Can't configure iChat encryption.

My iChat encryption setup never completes/succeeds. If I look in the Accounts -> Security section of iChat's prefs It says Encryption being activated and a spinning cursor, then after a while a message appears telling me it can't activate encryption and I should do it via the account setup. I try this and then the process repeats.
Anyone got any idea what's (not) happening?

Enable iChat encryption on two machines sharing on .Mac account

I have a desktop and laptop system that I synchronize using .Mac. I have set the keychain file to be synchronized between the system, and have enabled iChat security on one of the machines. I therefore have an Apple certificate and keys for iChat and my .Mac mail. The keychain containing these certificates and keys is shared, and present on the other machine. However, I am unable to activate the iChat security on the second machine. (Mail has automatically picked up the certificate, and is able to secure mail without a problem.)
How can I enable iChat encryption on the second machine?
Note: both machines are 10.4.4, and allow multiple logins is enabled on both machines.

The iChat help says:
Make sure you have a paid .Mac account and that it has not expired.
Make sure you and your buddies are using Mac OS X v10.4.3 or later.
Make sure the .Mac Secure iChat certificate is in your keychain and has not expired. To check, open Keychain Access, located in Applications > Utilities, and double-click the .Mac Secure iChat certificate to display the expiration date.
Make sure the date and time are correct on your computer.
If your Secure iChat certificate is not in your keychain, and you have used secure iChat on a different computer, sign into your .Mac account to install a copy of your Secure iChat certificate on your computer.
If you are unable to retrieve a copy of your Secure iChat certificate from the .Mac website, you may need to copy your certificate from the other computer and install it in your keychain on the computer you are using. To do this, locate the certificate in your keychain on the computer you have used to secure iChat. Choose Export from the File menu. Copy the exported certificate to your other computer, and double-click the file to open it in Keychain Access. Choose login from the Keychain pop-up menu and enter your administrator password if necessary.
Make sure you are chatting with buddies in your Buddy List, not your Bonjour or Jabber list.

I asked at a Hong Kong apple shop if they had password protected external drives. They didn't, I bought one anyway.
I'm wondering can I configure this drive. If yes, what do I need to do?

IChat Encryption with MobileMe certificate

iChat has been encrypting my chats/video without issue until recently. Although the user I am talking with and I both have working non-expired MobileMe iChat certificates, iChat has not been encrypting our chats anymore. Any idea on what I could do to fix this? I have no idea where to even start looking.

All MobileMe accounts (Whether the primary account of a Family Pack or a sub account) can use encryption.

I have the same .mac account on my iMac and my MBP. 10.5.6. I can enable iChat encryption on the MBP, but not the iMac. I've deleted the preferences for iChat on the iMac and started over. Still cannot enable encryption. Ideas? Paul

Make sure Mail & Notes is selected.
ON the iPhone tap Settings > iCloud
Make sure Mail is switched on.

You need two names that can login into AIM.
In iChat you can use the Get an iChat Account which shows after you use the Plus Button in Accounts.
This will give you a free @mac.com Name

How can I configure my new Mac Pro to output the timeline via HDMI

How can I configure my new Mac Pro to output the timeline in FCP 7 (yes, I have X, but I'm using 7 right now). I have two monitors running from TB2, but want to have the third for a client monitor.
If I use all three via TB2, it's literally three monitors, and I want to edit on my CineDisplay. I only want the client to see the timeline video on the third monitor. When I hook up HDMI I get no signal, in fact, I can't have the HDMI cable hooked up for TB2 to work with the third.
