Can't connect to a certain website

I am trying to connect to online banking (which I do everyday) and it is telling me the server stopped working??  This is happening on my Macbook Air and my iPad.  Any suggestions?  Oh...and I can go anywhere else on the internet....and I called the bank and they said their servers are up and working????

Go to http://anonymouse.org/anonwww.html enter the url and see if it loads that way, if it does it might mean that BT is blocking the url for some reason or even because of a mistake.
Or you could use a different DNS server, I use open DNS myself the basic version which is free and simple to use.
When I was with AOL sometimes a popular site would not load directly but worked via anonymouse, eventually AOL would fix it and it would work again. sometimes it's just gremlins in the systems.

  • Users can only connect to RD farm website and cannot remote into terminal server , when connected via VPN

    Hello,
I have a RD farm using 3 Win 2012 servers (1 broker and 2 session host), for internal use only, have not
    configured gateway for internet access.
Users are able to connect to RD farm website and remote into terminal server, within office
but can only connect to RD farm website and cannot remote into terminal server , when connected via VPN
Its takes long time at securing connection and fails.
    Thanks

    Hi,
Thank you for your posting in Windows Server Forum.
First of all I would suggest you to configure RD gateway role on your server and pass all the connection through it because it’s a best practice to use RD Gateway in RDS Farm.
Apart from this, if you are not using RD Gateway then you must check that you have successfully forwarded port 3389 for RDS to access via VPN. Also check that you have made configuration under IIS Manager to enable Forms Authentication. Please check
    this link.

  • Acrobat does not allow connection to a certain website

I have a PDF with a link to a pdf-file on a certain website. When one user clicks the link it says ( it is in dutch, so i try to translate):
Acrobat does not allow connection with www.XXXX  (the name of the link where the link addresses to)
We work in Citrix, most users do not have the problem, only one user has.

Compare the Security (enhanced) and Trust Manager settings for yourself and the user on the same machine. If they are not identical, make them so. If that doesn't work,
I'm assuming the msg appears in a dialog and not the yellow msg bar.

  • Can't connect to a specific website

I have exhausted all other issues, but cannot connect to a specific website on my Verizon FIOS network. I am able to connect to it when I'm at work, and others are having no problems. I just can't connect through my home account. Please advise.

I check the settings on your router to be sure you are not blocking any sites or specific catergory of sites using parental controls.
It is possible that the public IP given to you by Verizon is being blocked by the WEB site because of something a previous holder of this IP did or didn't do.   Unplug the power to your Verizon for at least 30 minutes.  After plug it back in you should have a new Public IP.   Confirm this by checking the status page on your router both before you unplug the router and then after you power it back up.

  • How can I store history of certain websites for ever?

So I like to read Manga but I keep forgetting which chapter i am on of the manga in question, i got 10's of manga on my current read list that get now and then updated. And firefox deletes the history after so many pages doesn't it? I get the feel it does but i am not sure. So to prevent the history search which i use a lot from crashing i would only like that it saves the history of these 2 websites for ever. and let is save the rest of the history like it already does.
Is there any way to achieve this?
if it saves all history this question is not needed.
but i would still like to be able to set certain sites to forever and all others not because, the history search function will crash when i have accumulated millions of pages no?

Thank you very much for your reply. I saw this page. But the only thing that can be saved as CSV format is the statistics of each crash signature
    [http://crash-stats.mozilla.com/topcrasher/byversion/Firefox/3.6.7]
What I wanted is a dump of all the individual crash reports (like the one in
    [http://crash-stats.mozilla.com/report/index/24f1df7d-9a44-4055-a462-fe6332100706] with all their details.
More over this page allows us to retrieve information within 7, 14 or 28 days of todays date only. I want a much larger history.
I would be grateful if you can help me with this.

  • Can't connect to just ONE website. Strange!

I am working on a website which, until recently, I have been able to access through my browser and through ftp.
I was using Flash 8, and the Flash File I was working on was accessing said site (dynamically loading images from), and crashed a few times in the process.
My computer connects to the internet and all it has to offer, except my site is now unreachable! I can access my site through other computers in other places, but none of the computers on our home network (airport extreme/comcast) can access the server my site is hosted on. Strange!
Neither Comcast nor Dreamhost seem to know what my problem is and I was hoping someone here might shed some light.
I tried deleting my flash preferences and have restarted every piece of hardware in the chain.
    Thank you!
    Jimmy

In the past, I've seen Comcast's DNS servers go flaky, so you might try looking up the actual DNS number and trying that, or try these numbers in Network>TCP/IP>DNS Servers:...
    208.67.222.222
    208.67.220.220
Next guess would be Caches, but hard to explain why/how that'd affect everything in your house.

  • I can't connect to a certain server through my airport extreme

A couple of weeks ago, I noticed I could no longer connect to my websites, which are all on the same server.
I can see all other websites I've tried to visit.
It doesn't seem to be a server problem. Everyone else can see the sites fine.
If I connect my computer directly to my router, I can see the sites.
I've tried many computers and phones on my network, and none can see the sites.
    Any Ideas?

My ISP is Time Warner Cable.

  • Can't connect to a certain network...

I got a brand new iMac this past week and a half.  It is so fast and beautiful.  BUT.  I'm trying to connect to my wireless Router, and I can't.  I get full bars saying I have connection, but I can't get onto the Internet.  I don't know why.  I know for a fact that it is a wireless router.  My computer is closer to the router, and I can't get it.  My moms computer is a room away and she can get it.  It says in my Network Preferences that it either has no IP- Address or it has a Self-Assigned IP Address.  I don't know what this means.  I'm typing this on another computer.  I hope this makes since.  I really do need help- I have to have a wireless internet connection before school starts...

One of the problems with WEP is that the actual standard relies on a 10 character HEX key for 40bit WEP and a 26 character HEX key for 128bit WEP.
In order to make things easier, vendors use certain algorithms to convert simple alphanumeric passwords (or passphrases) into HEX keys, thus enabling the use of simple easy to remember WEP password rather than lengthy HEX keys. The problem is that different vendors use different algorithms to generate the HEX key and therefore a ASCII password on an AEBS will be hashed differently on a non-Apple client and vice versa.
See if the following Apple article will help: Joining an encrypted wireless network, especially the part about "For non-Apple wireless WEP networks".

  • Can't connect to a particular website

When I try to connect to www.heide-express.de the browser says the server has stopped responding. I don't think it's a server issue, but a browser setting issue, and I don't know what to change?
    Please help!

    Hi again LegOff,
Thank you for the quick reply!
Since more than one computer is affected by this issue, it looks as though it could be related to the router. Alternatively, it could also be an issue with the ISP.
After conducting some more research on this issue, I recommend pinging the IP address of the website you mentioned in the post above: 144.76.56.227. To ping this address, please follow the steps below:
Step 1. Click the Start button
Step 2. In the search box, type "Command Prompt"
Step 3. Click on Command Prompt
Step 4. Type "ping 144.76.56.227" and hit Enter
This should help determine if your notebook is able to communicate successfully with the website. If you are not able to get any replies back from the Ping, it is likely an issue with the router or the ISP. If you are able to get all replies back successfully, it is most likely an issue with the router's firewall.
For further assistance with your Internet service or your router, please contact your ISP.
Please re-post with the results of your troubleshooting, and I look forward to your reply!

  • Can't connect to a certain wireless network

I canconnect to my home network, I can connect to the grocery store wifi, but when I try to connect to the school's wireless using the 13 character password that the tech guy typed in, I get a a screen and no matter what I clcik, the screen just pops back up.   Other teachers have an ipad and can connect fine.  What is happening.  I called support and they just keep saying I understand that you are ........  I'm going to put you on hold....   I was on for over 1n hour trying to rectify it.  I went back to the Apple store where I purchased it and it connects fine to their wifi.  What do I need to do.

  • Safari weirdness: "can't connect to server", jumbled websites, no images

For the past month or so, Safari has been acting strangely.
When clicking a link on a website, when the new tab opens, I'm often given a "safari cannot connect to server message."  Sometimes reloading the page resolves the issue, other times it is impossible to get to the page. (This has happened on a variety of websites: WordPress, Amazon, Apple.) If I copy the URL and use Chrome or Firefox, the link opens. So, it doesn't seem to be associated with the website, but with the browser.
Also: I get weird website layouts, like this (notice the upper left corner, and the way the Amazon images are vertical rather than horizontal)--
This has also happened on other sites, but, again, opening the URL in a different browser works fine.
I have tried deleting cookies, cache, turned off extensions, made sure that Java/Flash are up-to-date.  I'm at a loss....
This also happens on my iPad Mini2 , though it has not happened on my iPhone5

    1. From the Safari menu bar, select
              Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Extensions
Turn all extensions OFF and test. If the problem is resolved, turn extensions back ON and then disable them one or a few at a time until you find the culprit.
    2. Select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data...
    and confirm. Test.

  • I Can't connect to a certain internet server

After downloading the security update, I had to retype the password to a wireless network I use at my job. Only, when i select the network, i only get the indefinite "spinning beach ball of death." But this is the only network that this happens for- i have no trouble logging on at my dorm, and have no problems at all logging on through ethernet at my dorm or my job (where the wireless problem is).
    Any thoughts?

    First welcome to the discussions.
From what you say I am quessing that you have a setting typed in wrong on the Network you are having trouble with.
If you are using a wireless connection and if it by chance at an office with a VPN you might checkwith the System Administrator and make sure you have the correct settings to join that Network. It has been my expieriance that they will sometimes change there settings for security reasons.
I have read of reports from other users that after checking with there Administrator they have made changes to the Network without telling all there users.
On some occasions they will re-issue or require you to create a new username and Password.

  • Cannot acces certain website

Hey I'v got this weird problem, I can't connect to a certain website.
the problem appeared propably 1-3 days ago (not entirely certain) without me actually changing any settings whatsoever. Im connected to the internet by using a android phone with a wifi hotspot connected to my mbp.
I am entirely certain the website is up and I should not have a ip ban as I'v been able to connect to the website with my phone.
Earlier today I exchanged a few posts with  a guy on a forum that had the exact same problem and the same computer as I (late 2011).
and he too was certain that he had not made any changes to any settings lately.  and he was able to connect to the site with a different computer.
and with the problem mac using tor.
so the problem seems to be with my (and his) mac.
I opened the network utility and pinged and tracked the site. Here are the logs:

Most likely: if the owner just signed up for CloudFlare it can take a few minutes for the website's information to be distributed to our global network. Check back in about 5 minutes and the site should be up and running and enjoying all the benefits of CloudFlare.
Less likely: something is wrong with this site's configuration. Usually this happens when accounts have been signed up with a partner organization (e.g., a hosting provider) and the provider's DNS fails.

  • Can't connect to website under OS X but can under XP under OS X...

    Hello,
I am doing some research for a company and I try and connect to a certain website online (lowes.ca). When under OS X (Safari or Firefox) I can never connect to the site. But, when I connect to the site via Windows XP (Internet Explorer) via Parallels, I have no problem connecting.
Anyone have any ideas why I can't connect while trying under OS X?
At first I thought it my be a firewall thing (physical firewall, not OS X version), but the fact that I have no trouble connecting when in XP makes me think otherwise...?
    Regards,
    Kristin.

    Also works fine for me.
The OS manages the TCP/IP connection and (optionally) specifies which DNS servers to use.
Try putting these in System Preferences > Network > TCP/IP > DNS Servers:
    208.67.222.222
    208.67.220.220
