Can't connect canon pixma mg3222

I download the driver from canon website (I choose the right version-window 8.1 64bit)
I connect my printer to my computer by USB cable(the USB cable is not broke)
At first it says printer detected and then some minutes later it says can't found a printer or can't connect to the printer, I'm not quite sure. I just reinstall my OS and now I can't install the driver. It drives me crazy, I try three different computers and none is work
Please help me, thanks very much.

Hi slimfit,
Do you have another USB cable that you can use to connect the printer to your computer?  Also, if you disable any antivirus or firewall software that you have on your computer and then attempt to reinstall the printer, does it install successfully?

  • Windows XP computer can't monitor Canon Pixma iP5000 printer status

I just replaced old wireless router with Airport Extreme. Attached Canon Pixma iP5000 and can print using Bonjour, but the Canon BJ printer status applicaton (shows ink levels and reports printer issues) is not working (apparently can't communicate with the printer) on my main computer (Compaq Presario running Windows XP) which is attached to Airport Extreme by ethernet cable. Any suggestions on a solution?

To my knowledge this kind of ability wouldnt work but it all depends on the printer drivers aka "software" as when you have the printer connected to the airport express or extreme its being used via a print server where as the software included with the printer may not support such as most manufacturers intend for the printer to be connected directly. There are however some manufacturers such as hp and so on that do have printers designated as "network printers" that do have such ability to be monitored over the network via software for supplies, status n etc.
To sum it up though from what i can see on the canon website it doesnt look like this is going to work. You can print to it but as for the other features as ink monitoring it looks like unless its directly connected you cant use it.

  • Can't install canon pixma mp 980 for wireless printing

I've installed the canon pixma software for the mp 980 and ran the connection test and got a very good connection. When I try to add the printer , I've clicked on "More Printers" and it scanned to look for drivers and didn't come back with any results. I can't get the printer to show up in the list of available printers.
My Macbook is connected to the LAN wirelessly and the printer has been set up to print wirelessly. I have a Windows machine on the network that can print to the printer.
    Any suggestions?

It could be a WPA key issue but I have never had such a problem with my MP980 to confirm this. You could try temporarily disabling the encryption and then seeing if the printer can be found. Note that you will have to reconnect the printer via USB to set the changes in the machine.
If disabling the encryption does not help, then I would ensure that you can ping the IP address of the MP980. If you don't get a reply, then it would indicate that something went wrong with the network setup and this is why the device is not seen in the More Printers > Canon IJ Network menu.
If you do get a response, then there could be something blocking the advertising of the printer, such as the internal firewall of the Mac. This has to be set to 'Allow all incoming connections' for the printer to be seen.

  • Can't print Canon Pixma via Airport Express

I am at my wits end. I can't print to my Canon Pixma 830 when the usb is connected to the aiport express (I can print when plugged directly into my ibook). I upgraded my base station to v6.3 from 6.2, and did all basic troubleshooting (restart, unplug/replug, etc.) and still no luck.
    Any suggestions?

The Canon UFR2 and CAPT printer drivers for OS X do not work when the printer is connected to the USB port of an Airport device, or even a 3rd party print server. This has always been a limitation of the Canon UFR2 and CAPT for OS X.
FWIF - The Canon inkjets work fine with the printer connected to the Airport USB port.

  • Connecting Canon Pixma 860 Printer Wirelessly

OK, I give up! Can someone please give me the steps on how to connect my Canon Pixma 860 printer wirelessly to my iMac? I am running Snow Leopard, all drivers are up to date, and I have a 2Wire AT&T modem/router. I've Googled, "forumed", called tech support and prayed, to no avail. This can't be this difficult! I would greatly appreciate assistance on this. It's now become a matter of principle to me. Thanks all....

    Modesto:
I have a Pixma 800 and I assume setting up yours is the same as mine. You have to connect the printer to the computer via USB cable directly and set it up wired with the setup disc that came with the printer. After you've done this disconnect the USB cable from the computer and connect it to the USB port of your router. In my case, it is the Airport Extreme station. I'm not sure after this but I would go to System Preferences under the Apple and then click on printer and Fax. If you do not find the printer there, click on the "+" and after a time, the printer should show up because the printer driver has been downloaded. I don't know if your printer driver has been downloaded with the Apple OS software. Then click on the Pixma 800 which should show up and then click add. I'm not sure about the rest but you must first make a direct USB connection between the printer and the computer. I hope this starts you on the way.

  • Can't add Canon Pixma MX310 printer with OS X 10.10.2 Yosemite

I just got a new laptop that is running OS X Yosemite.  I have my Canon Pixma MX310 printer plugged in via USB but I can't add it.  When I go to the Add screen in preferences, in the default window, Canon MX310 series comes up.  When I select it, I have to "Choose a Driver" in order for the add button to not be greyed out.  Auto select is greyed out so I can only choose Select software which doesn't have anything for Canon or Other which is to select a downloaded driver.  Problem is, when I go to the Canon website to download the driver it says "There is no driver for the OS Version you selected. The driver may be included in your OS or you may not need a driver."  Any ideas?

  • How can I repair Canon Pixma MP550 Error B200?

How can I repair a Canon Pixma MP550 error 200?

    Hi dlp1962uva,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I understand you are trying to install your Canon printer after replacing your hard drive on your MacBook Pro. It sounds like you have done some great troubleshooting by trying to install the drivers. I did some research on your printer, the Canon PIXMA iP6000D and it appears that this printer software is no longer available through software update.
OS X: Printer and scanner software available for download
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3669
    Additional Information
Printer software no longer available through Software Update
The third-party vendor no longer provides software for the following models to download and install through Software Update. Contact the vendor or visit their website for further assistance.
The The Additional Information section where I found this information is at the very bottom of this article. This printer specifically is listed as a printer that is no longer supported by software update is the list under Additional Information. I would suggest contacting Canon to see if the printer drivers are still available through them.
    I hope this helps,

  • Can't connect Canon MP560 wirelessly using Airport Extreme with MacBook Pro

My Canon MP560 is failing to connect to the access point.  It recognizes the access point/network I would like to connect to but when I enter in my password it fails to connect and tells me to check access point settings.  I used this exact same printer but different router in my old house and everything worked well!  I'm thinking this is a Mac thing that I can't seem to figure out.  I have the lastest Canon driver updates for Mac and use 10.6.8 software on my Macbook Pro.
This is how the printer instructs me on the panel.
    a. Select Wireless LAN setup
    b. Select Easy Settings
    c. Select Access Point
    d. Enter Password
    e. Fails to connect..........
    Please help.

''To get to this feature within the AirPort Utility, go to the utility's menu bar and first choose Base Station, and then, Add Wireless Clients...''
the problem is, base station is in light gray and i can't click on it.
i re-plugged my printer into my imac so it detects it again. (it still says printer offline in settings)

  • Can't reinstall canon pixma ip4200 printer on xp sp3 32-bit computer

    Tried another forum with question:
    1. Can't print...
    2. Went to Printers and Faxes but no printer (IP4200 only printer) shown.
3, Tried to ADD Local Printer but Wizard stopped with message that "Specified Port not Known".
    4. Went to Port windows and tried to ADD port but I couldn't so tried to CREATE but I couldn't do that  -- the screen seemed to frozen in time.
    5. I uninstalled all canon printer IP4200 software/drivers and reinstalled them with no change to trying setup the printer with the xp computer.  I do get a flag in the right bottom corner saying something like "You have new hardware awaiting installation".
RESPONSE: Goto canon support website and read all manuals/brochrues then download them all printer software/drivers, and try to setup the printer again.  No different results from the first time...now I am here asking the CANON Forum for help!!
Something is NOT letting me configure printer ports.  I looked at the Harware and have not yellow flag and properties say Device is working properly.  Help, and thanks in advance.
    FLJerry

    Hi FLJerry,
So we can better assist you, please reply with the following information:
    1.  Is your printer plugged directly into a USB port on your computer, or into a USB hub or other device connected to your computer?  If into a hub, if you plug it directly into your computer, is it able to be installed successfully?
    2.  Do you have another USB cable you can use to connect the printer to the computer?
    3.  Do you have the USB cable plugged into a USB port on the front or back of your computer?  If into a front USB port, if you plug it into a back port, does the printer install successfully?
    4.  If you temporarily disable any antivirus or firewall software that is on your computer and then attempt to reinstall the printer, are you ble to install it successfully?
We look forward to hearing from you!

  • Can't connect Canon EOS30D to new I-mac

Hi, a month ago I bought a new I-mac 2.66GHZ. I have tried to connect my Canon EOS30D so I can download some images, but it doesn't appear on my desktop. The window on the camera itself keeps flashing up 'busy'.
My firewall isn't on, that's all I can think might be stopping the connection. Has anyone got any ideas? would be grateful for any advice. Many thanks.

Do you have access to a card reader?
I have an EOS350D and a 5D, I never connect direct to the camera, I use a generic "el cheapo" USB card reader that I purchased from: www.play.com
I prefer not to keep plugging things into the camera connectors, just my little foible.
Oh and welcome to the Forums.

  • Connecting Canon Pixma MP980 to Macbook with OSX 10.4.11 wireless

Hiya, just wondering if someone can help. I've gone through all the steps to set up the wireless connection. I'm stuck on the last set of steps where you add your printer through the Printer Utility.
In the instructions it says that if you click "More Printers" it should show up in the list under "Canon IJ Network" but mine doesn't. Nothing shows up in the list. I've downloaded the latest driver from the Canon site, but that did nothing. The printer said its IP address was 10.1.1.4, so I tried to ping that, but it doesn't complete.
Has anyone had any success with connecting them? Thanks.

I can print/scan via USB fine, but when I turned the printer on this morning, the IP address and subnet mask in the LAN Settings List on the printer itself were blank (Settings > Device Settings > LAN Settings > Wireless LAN Settings List). In that settings list, it also says the connection is inactive. This is weird because those settings were fine last night after I ran the Network Utility again. It's like it just forgot the settings.
I don't use those settings to print via USB, but I'm trying to figure out why when it's not connected via USB I can't add the printer to my "Print and Fax settings" under System Preferences, and therefore can't print wirelessly.
Hope that explains it a bit more!
My next step is to take it to a Canon service centre to see if there's a hardware problem, or just live with it. Makes me not want to buy Canon ever again though!

  • Problem connecting Canon Pixma IP5200R wirelessly

    Hello
My problem is this: I have successfully set up my IP5200R printer to print wirelessly in conjunction with my iMac and Airport Extreme. However, if I temporarily 'switch off' the network's WEP protection which I have to do from time to time to allow a pesky laptop PC to use the wireless network, when I later reactivate the WEP protection the printer is no longer detected and I get an error 306 when I try to print anything. I then have to reinstall the printer using the USB cable to get it back on the wireless network which is very annoying. Is it possible to toggle between WEP off and WEP on without having to reinstall the printer each time?
Many thanks, and apologies for any clumsy descriptive terms used to describe this problem. I hope you get the general idea!

  • Can't connect Canon HV20 to 2012 IMac

I have a Canon HV20 that my 2012 Imac will not recongnize. I'm using a 4pin to 9pin cable and the thunderbolt adapter.  In system info under Firewire I get
    FireWire Bus:
Warning:    Unable to list FireWire devices.
Maximum Speed:    Up to 800 Mb/sec
    Any ideas?

Went to radio shack and got a new cable, works fine now. The first cable was a Rocketfish cable. I guess it's a known issue with HV20 and the thunderbolt adapter that these cables have problems.
