Can't change incorrect date

Hi Folks,
I just had a problem crop up on my 3 month old IMac. Some emails came in with the wrong date so I went to check the date under System Preferences. There, the date in the calendar showed today's date (April 13th) but the bar up above the calendar showed 04/26/2010. So I unchecked the box that sets date & time automatically and tried to change this bar to the correct date. When I clicked on the 26 it did not highlight with a color and I could not change this date either with the keyboard or with the arrows on the right side of the bar. I could click on the month and year in the same bar. They would both change color and I was able to change those numbers. It was just the day that I was not able to change. As I said this computer is only 3 months old so I doubt it is a low battery. Does anyone have any ideas how to get around this glitch? Thanks in advance for your help.

Gunnyranger,
Welcome to Apple Discussions.
Go to System Preferences>Language & Text>Formats>Region>and select the appropriate region. Also check your settings in Dates/Times.

  • How can I change incorrect "date received" info in Mail?

When I switched to Mavericks I had to leave behind Eudora, which I liked.  I started using Mail, but when Mail imported my email files from Eudora it misdated many of the files, using the date the file was imported as the "date received".  Since I use the date to help me keep track of sequencing of emails received, having this incorrect date thrown in is a problem, but I can't find any way to correct it.
Exactly how can I correct the "date received" on mislabeled emails?  The dates were correct in my Eudora files, but I can't access those any more now that I'm on Mavericks, so I'm going to have to manually check the emails to find the dates in the headers or message contents.
I'm not highly tech savvy, so if I have to go into the Terminal, I'll have to know exactly what prompts to look for and what specific information to provide, and in what format.
    Help!

    Hi Stuart.
Open /Applications/Utilities/Terminal, type the following command (you can just copy it here, paste in a text editor, modify the email address, then copy the whole command again, and paste in Terminal), and press <Return>:
    defaults write com.apple.mail UserHeaders '{"Reply-To" = "[email protected]";}'
The following article contains a more thorough description of this technique that takes into consideration the possibility that you might inadvertently overwrite other default headers by doing that:

  • How can I change the date format in Reminders and in Notes?

How can I change the date format in both Notes and Reminders? Preference on Imac and Settings in IOS do not allow me to change the format in those 2 apps.
I Like to see 10oct rather than 10/10, as an example.

I do not have Mavericks or iOS - but the first thing I would do is reset the defaults - I'll use Mavericks as an example
From If the wrong date or time is displayed in some apps on your Mac - Apple Support
    OS X Yosemite and Mavericks
        Open System Preferences.
From the View menu, choose Language & Region.
        Click the Advanced button.
        Click the Dates tab.
        Click the Restore Defaults button.
        Click the Times tab.
        Click the Restore Defaults button.
        Click OK.
Quit the app where you were seeing incorrect dates or times displayed.
Open the app again, and verify that the dates and times are now displayed correctly.
Then customize to taste - OS X Mavericks: Customize formats to display dates, times, and more
OS X Mavericks: Customize formats to display dates, times, and more
Change the language and formats used to display dates, times, numbers, and currencies in Finder windows, Mail, and other apps. For example, if the region for your Mac is set to United States, but the format language is set to French, then dates in Finder windows and email messages appear in French.
Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click Language & Region.
Choose a geographic region from the Region pop-up menu, to use the region’s date, time, number, and currency formats.
To customize the formats or change the language used to display them, click Advanced, then set options.
In the General pane, you can choose the language to use for showing dates, times, and numbers, and set formats for numbers, currency, and measurements.
In the Dates and Times panes, you can type in the Short, Medium, Long, and Full fields, and rearrange or delete elements. You can also drag new elements, such as Quarter or Milliseconds, into the fields.
When you’re done customizing formats, click OK.
The region name in Language & Region preferences now includes “Custom” to indicate you customized formats.
To undo all of your changes for a region, choose the region again from the Region pop-up menu. To undo your changes only to advanced options, click Advanced, click the pane where you want to undo your changes, then click Restore Defaults.
To change how time is shown in the menu bar, select the “Time format” checkbox in Language & Region preferences, or select the option in Date & Time preferences.
Here's the result AppleScript i use to grab the " 'Short Date' ' + ' 'Short Time' "  to paste into download filenames - works good until I try to post it here - the colon " : " is a no-no but is fine in the Finder
Looks like iOS Settings are a bit less robust

  • How can I change the date of birth on my child's Apple ID?

    HI,
My son's school have started an initiative where they use iPads as part of their lessons, and subsequently my son has a brand new iPad through the scheme.
The setup guide that the school supplied directed us to enter the parent's date of birth and the student's name to set up an Apple ID.  However, since setting his iPad up we have become aware of Family Sharing when we setup our old iPad for his younger brother, and the ability to create an Apple ID for a child.  We would obviously like the same level of protection and security for both children, not to mention restricting any accidental purchases!
Is there any way to change his date of birth from mine to his?  I have read other similar posts with the best solutions apparently to fudge the date of birth so that the child is older than 13 years old.  I would like to do this properly rather than lie about his age...
    Thanks in advance

You can not change the date of birth on the account. You are explicitly told this when the account is created.
The ID you created is yours, not your son's. If your son is under 13, then to claim it is your son's ID is to say that you committed a crime when you created it. Create a new account for your son.
Inform the school that if they are instructing parents to do this because the children are under 13, they are potentially criminally liable. They should know better.

  • I can't change the date on my photos. i click on adjust change and date and it does not give me the earliest date to change

I can't change the date on my photos in events. I click on adjust date and time of selected photos and the date that I can edit is the oldest photo date and not the earliest. Help?

iPhoto should be showing you the date of the first photo you selected.
What do you want to achieve? It should not matter, which photo you select to adjust the time, because all photos will be corrected by the same fixed increment, if you use "Adjust Date and Time".
If you want to set all photos to the same time, use "Photos > Batch Change > Set Date to" instead.

  • Can we change pricing date for line item in billing

    Hi Expert,
Can we change pricing date , while raising inoice for particular line iteam

    Hi,
We can not change the pricing date for perticular line item at billing document level, the only option is we can enter the required date at the time of invoice creation in VF01 screen.
If your requirement is copying the same pricing date that is entered at sales order, then do the following.
Go to T Code:VTFL and choose your DElivery Type and Billing Type, then choose your item category and then change the pricing type as 'D' .

  • Urgent- Can we change the data in an Approved sales order

    Hi Experts,
Can we change the data once the Sales Order is Approved. If not Is there a solution to be done through SDK or B1 itself. Any help will be greatly apprieciated.
    Thanks
    John

    Hi John,
Unfortunately it cannot be done. Because if you are not able do it manually or by User Interface then it will not be possible by SDK or any other approach,as far as I Know.
Meanwhile you can create a duplicate of the approved document. Make changes to that. And Close or Cancel the approved one.
    Hope it helps.

  • How can I change the date "taken" on individual photos in iPhoto?

How can I change the date "taken" on individual photos in iPhoto? I have some photos that were scanned and the date "taken" info displays the day the picture was scanned as opposed to the date it was actually taken. Is there some way to edit this information?

In iPhoto '11 on your Mac use the command "Photos > Adjust Date and Time" and enable the "Modify original files" option, if you want to set the date of the originals to the correct date as well.

  • How can I change the date on the top of the screensaver on my iPad air?

How can I change the date at the top of the screensaver?  It still has the date I purchased it.  I tried the date and time and resetting the ipad.

What do you mean at the top of the screensaver ? If you mean the wallpaper image that you have as your background, and which also shows on the lock screen, then you can change that image via Settings > Wallpapers & Brightness - did you take a screenshot on the date that you bought your iPad, and that screenshot included the date on it ?
On my lock screen, if that's what you mean by screensaver, then the date that shows below the time is picked up from Settings > General > Date & Time e.g.

  • Can we change the date of cost center

Can we change the date of cost center with we have already created????????

    Hi Shivika
Changing a date can mean many things.. Example - You created a CC from 01.01.2014 to 31.12.2015
If you want to have the Validity from 01.01.2013 now, create the CC from 01.01.2013 to 31,.12.2013 from KS01
If you want to extend the validity till 31.12.9999, again do the same.. KS01 -> Create from 01.01.2016 to 31.12.9999
If you want to shorten the validity i.e. say, You want the CC to be valid from 01.01.2015 instead of 2014, then you can delete the CC from KS04 for 2014 provided no data is posted (plan or actual)
