Can't close a program "ConfigMod.main"

After I downloaded an application to lock my screen, I always have a program called "ConfigMod.main" poping out all the time. I can't close it and shut down my macbook...
I tried various anti-vitrus software, but didn't work. According to Activity Monitor, it is like (**** = my name)

There is no currently known Mac malware that installs anything called ConfigMod.main. This isn't malware, it's part of some software you installed. I'm a bit unclear on what software that might be, though, since Brigadoon Security Group is not involved with QuickLock. That is made by a different company.
If you have uninstalled QuickLock appropriately, using whatever uninstaller is provided, then either that ConfigMod.main process is not part of QuickLock or the uninstaller is not functioning properly. If you just dragged he app to the trash and didn't use an uninstaller, then you will need to contact the company to find out how to remove the other components. (Or, you could just reinstall it, then use the uninstaller to remove it.)

Force Quit the application from the Apple menu.

  • IPhoto ejected my memory card mid import but is saying that there is still an import in progress.  I can't close the program or shutdown my computer.

I was trying to import some photos (probably close to 300) and iphoto ejected my memory card in the middle of that process.  The photos have not been imported, and now I can't close iPhoto, or even shut down my computer (macbook pro) because it keeps saying that Iphoto is cancelling restarts.  I've tried to close the program but it doesn't seem to be working.
Does anyone have any tips on how to get iphoto to shut down mid import?

  • Can't close a program, can't delete it

I'm trying to delete a program (Epson scanner monitor), but every time I try to send it to the trash I get a message saying "cannot be moved to the trash because it is open" The program is unresponsive in every way (which is why I want to be rid of it). When I click on it nothing happens, it doesn't open, nothing appears in the dock, yet i'm always told it's open. Even when I restart the computer, and the first thing i try to do is delete it, I get that same message. How do I get rid of this thing?!

  • Does anyone else have this problem - I can't close iTunes!

Does any else get this really annoying problem? When I run iTunes, after a while the 'Accessing iTunes Store' display line at the top of the screen gets stuck (the stripey horizontal line just shows moving stripes forever). When this happens, I can no longer access the iTunes store AND I can't close the program! iTunes has not actually hung though, and I can still play music. The only way I can close iTunes is by killing it using Task Manager. If I click on the close icon, nothing happens.
I had this problem on version 7 and it's still there after upgrading to version 8. I might even have had it on earlier versions, I can't remember. Also, I had the same problem on another PC! When I transferred my library and account details to the new PC, the problem came with them.
I really like iTunes, but I'm totally fed up with this ridiculous problem which I've now had for a long time. I can still buy music as long as I do it before the problem hits. But it always happens eventually (after say 30 mins? Maybe less). iTunes diagnostics is no help. It always tells me that everything's working fine.
    Any help, very much appreciated.

QUite a lot of freexing problems have been associated with Bonjour. This FAQ tells you what it does and how to temporarily disable it as a test.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2250?viewlocale=en_US
If turning off bonjour solves your problem and you don't need what it does you can uninstall it and iTunes will still work.

Hello there, you have posed to the applescript discussions.
If you are using 10.4 (Tiger) can I recommend you post here:
    http://discussions.apple.com/forum.jspa?forumID=758
You could try force quit (hold down command-option-enter) and choose the programs that are unresponsive.
Or you could hold down your power key for some time, and you machine will power down (yes you have lost your work)

  • Can't close iTunes 7.7

I just installed the latest iTunes update. Everything went as usual, and my iTunes has always worked nearly perfectly, but now I can't close the program. It works just fine, but when I close the window it hangs and I have to end the program through the task manager. Once again I try to keep everything up to date and I get burned....great.

Please stop blaming ESET NOD32 (old or new versions)
I have been using them for abt 4 years now.
NOD32 just checks for the shared network library, which is piped between iTunes and its additional new tool, Bonjour. Nod32 finds this interconnection pointing to networked resources but there is nothing at the other side of this pipe, so it goes in a loop - coming back, asking Bonjour for the reply and then going back to the networked resources.
Since Bonjour doesnt find anything on the other side.. it just keeps looking, doesnt terminate its search.
So if u uninstall or disable Bonjour, it works just without any problems.
If you tweak ur Nod32, that is fine but i wudnt want to leave any hole or place on my system which isnt protected... its my system after all.. and i dont want to fiddle with my AV, especially whens it involves the STATE-OF-THE-ART ESET Nod32.
I have spent more than half of my life working on Digital Security, Malwares and compromised Networks - dont want to change my lifestyle just coz a newbie Bonjour makes my AV go look for something that doesnt exist!
    Cheers!

  • How do I close a program or app?

I have an iPad Air 2.  This is my first Apple product.
How can I close a program or app?  It seems like once I open a program or app like Chrome it remains open and I can not close it.  In Windows I am used to clicking on an "X" at the top right hand corner of the program.
Is the easiest way to switch to another open program or app to press the button at the bottom of the tablet twice and then selecting?

    iOS 7-8
Double-press the home button and find the app which you would like to close and swipe it up.
    iOS 6
Double-press the home button and tap and hold the app you would like to close. Then press the little "-" in the corner.
    Hope this helps!

I used to be able to run 8 to 12 windows at a time and NEVER lock up or crash with the older version. Is this problem being looked into and or being corrected. I use Firefox with Google and my system is XP Pro 32 bit. THIS IS REALLY making me MAD. My email is [email protected] and would appreciate a response to this ASAP. I have tried a couple of items from your help section and nothing works.

*'''<u>NOTE for IE:</u>''' Firefox and most other browsers use a Plugin. IE uses an ActiveX version. To install/update the IE ActiveX version, same instructions as above, except use IE to download the ActiveX installer. See: [[ActiveX]]

Erin I am sorry you are facing difficulty downloading the Creative Cloud software.  It can be frustrating when you do not have access to high speed stable Internet.
You can attempt to download the base installers and updates by following the directions listed at:
Adobe CC 2014 Direct Download Links: Creative Cloud 2014 Release | ProDesignTools
All Adobe CC 2014 Updates: The Direct Download Links for Windows | ProDesignTools
You may want to attempt to utilize some form of download management as the main issue seems to be the stability of your connection.
There is not currently a method to resume downloads within the Creative Cloud Desktop application.  There is download management included though it may not be enough to compensate for the current Internet connection.  If you are curious you can find additional details on how to resolve download errors at Error downloading Creative Cloud applications - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/error-downloading-cc-apps.html.

  • Can't get itunes.  I get the following message when I click on either the shortcut or the program.  It says ITunes has stopped working and I can either check on line for a solution and close the program or just close the program.

When I click on the itunes shortcut or the program  I get the following message:
ITunes has stopped working.  My two options are:  Windows can check on line for a solution to the problem or close the program.
It seems that my entire library is not there.  If I sync my ipod will it add it back into my library on the computer?
I've even tried installing again and nothing works.  Tried the "repair" and it says that ITunes is loaded but I stil get the above error when I try to open the program.
    Thanks
