Can't charge and sync at the same time?

I just bought my iPad 2, and noticed that I can't charge it and sync it at the same time like I can with the iPhone 4. I can if I have it plugged directly into my MacBook, but I use 2 different USB Hubs, and I have the iPad plugged into a hub. Is there a fix for this?
The iPad is running iOS 4.3.
The MacBook is running Mac OS 10.6.6

I have a Griffin PowerDock, and having upgraded the software on my iPhone 3GS to IOS 5.1, I am able to charge and wirelessly synchronise simultaneously.
I am hoping it will be the same for the iPad that I am planning on buying soon, although this will have to be a wall charge because of the extra power needed by the iPad.
The fact that IOS 5.0 allows wireless synchronisation will probably stop any further development in this area by Belkin and Griffin.

  • How can I charge and listen at the same time?

I'm using a windows PC and the USB connector. If I plug the cable in, iTunes automatically opens and I get the "do not disconnect" message and can't play music.
If I eject my iPod from iTunes, it doesn't charge anymore.

You can listen to the music on your iPod through iTunes. Just click on the nano icon where the library and store and playlists are and hit play at the top. If you want to listen to it while charging, you can do that by using a wall adapter to charge. I do this at work when my battery starts to get low.

  • Can I stream and sync from the same itunes library to one AppleTV?

Can I stream and sync from the same itunes library to one AppleTV?

From what I can tell this is a bug.
A very Frustrating bug. When the take 2 update launched I was streaming movies via "shared movies" from my synched computer without any issues. However after a couple of recent iTunes updates all the "shared" menus stopped appearing and I can no longer stream anything from my main computer.
When I open up my macbook though everything streams fine, all the "shared" menus immediately appear.
Numerous restarts, factory resets and reinstalling the 2.0 software have done nothing to help this issue.
If anyone has any more light on the subject it'd be great to hear. Also I'm not sure which update broke it because I went about a month not using the apple tv.

  • IPod Touch 4g won't charge and play at the same time

I used to have a 4g Nano that I would play in my car through an aux cable and charge through a cigarette lighter charger. I just got a 4th gen iPod Touch and it no longer lets me charge and play at the same time. If both wires are connected it will only charge and not play, once I pull the charger part out it will play through the speakers. Is there a fix to this? Do I need a different charger so that it won't think it's simply docked?

You would need to turn off hard drive mode via iTunes iPod settings on your home system to do this. I don't know if you have this mode on or off already. I thought I read that there is a way to enable/disable hard drive mode via the iPod buttons but I don't remember how.
    Thanks,

Can Iphone5s surf and talk at the same time?

You can find the answer here:

  • Can I surf and talk at the same time on a verizon iphone?

I've heard that Verizon iPhones don't allow users to talk and surf at the same time. Is that true? I'm not keen on going to AT&T. If it's true, will it ever change?

Yes. It is true because Verizon runs on CDMA which doesn't allow for surf and talk at the same time. AT&T runs on GSM which allows for surf and talk at the same time.

  • Charge and Listen at the same time?

I am new to the IPOD experience, and I am listening to my IPOD Nano at work, without ITUNES. I want to listen to the IPOD and charge it at the same time. But it seems while the IPOD is charging, the "do not disconnect" icon is blinking, and I can't play any songs. The only thing I can do is "eject" the IPOD, and then I can listen. But even though it's plugged in, I don't think it's charging. I tried to download my music to some other media player on my office computer, but no luck. I am not allowed to download software, so I can't put ITUNES on my desktop. Any advice?

even though you "eject" your ipod, it is still charging. and listening to it while it is chargin is okay.

  • Charge and connect at the same time

I'm still waiting to get an N8 so can anyone tell me if it's possible to connect up a charger at the same time as using USB to connect a keyboard/mouse and external storage device via a powered usb hub?
In other words, can I use USB devices while it is being externally powered?
What about when it's using a dock that I've briefly seen on some youtube videos?

Sorry, but we're not allowed to speculate about future releases on these forums.
    Cheers!

  • Charging and listening at the same time?

Is there a way to play and charge the Shuffle at the same time??

Well considering that the charging/data USB cable and the headphones use the same jack, it doesn't seem possible. Maybe a y-cable would allow it, but some of the contacts in the headphone jack may serve two different purposes depending if the iPod is charging or playing, so may not be able to do both at the same time.
On the other hand, you may be able to play the iPod through your computer while charging it. Set up the iPod for manual mode then if you plug it into a computer with iTunes installed, you can play music out of the iPod on your computer.

  • Does MagSafe 2 T Connector get hot when charging and using at the same time (while the light still in amber) ?

    Hi,
Just want to check out with the other Apple Users here. I am using a Late 2013 rMBP, however the T Connector do get hot while I am charging and using the mac at the same time. Is this normal ? or do I have to drop by an Apple Store to check it out ?
    Thanks in advance

    Hello there.
It's quite normal for the magsafe 2 connector (magnetic one) to become a bit warm while it's charging your mac. It will be warmer when your battery is low and the heat will start to dissipate as the battery charges. There is absolutely nothing to worry about. Normally your magsafe can go upto 35℃ depending your surrounding temperature. Even mine does. Just remember the warmth should not be untouchable, if that is what you feel take to a apple genius bar to get it checked.
    Hope that helps.
    Thank you.

  • Can't play and import at the same time...

Using iTunes 7.3.2 - playing songs stall/skip while importing CD in Apple Lossless format. Any suggestions appreciated - Thanks!

Don't play the songs while importing them.
The CD is trying to read to import & play at the same time so it's jumpning all over.
In addition, it uses a lot of processor power to encode to Apple Lossless.

  • Adobe Media Encoder CS5 - Can we crop and resize at the same time?

Flash 8's video encoder, use to let you crop (cut x amount of pixels out) and then resize  a video (and in that order it did it).
CS5's Media Encoder is confusing, from what I can tell it cannot do both, you either can crop or resize but not both. ANd if you can do both, you definately cant crop before the resize. So which is it?
Resizing made sense last, because you could put in new values for the resize nad figure out how much you need to crop out.
Please help this is driving me insane.

Everyone in my office has the same problem!
We really need an alternative to AME both because of the crop/resize problem and many other seamingly random issues with preview and export.
    Adobe Media Encoder sucks...

  • Manually manage music and syncing at the same time.

As my music is growing larger, but my iPhone's memory isn't. I change to manually manage musics on the phone. When I change details of the song e.g. adding album artist or lyrics. iTunes doesn't sync it for me. Do I have to manually do this by myself like adding and deleting the old ones every time I make a change.
Another question is that, when I make a change to my playlist or making a new playlist on my laptop, there's nothing happening on my iPhone. Is there a way to make it automatically does that on my phone as well? Or do I have only one choice which is to go back to sync the library?

Just make the changes then add the song to the iPhone.
You don't need to first delete it from the iPhone.
    FYI: You can autosync.
Create a playlist then sync only that playlist.
Add/delete from that playlist to change what is on the iPhone.
Any changes will get sync'd automatically.

  • How can I charge 15 iPods at the same time?

I have bought 15 iPods to use in my classroom but I hadn't thought about how I was going to charge them.  I thought about a USB hub but am not sure if this would work? Any ideas greatfully recieved.

I doubt a regular hub will work since it will not provide enough power. They share the power.  Look at:

  • Can't scan and type at the same time

for some strange reason, I can't type in any window while I'm trying to scan something with my scanner through preview.
as soon as i close the scanning window, it's fine, but as long as it's open, I can't work on anything else.
I don't know if it's because of the new software update for the OS or something, cuz this has never happened before.
I have an HP Officejet Pro printer and scanner.
