Can't connect to a particular website

When I try to connect to www.heide-express.de the browser says the server has stopped responding. I don't think it's a server issue, but a browser setting issue, and I don't know what to change?
Please help!

Hi again LegOff,
Thank you for the quick reply!
Since more than one computer is affected by this issue, it looks as though it could be related to the router. Alternatively, it could also be an issue with the ISP.
After conducting some more research on this issue, I recommend pinging the IP address of the website you mentioned in the post above: 144.76.56.227. To ping this address, please follow the steps below:
Step 1. Click the Start button
Step 2. In the search box, type "Command Prompt"
Step 3. Click on Command Prompt
Step 4. Type "ping 144.76.56.227" and hit Enter
This should help determine if your notebook is able to communicate successfully with the website. If you are not able to get any replies back from the Ping, it is likely an issue with the router or the ISP. If you are able to get all replies back successfully, it is most likely an issue with the router's firewall.
For further assistance with your Internet service or your router, please contact your ISP.
Please re-post with the results of your troubleshooting, and I look forward to your reply!

  • Users can only connect to RD farm website and cannot remote into terminal server , when connected via VPN

    Hello,
I have a RD farm using 3 Win 2012 servers (1 broker and 2 session host), for internal use only, have not
    configured gateway for internet access.
Users are able to connect to RD farm website and remote into terminal server, within office
but can only connect to RD farm website and cannot remote into terminal server , when connected via VPN
Its takes long time at securing connection and fails.
    Thanks

    Hi,
Thank you for your posting in Windows Server Forum.
First of all I would suggest you to configure RD gateway role on your server and pass all the connection through it because it’s a best practice to use RD Gateway in RDS Farm.
Apart from this, if you are not using RD Gateway then you must check that you have successfully forwarded port 3389 for RDS to access via VPN. Also check that you have made configuration under IIS Manager to enable Forms Authentication. Please check
    this link.

  • Can't connect to a specific website

I have exhausted all other issues, but cannot connect to a specific website on my Verizon FIOS network. I am able to connect to it when I'm at work, and others are having no problems. I just can't connect through my home account. Please advise.

I check the settings on your router to be sure you are not blocking any sites or specific catergory of sites using parental controls.
It is possible that the public IP given to you by Verizon is being blocked by the WEB site because of something a previous holder of this IP did or didn't do.   Unplug the power to your Verizon for at least 30 minutes.  After plug it back in you should have a new Public IP.   Confirm this by checking the status page on your router both before you unplug the router and then after you power it back up.

  • Can't connect to a certain website

I am trying to connect to online banking (which I do everyday) and it is telling me the server stopped working??  This is happening on my Macbook Air and my iPad.  Any suggestions?  Oh...and I can go anywhere else on the internet....and I called the bank and they said their servers are up and working????

Go to http://anonymouse.org/anonwww.html enter the url and see if it loads that way, if it does it might mean that BT is blocking the url for some reason or even because of a mistake.
Or you could use a different DNS server, I use open DNS myself the basic version which is free and simple to use.
When I was with AOL sometimes a popular site would not load directly but worked via anonymouse, eventually AOL would fix it and it would work again. sometimes it's just gremlins in the systems.

  • Can't get to a particular website. Others load fine

I'm trying to get to a banking website that i have accessed previously with Mozilla. It can be accessed by other browsers.
The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.
I just copied and pasted the error message that pops up. Worked fine before.
The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.
The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few
    moments.
If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network
    connection.
If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure
that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache.
Note: ''This will temporarily log you out of all sites you're logged in to.''
To clear cache and cookies do the following:
#Go to Firefox > History > Clear recent history or (if no Firefox button is shown) go to Tools > Clear recent history.
#Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
#Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
#From the details list, check ''Cache'' and ''Cookies'' and uncheck everything else.
#Now click the ''Clear now'' button.
Further information can be found in the [[Clear your cache, history and other personal information in Firefox]] article.

  • Can't connect to just ONE website. Strange!

I am working on a website which, until recently, I have been able to access through my browser and through ftp.
I was using Flash 8, and the Flash File I was working on was accessing said site (dynamically loading images from), and crashed a few times in the process.
My computer connects to the internet and all it has to offer, except my site is now unreachable! I can access my site through other computers in other places, but none of the computers on our home network (airport extreme/comcast) can access the server my site is hosted on. Strange!
Neither Comcast nor Dreamhost seem to know what my problem is and I was hoping someone here might shed some light.
I tried deleting my flash preferences and have restarted every piece of hardware in the chain.
    Thank you!
    Jimmy

In the past, I've seen Comcast's DNS servers go flaky, so you might try looking up the actual DNS number and trying that, or try these numbers in Network>TCP/IP>DNS Servers:...
    208.67.222.222
    208.67.220.220
Next guess would be Caches, but hard to explain why/how that'd affect everything in your house.

  • Why can't I view a particular website in my Firefox browser?

I cannot view this website from my browser. However I can see it from Internet Explorer. All other websites open correctly in Firefox. I removed my old Bookmark, cleared my cookies and nothing.... help!
== URL of affected sites ==
    http://www.uawlocal3303.org

I am having this problem too. I cannot see the Royal Mail or Parcel Force websites. they load just fine with other browsers so it can't be a problem with my firewall.

  • Safari weirdness: "can't connect to server", jumbled websites, no images

For the past month or so, Safari has been acting strangely.
When clicking a link on a website, when the new tab opens, I'm often given a "safari cannot connect to server message."  Sometimes reloading the page resolves the issue, other times it is impossible to get to the page. (This has happened on a variety of websites: WordPress, Amazon, Apple.) If I copy the URL and use Chrome or Firefox, the link opens. So, it doesn't seem to be associated with the website, but with the browser.
Also: I get weird website layouts, like this (notice the upper left corner, and the way the Amazon images are vertical rather than horizontal)--
This has also happened on other sites, but, again, opening the URL in a different browser works fine.
I have tried deleting cookies, cache, turned off extensions, made sure that Java/Flash are up-to-date.  I'm at a loss....
This also happens on my iPad Mini2 , though it has not happened on my iPhone5

    1. From the Safari menu bar, select
              Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Extensions
Turn all extensions OFF and test. If the problem is resolved, turn extensions back ON and then disable them one or a few at a time until you find the culprit.
    2. Select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data...
    and confirm. Test.

  • Can't connect to certain websites from MacBookPro

I can't connect to my own website (hosted by a hosting service) from my MacBookPro. No other sites seem to be blocked; I just get an error telling me that the connection has timed out when I try to go to my site.
My son's windows machine connects over the household wifi to the site without problems. I've tried changing DNS settings, removing my network filter, repairing permissions, and am now in need of additional ideas to try.

  • Can't connect to a site - all other sites working fine

Bizarre problem here: I can't connect to one particular site from my iMac. I have a WiFi network, using an Apple Airport Express. I can connect to this same site from my MacBook, connected to the same WiFi network.
Has any one encoutered this same problem before?

Have you tried resetting Safari or clearing the cache (vs a full reset)? The command is in the Safari menu. My wife's PC sometimes has a similar problem with IE occasionally and requires the cache to emptied to fix it.

  • Safari can't connect to server problem (just one website)

After I upgraded my mac about a week ago, I can't open a particular website using my home wifi (Safari can't connect to server) It lets me open page but one, which happens to be my mail website. However, when I use a public wifi, I can open that website without any problem. Any ideas why this happens?

    Linc.
I have been unable to connect to specific random favorite sites and tried your posts suggestion
"Boot into Recovery mode. From the OS X Utilities screen, select Get Help Online. A clean copy of Safari will launch. No plugins, such as Flash, will be available. While in Recovery, you'll have no access to your saved bookmarks or passwords, so make a note of those before you begin, if they're needed for the test.
Test. After testing, reboot as usual and post the results."
I was able to connect to all my unavailable sites. Can you help me discover what is preventing my access when not in Recovery mode. I Made the Safari preferences match the recovery mode Safari preferences so that doesn't seem to be the problem.
    I ran EtreCheck

  • Connection lost alwayd on a particular website

    I use mysupermarket.com
Frequently on using the "find" option on this webaite, my connection drops and takes about a minute to recover.
What's going on? How can one particular website do this?
It doesn't seem to happen with others, and it doesn't happen each time I use the find facility.
Does the hub get shoucked by the price of turkey or something?

Is it every single time you use this function, I have tested this myself using Win7 and Firefox 4.0; and have haven't replicated the issue you describe. Do you have a Malware scan program on your PC? could be a script based issue.
When you say the connection drops, does the router actually lose its internet connection or does the system (o/s) mearly not respond to internet requests?

  • I can't connect to the itunes store and have some problems with other websites. Some websites load OK. I had the same problem on my iPad and changed the DNS, but don't want to do this on my iMac, anyway, surely I should have my router's DNS?

I can't connect to the iTunes store from my iMac and have problems loading a number of other websites, however some websites load perfectly well. I have had the iTunes store issue on my iPad and resolved it by changing the DNS but surely I should use the DNS for my router. I don't really want to change it for the iMac as I access secure sites with it to internet shop.
Any ideas, I was going to try loading Chrome but can't get it without going through the iTunes store. Anyway, that is treating the symprom not the cause.

Adding Open DNS codes to your Network Preferences, should give good results in terms of speed-up as well as added security, (including anti-phishing and redirects) (Full information about Open DNS is here: http://www.opendns.com/home/nobloat ) and further independent information can be read here:
    http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-13727_7-57338784-263/free-dnscrypt-tool-enhances-ma c-web-security/?tag=mncol;txt
    and here:
    http://www.macworld.com/article/1146064/troubleshootdns.html?t=234
Open System Preferences/Network. Double click on your connection type, or select it in the drop-down menu, and in the box marked 'DNS Servers' add the following two numbers:
    208.67.222.222
    208.67.220.220
(You can also enter them if you click on Advanced and then DNS)
Sometimes reversing the order of the DNS numbers can be beneficial in cases where there is a long delay before web pages start to load, and then suddenly load at normal speed:

Error 324 (net::ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE): The server closed the connection without sending any data.
I can load some websites (Trello, StackOverflow), but can't login: when I try to use the Google Account auth, it loads forever and times out.
When I push code to my github, 70% of the time, the ssh connection times out.
I can't open Facebook, except for a few times when it worked for a single load, then any further link I'd click on the website would timeout.
Youtube videos won't load: the flash player will show up with a spinning wheel and nothing else happens. It eventually timeout. However, if I use something like `youtube-viewer` from the AUR, I can stream Youtube in MPlayer just fine.
On the same machine, from Windows, everything works fine.
Other websites load just fine, at a speed that is expected for the connection speed (6 Mbps). Same for downloads.
    What I tried:
The Facebook block is known by VN people and they usually change their DNS setting to use OpenDNS or Google's DNS. I did it by modifying my `resolv.conf.head` file. It still doesn't work. However that fix worked on Windows.
I installed Tor, but I can't connect to the network. The connection stalls while loading relay details.
I don't know what else to do to at least understand the nature of the problem.
Note Most of this is also true from my Android tablet.  But again, all these problem don't show up in Windows.  I don't know why.  However, from my Android tablet, if I use my phone 3G to make a hotspot, then I can access to everything normally.  Unfortunately, I do not have a wifi-card in my desktop.
I thought including this might help: /etc/resolve.conf.head
    nameserver 208.67.222.222
    nameserver 208.67.220.2200
    nameserver 8.8.8.8
    nameserver 8.8.4.4
    nameserver 127.0.0.1
The same settings are setup in my router (for the DNS primary and secondary).
    Cheers

Well that's interesting.  I don't think I'm doing anything illegal.  For Facebook, I know the government here has no official policy against it but that ISP are somehow encouraged to block it.  However pretty much everybody circumvent the DNS block that they practice.
Other than that, I assume that posting on this very forum is not illegal, and logging in my Google account is not illegal as well.  But I'm not a lawyer and I can't read Vietnamese laws.
Also, using other ISPs I do not have the problem I encounter with my connection at home (which is provided by the landlord).  So in good faith, I do not think that I am attempting to do anything illegal in Viet Nam.

  • Suddenly can't connect to certain websites

This week I discovered that I am unable to connect to several websites I am accustomed to visiting frequently. These are not 404 errors. Safari and Firefox both give me the message that they "can't connect to the server," and Netscape says the "connection was not accepted." The problem websites I discoverd so far are nytimes.com, daypop.com, democracynow.org
I had monkeyed with some of my system settings including activating the firewall which I deactivated with no better results. I cannot remember if there
was anything else I did which could affect the web connections. I repaired permissions just in case--no change. It was suggested that I make one of the problem sites my home page on Safari--that did no good.
I sent a message to the NY Times via webmast@nytimes. com asking if there was some reason I should suddenly have a problem connecting--it didn't get spit back at me, but it has yet to be answered.
Out of ideas as to what else to try. Any help out there?
    Thanks.

Uh-oh. Very bad that so far NO ONE has any idea how to help. I've put up the question on a couple of Mac site forums which got me to the Network Utility. I tried using it but for the most part can't interpret the results. If posting them will enlighten anyone, I'd be glad to do that.
Someone suggested that I needed to use a different DNS. Now I'm into territory I don't really understand. I went to my ISP's support website and found the addresses of the primary and secondary DNS. My TCP/IP settings didn't require that I input any DNS address, but armed with them, I entered the secondary address and tried to connect again, but no luck.
