Can't change icon theme in XFCE4 [never mind]

Hi, I downloaded few xfwm, cursor and icon themes and they all work except icon...
I followed steps at http://wiki.xfce.org/howto/install_new_themes and Arch Wiki but that's not solution when case are icon themes...
thanks.
Edit: Okay, I just checked my ~/, thinking I maybe made a mistake... and yeah, instead of putting icons in ~/.icons I put it in .themes... Everything else was in it's place..oh
Pls remove thread ;D

Which particular icon themes did not work and what exactly did you do? Maybe if they were not properly packaged or there was an error on the extraction the folders are messed up and so xfce settings manager can't see the theme.

    Maybe there's an add-on for this? But if not...
    You can use custom style rules to modify the appearance of many parts of Firefox's user interface. Here's an example of a custom style rule applied using the Stylish extension's preview feature (see attached screen shot).
    @namespace url(http://www.mozilla.org/keymaster/gatekeeper/there.is.only.xul);
    #bookmarksMenuPopup, #bookmarksMenuPopup menupopup {
    -moz-appearance: none !important;
    background-color: rgb(255, 255, 204) !important; /* Pale yellow background*/
    #bookmarksMenuPopup menu, #bookmarksMenuPopup menuitem {
    color: rgb(0, 0, 255) !important; /* Blue text */
    font-weight: bold !important; /* Bold text */
    I'm not saying that's pretty, but it's possible. You will need to be guided by your own color sense.
    References:
    * Stylish: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/stylish/ (after installing, click its "S" icon on the toolbar and create a blank style, then you can paste the rule and click Preview)
    * If you don't want any more extensions, you can apply custom style rules to the UI by creating or editing a userChrome.css file.
    See http://kb.mozillazine.org/userChrome.css
    * To get color codes, you can use: http://www.visibone.com/colorlab/ There also are sites that show colors which coordinate well together if you can't find a combination you like.

  • Can't change icon's theme on my kde 11.3 panel

    Hi folks. I set AG-Plasma Icon for my panel but apper icon, the digital clock and the little button that shows hidden icons are stucked on the previous theme... This pic should explain quite well the problem. I've already empty /var/tmp/kdecache-myname/ but still doesn't work.. and I haven't anymore ideas..
    and... Is it possible showing awoken icons on the kde panel instead of AG-plasma ones? If yes, how?

    Yes. The theme changes that way but not the icons. I have a theme installed with gnome-art-ng and I also changed theme your way but when trying to do that with an icon-theme doesn't change anything. How can I do it in a way that creates a log or some kind of output?
    I have tried with 4 or 5 different iconthemes. No difference.

  • Xfce4 Does Not change icon theme

    Hi arch community,
       I have installed xfce4, Liking it. But when I wanted to change the icons, I wanted to  use the Cheser icon theme, so I followed the instuctions here:
    http://docs.xfce.org/xfce/xfce4-settings/appearance
    Under the icon section.
    I could not change the icon theme, but I could change everything else such as fonts and gtk theme.
    Here's what I have tried:
    -Deleting ~/.config directory
    -Log out, then back in.
    -Changing the permissions of ~/.icons to username
    -Rebooted
    EDIT:
    This was somehow solved by a hard reboot,because the logon manager failed to work,I think the cleanup removed/corruped one of the files, then changed my icons!
    Call me crazy, but that's how I did it.

    I am having the exact same problem. It is even worse because it has happened to me in class before.
    The other day, after coming to class I opened up my MBP from sleep intending to work on some things for class. As a general practice I hit the mute key as soon as I open the Mac. This always worked well with my Powerbook. However the system did not mute and the connection noises from iChat played out. This upset the teacher who glared at me for the rest of the class.
    This is not an isolated incident either. I have had the tool bar and the translucent icon disagree a number of times.
    I have found that if I hit the mute key twice it will generally correct the problem. But it is annoying. I hope someone at Apple is listening (in more than one way it would seem)

  • Can you change the theme color in iMovie for example from its current color of blue to red?

    Can you change the color of a theme in iMovie ?- example: the sports theme is set to be blue and I would like it red.

    No. And that would be nice in your type of example.
    I would recommend that you could TRY to use the "Map, Background & Animatics" earth icon> (next to transitions tool tab), scroll down> add RED background, and ADD Transitions inside some. That might help your example out.
    Hope this helps. Cheers

  • Can't change icons in kde4.1

    I've used kde4 for a long time,and get tired of the default oxygen icons.I install other icon themes but none of them works well.I mean,yes,the application icons changes,but the folder icon NEVER change.I know that kde4's "folder" icons is in the folder "places" instead of "filesystems",i've tried to rename the folder"filesystems" to "places",and edit the index.theme file,nothing change.Somebody know what should i do?Thanks.

    This should also work if you want to use non-standard locations.  By the way I'm not sure about this, but I don't think you'll see the changes immediately just by changing the comments and closing pcman.

  • How can I change icons for saved links

    I have a number of links on my Bookmarks Toolbar for quick access. Each of them used to have an icon associated with it, but now one icon is missing. The link still works OK, so it's just a matter of not being able to spot it quickly with the icon.
    How can I tell FF what icon to use for a link?
    I can't do it on the toolbar or in the properties function for any link. I thought I used to be able to change it at will.

    You can do that with the Bookmark Favicon Changer add-on - https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/bookmark-favicon-changer

  • Neither minitube or qiveiwer can see the icon theme

    Hi, I've been trying for ages to fix this myself to no avail.
    I'm using E17 as a DE/WM with oxygen as the theme and most apps being qt based.
    For some apps theming and icons are a tad shady (heres looking at you pea zip) but most work just fine.
    Minitube and qiveiwer however can't seem to use oxygen icons for menu items.
    Here's minitube as it appears to me
    and heres what qiveiwer looks like
    I've had a look in the source for minitube and it first checks gconf if gnome is available then uses the KDE theme if not.
    Is there some directory I can use to convince it theres a KDE theme?
    I can post more info if needed, I'm not sure what else might be useful.

    It might help to trash the iApps preference file.
    See instructions here.
