Can't change primary email Apple ID

Hello,
Apple Website refuses to allow me to use another email address due to the fact that it has been used as a secondary email previoussly.
Website: https://appleid.apple.com
Originally i gave [email protected] as primary and [email protected] as secondary.
I removed this secondary email address, added a new secondary address.
So now only [email protected] is primary and [email protected] is secondary.
When I go to change the primary address, website says that the address is in use as a secondary address...
So even if [email protected] is now deleted from Apple website, it is not accepeted, as if it's still there....
I hope this can work. I hope [email protected] is not stuck in neverland as it is my primary address that I use every day..

That's very problematic because my presently primary adress -which is my mail address at my university - won't work anymore very soon because the university changed its name and consequently the mail addresses
Unfortunately the new university address which is now my primary address...was .the secondary adress I gave previously

You cannot change a *.mac, *.me or *.icloud email address - any Apple issued email address cannot be changed. Only non-apple issued primary email addresses are editable.

How can I change Primary Email Address to icloud email?

I have an apple id been using for many years. I would like to change the primary email address. I would like to create a new icloud email address and use that as primary email for my apple id.
When I try to do this in the Manage Apple ID it says that I cannot pick an email address associate with apple domain.
How do I do this???
Essentially I would like to start over with an icloud email address but keep all my existing itunes purchases etc. If I create a new Apple ID with icloud email id I am hosed and cannot copy over my purchases. If I stay with existing Apple ID, I can change primary email address but I can't use icloud email.
Any suggestions??

While you can't currently change your Apple ID to a Mobile/iCloud email address, I found a solution that helps with a related problem.
Suppose you've recently got an iCloud email address, but Apple are still sending all your iTunes Store, App Store and Mac App Store receipts to your old gmail address (the one that's still your Apple ID). And suppose they're also sending all the Apple Support Communities notifcation emails to your old gmail address. How do you change it? How do you fix it?
Well the option exists, but it is hidden away in a weird place. To get Apple sending all of their receipts and notifications to your new iCloud email address...
• Go to your country's Apple Store website http://store.apple.com/
• Click on the Account button in the top-right corner
• Under Account Settings, click on Change your default shipping or billing info
• Sign in with your usual Apple ID and password
• The email address listed under Payment Information is the key
• Click on Edit next to Payment Information and change that email address to your iCloud address
That's all you have to do.

I login to skype using my microsoft account. I recently changed my email address on my microsoft account and my skype address changed automatically and allows me to login to skype with not problems. When I go to my account in skype the primary email address is my old email address. When I change the primary email address skype askes me for a password but when I enter it, it gives an error message that it is the wrong password. How can I get my primary email address for my skype account to change?

Issue when changing primary email address of Apple ID

I consider this mail as bug report of how Apple handles multiple email addresses on Apple ID.
Pre setup:
Primary email: "email address"
Additional address: "email address 2"
Iphone installed with "email address" and
Steps to do on appleid web page:
1 - Change password (was forced)
2 - Remove "email address 2" from additional mail addresses list
3 - Change apple ID primary "email address" to -> "email address 2"
4 - Add "email address" to additional addresses list
Result:
Primary email: "email address 2"
Addidional address: "email address"
When you try use iPhone, it asks login to iCloud (correct behavior, password has been changed). But iPhone does not ask for login, it asks password for "email address".
If you try remove "email address" iCloud account, iPhone asks password for "email address" to remove "Find my phone". Device cannot be removed from iCloud web page so iPhone is "locked" to "email address", and this cannot be changed.
Alternative Apple ID "[email protected]", also listed on additional email addresses list. You CAN'T change alternate Apple ID, but you CAN remove "[email protected]" from additional mail list. This must be bug!
Another bug: You CAN'T select primary email address from 'additional mail addresses' list, you MUST remove address from list first, then you can change primary address to that removed address. You should able to use own verified address as primary apple id address.
Also removed addresses must be re-verified every time after removing.

I had a similar problem, which prevented me changing my personal data on iCloud/apple etc. I found the answer on the apple web-site, "appleid.apple.com".
This site lets you change your primary country, and so lets you use the app store.

I have changed primary email on my Apple ID Account because this mailbox was closed, and unfortunately i changed address on my other, and now i can't sign in in the changed Apple Id account. this mailbox has closed I couldn't verify the changes. Tap on the id in Settings > iTunes & App Store (or at the bottom of the Featured tab in the App Store app or Music tab in the iTunes store app) and log out of the account and then log back in with the updated version.

this should give you the opportunity to edit email adressed

If the iCloud account ends with an @icloud.com, then that is something that you cannot change it. If that is not the case, then you will need to sign out and may need to change it back to the old Apple ID to do so.

There is no way to merge two Apple IDs as all purchases made with each account are always tied to those accounts.
All you can do to each account is change the email address for each one but they can't have the same email address.
