Can't change cache directory anymore?

Hey I reinstalled spotify and I can't seem to find the option in the settings where you could change the directory of the buffer files anymore? Can you not change this anymore? Will this come back in an future update?Otherwise I won't be able to use spotify any longer and have to look for a better solution.

I expect they correct this HUGE mistake. What about who have a SSD? Are you gona to pay a new SSD? If you don't solve this mistake i remove my premium.

Select the directory, CMD+I, go to the bottom, unlock the lock, and add yourself to the list with R&W permissions.

If you use the Grab.app in Applications/Utilities, you can name the file whatever you want and place it whereever you want. Filenames are not automatically incremented, however.
The disadvantage is that it saves the capture only in .tiff format, not .png
But double-clicking on the saved .tiff file will open it in Preview.app, and you can then Option+Save As in .png format in that same folder, or elsewhere.
Grab.app has some other nice features too, such as selecting a cursor shape to be displayed (or none), and doing a timed screen capture.
And of course there are other apps...

How can I change the directory in which I install oracle-xe-universal?

Because I need to install it into my ssd which is mounted in the other directory.
I know I can install the rpm package by relocate the root, but it won't work.
Where I can just change the directory where to install the oracle-xe?

If you are looking at the entire music library ("Music") you can sort by any of the columns by clicking the column header. If there is a column you can't see, enable it by going to View > View Options.
Within a playlist, you can do the same, and in addition you can click above the column of sequence numbers, which will then allow you to drag tracks up or down to get any order you wish.

How can I change the directory a file is written to?

I have an app running through JSP. At one point in the app, a file is written to the current directory. I have installed Tomcat at "C:\Program Files\Apache Tomcat 4.0" but the file is written to "C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Start Menu\Programs\Apache Tomcat 4.0" !!!
What gives? Anyone know how I can change this?
I also need to be able to read files from the current directory, so I can't really put them in that dir... I would like to be able to store the files in a dir relative to the webapps/myapp dir...
I searched through the archives for this problem without finding a solution...
Please don't suggest writing the files to an absolute pathname...

To store files in a dir relative to web application context (webapps/myApplication/...), I usually use the getRealPath() method of ServletContext object.
For example, if my filepath is "webbapps/MyApplication/MyDir/MyFileName" i do something like this:
String FilePath=getServletContext().getRealPath("MyDir/MyFileName");
File file=new File(FilePath);
This way allows your application to be indipendent from local mappings inwhich it's deployed.

Can't change home directory for standard users (admin is OK)

I'm can't relocate home directories for standard users. Relocating works fine for admin users.
When a standard user logs in, they get a message (paraphased) saying "the home directory is not available. If it is located on a server, the server might not be online". If I change the standard user to admin, this message goes away, and everything is fine.
I created a standard user
moved the home directory using the terminal as root: mv UserName /otherlocation/UserName
I then went into users and groups, other options and changed the home directory location.
Rebooted, then tried to log in as the standard users.
Next try - Deleted the standard user and created the same user with admin rights. Followed the above steps and everything works fine.
I don't want this user to have admin rights on my system. Any ideas

the AFP is has always been switched on. As for the path I believe this to be correct. The path I am using is:
afp://musicserver/Users
I'm not at the server right now so I mat have got the afp and : and / in the wrong order here but they are correct on the server.
This however does not seem to put the a folder in the Users folder. Could it be something to do with my external hard drive? I am using a Mac Mini as our server (not ideal but fine for us, or at least was) this is booted from our external hard drive. This is the main system drive which is where the Users data is also stored. I have tried all possible paths I can thing of from replacing the 'musicserver' with the IP address. I have also tried adding the name of the drive to the path (System) but all does not work.
Are you able to suggest anything I have missed? Perhaps I'm doing the path wrong?

Distiller: can't change color settings anymore

I just tried to change some settings in a specific Distiller (8) setting, but when I press Cmd-E and get to all the option tabs, I cannot acces the color tab! When I click on the word color the screens stays as it is and the little tab turns grey. After that I can't press OK or cancel: I can only switch between other tabs... Anyone knows what went wrong here? I really need to change those settings!

Hi; now I could solve the problem for me. I had to remove my Photoshop10 color profile from Mac/Users/.../Library/Application%20Support/Adobe/Color/Settings/ because it must have been corrupted by other CS3 applications (Illu13, Indy5 etc.). Then I created a new color profile there using 'Photoshop10 > Edit > Color Settings', and to be sure I created for each CS3 app a separate one (I named it ColSetPhotoshop, ColSetIllustrator, ColSetIndesign etc.) and selected it in each app, so that those corruptions cannot occur in the future. NEVERTHELESS: ADOBE SHOULD AVOID THOSE INSECURITIES IN THEIR PRODUCTS!
After doing so, Distiller's color tab is functioning normally.

Do not use any other colour parameters than those made with Adobe photoshop or those which are pre-installed.
If you create personal colour parameters with Illustrator or Indesign, this drives Distiller to crash when hitting the colour tab in the pdf settings.
Remove all personal colour parameters (User > Library > Application Support > Adobe > Color > Settings) except those made with Photoshop.

How Can I change the Directory and Name of Coded UI Test Result html file

Now I can find the Coded UI test result html file insde the following path
TestProjectFolder\TestResults\2015_01_22_05_59\In\anotherfolder\MyMachineName\UiTestActionLog.html
VS2013 enables editing the name structure of this folder only (2015_01_22_05_59). and it should contains a static name+DateTime (Using the Project TestSettings).
I need to (Programatically)
Collect all test result html files on one folder with the project name (Change the path of the test result file)
Put the testcase name on the result file name (for example : TC13505_ValidateScreenComponents_2015_01_22_05_59)
If possible,Programatically attach the html result file to the test case attachements

As you said that you want to collect all test result html files on one folder with the project name by programmatically way to change the path of test result file in coded UI test.
As far as I know that when we run a coded UI test every time, it is default that there will create a new folder to save the new UITestActionLog.html.
So we could not change the path of test result file and collect all test result html files on one folder in VS IDE.
At present, there have no way to collect all test result html files on one folder and change the test result file path.
In addition, I know that we can change the TestResults folder using mstest.exe in command line.

Users can't change Active directory password on MACs

When they change the account password thought system perferences, the changes are not being passed to the DC and federated services server.
I have logged off and logged back in, And rebooted. If they open the login keychain it will update but is there any way a end user can change there password with out involving IT?
Mac are runing 10.6.8 and 6.5.1 AD .

One of our users has iMac, 10.6.8.
She has not got any local account.
She logs on to AD domain, with domain ID
When after 40 days or so she is asked the change the password; it does not work.
If we change it for here through AD or through another Windows PC, it works.
Could you please let me know the best course of action for this type of users who are not administrators of iMac?
I tested by changing my account's PAssword and it worked( I have administrative role).

Can't change Active Directory password

I have a PowerBook that has successfully bound to an Active Domain (the server is running Serve 2003). When I try to change my password from the Accounts preference pane it rejects my password as not following the rules for a valid password. The problem is that I am following the rules and the password should be valid. Is there something I'm missing, or is there a binding option I should or shouldn't be using?

Chances are that you're actually not following the password complexity rules. Your IT folks may not have told you every little exception. I'll give you what I consider to be the common rules:
1. Must be at least eight (8) characters long.
2. Must contain at least one UPPER case letter.
3. Must contain at least one lower case letter.
4. Must contain at least one number (0-9) or a symbol created by SHIFTing a number ( Shift 0-9 = !@#$%^&*() )
5. Must not contain any form of your user name
6. Must be a password you've never used before.
7. Must not contain any words in the dictionary.
8. Must begin with a letter, not a number.
See if you can use this password: P@55w0rd
If you're absolutely postive that your password meets the complexity rules then try changing it on a Windows machine. A failure may display a message with the complexity requirements.

How can I change download directory?

Browser.download.dir and browser.download.folderList setted as 2 don't work after the browser update.

To change the download folder for Firefox follow these steps :
(1)type about:config
(2) In the search box, type download and tap Enter
(3) Scroll down to browser.download.folderList and tap Modify, then change the value from 1 to 2 (from default always to last used folder).
(3) navigate up and tap the "Add a New Setting" button
(4) the string type is corrct ,type OK
(5) The name of the preference should be browser.download.dir (this stores the last used directory)
(6) The value should be '''/sdcard/''' followed by the '''folder name''' you want to use, as example, /sdcard/Pics
If you switch back to your other tab and download something, it should go to the new folder.

Can't change home directory location on 10.6.8 server

After setting up 10.6.8 server. We want the location of the home dir to be in a sub folder in the User folder on the servers HD. The problem is any shared folder we set up the client computers get the message that the home dir can not be found. The only way we have been able to make this work is by letting the home dir to reside in the Users folder. Why can I not make it any shared folder anywhere?

In your client Network preference pane you should set as DNS record the IP address of your server. Then restart the client machine. I don't know if this is a standard solution, but for me it fixes the problem.

Can´t change cache folder

Hi,
i would like to render my cache files to another disk than my system disk, so i specified the path in the preferences under "media" for both the database and media cache files. I deleted the old ones too, but every time i render, it kepps rendering to the old default location on my sysetm disk.
Save media files next to originals when possible is turned off, my sources are on another drive than the system.
I tried restarting premiere, the computer, trashing the preferences, with new projects, but it does not seem to work.
Am i missing something?
Any help appreciated.
I´m on on Mac 10.8.4, premiere CC (7.2.2) by the way....

how can i change cache directory? My reason are: i use folder redirection and application data folder is redirected, so i want to use local settings/application data folder instead of default directory.

If you are wanting to change the location of the applet and WebStart caches, it can be done from within the Java Plug-in.

Can't change track location in playlist by dragging anymore

can't change track position anymore on any playlist, what am I missing?

Make sure that the sort indication (the little black triangle) is above the left-most column, i.e. the column of numbers.
If the triangle is above any other column, the playlist will stay sorted by that column, and you will not be able to drag individual tracks up or down
