Can't comment or like on Facebook, what do I do?
I can post on a Facebook main page, but can't comment or like on posts by others and threads. Downloaded Facebook for iPad. This app doesn't show posts by others. Any solutions, tips etc?
Quit it and try again. ( to quit you must open multitasking, double-tap home button and hold down the icon and press the minus). If that doesn't work, delete the app, download again. And after download, restart the device.

I've tried clearing all my history, cookies, and everything else on Firefox, but it doesn't fix the problem.
Whenever I try to comment on a post in facebook it says "Unable to post comment." And it won't let me like any posts either.
Google Chrome works perfectly with Facebook. I don't want to quit using Firefox, but unless I get a solution soon that may be what I have to do.I have exactly the same problem.
It only affects FaceBook and only in Firefox but it's really annoying.
I can post status updates but can't comment on them or on anything else.
The message "Unable to post comment." with the option to "try again" appears every time.
Also, when I try to "Like" something it's as if it works for a split second and then self "unlikes" again. It's only today I've started to have this problem.
I've tried jscher2000's idea but it did not solve this problem.

Check the image exceptions: Tools > Options > Content: Load Images: Exceptions - See [[Options window - Content panel]]
A way to see which images are blocked is to click the favicon (''Site Identification'' icon) on the left side of the location bar.
A click on the "More Information" button will open the Security tab of the "Page Info" window (also accessible via "Tools > Page Info").
Open the ''Media'' tab of the "Page Info" window.
Select the first image and scroll down though the list with the Down arrow key.
If an image in the list is grayed and there is a check-mark in the box "''Block Images from...''" then remove that mark to unblock the images from that domain.

Cannot comment or like on Facebook using older version of Firefox.
Whenever I try to Like something on facebook, nothing happens, and when I try to comment, if I write further than the small existing chatbar, it will not scroll to allow me to see what I'm typing. When I hit Enter to make the comment, nothing happens.
I'm concerned that Facebook simply won't work properly for me because of my old version of firefox (3.6.28), however I cannot upgrade to a newer version because of the age of my computer (running OSX 10.4.11), and I'm not in a position to get a new computer right now, so I'd like to see if I can find a fix.
I have already tried clearing my cookies and cache, I've checked my plugins for problematic ones, including "Effective Measure Community Plugin 3.1.0 (by Effective Measure Pty Ltd)" mentioned in another thread (it wasn't there) and disabled those it listed as being known to cause problems. I've checked to make sure my JavaScript is up to date and enabled. I've tried turning off all add-ons, and the possible combinations of some on, some off. I've tried adding a cookie permission for Facebook. So far, none of these fixes have been effective. I haven't been able to try troubleshooting in Safe Mode, because the option to run in Safe Mode is not listed under the Help dropdown menu.
Is there anything I haven't tried that anyone knows of for fixing the issue, or is my browser simply too outdated?I don't know what versions of Firefox they test against at Facebook. It certainly is possible that some of the scripts have been updated so far that they have become incompatible. Might need to pose that question to Facebook.
First, though, you might test in a clean profile. This will bypass your accumulated customizations and extensions and give a truer answer to "is the problem version 3.6"? A new profile also will have completely fresh settings databases and a fresh cache folder.
Exit Firefox and start up in the Profile Manager as described in [https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Managing+profiles Managing profiles]. Any time you want to switch between profiles, exit Firefox and return to this dialog.
Any difference in how FB works? If the issues are resolved in a clean profile, you might experiment with add-on settings and see whether that could be an issue. -
Unable to post comment or view likes on Facebook.
Since Sunday I have been able to comment or 'like' in Facebook and can't view other peoples comments.
I have no problem in IE.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox. Deleted cookies, run virus scan.Reload the webpage while bypassing the cache using '''one''' of the following steps:
*Hold down the ''Shift'' key and click the ''Reload'' button with a left click.
OR
*Press ''Ctrl'' + ''F5'' or ''Ctrl'' + ''Shift'' + ''R'' (Windows and Linux)
*Press ''Command'' + ''Shift'' + ''R'' (Mac)

Stated above, I have issues with Facebook and my iPad 2. I have updated the operating system, but the problem started before that. Can't click on like or enter comments. Problem started about a week ago. Sent email to Facebook and they responded that they don't answer individual emails but read them. Lots help that was.
Facebook is basically broken, at least as far as it pertains to mobile browsers. THey changed something in their coding and now mobile browsers don't work with facebook. ANd their app, well their app has been less than stellar for a long time.
Unfortunately, it's up to facebook to fix things, not apple. All you can do is find work arounds. Look for third party apps, I have one called Facely HD which seems to work reasonably well (even though it does seem to not see all posts). There may be others that work better. You can also simply not access facebook on your mobile until they fix it.
It's all on them and users can only be patient or find other ways to work around it. -
i have windows xp. i just got the computer and internet on it. i downloaded adobe flash and real player. but i still can't get sites like facebook and youtube to work. i always get popups that ask if its a trusted site and to add the exception, which i do. yahoo and msn work, i can see photos and pictures and images just fine, but facebook and youtube are still all just words and error messages. any suggestions besides what i've already tried? i'm not tech savvy so step by step is how i learn best!
Check the date and time and time zone in the clock on your computer: (double) click the clock icon on the Windows Taskbar.
Check out why the site is untrusted and click "Technical Details" to expand this section.
If the certificate is not trusted because no issuer chain was provided (sec_error_unknown_issuer) then see if you can install this intermediate certificate from another source.
You can retrieve the certificate and check details like who issued certificates and expiration dates of certificates.
*Click the link at the bottom of the error page: "I Understand the Risks"
Let Firefox retrieve the certificate: "Add Exception" -> "Get Certificate".
*Click the "View..." button and inspect the certificate and check who is the <b>issuer of the certificate</b>.
You can see more Details like intermediate certificates that are used in the Details pane.
If <b>"I Understand the Risks"</b> is missing then this page may be opened in an (i)frame and in that case try the right-click context menu and use "This Frame: Open Frame in New Tab".
*Note that some firewalls monitor (secure) connections and that programs like Sendori or FiddlerRoot can intercept connections and send their own certificate instead of the website's certificate.
*Note that it is not recommended to add a permanent exception in cases like this, so only use it to inspect the certificate. -
Why Firefox 25.0 does not show Google ads and Facebook comments and likes. All other browsers do.
I've just upgraded to FireFox 25.0 and I have issues viewing Google ads and Facebook comments and likes on my website (wellfitstyle.com). All other browsers show Google adds in the right sidebar and Facebook comments and likes under each post. Great number of people in Eastern Europe (where I am) use FireFox and I would like to know how this issue can be fixed.
