Can't choose folder to export jpg from illustrator

i have installed adobe illustrator CS 5
i want to export the file into jpg file but i can't choose the folder to place the file.
i chose file>export>choose the format to jpg> and after that i can't click the folder which i want to place, and i cant hit the export button on the bottom
can anyone help me with this problem?

sorry, when you say the system info does it mean
im using ASUS A51LB-WX090D running windows 8 64bit (6.2 build 9200) intel core i7-4500U CPU 1.8ghz RAM 4gb
or is there more information that i should provide? pls help me know.
there is no specific folder where i cant choose to save. i can't even place the save destination on the desktop and there are no dialog box or anything. i just can't click anything after choose the export menu

Exporting jpgs from illustrator

When exporting a RGB (web) jpg out of illustrator the colour breakdown of my red changes from 255/0/0 to either 254/0/0 or 255/1/1. anyone know why this is happening and know of a fix?
i know it seems petty but i am creating brand assets and the client is insisting on it being correct.

How do I now export jpgs from my final cut pro x?
They seemed to have changed it in the new version.

From the Share popup select Add Destinations. You see it in the Destinations preferences.

Digital photo professional - export JPG from RAW

Hello!
i have a problem with program Digital photo professional, when i want export images from RAW format to JPG.
The problem is, that quality of image is much more worse, then in RAW format in DPP. JPG looks blurred and fuzzy.

1. open *.CR2 (raw file) in DPP
2.file/convert and save
3.type of file - EXif JPEG (JPG, JPEG)
4.image quality 10
5.output resolution 350dpi
6.check - embed icc profile in image
There are not another settings, so i dont know, why has exported JPG so bad quality...
When i open *.CR2 file in PS5, i see the same bad quality as exported JPG from DPP, but i read, that PS5, cannot
open CR2 file in best quality, because PS5 doesnt have all function, that have DPP.
I tested it on two PC, so problem is not only on my PC...

Getting darkened/ washed out colors when exporting png from illustrator

Hey everyone I'm trying to figure out a remedy for this, I am getting darkened less saturated colors when exporting a logo png from illustrator, jpeg's looke fine, even when copying this logo into indesign and exporting the colors look fine there as well. I think it has something to do with the icc profile being embeded in jpegs but not pngs, but I'm not sure. My illustrator document is set to display blacks accurately, document color mode is set to RGB, assign profile is set to working RGB: sRGB, and under color settings working space is sRGB and cymk is U.S. Web Coated SWOP v2, color management policys off for RGB and conversion options Adobe ACE (all under the color settings options). I've also tried to create a new file for web and copy and pasted my logo and tried to export that way and it didn't do anything. Any jpeg will look fine, the png even in save for web will look fine until I export or preview. My only current remedy for png at this point is to export it as is, then open it in Mac's Preview and turn up the saturation. Any help would be appreciated, I'm also using Illustrator CC and am on mac 10.7.5, thanks.

Any other solutions? I notice if I open the AI file in photoshop and export the png from there with "embed icc profile" checked then I get the same colors that I see while in illustrator, and when I export jpegs from illustrator, but exporting pngs from illustrator always changes the color/ makes the colors look duller.

How can I preserve non-alphabetical layer order from Illustrator to After Effects?

I'm using Illustrator and After Effects CS5. When I import an Illustrator file into After Effects, I'd like to maintain the order of the layers as they were in Illustrator, but they always come in alphabetically. How do I keep the original order from Illustrator?

The comp is always in the same order, the order in the project panel folder that is created is not and there's no way to force it to be. It makes no difference to the project.
If it's really important to you to have the layers in the Project Panel Folder in the same order as the layers in Illustrator File and the comp you can adopt a more friendly naming convention in AI. I always create my layers in Illustrator using Cmnd/Ctrl + Alt/Option + l because this gives me the opportunity to name the layer when it's created. With a little advanced planning and a published naming convention you'll have just what you want in no time. You could even write an action that automatically created and named layers for your default projects.

JPG from Illustrator not showing properly

Hi,
I'm using Illustrator CS4 to make still images like backgrounds and other stuff for my videos. I export them as JPG using the "Use artboard" export option in Illustrator and select "All" so all the artboards export at once.
I end up in this case two differents backgrounds named "image clip-01.jpg" and "image clip-02.jpg".
When I import them into Premiere, I can see my two differents images in the Project and Source Panel, but if I drag them into my sequence, those two images become the same. I mean the image number 01 looks like the image number 02. So even if I have two different images with two differents names, the first one preview is not showing in the sequence. I'v double check , re-exporting etc, same thing. Rename the files. Same thing.
The only way I can have my images to properly show is when I export them one by one in Illustrator. It's ok for two images, but when I have several of them, it's pretty annoying.
Any ideas how to fix that?

What happens if you Open those JPEG's in Photoshop, then just Save them, and Import. Do they now show the proper Image?
Are you using PrPro CS 5, or 5.5? There was a Bug in CS 5, where Still Images did not show correctly, and the little trip through Photoshop solved the issue. I believe that CS 5.5 fixed that.

I have created a custom made pattern in solid black in Illustrator and would like to use it as a defined shape in Photoshop, can I do this?

First, create the pattern in Illustrator and save it as a pattern swatch. Apply the pattern to a certain size squares to your liking, expand it, then flatten the transparency copy and paste from Illustrator to Photoshop as a path/smart object.
From there, you can define it as a pattern in Photoshop.

Depends. If you are talking about "pixels" in reference to Illustrator's page rulers, no. Setting Illustrator's rulers to "pixels" does not set them to pixels. It sets them to Points. For example, if you..:
1. Import a 100 x 100 px PNG file into Illustrator.
2. Scale it to 50%.
...then Illustrator's rulers, set to "pixels" will indicate that the PNG "measures" 50 px. Illustrator's rulers are displaying an object measure, not the number of actual pixels contained in a raster object.
If you are talking about exporting an Illustrator file as a PNG, then its number of pixels will depend on the settings you use when you export.
So again; describe fully and precisely what you are doing.

[JS] Export jpg from each page with specified number from database

Hello,
I imported a database into InDesign (CS 5 with OS X 10.7.2), so that every product and product number is on a different page in InDesign. Now I need to export each page to a jpg-file. The name of the jpg should be "productnumber.jpg".
I found the script „PDFExportCropper.jsxbin“, which does what I want but creates pdf-files instead of jpgs.Thereafter, I can convert the pdfs to jpgs automatically with Photoshop.
But: The script takes hours and hours to create the pdf-files: Right now, more than 8 hours for only 100 pdf-files. The database has 65.000 products!
Any idea to improve the workflow? Any other script available which I did not find but does what I need?
As a designer, I have no experiences at all in scripting.

In line 20, I have now the following code:

Is this the right way, to get the actual page?
Also I would like to know, how can I export the images cropped to their "box"? How do I have to change my script?

Can't see my PS exported jpg's in Lightroom 4.3

Hi,
I recently had my hard drive replaced by Apple and did a clean install of my programs, no Time Machine.
I have LR 4.3 and CS5. I have always chosen the Edit in PS CS5 option from LR for editing individual RAW files. When I save my photo in PS, I save it as a jpg. Once back in LR, I would have to synchronize the folder in order to import that new jpg and it would show up alongside the original RAW file. Well now, after upgrading to 4.3, synching won't see that new photo that was created. It IS in Finder, but LR doesn't see it.
I have expanded stacks and no filters. Is there anything else I have to do?
If I use Filters/Metadata/File Type, no jpg's appear.
The only way I can see the photo is if I use the Text filter and write .jpg.
How can I get the jpg to show alongside the original RAW file again??
I'm also getting the "File must be saved as a copy"in the PS dialogue, when I save as jpg. Before, it would just save it as the file type is different.

I had not noticed my files showed the CR2+JPG on the file. Here's what I found in the above-mentioned link:
You are working on the raw file. The JPEG is pretty much invisible in LR; the only indication is the CR2+JPEG that you saw. The JPEG is handled as a sidecar file, meaning that if you move, delete, or rename the file the JPEG will get moved/deleted/renamed along with it.
And if you want to work on the CR2 and the Jpeg as separate files, you'll need to check the option to "Treat JPEG files next to raw files as separate photos" which can be found at Edit>Preferences>General Tab.
Note, however, that if you check that option this will only effect subsequent imports. Previously imported Raw+Jpeg 'pairs' will remain that way, but to get access to the associated jpegs you could right-click on the containing folder in the Folders Panel (after you've checked that option) and select "Synchronize Folder", this will find the jpegs and give you the option to import them.
At last I have my jpg's right alongside my RAW files again!

URGENT- Exporting jpg from LR with title and captions: how?

Hi,
I need to email some pix before midnight.
In LR metadata section I have info (title and caption). I did export pix as JPGs but can't find the info when I open the pictures now in a folder on my desktop.
How can I make sure the info is attached to the photo? Should I uncheck "Minimize metadata"?

Is there a way I can create a folder that contains images from many different catalogs?

Id like to be able to put all of my select images in one folder so I can easily find images to develope at any given time.

Do you have 1000s of photos per day every day, so millions of images in total?
I have 1.5 years of shooting in 1 catalog, as many images as fit on my external drive, about 50,000, and all are divided into separate folders by day and subject, having folder names with date_event/subject/location format, sometimes several per day, i.e. 2013-07-04_Fireworks, 2013-12-25_ChristmasMorning. This allows me to find a subject or event quickly using merely a file-system search operation without having to open my catalog. Because I automatically save XMP files for each image, I can even open a folder in Bridge and see my edits for just that folder without going into LR.
When my hard-drive fills up, I Export-as-Catalog a month or a quarter’s worth of images in their own catalog and remove them out of the current catalog, and moving those images and their corresponding catalog to a pair of archival hard-drives. I also keep a separate catalog for important events—I mostly do just personal photohobbyist shooting, but occasionally something else.
If you currently have your daily images separated by folder, already, then create a new, empty catalog and import the daily catalogs into it, perhaps renaming the folders from within LR, as you go, so they contain the date and subject of the images, if that daily categorization is important to you. Having them split by days at the folder level is fine, but having catalogs also split by days seems like organizing a 600 page book into 600 2-page books, one page of text and one page of index entries.
You can do just a few to start with, and work backwards in time, as you have time.
I should say that when I first started shooting with a digital camera, I categorized things by subject: dogs, children, whatever-park, downtown, nightlife, astronomy, etc, maybe a dozen categories, and just dumped all the pictures into those folders. Eventually I started to take too many pictures and there were too many in each folder, so I started categorizing by date and subject, which helped immensely. This was before LR existed, but once it did, I just imported everything into a catalog, using drag-and-drop and had everything in once place but still separated by folders.

Can't choose folder for screen saver

Hi, I just updated to the newest intel security download and now I cannot choose a folder when changing my screen saver. I can choose a folder for desktop background but the option for screen saver is not there anymore. Does anyone know what happened or how to get that option back? Thanks.

I find that sometimes I lose the option to choose a folder for the screensaver, without any warning. How are you accessing this control panel? If you do it by right-clicking (or the equivalent; I have a 2-button mouse) on the desktop, try accessing it instead through "System Preferences" on your Dock. It's dumb, but it seems to work for me. Good luck.
