Can't change items on OS 10.5 Finder Side Bar

All the sidebar will show, regardless of changes made in the Finder Prefs, is hard disks, no folders. I've trashed the .plist for both finder and sidebar and restarted, but change. Please help. Thanks!

It should allow you to just drag the User preference folder to the desktop. When you reboot, it creates a new one. If you can copy the folder to the desktop, try dragging the original to the trash and reboot. Then test.

Strange Items Under Shared Devices In Finder Side Bar

I have file sharing on for both my lap top and imac. Each shows up under Shared in the finder side bar. And I am able to connect to either one if I click on them. However two other devices show up as well. These two devices do not exist. When I use "Get Info" for them it indicates they are PC servers. I don't have any such thing. One of the items actually has a hyphenated version of my base station name. If I click on that one it says "connection failed". If I click on the other one it says "connected as guest" but nothing shows up in the window.
Is there anyway to delete these items/devices or at least keep them from showing up? And why are they showing at all?

I appreciate you taking the time to look. My 3 macs are now displaying only other Leopard computers. The strange ones have disappeared. One strange listing did look like my airport express base station. I have a 2nd express airport which servers to play my itunes. I, also, have two PCs on a Linksys wireless network and a wireless printer on my airport network.
Have no idea why the strange additions have disappeared. In an attempt to get them to disappear, I did shut down & restart each computer (Macs & PCs), unplugged and replugged both express airports, turned off then on the printer, and unplugged and replugged the linksys wireless router connected to my DSL modem. My goal was to isolate the equipment causing the strange listings. No luck. Could only modify the strange listing by totally taking down the wireless network at the DSL modem. Then, after returning from working at a client's; everything looked normal. ?????

I assume that you also have Pages on your computer (or some other capable WP program). I also assume that you have eliminated any unnecessary columns, so you have a 1-column table in Numbers.
When it comes time to print, Copy the entire Table: Click on the table name in the Sheets Pane and Command-C.
Switch to Pages, open a blank WP template and set the number of columns to 3 or so. With the Text Insertion Cursor flashing on the first line of the first column of the blank template, Command-V. Your table should paste into the Pages document as an Inline Object and will Wrap on the page as you desire. Then Print in Pages.

In MM, Item category customization can not be changed. It comes with SAP and doesn't allow us to change. Only a combination of "item category and account assignment category" can be changed.

How can we change Item per Sales Unit if define Wrong

Hi all,
I facing an item that the Item per Sales Unit in Item Master Files had define in wrong quantity. Initialize quantity for Item Per Sales Unit is 10. After they said want change to 8 because of they define wrong. The System doesn't allow to change once had transaction.
Besides creating a new item code, is that any other best solution to change item master ->Item Per Sales Unit?

How can I change the default "search criteria" in Finder?

I can't seem to find any way to change the default search criteria when I search for a file in Finder. I have to select "show search criteria" and deselect the criteria every time I search for a file.. annoying!

When I do that it just makes a Smart Folder search, which I can save and put on the side bar, then click on and use, but does not allow me to open Finder, type in the search field, and go. Any other ideas?

The reason I did not respond was that I don't think that your answer solves the question of top level containers (specifically JFrame). I have been researching the net and some of the text books to come up with an answer before I respond. To this point, I believe that the answer has something to do with changing the boundary. If this is the case I'm within four or five hours of the solution, and will publish. If not, back to the drawing board.

Can You Change the Highlighted Button in the Find Font Palette?

I have several hundred spreads that I converted from Quark to InDesign CC and a few fonts are missing, so I need to replace them. I can use the "Find/Replace" window to take care of most of them using the "find format" function, but one doesn't show up as a choice, so I have to change it using the Find Font palette. I select the missing font name and then select the replacement. Then, if I hit the "enter" button on the keyboard, the palette closes because the highlighted button is the "Done" button. Is there a way to change the highlighted button to the "Change All" one?

Thanks for the reply. I tried using the tab key and although it does change the highlighted button, you can't just press "enter" to select it. I also tried ALT+A (option+A) and it did nothing. I should have mentioned that I'm using a Mac.

I can not change background mountain lion from the Finder

Hi, my problem is:
when I boot the pc I can change screen-> right click-> change desktop background.
But later if I want to change it again this does not answer. If I try twice changes the background
I do not know if the problem is my computer or failure of mountain lion. In Lion or Snow didn´t happen.

Are you using an external display? I've had this happen with an external display. I reset PRAM and all was sell.

Can I change the background color of the Google Tool Bar?

The current Google Tool Bar has very light white letters on a black backgound. This makes it difficult to use. do you have a replacement which makes it difficult to see and therefore use. I would like a tool bar with a lot more contrast.

How can i delete items in my safari folders in tool bar?

for instance, in my news tool bar, I want to delete a few unwanted links.
I tried dragging to trash, and also control click, to no avail.
I see its easy to add, you just drag in your toolbar window to the folder you want.
But how do I discard unwanted links in my news folder in my safari toolbar?

Hi,
Go to the LEFT side of the the Bookmark menu bar.
You will see a little open book, Click on it.
If you don't see the little Book or hold down these keys Option-Command-D
Now you can ad or delete the Bookmarks and complete folder you down't want any more.
Just select one or more Bookmark ad the same time an press the DELETE KEY on you keyboard.

Firefox upgraded itself and now bookmarks from the last two years can only he "searched" but can't be seen in the list on the side bar or in the manager

I was running 3.5 and firefox did a little upgrade on it's own. Now I can't see any bookmarks I've added after 2009 in the bookmarks manager list or sidebar but if I search something I know I added it will show up with a date when I added it in 2010 or 2011 but I cant see these in the list without knowing what to search for. I only seem to have one "profile" I have tried restoring back to old bookmarks from the weekend with no success, and I even upgraded to 3.6 but no luck. Is there an addon or extension that could be blocking my view of the rest of my bookmarks?

Not sure about the middle click, I only used a two button mouse until recently, and maybe you could have subscribed differently or used some add-on.
Firefox 4 does not at present show the RSS icon in the location bar, but does have a customise option providing a button, or ass-ons can put one back in the location bar.

The listings do still show icons differently if already viewed, and if links are displayed the read and unread ones may display differently. This depends partly on how the page you view is set-up by the feed provider.

The BBC site may have changed the option on that feed, clicking the option is to open individual tabs or all the tabs, there is no separate listing, or explicit news page option now, however left clicking the option ''Open "Latest Headlines"'' at the bottom of the RSS listing goes to the BBC news home http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/
Compare that with another feed from the BBC :
