Can't close my icloud session

I can't close my icloud session on my friends Imac.
Please help me, we cannot do any thing else, everything is so so slow.

Many thanks,

Not sure what you mean by 'iCloud session' - iCloud runs in the background and you don't start and stop it. Are you accessing it in a browser such as Safari? If you can't exit it there then press commane-option-escape and choose the browser in the list, then force quit it.

  • Close/cancel iCloud Account.

Since I subscribed to iCloud, I am having trouble with my email accounts.  It is necessary that I close my iCloud account. How can I close my iCloud account?

Sign out in System Preferences (or Settings)>iCloud. If you have been using iCloud for email and syncing all that data will disappear from your Mac/device as the data is held on the iCloud server, so you will need to transfer it to your Mac first - in the case of calendars and contacts by exporting as .ics and vCard files respectively and in the case of email by dragging your mails to a mailbox under 'On My Mac'.
You cannot actually delete the account from the server but if you sign out and ignore it it will have no further affect on you. However there is no reason why an iCloud should have an adverse effect on other email services, which would be set up separately in the Mail application, so you might want to look into what actually is causing the problem.

  • How can I close an AppleID/iCloud account that is no longer used?

I have 2 MobileMe addresses that were moved to iCloud. As we all know, AppleID's cannot be merged. All of my purchases are under my main AppleID/ iCloud account. I just want to close the 2 I am not using. Has anyone ever successfully done this?

You can't close accounts or ID's, you can only stop using them by deleting the accounts from your iOS devices.

Have you tried a soft-reset ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider if it appears), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

i lost my i phone and i cant find him becouse my child close my icloude on the phone funcction , there is any way i can turn it on from my pc ?thanks

No, sorry.  The only way to do anything remotely would be to have the find my iPhone setting active in your iCloud account on the device.  If that setting has been disabled, then there is no way to track nor to send commands to the iphone remotely (it would be like trying to turn on a light from a switch that has no wires connecting the switch to the light).

  • After attempting to update iOS, iCloud keeps loading, can't close it either.

I received the announcement about software update and installed it, but after the restart the iCloud window won't close, saying it's loading. I can't close it in any way either, it's been this way for hours. I can't turn off my macbook either, until system preferences are closed which I can't do.

So apparently comand-option-escape was the help I needed. Resolved. Thank you.

  • Endless "Your iCloud session has expired" messages - any solution?

I seem to have two related and incredibly annoying problems for which I have been unable to find a truly effective, long-term solution after extended web searches. Everything I try doesn't truly fix the problems, which I suspect are related ones:
    1. In the course of normal usage of iTunes (ever since beginning use of iCloud), I frequently get the message "Your iCloud session has expired" and I am prompted to re-enter my password. When I re-enter it, everything works - until 5, 10 or 15 minutes later, when it pops up again - and again. I haven't been this annoyed since I dealt with the constant "Nervous Nellie" security popups on Windows XP. Is there any way to get iCloud to calm down?
    2. Similar deal with iTunes Match. Almost every time I turn on any Mac with it enabled, iTunes Match will not actually work. I have to sign out from the iTunes Store, then sign back in, click iTunes Match, click "Add computer" (even though this is the same computer over and over again) and wait about 2 minutes to go through the activation and matching process again. Then it works fine. But should I close iTunes, shut down my computer, etc. and come back to use iTunes again, it's the same crazy routine all over again. Can't use it properly unless I sign out, sign in, re-activate iTunes Match, etc. Driving me crazy. Both iCloud and iTunes Match could be such tremendous services, but this buggy nonsense is hardly worth my time. Basically, a waste of $25 at this point.
Oh, by the way, iTunes Match works fine on my iPad 2 and Apple TV (never need to go through this song and dance).
If anyone has encountered either of these errors and found a solution, I'd be most grateful to hear about them.

Okay, I found additional help for the first problem on this forum. The threads I was hoping to finally appeared when I posted this question. I followed the advice posted by the community and it seems to have worked: Go into Safari > Preferences > Privacy > Details > select "apple.com" and click Remove (thanks to BasementJack and JHdeVilliers). What I do not yet know is whether or not I'll have to repeat this action now. But it's a good start. However, iTunes Match is still a mess - no improvement.

  • ICloud session expired, verify payment info

I fix one thing with iTunes/Match/iCloud and something else breaks.
First - if you are seeing "grey" track titles in iTunes after deleting a track and attempting to re-download it (this is assuming you have successfully matched you library, which took my 5-6 days of retries), look at the Cloud icon next to "Music" on the left hand menu.  If it's animated, close iTunes and re-open it...  that seems to work for me.
    My current problem:
Everytime I log into iTunes it asks me for my account password (iTunes) to deal with automatic downloads.  I get this, and I guess I'm okay with it, even though it's an incredible pain.  I figure that I can avoid this by disabling "automatically check for downloads" on my iTunes setting.
Here's what I do not understand...  if i'm in the middle of using iTunes for anything, but most often downloading, it will stop all downloads and do the following:
    1) "iCloud session has expired" and force a re-login
    2) "You must verify your payment information" and force an acknowledgement
    3) Takes me to the iTunes Store account page and forces me to enter my credit card security code
If I'm lucky enough to get through that process without getting completely booted from iCloud, I can resume my downloads.  If not, iTunes gets hung on the iTunes store page and nothing happens when I click "done".
My problem is that this is happening each and every time I download.  I'm re-downloading iTunes tracks 10 at a time (not a huge load, smaller than an album download) and it happens without fail.
I read somewhere that this may be a system clock issue, but my clock is sync'd with Apple servers.
I've also read that this is an iCloud server issue, in which case, I guess I'm screwed.
Can anyone just verify whether this is a iCloud issue or a local client issue and if the latter, can I do something on my end to fix.
Just a note - I love Apple and I'm a committed fan.  I even purchased MobileMe for 2+ years (yes, I know, I need therapy for that one).  I even use iWeb and defend it vigorously to my friends and family who thought I was throwing money away for something that could be done easier and cheaper elsewhere (and I'm still defending, even through Apple killed my MobileMe web space and gave me no documentation on how to get my site ported to another hosting service - thanks Apple).  My point: I'm trying my damnedest to buy into the Apple ecosystem but it is getting harder, and harder and harder to do so.  I'm spending hours maintaining all of these systems (iOS devices, AppleTV, homesharing, iCloud, Match, iTunes accounts, Photostream, blah, blah) that in no instance work reliably and consistently.  And, by the time I get them working, something else breaks or a service is changed.  And, to add insult to injury, Apple is NO WHERE to be found on these forums, they release NO documentation for these services, and the users are left to fend for themselves in these forums.
Apple - you need to get it together...  committed users like me who have given you a huge share of our time and money have options.  None are as "elegant" as the Apple ecosystem, but they are catching up.  If it's near impossible to maintain my Apple ecosystem, perhaps it's worth the pain and effort to try another one, e.g. Google or Amazon.  This is the last thing I want to do, but I'm tired of browsing your support discussions.
Final note - thanks to the users for posting and replying on these forums... without you, this would be impossible.

For some reason last time I did this it took a few goes to get it right - eventually I realised that despite having a title with my name in my Account Settings, the cc payment page did not have my title specified  - it did not update the details properly until i reset the title dropdown which was blank.

  • What is the proper way to close all open sessions of a NI PXI-4110 for a given Device alias?

I've found that, when programming the NI PXI-4110 that, if a the VI "niDCPower Initialize With Channels VI" (NI-DCPower pallette) is called with a device
alias that all ready has one or more sessions open (due to an abort or other programming error) a device reference results from the reference out that has a (*) where "*" is post-fixed to the device reference where and is an integer starting that increments with each initialize call. In my clean up, I would like to close all open sessions. For example, let's said the device alias is "NIPower_1" in NI Max, and there are 5 open sessions; NIPower_1, NIPower_1 (1), NIPower_1 (2), NIPower_1 (3), and NIPower_1 (4). A simple initialize or reset (using niDCPower Initialize With Channels VI, or, niDCPower Initialize With Channels VI, etc.) What is the proper way to close all open sessions?
Thanks in advance. Been struggleing with this for days!

When you Initialize a session to a device that already has a session open, NI-DCPower closes the previous session and returns a new one. You can verify this very easily: try to use the first session after the second session was opened.
Unfortunately, there is a small leak and that is what you encountered: the previous session remains registered with LabVIEW, since we unregister inside the Close VI and this was never called. So the name of the session still shows in the control like you noted: NIPower_1, NIPower_1 (1), NIPower_1 (2), NIPower_1 (3), and NIPower_1 (4), etc.
There may be a way to iterate over the registered sessions, but I couldn't find it. However, you can unregister them by calling "IVI Delete Session". Look for it inside "niDCPower Close.vi". If you don't have the list of open sessions, but you have the device name, then you can just append (1), (2) and so forth and call "IVI Delete Session" in a loop. There's no problem calling it on sessions that were never added.
However - I consider all this a hack. What you should do is write code that does not leak sessions. Anything you open, you should close. If you find yourself in a situation where there are a lot of leaked sessions during development, relaunching LabVIEW will clear it out. If relaunching LabVIEW is too much of an annoyance, then write a VI that does what I described above and run it when needed. You can even make it "smarter" by getting the names of all the NI-DCPower devices in your system using the System Configuration or niModInst APIs.
    Hope this helps.
