Can't connect Face Time from my iPhone 4S to my iMac

Hello, I have a problem similar to one many people seem to be having, in that I can't get Face Time to connect. The difference with me is that I can Face Time connect from the iMac to the iPhone 4S but not vice versa. When I try the latter, the connect button appears momentarily on the iMac before disappearing and an alert appearing on the iphone saying that the email address I'm trying to contact "is busy"
The same applies to my MBP
Any suggestiions for fixes
I am in the UK, by the way, using O2 with wifi.

are you using the same Apple ID on both devices? If so, that is the problem. Its much like trying to call your own phone number with a regular phone, you'll be forwarded straight to voicemail.

How do I call a Mac computer with Face Time from my iPhone 4?

I just upgraded my iMac to OS X Lion and I now have Face Time on my desktop computer. I figured out how to MAKE a call from my desktop to someone's iPhone. But, I can't figure out how to call my desktop computer FROM my iPhone 4? I tapped the phone icon. Then, selected my house from my contact list. When I selected my home e-mail address, it just loaded a blank e-mail. There was no option to call that e-mail address with Face Time. Help? Oh, and I'm running iOS 4.2.10 on my Verizon iPhone 4, so I know I have the required version on my phone.

Oh, and by the way, I also just tried calling my iPhone 4 from my iMac with Face Time and my iPhone didn't even ring. Also, I've read through posts in other forums and everyone is talking about a Face Time camera icon that appears next to a contact's name. I don't have that at all. So, maybe I don't actually have the right versions of the software?

Where did the photos on the iPhone come from? What is in Camera Roll on the iPhone?
Have you tried restarting or resetting your iPad and iPhone?
Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after It shuts down, press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10-15 seconds).
No data will be lost.

On your Mac computer you would need Osx 10.6.6. You would identify your Mac with an email address which would be used as the Mac's calling Id. For the iphone you would simply use its telephone number as the calling Id. Actually you can use a separate, individual e-mail also, but it certainly makes sense to use the already assigned tel #.

Are yo both using the same APple ID for FT (settings>FaceTime> You can be Reached At) anbd are you calling the other person using the the same email address or phone number that is listed there on both devices?

I have been told that I am able to transfer with bluetooth to other non apple devices wih the iphone 5. devices are finding each other but are not able to connect. The iPhone syncs wirelessly via Wi-Fi, not bluetooth.

Can't download Face Time from App Store

I just tried to buy and download Facetime for the Mac from the App Store.
I got back this: "FaceTime can’t be installed on “Macintosh HD” because the version of Mac OS X is too new."
WHAT! I'm running Lion 10.7.3 and is up to date.
Now I did have Facetime BETA installed, but when I tried to use it it connected fine but I could not turn on My audio.
So I dumped it because when I tried to download it from the App Store it said that I needed to place the BETA version in the trash.
So I did, and then this happened.
Help me, Obi-Mac Kenobi. You're my only hope.

I used FaceTime with my mum, she had the iPad and I had my iPhone 4S. The call connects and we can both see each other, however when we talk she can hear me on the iPad but I can hear her on my iPhone. Can any one help ASAP?

Make sure neither of you is muted. Are you able to hear fine with every other feature of your phone?
