properly in the first place, but I really need to be able to capture DV footage with this laptop.
    Have tried to contact someone at HP who's familiar with this problem, but no luck.

  • Can I capture a still image from a quicktime movie?

    Can I capture a still image from a quicktime movie?

    Yes. But how you do it depends on your version of quicktime.
    If you have the pro version, you can easily use the "Export" option to output the video as a series of images.
    For the basic version of quicktime, or if you want to quickly take make a still image of a single frame, you could just use the "Grab" application in OSX to take a screen shot.

    The short answer is yes.
    I have just done that and I am happy to report that it worked like a charm.
    I captured from a DVCAM tape via firewire using PPro CS6 while authoring a Blu-ray disk in Encore CS6.
    No frames were lost during capture and my test blu-ray project was completed without a hitch.

  • How to capture frame maximizing/minimizing event?

    I have a requirement.
    I have a JTable. The preferred size of the table should be set dynamically when the JFrame/window is maximized or minimized.
    If the window is maximized the preferred size should be
         table.setPreferredSize(new Dimension(1200, 370
    If the window is minimized then preferred size should be
         table.setPreferredSize(new Dimension(715, 370);
    I thought of a solution like if I capture maximize / minimizing event then I can set preferred size accordingly. I need some help
    to capture those events.
    Or if any other solution can be given for this requirement means also it is fine.
    Anybody guide me to capture frame maximizing / minimizing event

    Hi,
    I have coded my requirement as below:
    mainFrame.addComponentListener(new ComponentListener() {                                           // frame where panel->scroll panel is fixed
                   public void componentResized(ComponentEvent e) {         // captured the events by passing component listener
                        if (mainFrame.getExtendedState() == 6) {      // captures the window maximizing event
                             table.getTablePane().setPreferredSize(
                                       new Dimension(1250, 450)); // set required size
                             table.getTablePane().revalidate(); // revalidated.
                        } else {                                                                               // captures window restoring event
                             table.getTablePane().setPreferredSize(
                                       new Dimension(715, 450));
                             table.getTablePane().revalidate();
                   public void componentHidden(ComponentEvent arg0) {}
                   public void componentMoved(ComponentEvent arg0) {}
                   public void componentShown(ComponentEvent arg0) {}
    Thanks for everyone who helped me.

  • Can PE capture at 24 fps

    I'm filming with a Sony FX1000.  I've set it to 24p because I've read that this gives the video a more filmic look.  Mind you, the technical part of things is not my strong suit, but I'm learning.  Many hours into a long documentary project, it just kept gnawing at me that the video didn't look like it should.  At first I suspected the camera so I've been over on a Sony forum for a while, but it turns out the issues centers on capture: PE is capturing my footage at 29.97 fps, and is dropping frames.  I can't find any way to change this setting.  I've done research, and it looks like Premiere Pro can capture at 24 p., but before I risk my marriage, I thought I'd make sure my thinking is straight here.  Can PE capture 24p.?
    Many thanks!
    Doug

    Thanks for the additional information. I generalized in my initial response and did not take a good look at the camera that you said that you were using. I have now.
    Your camera is a Sony HDR-FX1000 HD MiniDV camcorder which has the feature of offering HDV @ 24 progressive frames per second. From what I have read, the camera converts the 24p to 60i (30 frames per second), with a 2-3 Pulldown for the 24p. HDV and DV data capture firewire is always characterized by 29.97 interlaced frames per second in spite of your source here. You have found that out.
    If you right click the monitor and select Playback Settings, you will see an option there for "24p Conversion Method". I did some searching on that. From what I understand that does not appear to be an answer here since what I read includes
    converts 24p footage to standard frame rate by either of two methods
    a. Repeat Frames (ABBCD)..is said to have motion flaws but not interlaced artifacts issues
    b. Interlaced Frame (2:3:3:2)..is said offer "smoother" but can present with interlaced artifacts
    Based on what I have read, I see no way of removing the 2-3 Pulldown for 24p to change the firewire 29.97 back to 24.00 in the editing area of the program.
    As for your export...Share/Computer/AVI, if you select Microsoft AVI and then click on Advanced Button/Video Tab, I see a setting for 24 frames per second. What Video Codec are you selecting? What are selecting under Share/Computer/AVI?
    If you select Share/Computer/MPEG with Presets = NTSC DVD Standard, under the Advanced Button/Video Tab, you should have a choice of 23.976 or 29.97.
    My point in all this is that there are opportunities for a 24p export.
    Here is where I am need to focus in....you say that you have a large project derived from HDV (p24) data capture firewire into Premiere Elements where it is presenting as 1440 x 1080 HD anamorphic 16:9 at 29.97 interlaced frames per second. And, you are dealing with the large project by exporting segments of it to incorporate into the grand project. If so, why an issue with the export frame rate of the export of these segments. Your DVD-VIDEO is going to be 720 x 480 @ 29.97 frames per second be it standard or standard widescreen.
    So, I would think that you could export your segments as
    a. Share/Computer/AVI, with the DV NTSC Standard or DV NTSC Widescreen preset (29.97 frames per second)
    b. Share/Computer/MPEG, with the NTSC Standard DVD or NTSC Widescreen DVD (29.97 frames per second)
    then import the segments into a Premiere Elements NTSC DV Standard or NTSC DV Widescreen project for burn to DVD (standard or widescreen).
    As for the 24p footage that you have that is captured firewire into Premiere Elements as 29.97 frames per second...if you have not already, please consider what I have written and explore and experiment with the settngs under the advanced button of the preset. Another consideration...HDV = 1440 x 1080 with a 16:9 flag that stretches it to 1920 x 1080 for display after encoding; whereas no stretching when your source is 1920 x 1080. For project preset setting, consider the HDV settings; but for export consider the 1920 x 1080 when appropriate. The choice of the 1920 x 1080 at export in this case avoids the dependancy on the player for reading a 16:9 flag.
    The above is my take on the matter. Please let me know if I have misinterpreted what you are asking.
    Thanks.
    ATR
    Add On...after I wrote the above, I came across an online article on 24p and Canon, but the information in that thread might prove of interest.

  • Can not capture from Sony HDV 1080i (recording in 60i)

    Hello
    We are trying to capture from the above camera to a Mac Dual G5. We are using FinalCutPro 5.1.2. We are using a FireWire 400 cable to connect to the front of the computer (have also tryed back of Cinema Display). The footage was captured in HDV1080/60i, and we have tried the corresponding formats in Easy Setup (Basic, standard, Apple Intermediate).
    The problem: we can control the camera from the Log and Capture windows, but when starting capture, no data is coming in, and the program therefor gives up after a few seconds (displaying a no data error message).
    We have tried Batch and Now capture. We can log clips, and get the correct time code, but can not capture those clips due to the no data problem.

    This is a good workaround for curing your camera recognition problem with FCP (if that's what it is):
    First, check that your Easy Setup / Timeline / Camera or Deck Settings are all exactly the same, then making sure your camera or deck is in VTR mode, try to capture again.
    FCP uses a different form of QT than iMovie for capturing, so if the camera works in iMovie (or if it's listed in System Profiler) but not FCP, it obviously means your Mac can see the VTR but FCP can't, so you need to do this QuickTime fix.
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=301852
    Follow the instructions carefully and you should have things running in no time - it's quite safe but you must Trash the Receipts AND re-install QT from the link provided.
    If the Camera / Deck isn't recognised by iMovie or System Profiler, try resetting the Firewire Bus . . . Turn off the Mac and disconnect the power and all Firewire cables. Leave it for 30 mins then connect back up.
    Still not working? Try a different Firewire cable.
    Failing all this, try resetting the PMU (Power Management Unit). The method varies from machine to machine, so visit the Apple site and search for it in support.
    Don't use iMovie for capturing - it doesn't give you a timecode and that's very important.
    Let us know how you get on!

  • Can't capture video using iSight camera in QuickTime 7.4 (92)

    OK, I see that there are plenty of "bugs" with Quicktime Version 7.4 (92), but I don't see the problem I am having, posted anywhere. Here goes...
    I cannot capture video using my [Firewire] iSight camera on my CoreDuo MacMini. I definitely used to be able to do this. When I go to File>New Movie Recording, I get a back/blank Movie Recording window and that's it. I click on the Red/Record button and nothing happens. The timer doesn't even advance. Just sits there. When I try to stop the recording, I get the following message:
    *"Recording failed because no data was received.*
    *Make sure that the media input source is turned on and playing."*
    I can still capture audio, although had some problems and had to "downgrade" to version 7.3.x and subsequently reinstalled 7.4. Now the audio works but still no video.
    A few things:
    1. YES, the iSight camera works - I can use it in iMovie, iChat, Photobooth, etc. - for both video and audio.
    2. As I mentioned, I tried "downgrading" (using "Pacifist") but still no video.
    3. I re-installed Version 7.4 and the audio problems cleared up, but again, still unable to capture video.
    3. All software updates installed.
    Any ideas???
    Thanks!

    "As I mentioned, I tried "downgrading" (using "Pacifist") but still no video."
    See QuickTimeKirk’s posting in the following thread:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1357579&tstart=0
    Try the following:
    Trash com.apple.LaunchServices.plist
    It's located in your account:
    HD/Library/Preferences/com.apple.LaunchServices.plist
    Delete the file, restart (a new .plist will be created) and quicktime hopefully will work again w/o doing an Archive & Install.
    +If you want to do an A&I:+
    Do an archive and install of your OS from the OS disc. Stop at the QT upgrade you need.
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=301270 Scroll down to "Archive and Install”
    IMPORTANT: Maker sure you select "preserve user preferences and data" when you performed the A&I?
    Good luck!

  • Error while configuring QT--can't capture in FCP HD

    I keep getting a message saying "Error occured while configuring QT using the current capture presets, please close FCP and check your hardware configuraton" when I try to capture. All settings are consistent with video output device. I'm upconverting 720p to 1080i and capturing at 1080i 29.97. What else can I do!?!?!?

    What are you trying to capture? What format? What capture card are you using?
    If you are trying to upconvert HDV via firewire, you can't do that. You can only capture native resolution or lower "offline quality" resolutions. You cannot cross convert or upconvert via firewire.
    But that is just a stab in the dark.
