Can't connect to a Bluetooth earpiece

I've hired a developer to create an air app for me on Android. The app needs to record audio from, and send audio to, the user, ideally via a Bluetooth earpiece. The developer tells me air doesn't support Bluetooth earpieces, which surprises me (he's gotten the app to work with a wired earpiece/mic). He's new to Android, though (I hired him for other expertise), so I just thought I'd double-check here. Is a Bluetooth earpiece/air/Android app really that difficult? If there's a way to do it, can someone give me some pointers to pass along? Thanks.

He is partially correct. Whether the "built-in" headset of the device is used, a wired headset or a BlueTooth headset is chosen at Android system level, not at application level. If it works with a wired headset it should also work with a BlueTooth headset if the phone is configured correctly.
AIR 3.0 has some new functions that allow you to choose between headset & speaker, and to enumerate the microphones, but they may not be available on all devices. In any case, if your app already works with a wired headset these functions would be irrelevant.

For what purpose are you trying to connect the two?
Bluetooth between iOS devices is limited to only specific peer-to-peer apps for specific functions (like mutiplayer games).
You cannot just pair the devices, you need an app that specifically uses Bluetooth for communication.

No one can hear me through by bluetooth earpiece altho I can hear them

I am a new user of a 9630 through Verizon V4.7.1.61 with a LG HBM - 570 bluetooth earpiece. It has worked fine until today when suddenly I can hear callers but they can't hear me at all. I would appreciate any help in getting this corrected. thanks.

A year ago a lot of people had problems on Verizon devices and I have seen some
posts on this just lately. Try Green Key, menu key, options, enhanced audio set to automatic.
On both my Storms it was disabled. I set it on my Storm 9530 but it didn't help.
It does seem my Storm 9550 sounds better,I have a lot fewer complaints.

Iphone connection with generic bluetooth earpiece.

I have an iphone 3G that I have recently updated with OS 3.0. I also have a generic bluetooth earpiece that worked perfectly prior to the OS update. Now it will not connect. It still connects easily to another phone(Nokia) so it is working. Nothing I have tried from deleting it and starting again to searching the 'net for help. Does anyone have any ideas??

have the same problem on OS 2.2 generic bluetooth headset worked after OS 3.0 update will not pair.
The phone sees the headset but after entering the pin message says "could not pair" or "incorrect pin". Worked fine before snd now nothing. I'm not ready to spend £££ for a proper one from Apple store

Hey sorry for the late reply, I was busy to figure out alternatives as harman kardon was a difficult affair to find and acquire, but the good news is I managed to get hold of alternative.
Sony I assume recently launched a Bluetooth headphone DR-BTN200 which is compatible to my MacBook Air , iPad mini and android phone galaxy s2 with ease, the sound quality is pretty good as compared to other brands of Bluetooth headphones I checked compatible or incompatible to apple devices alike, this is definitely what I was looking for, costed me 7990 INR, this is highly recommended for ppl who are confused, I carried my devices to the store and checked before I bought a pair and pretty much happy,
The best part of this is its battery backup, I have used this hours for 3-5 days but this has not drain even then, but I do keep this charging once in 2-3 days just to keep this ready otherwise it does not even ask for it neither the quality of sound drops after 2-3 days of use.
This is over the ear headphone which is very soft but it's get sweaty around the ear I guess that's bound to happen.

No. It came with my iMac when I bought it 1.5 years ago, but I had also bought the regular wired keyboard for the number keys. I just bought a PC laptop and am trying to match the Apple wireless keyboard with it. (The small size is perfect for the space I have available.) I did change the batteries, but I did notice that the green light showing it is on only stays on for about 15 seconds. Another thing is that most of the time my PC doesn't see it. I have managed to sinc the laptop with the iMac, so at least it doesn't seem to be an anti-Apple issue.

You need to go to the App stores and find compatible apps. iOS device do not natively have to ability to transfer info to a computer via BT to a computer.
With iOS 8 you can use AirDrop

How can I connect a second Bluetooth track pad?

I bought two track pads to use with my Lion OS on my MBP. One for the home and one for the office. The first one I set up was flawless. When I tried to repeate with the second one it would not connect. I tried to rename the first and the new name was accepted in the preference list but the details kept the old name. Any insight?

The names of the trackpads doesn't affect anything so you can leave them or change them.
Turn the trackpad you want to pair off by holding the power button 5 seconds. Go to Preferences > Trackpad > Setup Bluetooth Trackpad button > you should see the other trackpad listed and it "searching". > Tap the power button on the new trackpad once to turn on in discovery mode.

I have a Toshiba bluetooth chip in my laptop and had a few problems with PCSuite, i.e. it worked when it fancied doing so.
I didn't find the Toshiba stack and software bundle very informative on how to use it or what it is able to do, it seemed to be very limited in what tasks it let you perform.
I have used the Microsoft stack since and can safely say it has improved bluetooth usage 10 fold.
Not only does PCSuite work seamlessly, it is a lot easier to send and receive files across bluetooth too.
This is my opinion, so it may not be suitable for all.
Makes sure you have a copy of your Toshiba stack and software in case you prefer it.
Try uninstalling your Toshiba bluetooth software ('Start' -> 'Settings' -> 'Control Panel' -> 'Add/Remove Programs' -> Select the relevant program) and/or remove the Toshiba stack/hardware ('Properties' of 'My Computer' -> Hardware -> Device Manager, then uninstall the bluetooth hardware).
Try rebooting and Windows should install the device and it's own drivers as well as enable the MS bluetooth software.

I am also having this problem. I can make calls right after deleting and repairing my phone and my bmw but it doesn't work awhile later. was working fine prior to 4.3.3. I have passcode key lock on that caused problems in the past but was working again in recent versions. 2006 e90 no idrive.
