Can't connect to a specific web address

I have a MacBook Pro using version 10.4.11 software. It is the 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo model. I use a wireless Airport Extreme and have had no problems ever until now. My son plays hockey and his team has a website that I have been able to connect to since I bought this computer. About a month ago after the latest Safari update, I can no longer connect to this websites server. It is the only site that I cannot get. I brought it to the Apple store and had one of there Geniuses look at it and all that happened was they lost all of my itunes, pictures, keychain info, etc. Very frustrating experience with them and I still can't get the site. Any suggestions

Sig is right. The basic Flip4Mac is free, and works to allow most playback of wmv. You only need to purchase it if you want to convert wmv into something else, or visa versa. I'd call F4M customer support to get a refund, if you don't want it, or to sort out registering it correctly, if you do.
About your other issue; those pages seemed to load fine for me. The mxi98 page started playing an audio clip of a song after it loaded. Nothing too weird looking about the pages.

Im back online again with the help from an apple advisor but my computer wont connect to an ac.uk address - just says 'problem loading page' and 'server not found'. • Can't connect to a specific website

I have exhausted all other issues, but cannot connect to a specific website on my Verizon FIOS network. I am able to connect to it when I'm at work, and others are having no problems. I just can't connect through my home account. Please advise.

I check the settings on your router to be sure you are not blocking any sites or specific catergory of sites using parental controls.
It is possible that the public IP given to you by Verizon is being blocked by the WEB site because of something a previous holder of this IP did or didn't do.   Unplug the power to your Verizon for at least 30 minutes.  After plug it back in you should have a new Public IP.   Confirm this by checking the status page on your router both before you unplug the router and then after you power it back up.

  • Remote Desktop Connection Times Out With "Can't Connect" From One Specific Computer Only

This is an odd one... I manage several servers from this computer. This particular server, 2012 Essentials, won't allow for remote desktop connections to either the server or attached workstations. I can get into the server's remote web page but when I
attempt a remote desktop connection, it hangs on "Initiating remote connection..." and then times out with the error response that remote desktop can't connect. But... if I attempt the same connections from any other computer, I am able to get in
and utilize remote desktop. Does this mean that there is a certificate issue with the computer unable to connect and if so, how does one remedy this? Or is it some other issue? I've attempted everything within my technical ability to no avail. Any suggestions
    are greatly appreciated.

    Hi,
Before going further, would you please let me know the RDC version that used in the problematic computer? Was it the same with other computers?
Please temporarily disable firewall and then check if this issue can be solved. Based on your current description, it’s hard to say the root reason of this issue.
So, I suggest that you should check relevant log files and get some clues. It will help us to narrow down and solve your issue.
    Hope this helps.
    Best regards,

  • Can someone help me get my web address bar back up on Safari?

I don't really know what you call it, but the bar that you type web addresses in, at the top of the page, somehow disappeared. If I use this browser it is only to visit pages that I had bookmarked, because I have no way of typing in new addresses. I'm not really sure what I did, but it's gone...
I have Safari 2.0.4, but I just don't see anything in Preferences or anywhere else that will help me get bar back on the page. Can someone help me?

lol that was easy... I had been over that but apparently didn't drag it over to the bar correctly last time I was in there.
    Thanks

  • Can't connect to a specific webpage

Since yesterday I can't connect to www.last.fm it just keeps "connecting", I tried, firefox, chrome and safari, none of them work...
I found some tips for windows users, but none for mac, can somebody please help me??

It would appear to be an issue with "peering" on the net.
Internet.net has no affiliation with Last.fm according to Whois.
Since it is blocked after there, your internet provider must be using internet.net as a primary or secondary backbone past its main backbone.
Call your internet provider and ask them if they are multihoned. Recommend to them to become multihoned in the future if they are not, as it is blocking you from certain websites, due to a blockage on internet.net.

  • Can't connect to a specific wifi network

Hello, please, someone can help me? (sorry for my poor english, not native)
First of all, i's important to say that I could connect normally to this network before, and then suddenly it stopped connecting. I can say it's a problem with my device, 'cause the other device I have still can connect to this network normally. I deleted it from the list of saved networks, tried to able and disable some of the advanced options... Nothing worked.
Nothing has changed, passwords, settings, nothing. I'm pretty sure it's a specific issue between BBZ10 and this network, 'cause I can connect normally to my home's and my neighbor's wifi network.
    Please, anyone?

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
The first thing to check is your installed BB10 OS level...refer:

If it is not the most recent (10.2.2.1531), then it is highly recommended that you update via Sachesi, LINK (only if your carrier supports it), or AutoLoader:

  • Can I disable adblock for specific web pages?

I would like to disable adblock for two websites, can this be done, or is the only option to have it enabled or disabled for all web pages? If I can disable it for two websites, how do I do it?

Yes, you can tell disable adblock on sites you choose. Go to each
web site one at a time. After the page has loaded, go to
the adblock icon and right click on it. One of the options
is to disable adblock on that site. Be very careful as there
is also an option to disable on '''''ALL SITES'''''.

  • How to block postfix connection to a specific ip address

There are a handful of sites that continuously send SPAM to my server and seem to avoid getting listed on the blacklist servers.  I'm trying to set up POSTFIX to refuse connections from these sever's IP addresses.  Here is how I set up smtpd_client_restrictions in main.cf:
    smtpd_client_restrictions =
              check_client_access hash:/Library/Server/Mail/Config/postfix/client_checks
              permit_mynetworks
              permit_sasl_authenticated
              reject_rbl_client bl.spamcop.net
              reject_rbl_client zen.spamhaus.org
              permit
    The content of /Library/Server/Mail/Config/postfix/client_checks:
94.242.161.0/24                    REJECT Your IP range is spammer
141.255.161.0/24                    REJECT Your IP range is spammer
192.95.54.0/24                    REJECT Your IP range is spammer
198.50.229.0/24                    REJECT Your IP range is spammer
198.50.171.0/24                    REJECT Your IP range is spammer
For some reason POSTFIX isn't blocking SMTP connections from these IP addresses.
Is there some other command that I need to specify for smtpd_client_restrictions to get processed?
Is the syntax of my client check incorrect?

Figured out what the problem was in getting PostFix to use the check_client_access file for SMTP connections to reject.  Seems that PostFIx doesn't understand CIDR notation in the file so these entries are just ignored and no entry is made in the SMTP Log which makes it even harder to figure out what is going on.  Changing the contents of the file from:
94.242.161.0/24                    REJECT Your IP range is spammer
141.255.161.0/24                    REJECT Your IP range is spammer
192.95.54.0/24                    REJECT Your IP range is spammer
198.50.229.0/24                    REJECT Your IP range is spammer
198.50.171.0/24                    REJECT Your IP range is spammer
to only listing the leading octets of the IP address works.  Now the REJECT message appears in the SMTP log and the connection from these IP address ranges are dropped on connection and the irritating spam that is missed by the blacklist servers in gone.  Nice!!!
    # Restricts which clients this system accepts SMTP connections from.
94.242            REJECT Your IP range is spammer
141.255         REJECT Your IP range is spammer
192.95.54      REJECT Your IP range is spammer
198.50.229   REJECT Your IP range is spammer
23.89.158     REJECT Your IP range is spammer

  • Can I copy bookmark titles and web addresses to a document file?

I would like to copy my current bookmarks to a Word document. If I highlight>right-click>copy then try to paste into a blank page, the only information that appears is the bookmark title. I also need the URL selected, but the copy/paste function does not work.

I would suggest that you use Mozbackup to backup your entire profile instead of trying to convert a bunch of emails into a Word document. Then if something bad happens you just install Thunderbird on the new computer and restore the backup. Then you have your address books and emails.

  • Why can't I click on HTML web addresses in Thunderbird and have them come up in Firefox 6.0.2

When I click on HTML in Thunderbird, it no longer pulls up the website in Firefox. This is only since I downloaded Firefox 6.0.2. What's wrong?

Check that Firefox is set to be default browser.

  • Can't connect to specific Web site

I was able to access all Web sites using PCs attached to a WRT54GS (wired and wireless). Then, when nothing seemingly changed in my setup, I could no longer access a specific site with either wired or wireless. It is a site I access frequently (an ecommerce site that I maintain). Once the problem was seen on one PC, it is seen on all PCs using the router. It is a domain that I have registered, but I am not hosting it myself. Others have no problem accessing this web site.
I was able to reset the WRT54GS a couple of times (not just power cycling) to get rid of this problem, but eventually, the problem was no longer corrected by a reset. I also upgraded to the latest firmware, and it did not help. I tried removing the router and connecting a PC directly to my cable modem. I could access the site just fine this way.
I tried a different router (BEFSR41), and everything worked fine for a few days. Then the same problem started happening again. Resetting the BEFSR41 also stopped fixing the problem after a couple of tries. Again, hooking an individual PC directly to the cable modem worked fine.
I then tried a second WRT54GS router. For several days, there were no problems. But eventually, the site was not accessible again. I have found no other sites that I could not access. I have borrowed a non-Linksys wireless router for over a month now, and the problem has not been seen.
My question is why do three different Linksys routers (2 WRT54GS and 1 BEFSR41) no longer allow me to connect to a specific Web site? Is there anything I can do to fix this problem?

I had the same problem, and I finally solved it through DNS refreshing.
After MTU manipulation left me nowhere, I tried ye olde:
    ipconfig /release
    ipconfig /flushdns
    ipconfig /renew
...with no success.  I then looked over the ipconfig options, and decided to try:
    ipconfig /registerdns
    ...which finally worked!
So much for twelve hours of my life.
