Can't connect 2 xbox360's to homehub 2

Hi,
Both myself and my son have xbox360's, both are in upstairs bedrooms. When he is connected on live, playing with his friends mine will not connect and it doesn't matter how many times i try.
My son has the older whire version and i have the newer 360s black version with built in wireless.
I have spoken to the xbox helpline who have said the problem is to do with my homehub and both xbox's are fighting for the one ip address. Is this correct?  And how do i go about rectifying it.
Any help would be gratefully received.

  • Can't connect to network drive in Homehub.

    Hi,
I want to connect to a USB stick plugged into the back of my BT Homehub so I can use it to wirelessly back up my mac with TM. I have plugged it in, but when trying to map the drive, I get 'This file server is available on your computer. Access the volumes and files locally.'. The drive can't be accessed locally with the 'Network' in Finder because it's not mapped, so I get an empty Network folder and I can't connect it. I've used afp and SMB, but both return either 'This doesn't exist' or 'This file server is available on your computer. Access the volumes and files locally.'.
    HELP?
    Tony

Actually, on second thoughts, TM drives have to be Mac OS Extended format, and Homehub only works with FAT32 drives so it wouldn't work anyway. Oh well.

  • Can't connect 3DS and android devices to HomeHub 3

Ok, devices that won't connect are:
    Nintendo 3DS
    Advent Vega Android Tablet
    Orange San Francisco Android Phone
My 3DS connected when I first bought it. but now I can't connect to the homehub at all, when I scan for wireless networks, where the Homehub should be, it just shows an empty router, doesn't show the SSID or security type.
With the two android devices, they show the SSID ok, but they don't recognise the security type, they show the network as open (when it actually has WPA2 encryption) - thus it doesn't give me anywhere to put in the passphrase
Anyone else had any trouble with these and know of any fixes?

sometimes interference from other wifi devices around your area can cause this...HH3 is normally on auto search for the best channel on wifi, and pressing the wifi button or reseting can resolve the problem, glad you have sorted it
    Q. There is smoke coming out of my open reach box... so can I have a new one.
    A. Sorry sir, The fault is showing at the exchange so your box should be ok.

  • Help! can't connect to homehub!!

we have 3 laptops in my household, one of which belongs to my dad and he doesn't have a problem at all.
my brother and myself can't connect to our home hub at all.
on the wireless settings on our laptops it tells us "connected with limited availability", (either that or not connected), neither of us can access the internet at all when it does this.  i've only been able to connect once since christmas.
my dad assures us he has not changed any thing at all, no settings etc.  he wouldn't put any parental restricitons on either as we are both in our 20's and use the internet regularly for banking, facebook etc. my company now does it's wages and overtime booking online so it's something i need to access!!
we have tried disconnecting & reconnecting our laptops to the homehub, resetting the homehub and still no good.
my dad seems to think that because he can connect there isn't a problem and so won't do anything about it!
    any ideas?
    thanks!

I am haviing a similar problem, however if i connect via bt openzone or bt fon, connecting using my own home hub i have internet access, I have to reset the hub to connect without "limited access"
Some  things you can do the settings differ slightly depending on your Operating System.
Make sure your preferred connection is first in the list in your wifi connection manager.
Make sure connect only to preferred device(s) is checked.
Make sure that you check the box for infrastructure mode only, to prevent any adhoc connections.
     I hope that helps.

  • How can I connect my 30" HD Cinema Display to my XBox 360?

Indeed, I presently own an old '30" Apple Cinema HD Display with Aluminum Enclosure,' in which I typically connect to my 15" Macbook Pro via a 'Mini DisplayPort to Dual-Link DVI Adapter'. I presently use it for my CG Design work and often for streaming movies online, but the big question now is: Can I connect my display to my XBox360?
I've done a bit of digging already, and I've found a good amount of information regarding connecting my XBox to my Mac, so as to further run it through a window on my screen. Thing is, I don't want to connect it to my Mac to run it through my screen, I want to connect it to my screen!
    So, anyone? Anyone at all?
    Thanks,
    KaT

I think (not sure since I don't have a UPS) it depends on the UPS and what the form of the power wave is (full sine wave, etc.).

  • HH4 - can't connect to it via ethernet or wireless

I'm struggling with intermittent fault - it happened on a HH3, but same problem is now beginning to repeat on a replacement HH4 I was sent.
When fault manifests itself (lets call it "faulty mode") I cannot connect wired or wirelessly to HH - I cannot raise the Homehub Admin page either via "bthomehub.home" or "192.168.1.254" and that is true for all It devices in the house (Win xp box, Win7 laptop and a rasp pi).  When this fault is apparent there is no internet access, and pure wifi devices (kindles and android phones) all are unable to access internet, and an ethernet connected youview box also loses connectivity to internet.
However - HH is obviously still working to an extent, because a both wireless and ethernet connected devices can all interact on the network, files on the NAS remain streamable and browsable by everything that needs to connect.
I have FON, and that still operates correctly when the HH is in "Faulty mode" - ie my wireless devices can all connect through it to the internet, and that FON connection is definitely coming from my HH not from a neighbours - if I power down the Hub I have no FON connections showing up in any of my devices.
HH has all the lights showing properly...when in faulty mode the devices I can browse to on the network have 169.type Ip addressess rather than 192. addresses.
Reseting the Hub and or powering it on and off sometimes makes the fault go away, but often it doesn't.  Factory reset sometimes cures it, but again often it doesn't.  System has sometimes gone into faulty mode whilst just working away sweetly, with no It equipment being powered up/down/connected/disconnected. I've tried tricks like clearing caches  used different browsers chrome/FF/IE but no avail.
I noticed this initially with a HH3 - that got gradually worse (more faulty mode incidents until it remained in faulty mode) BT sent me a HH4 about 1 month ago as a replacement, now the same symptoms are appearing on my HH4 (twice in 3 days)...so what's the problem, is it my settings/something I should be doing, or is it a duff HH4 as well.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I think a clue to what is happenning is the 169.xxx.xxx.xxx IP addresses.
These show a failure of the connecting device to obtain a valid DHCP IP address from the router, and the 169.... gets auto-assigned by the device itself. On a network, devices all with 169-type addresses can communicate with each other, as you've found out.
So the problem that needs fixing is with the DHCP server in the router, which is not serving valid IP addresses when requested.
Here are two things you can try, maybe do the first with your PC and the second with another device, see which works better for you:
    - Assign a static IP to the device by setting it in Windows. Set it outside the router's DHCP range but with the same first three parts to the IP. eg 192.168.1.201. There's a guide here.
    - In the HH DHCP admin pages, reserve a fixed IP for another of your devices, using its MAC address, again outside the DHCP range. While you're at it, set the lease renewal time to its maximum.
If those don't work, send the blooming thing back!

  • DVI Connection XBOX360 to Satellite P100-429

    Hello,
Can I connect my XBOX360 to my laptop using the DVI connection?

    Hello Stephen
As far as I know DVI port on Satellite P100 is Video OUT port and you can not sent video signal from external device into notebook.

  • How do I setup a Guest Account on a TC that is connected to a BT Homehub?

I am trying to create a guest account to allow friends and family to access the wifi network through my TC that is connected to a BT Homehub.   However when i try to update the setting on the TC Utilities I either keep getting a conflict with the DHCP setting or the TC can not be seen by my iMac.
Could anyone please help to keep my network secure.

The correct setting for your TC when it is connected to another router....the BT Homehub is a router.....is Bridge Mode. The Homehub is technically a "gateway"... a device that has a modem and a router on the same chassis.
    AirPort Utility - Manual Setup
    Click the Internet icon
Connection Sharing = Off (Bridge Mode)
In order to configure the TC to enable the Guest Network, the TC must be connected to a simple modem, not a gateway, or router.

    Hi,
Someone has been using my internet and cauing me to go over my usage!!

I tried going to http://bthomehub.home but chrome tries to do a google search.
How can I get back online and change my wifi password so that my neighbour doesn't steal my internet connection?

  • Can't connect to Internet or bthomehub.home throug...

I've had BT Broadband (Homehub 3, not Infinity) since the start of June without any problems. This morning at about 8:15am it stopped working. I can't connect to the network on any device (although it is visible), and if I plug directly in through the ethernet cable I can't even connect to bthomehub.home or 192.168.1.254 (page not found on both).
All three lights on the front of the box are blue and not flashing. Resetting the router (factory or just with the Reset button), movnig it to another phone socket, or leaving it turned off for 10 minutes all have no effect. I can't get it to work with a variety of devices (Android, Windows, Smart TV). No configuration changes have been made to the router. I've replaced the microfilter too.
If I plug directly into the router with an ethernet cable and run Windows Network Diagnostics it says ""Local Area Connection" doesn't have a valid IP configuration". Again, I haven't modified any settings within my machine or the router.
    Any advice greatly appreciated!

can you not entyer the hub manager by entering 192.168.1.254?  you do not need an internet conenction to enter hub manager - just to see if hub will allow access or is it knackered and needing replaced

  • Wirelessly connecting MBP, TC and homehub

I have a MBP, and time capsule and a BT Homehub.  I want to connect the 3 wirelessly but am having troubles.
I don't have access to the Homehub as living in a shared house so the usual option of plugging the TC into the homehub can't work for me.
Can I use the dual-band wi-fi on the TC to achieve a wireless connection between the three?  Can I use one of the wi-fi bands on the TC to connect to the Homehub and the other to connect to the MBP to give internet and backups wirelessly?  So the MBP would connect to the TC's network.
Does anyone know how to set this up?

So the three can work together wirelesly but not in my desired set up?
    Yes
I can wirelessly connect the TC to the homehub by setting it up to join the homehub network and then the MBP gets its internet network from the homehub and backups occur across the homehub network? So MBP backs up via the homehub?
    Correct
To do this, when setting up the TC, is the join option on the same screen as create network or extend network?
Apple does not really want you to configure the Time Capsule this way, so you have to use the Manual Setup option to do this.
Open AirPort Utility - Click Manual Setup.
Click the Wireless tab below the row of icons
Hold down the option key on your Mac while you click on the Wireless Mode selection box and the "Join" option will appear
You will have to specify the name of the wireless network to be joined and enter the exact type of wireless security and password that the HomeHub is using.
If everything does not match up exactly, you will see an error message and you have to factory reset the TC and start all over with the configuration to try again
Also, when set up this way, is the back up speed slow or not really affected?
Backups will occur as quickly as the wireless network allows. If multiple users are on the network at the same time, things are going to be much slower at that time.
The Ethernet ports on the TC are not enabled when it is configured to "join", so you will have to backup using wireless. You will have to allow a lot of time for the first Time Machine backup since all of the data on your Mac will be copied over. A good time to do this would be overnight.

  • Can't connect to BTFON with IPOD Touch?

Help please - am connecting to my Homehub fine with my IPOD Touch, however when I try to connect using BTFON I get an error message saaying this Wi-Fi Hotspot is temporarily unavailable.

No I can't connect manually either.
It also won't connect to BTOpenzone - just to my homehub.
Is it the openzone associated with your own homehub or another location, there have been instances where the public side of the HH has locked up stopping connection with it, a reboot "should" clear the lockup

  • How can I connect my 3gen apple tv with HDMI to my bush LCD32TV022HD which does not have an HDMI port but does have 1)S-Video I/P, 2)Video I/P, 3) L

How can I connect my 3gen apple tv with HDMI to my BUSH LCD32TV022HD
This does not have an HDMI port but does have:-
    1) S-Video I/P,
    2) Video I/P,
    3) Audio Input (Left & Right)
    4) Audio In jack (for VGA and DVI source)
    5) DVI input
    6) VGA input

    Welcome to the Apple community.
The Apple TV doesn't officially support a DVI connection, however you may be able to get it to work. You will first need to check that your TV supports either 720p or 1080p as well as HDCP. If you are able to get the video working over the DVI connection, you may also require a DAC in order to connect with Apple TV's optical audio output to the TVs audio imput.
You may well wish to make sure that the DVI connection works before spending any money on a DAC..
