Can't connect to 192.168.1.1 EA6500 or the Internet

Hi
Yesterday my router froze and wouldn't do anything, so I rebooted the router. When it got up and running again, I couldn't connect to the Internet. I got the error 502 - bad gateway.
I can't connect to it at 192.168.1.1 or linksyssmartwifi.com. I can ping 192.168.1.1, but not 8.8.8.8.
Ipconfig /all
DHCP yes
Ip 192.168.1.117
Subnet 255.255.255.0
Default gateway 192.168.1.1
DHCP server 192.168.1.1
I've tried flushdns, release and renew and it seems that the DHCP server from the router is working.
In windows it seems that there are an Internet connection.
I don't understand this, I can't visit any websites, but Spotify works.
I'm afraid it's broken and I have to buy a new router. I've triede to reset the router.
I hope that some of you can might help me.

Try disconnecting the router from the internet (WAN port) and plugging a PC directly into one of the LAN ports. After resetting, ignore the smartwifi login, click the two checkboxes, and login manually/directly with the "admin" password and reconfigure.
If you don't want to do all that just yet, try accessing the router from the public IP address assigned by your ISP. That might work

  • Can't connect to 192.168.1.1 with WRT610N

Hi, i've been trying to add my sister's new laptop to the authorized MAC adress on the router, but i just can't get on the 192.168.1.1 administration page. When i type the adress in, the page loads for minutes, hours and even days with no result. I tired on the four computers connected to the routers but the page just loads forever and never shows.

Hi, I think I finally found the problems with not getting access to 192.168.1.1, or at least it works on my computer for now. Haven't tried it more than today, but I think this is the problem.
Turn of Linksys advisor program. Then try 192.168.1.1 It worked on my computer. The Linksys advisor loads on startup, and I think I will have the same problem again, if it starts up, so I will try to disable it in startup. I've also configured the network settings on the connection to internet protocol version 4 (TCP/IPv4) to use the following IP address of my computer (192.168.1.X), subnett 255.255.255.0 and default gateway to 192.168.1.1. Without those setting, ie obtain IP address automatically, I couldn't reach 192.168.1.1 You can manually start the Linksys advisor program afterwards, and I had no problems connecting to 192.168.1.1
I have tried every other solution mentioned on this forum, but nothing has worked for me. The most commoned answer is, reset your router or turn off the router, then it will work again. It does, but only for a day, or sometimes minutes, then its back to the same problem, with not being able to connect to 192.168.1.1 I have also downgraded the firmware and are using open DNS, but that didn't help. It seems to me that the problem is with the Linksys advisor program, kind of strange that I have read only one post mentioning that! But of course, I'm not 100% sure, but again, its working on my computer, and I can finally connect to the administration pages again!

  • Can't connect to 192.168.1.1

Hi all! I'm having trouble getting my wireless router setup. I have a WRT54GS Ver.2 router. I seem to have misplaced the CD and I tried using the quick install but it didn't work. When I look at the network settings, my IP address is not 192.168.x.x but 99.x.x.x. I'm running XP with SP1. Any advice? Please help! Thanks a bunch! VK

    check the following steps :
    1)connect the computer to the router's port#1
2)connect the modem to the router's internet port
3)there shouldn't be any cables connected between the modem and the computer directly
4)reset the router for 30 seconds and do a power cycle
5)check the ip add again and if you get 192.168.1.x , try accessing the router using http://192.168.1.1

  • Can't connect to 192.168.1.1 with my macbook. Tried reading all the posts no luck.

I've read through tons of posts and still no solution. I have powered everything on and off. I've tried firefox, safari, and netscape. I still cannot connect to 192.168.1.1 I have a befw11s4 v2. Along with not being able to connect to the setup page, my internet signal strength goes up and down constantly even though I am right next to the router.

If something does not work there is usually an error message which explains the problem. Please post the exact error message you get.
When wired to the router, open a terminal window and enter "ifconfig en0". Please post the output of that command.
Next enter "ping 192.168.1.1" and post what happens. Again, if there is an error message post the exact error message.

  • Why Can I not ping 192.168.2.1

I set up a G4 Mac 10.5.8 with two ethernet connections. Both with Static addressing. I have internet sharing turned on, with en0 being shared with en1
    en0 is 172.20.0.75, 255.255.255.0, Router 172.20.0.1
    en1 is 192.168.2.1, 255.255.255.0, Router 172.20.0.75
a laptop using 172.20.0.1 255.255.255.0 is tied to port en0
a mini using 192.168.2.75 255.255.255.0 is tied to port en1
    so the schematic looks like;
    (laptop 172.20.0.1) <--> (172.20.0.75 en0 - G4 - en1 192.168.2.1) <--> (192.168.2.75 mini)
from the laptop I can ping 172.20.0.1, 172.20.0.75
    from the G4 I can ping 172.20.0.1, 172.20.0.75, 192.168.2.1, 192.168.2.75
    from the mini I can ping 192.168.2.75, 192.168.2.1, 172.20.0.75, 172.20.0.1
but from the laptop I cannot ping 192.168.2.1 or 192.168.2.75
    Any suggestions as to why?

I'm very rusty on this ... but as I recall, ARP is local to a network - so ARP info won't be passed between your two networks. I think it would work if the laptop was told to use the G4's en0 IP address as router, and the mini was told to use the G4's en1 IP address as router. The laptop, asked to ping the mini, says "not on my network" so sends it to its router (G4 en0), which knows how to deliver it. The mini, replying, says "not on my network" so sends it to its router (G4 en1), which knows how to deliver it, so you get ping & reply.
I don't think it matters that both networks are using private address space, as they are connected by a common device, the G4.

  • Still can't get to 192.168.1.1

I posted this issue around July 7th and tried the advice given then--ping, tried a trace, and still unable to connect to 192.168.1.1. I tried connecting the desktop directly to the cable modem and accessing above and still no access. I tried uninstalling the router, but when I go to add/remove programs I don't see anything related to Linksys, and i tried to just reinstall by using the CD, but when I go thru the steps, the wizard states that it is unable to connect to the router. I feel like I've pretty much tried everything, including resetting the router w/the reset button, w/o success, so does this mean my router is toast? Or is it the cable modem provided by Comcast that I need to replace? I'd hate to go thru buying a new router only to have the same issue. Thanks so much for all your help! bailey

The router doesn't need to be installed, per se, so you won't see it in the control panel app. Maybe a utility program, but not the router. It may appear in device manager or in the windows registry... When you reset, do you just press and release, or hold for a minute? The latter will restore factory defaults and if not damaged will allow access to the web interface.

  • How can I connect my Mac Book Pro (year 2008) to the TV set through  HDMI? I've seen a DVI to HDMI iwire but I'm no sure that it is correct. Could anyone help me? Thank you very much.

How can I connect my Mac Book Pro (year 2008) to the TV set through  HDMI? I've seen a DVI to HDMI iwire but I'm no sure that it is correct. Could anyone help me? Thank you very much.

I do not know the iWire adapter, but I use an inexpensive ($3) DVI to HDMI adapter from Monoprice, along with a regular HDMI cable:
    http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=104&cp_id=10419&cs_id=1041902 &p_id=2029&seq=1&format=2
Be aware that this will only transfer video. You Macbook Pro cannot combine audio through DVI to HDMI. You will need to listen to the audio through the Mac speakers, or attach speakers or a sound system to the Mac earphone jack, or determine if your TV has the ability to accept external sound from the Mac while showing video through HDMI (few can).

What are you getting on the TV?  Are you getting a completely blank screen, or are you getting a message similar to 'no input detected'?  Or are you seeing the spiral galaxy desktop?  If you go into System Preferences -> Displays then do you have an 'Arrangements' tab?

After 1 or 2 reboot system I managed was enter my MacBook Pro my AppleID and it is connected I managed so to have the flow of "Stream Photo" from my iPhone 4 S to my iPad 2 on the MacBook. But incomprehensible how the function "find my Mac" not recognize the MacBook Pro in "iCloud.com" or App in the iPhone 4 / iPad 2. Thus I do little "see the iMac, iPhone 4 and my iPad 2" and not the Macbook Pro !?!

    Back up all data.
Unlock the Network preference pane, if necessary, by clicking the lock icon in the lower left corner and entering your password. Cllck Advanced, open the DNS tab, and change the server addresses to the following:
              8.8.8.8
              8.8.4.4
That's Google DNS. Click OK, then Apply.
    In Safari, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data
and confirm. If you’re using another browser, empty the cache. Test. Any difference?
    Notes:
    1. If you lose Internet access after making the above change to your network settings, delete the Google servers in the  Network preference pane, then select the TCP/IP tab and click Renew DHCP Lease. That should restore the original DNS settings; otherwise restore them yourself. Remember that you must click Apply in order for any changes to take effect.
    2. I don't use Google DNS myself, though I have tested it, and I'm not recommending it or any other DNS provider; the server addresses are offered merely for testing purposes. There may be privacy and technical issues involved in using that service, which you should investigate personally before you decide whether to keep the settings. Other public DNS services exist.
