Can't connect to 192.168.1.1 with WRT610N
Hi, i've been trying to add my sister's new laptop to the authorized MAC adress on the router, but i just can't get on the 192.168.1.1 administration page. When i type the adress in, the page loads for minutes, hours and even days with no result. I tired on the four computers connected to the routers but the page just loads forever and never shows.
Hi, I think I finally found the problems with not getting access to 192.168.1.1, or at least it works on my computer for now. Haven't tried it more than today, but I think this is the problem.
Turn of Linksys advisor program. Then try 192.168.1.1 It worked on my computer. The Linksys advisor loads on startup, and I think I will have the same problem again, if it starts up, so I will try to disable it in startup. I've also configured the network settings on the connection to internet protocol version 4 (TCP/IPv4) to use the following IP address of my computer (192.168.1.X), subnett 255.255.255.0 and default gateway to 192.168.1.1. Without those setting, ie obtain IP address automatically, I couldn't reach 192.168.1.1 You can manually start the Linksys advisor program afterwards, and I had no problems connecting to 192.168.1.1
I have tried every other solution mentioned on this forum, but nothing has worked for me. The most commoned answer is, reset your router or turn off the router, then it will work again. It does, but only for a day, or sometimes minutes, then its back to the same problem, with not being able to connect to 192.168.1.1 I have also downgraded the firmware and are using open DNS, but that didn't help. It seems to me that the problem is with the Linksys advisor program, kind of strange that I have read only one post mentioning that! But of course, I'm not 100% sure, but again, its working on my computer, and I can finally connect to the administration pages again!

I've read through tons of posts and still no solution. I have powered everything on and off. I've tried firefox, safari, and netscape. I still cannot connect to 192.168.1.1 I have a befw11s4 v2. Along with not being able to connect to the setup page, my internet signal strength goes up and down constantly even though I am right next to the router.
If something does not work there is usually an error message which explains the problem. Please post the exact error message you get.
When wired to the router, open a terminal window and enter "ifconfig en0". Please post the output of that command.
Next enter "ping 192.168.1.1" and post what happens. Again, if there is an error message post the exact error message. -
Can't connect to 192.168.1.1 EA6500 or the Internet
Hi
Yesterday my router froze and wouldn't do anything, so I rebooted the router. When it got up and running again, I couldn't connect to the Internet. I got the error 502 - bad gateway.
I can't connect to it at 192.168.1.1 or linksyssmartwifi.com. I can ping 192.168.1.1, but not 8.8.8.8.
Ipconfig /all
DHCP yes
Ip 192.168.1.117
Subnet 255.255.255.0
Default gateway 192.168.1.1
DHCP server 192.168.1.1
I've tried flushdns, release and renew and it seems that the DHCP server from the router is working.
In windows it seems that there are an Internet connection.
I don't understand this, I can't visit any websites, but Spotify works.
I'm afraid it's broken and I have to buy a new router. I've triede to reset the router.
I hope that some of you can might help me.Try disconnecting the router from the internet (WAN port) and plugging a PC directly into one of the LAN ports. After resetting, ignore the smartwifi login, click the two checkboxes, and login manually/directly with the "admin" password and reconfigure.
If you don't want to do all that just yet, try accessing the router from the public IP address assigned by your ISP. That might work -
Can't connect to 192.168.1.1
Hi all! I'm having trouble getting my wireless router setup. I have a WRT54GS Ver.2 router. I seem to have misplaced the CD and I tried using the quick install but it didn't work. When I look at the network settings, my IP address is not 192.168.x.x but 99.x.x.x. I'm running XP with SP1. Any advice? Please help! Thanks a bunch! VK
check the following steps :
1)connect the computer to the router's port#1
2)connect the modem to the router's internet port
3)there shouldn't be any cables connected between the modem and the computer directly
4)reset the router for 30 seconds and do a power cycle
5)check the ip add again and if you get 192.168.1.x , try accessing the router using http://192.168.1.1 -
Trouble connecting to 192.168.1.1 & setting up wireless router
I am hoping someone can please help me!! I have a PowerMac G4 and a new 12" PowerBook G4. I received a Linksys router as a gift and I am having trouble setting it up...I have tried connecting to the ip address, http://192.168.1.1 with both Internet Explorer and Safari to no avail. I enter in the address and it tells me the connection has failed. I have tried numerous individuals including Linksys support and have had no luck! Can anyone help me or tell me what I may be doing wrong?
PowerMac G4 Mac OS X (10.3.1)
PowerMac G4 Mac OS X (10.3.1)
PowerMac G4 Mac OS X (10.3.1)Lets start with some basic stuff.
First Shut your computer clear OFF.
Next pull the power adapter from your Internet
Service Providers Modem.
Next do the same thing with your New Router, Pull the
Plug on everything.
Remove any other USB items you might have connected
Printer scanner, camera.
Now you need to wait for 5 minutes.
NOW IN ORDER.
Plug the Ethernet cable from your ISP's Modem to your
Uplink port on your New Router.
Next
Plug the power adapter back in to your ISP'S Modem,
and wait until it re-aqiures the signal, depending on
the brand and who your service is with normally 3
lights.
Next after you are good on the modem you can plug in
your new Router, again wait for it to get it's signal
and lights. This will normally take a minute or so.
Now you can restart your computer.
After it boots up click on the Safari icon, and see
if it connects you.
If not go to the menu bar in your browser and type in
192.168.1.1
This should open the Linksys Utility box that will
enable you to confiqure your network.
Remember you will have to have all of the proper
setting in both your Browser and your Mail program
for everything to work properly.
Click on the Icon of Safari, and choose Preferences
this will allow you to setup
The same with Mail.
Good Luck Don
Hi, Don. Is the ethernet cable from the modem supposed to plug into the router's WAN port or the Uplink port? -
Still can't get to 192.168.1.1
I posted this issue around July 7th and tried the advice given then--ping, tried a trace, and still unable to connect to 192.168.1.1. I tried connecting the desktop directly to the cable modem and accessing above and still no access. I tried uninstalling the router, but when I go to add/remove programs I don't see anything related to Linksys, and i tried to just reinstall by using the CD, but when I go thru the steps, the wizard states that it is unable to connect to the router. I feel like I've pretty much tried everything, including resetting the router w/the reset button, w/o success, so does this mean my router is toast? Or is it the cable modem provided by Comcast that I need to replace? I'd hate to go thru buying a new router only to have the same issue. Thanks so much for all your help! bailey
The router doesn't need to be installed, per se, so you won't see it in the control panel app. Maybe a utility program, but not the router. It may appear in device manager or in the windows registry... When you reset, do you just press and release, or hold for a minute? The latter will restore factory defaults and if not damaged will allow access to the web interface.

Hp l7680 with static ip 192.168.0.99 with 2 networks does not work.
I have a router provided by BrightHouse networks that I cannot administer. It is connected to the in-house wired network
and IP network is 192.168.0.xxx. I have assigned a static IP of 192.168.0.99 to the HP Printer.
I have another router, Netgear N600 WNDR3700v4, that I use for my wifi and it has a network of 192.168.1.xxx.
I cannot print from the wifi network subnet but I can print when I am directly connected to the Brighthouse router. From a PC connected via WIFI, I can ping the printer @192.168.0.99 , and "telnet 192.168.0.99 9100" connects. I have run HP Print and Scan doctor from a wifi connected pc and it says everything is OK, however, the print jobs just stay in queue and it says the printer is dicsonnected. I used to have an older Netgear wifi router (N600 WNDR3400) and everything used to print. Is there some config I need to do in the WNDR3700v4?Did you have the old Netgear router setup as an access point for the BrightHouse gateway?

How can I connect to a database from ipaq with cldc??
how can I connect to a database from ipaq with cldc??
Hi Again
There is a library by Mimer which allows you do connect to a Mimer SQL Server, don't know must about it, but here is a link.
http://developer.mimer.com/
If that doesn't suit you, I suspect that you will have to use some sort of proxy solution. Either by creating a servlet to accept the sql string you want to send, or by creating your own custom proxy server running J2EE. The servlet or the proxy server must be able to receive an SQL String, do the query to the actual database and return the results in some sort of format to the mobile device. Maybe just a space delimited string.
Hope this helps

Can I connect MacMini 2009 to Thunderbolt Display with Adapter Cable
Can I connect MacMini 2009 to Thunderbolt Display with Adapter Cable (Mini Display to Thunderbolt Adapter)
Sorry but no you can't.
Only Macs with ThunderBolt ports can be used with the ThunderBolt Display and the 2009 Mac Mini doesn't have a ThunderBolt port.
Which computers can I use with my Thunderbolt display?

hi, can someone help me how can i connected my multimeter to my pc with rs232, because my computer can´t recognize the device, i mean the multimeter, is a multimeter keithley serie 2400, and i already downloaded all the drivers for labview even the VISA
Marco,
Here are some suggestions:
1) Check the manual the Keithley manual to see how to configure the RS-232.
On some models you need set Factory defaults to USER and turn on the RS-232.
Also there may be a setting for SCPI which you want on (probably on by default).
2) On your PC - open Device Manager. See if a COM port exists and is functional.
You must get this working before continuing.
You can set the COM port parameters by right clicking and selecting Properties.
(On some PCs the onboard ports can be disabled in the BIOS)
3) If step two was OK, open MAX (Measurement and Automation eXplorer).
On the left side, click on Devices and Hardware.
Click on Serial and Parallel.
Go to the COM port you found in Device Manager.
Open a VISA Test Panel.
Now I don't have one I can look at right now, so this is general idea:
Configure the COM port to match the Keithley settings (should be OK if step 2 worked)
Go to the (I think) Input Output tab (you want to send a command)
The command string input should already have a *IDN? entered, if not, type it in.
Click on the Query button to send the command and check the response.
If you get an ID string back (Company name, Model, FW Version ...) then it works.
(Disregard an error saying it did not get enough charcters back.)
I hope this helps,
steve

Can't connect to my home wi-fi with new Iphone 5?
can't connect to my home wi-fi with new Iphone 5
When you say it doesn't detect the network - is that under "Settings->Wi-Fi"? It doesn't show your network at all?
This may sound like a stupid question but since I've learned never to leave any stone unturned - you don't have your SSID set to "hidden" do you? -
I just upgraded my ip5 to ios6.0.2 and now I can't connect to the network (was fine with 6.0.1). I bought the phone online in Canada but have a Hong Kong simcard. Any solution to connect to network?
I bought mine in the US and activated using a German SIM. It worked fine first on 6.0.1. After upgrading to 6.0.2 the SIM does not work. I have reset the reset the phone and still does not work. I loaded a new SIM and the phone worked for few minutes before going to Searching mode after I restarted the device. I am being told by the Genius Bar team that this is a Hardware failure.

Can I connect my Mac (Mac OS X) with other machine (Windows OS) on same LAN using telnet in terminal?
For example, telnet <ip address of other machine>
I m a networking student and I have learned to connect 2 machines on Red hat Linux OS on same Ethernet LAN which has same subnet mask. As Mac OS X is also a linux based OS I m trying to connect my Mac with my friends windows based machine using telnet <ip address of his machine>. However, I get a message "unable to connect to remote host".
Can anyone please tell me is this the problem because of different OS or it is something different!
Please reply...it will of great help..The machine you're trying to connect to needs a Telnet server running on it - telnetd listening on port 23 (usually).
Incidentally, Mac OS X is not a Linux based OS, it is based on BSD Unix. -
Why Can I not ping 192.168.2.1
I set up a G4 Mac 10.5.8 with two ethernet connections. Both with Static addressing. I have internet sharing turned on, with en0 being shared with en1
en0 is 172.20.0.75, 255.255.255.0, Router 172.20.0.1
en1 is 192.168.2.1, 255.255.255.0, Router 172.20.0.75
a laptop using 172.20.0.1 255.255.255.0 is tied to port en0
a mini using 192.168.2.75 255.255.255.0 is tied to port en1
so the schematic looks like;
(laptop 172.20.0.1) <--> (172.20.0.75 en0 - G4 - en1 192.168.2.1) <--> (192.168.2.75 mini)
from the laptop I can ping 172.20.0.1, 172.20.0.75
from the G4 I can ping 172.20.0.1, 172.20.0.75, 192.168.2.1, 192.168.2.75
from the mini I can ping 192.168.2.75, 192.168.2.1, 172.20.0.75, 172.20.0.1
but from the laptop I cannot ping 192.168.2.1 or 192.168.2.75
Any suggestions as to why?I'm very rusty on this ... but as I recall, ARP is local to a network - so ARP info won't be passed between your two networks. I think it would work if the laptop was told to use the G4's en0 IP address as router, and the mini was told to use the G4's en1 IP address as router. The laptop, asked to ping the mini, says "not on my network" so sends it to its router (G4 en0), which knows how to deliver it. The mini, replying, says "not on my network" so sends it to its router (G4 en1), which knows how to deliver it, so you get ping & reply.
I don't think it matters that both networks are using private address space, as they are connected by a common device, the G4.
