Can't connect to any secure WiFi network. Help...!

Hello,
I am unable to connect to any secure wifi network. Using iPhone 5, Model : MD300B/A, Software : 6.1.4 (10B350). Whenever I try to connect to any secure wifi network, it says password incorrect. But it connects fine with unsecured networks. Double checked the same secure networks with my iPad and it works fine. Tried reseting the network settings and all settings. Updated to latest firmware (6.1.4). Still not working.
Please help.
Regards,
Madhavan

I have the same problem. I can't connect to any password protected networks. I type in the correct password, but I'm unable to login. I don't have the option for the iphone to forget the network, because I've never been able to log in and therefore there is nothing to forget. The option doesn't even come up. Is anyone else having this problem? It is this way for 2 different networks.

I have had exactly the same problem, which started yesterday or the day before. It connects fine to unsecured networks, but refuses to connect to WEP, WPA-PSK or WPA2-PSK networks. iphone is up to date, as is the router firmware (Netgear DG834G). I have only just got my iphone 3G, but it worked fine initially.
    Anyone have any thoughts?

  • Can't connect to my home WiFi network

I'm using a linksys router and using WEP security. The iphone can see my network, but when I enter the password it tells me I can't connect. I can't seem to make the phone forget the network so that I can start over.
    Any help would be appreciated

  • IPad will not connect to any other wifi network besides iPhone hotspot.

I have 3 iPads and until recently they all worked flawlessly using a mediocre wifi signal. One of them now will only work with my iPhone hotspot and will not connect to any other wifi network. I have rest it removed the cover and it still does not work. Please advise.
    Thanks

    Try this Method:
Go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings (NO DATA WILL BE DELETED)
Reconfirm it again when the notification pops up and wait for the phone to reboot itself

  • Cannot connect to my secure wifi network

my iphone will not connect to my secure wifi.
    WiFi settings are as follows:
WPA Personal with TKIP encryption on a WRT300N wireless router from Linksys

Tried this, I still have the same problem. I can only access the internet when on apple.com if I try to open a different web page I get the Neatgear genie page again. It also won't allow apps that need the internet to open.

  • HP Wireless Printers cannot connect to WPA2-secured WiFi networks with Cisco/Meraki WAPs

In the last two months, I've had the displeasure of working with two very different HP printers and attempting to make them work on a WPA2-secured wireless network.  All attempts to authenticate fail with "invalid phassphrase".
I'm not the first person to encounter this, it's a problem with many different HP wireless printers (I just happen to have physical access to the OfficeJet Pro 8610 & Deskjet 3511).
My equipment is a Cisco ASA 5505 Firewall running ASA 9.1x & Cisco Aironet 1142 running IOS 15.3.x.
What does work on the WPA2/AES SSID:  Apple MacBook Air running OSX 10.10.2, Three Windows-Based laptops running Windows 8.1 Update 1, an iPhone 5s, Three Windows Phone 8.1 devices, Roku 2, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Sharp Aquos TV, Amazon Streaming Stick, and an Android Tablet (Jellybean).  Basically, everything.
What does not work on the WPA2 network:  OfficeJet Pro 8610 & Deskjet 3511.
To test the theory there is a problem with HP's implementation of WPA2 with regard to Cisco Aironet IOS, I built out a second SSID that only works in WPA/TKIP mode.  This solution works.  Both HP printers will join the WPA/TKIP network.
So, I'm able to demonstrate there is a certain connectivity issue.  When i look at AAA Debug on the WAP's console, I can observe the HPs attempt to authenticate "Bind I/F" on the WPA2 SSID, however they do not achieve authentication and do not pass the AAA phase.  However, on the WPA SSID, they bind and authenticate successfully.
To help illustrate this, here is my WAP running config.  It's about as simple as it can get.  There is no relevant MAC filtering or ACLs bound to any interface.  Noting that I have an ACL on remote access to the WAP (i.e. Locked down to SSH, disabling telnet).  The main point being that the ASA firewall is not a factor in this problem as the issue is at the WAP before WPA2 authentication can complete, therefore the printers never reach the network / when the printers connect to the WPA network, the operate fully & correctly.
If anyone at HP can indicate why this particular config is somehow improper or broken, that would be fantastic.  There should be no reason why Cisco / Meraki WAP owners have to lower wireless encryption standards just for a printer, be forced into wired, create separate SSIDs with lower encryption specifically for a device.

I get the same behavior with a laserjet m451nw. I need to enable tkip to get the printer working, it doesn't support pure aes-ccm (every other device here supports pure aes-ccm, even cheap ones), although it's advertised as working.

  • Can't connect to a specific wifi network

Hello, please, someone can help me? (sorry for my poor english, not native)
First of all, i's important to say that I could connect normally to this network before, and then suddenly it stopped connecting. I can say it's a problem with my device, 'cause the other device I have still can connect to this network normally. I deleted it from the list of saved networks, tried to able and disable some of the advanced options... Nothing worked.
Nothing has changed, passwords, settings, nothing. I'm pretty sure it's a specific issue between BBZ10 and this network, 'cause I can connect normally to my home's and my neighbor's wifi network.
    Please, anyone?

The first thing to check is your installed BB10 OS level...refer:

  • Can't Connect to any Wi-Fi Network

So today (9th Oct 2013) i connected to my works wifi perfectly fine, been using it all morning. then at luch time i left the building and turned mobile data on (and 3G). when i returned it didnt connect to the wifi. and is now displaying a "Unable To Join the network "[NETWORK SSID]" " on ANY network i try to connect to.
What can i do to fix this?
    Phone: Iphone 5
    iOS: 6.1.2
No i do not want to "upgrade" to iOS 7. i don't like it, and i will not be able to revert to 6 after.

Changing phone name and rebooting has fixed this issue.

  • Can't connect to internet on WiFi network

I have a cable modem hooked to a wired router (Linksys) hooked to a wired/wireless router (DLink). My Windows laptops and PSP can connect to my WiFi network just fine, and up until about 2 days ago, my iMac could too. But now, it recognizes the network and I can connect to my other computers, but I cannot connect to the internet. When I used the diagnostics from OSX, sometimes they would say the internet was working (though it definitely wasn't) and sometimes it would say it wasn't. My signal strength is fine and I haven't changed any network settings on the computer or to the network itself. I think I just installed some updates from Apple, but I'm not sure. Please advise.

I had the same problem on my G4 tower a few weeks ago. Drove me nuts! I finally got past it by accident. I had created a Home location in the Network preference panel. That one wasn't working. Could see the local network, but couldn't hit the internet to save my life. By accident, I switched back to the Automatic location that comes as a default. That one worked! Haven't had a problem since.
I think the issue might be preference corruption of some kind. I'm not sure.
Anywho, try creating or using a different location on your Mac and see if a fresh set of setting will get you through to the internet.

  • IOS devices can't connect automatically to known wifi network anymore (only manually)

    Hi there.
Just changed my old wifi router belkin 54g with a new sitecom 300n X2 (with 802.11n); after the change all my iOS devices (iphone4, ipod touch and ipad2) are not able anymore to automatically connect to my wifi network.
The network is recognized and after inserting the password the devices connect perfectly to the network, but if I switch off the wifi interface and then i switch it on again the devices don't connect to the known network automatically, I have to tap on my network in the list to join it, even if password is not requested anymore (just once, when connecting for the first time). My Macbook and other Android devices are automatically connecting fine.
I tried to forget the network and reconnect to it, I did a reset of the network stack under Settings->General->Reset, I did a device reset but nothing worked.
I even tried to limit channel bandwidth of the router to 20 Mhz (suggestion found in a forum) but no success, and I also changed the wifi channel to avoid interference, but again no success.
Any help will be really appreciated.
    Thanks a lot and regards.

  • 4S will not log onto any secure WiFi Networks

Up until 2 weeks ago my 4S was working fine with all WiFi networks.  I was traveling in Vancouver last week and tried to log onto the hotel WiFi.  It was password protected and my phone would state "incorrect" password even with the correct password.  My laptop, my wife's 4S and my son's 4S could log into the WiFi but my phone couldn't.  I wrote it off as an anomaly but now that I am back home I am having the same issue with my home WiFi that's password protected.  I have synced my phone, I have done a hard reset and I have done a network reset but nothing works.  We have 6 other devices connected to the WiFi but I keep getting an incorrect password error.
I believe something in the iOS is corrupted and I am going to do a restore. However, just wanted to see if anyone has any tips or similar experience because the restore is a little bit of a hassel.
    Thanks.

If the same issue occurs at multiple locations then the issue is with the device. You're well within your warranty so you need to call to setup a free repair/service on your device. Or go to an Apple Retail Store.
And yes, Apple wants to be paid because it's a paid support line after 90 days.

  • IPhone connects to secured WiFi network, but can't access Internet

Problem: iPhone connects to my secured home WiFi network, shows WiFi strength bars at top of screen, displays checkmark, lock, power, and blue arrow on WiFi Networks screen; however, cannot access Internet, iTunes store, stocks, Weather or anything else.
    Tests I've run:
    1. iPhone itself:
    ---DCHP:
IP Address = 192.168.2.102 (within range automatically allocated by LinkSys router--see below)
Subnet Mask = 255.255.255.0 (as per LinkSys router)
Router = 192.168.2.1 (as per LinkSys router)
DNS = 192.168.2.1 (confirmed by Apple as a valid DNS address given the above information)
    Tests:

*Entered a Static IP address on both router and iPhone--iPhone failed to connect to Internet
*Reserved an IP within range automatically allocated by LinkSys router--iPhone failed to connect to Internet
*Reserved an IP outside range automatically allocated by LinkSys router--iPhone failed to connect to Internet

*Changed Router IP address from 198.168.2.1 to 198.168.1.1 (LinkSys default)--iPhone failed to connect to Internet
    3. Microsoft router MN-500:
Tried this old router (the one I used before purchasing the LinkSys). It is an old (circa 2002) Wireless B base station with WEP Security. The iPhone was never able to connect to the Internet using various settings, many of which were duplicates of the LinkSys tests above.
On both routers my wife's Dell laptop and my HP printer connect without incident, using the same network/security settings.
I have always been able to connect to various unsecured WiFi networks; I have never been able to connect to a secure WiFi network (although the only one I've really tried has been my own).
I am at a loss as to what to do next. Any suggestions?

    SUCCESS!!!!!
I visited my brother-in-law yesterday and attempted to connect with his secure network. By sheer luck, he is using the exact same model LinkSys router. My iPhone connected first time--so the iPhone was eliminated as a source of the problem.
I didn't do a lot of troubleshooting at his house, but I did notice that his network was set for both dynamic DHCP and dynamic DNS. I know that either or both of Windstream (my ISP) and my broadband modem requires a pair of static DNS addresses.
Sure enough, delving real deep into Windstream's support site, I discovered a LinkSys router DNS help page, specifying how to set static DNS addresses in LinkSys routers. I then accessed my router, enterd the known static addresses, saved the router settings, then rebooted the iPhone and connected to the network.
    SUCCESS!!!
Thanks to Jane, who suggested it was an ISP issue, Jason, and all at Apple support. dumonj, I'll email you directly. Try this suggestion and see if it helps.

  • Can't Connect to any WiFi network

I just got my iPhone yesterday and I'm already having a serious problem,I can't connect to any WiFi networks.
I can see the networks around me and I can select networks that I've setup and I know are open or I know the security passwords, I can even enter the network passwords for the ones that require them and it accepts them without complaint. When I select a network I get a little check mark next to that network which I assumes means it should be connected to that network. However, the iPhone never actually connects to them, i.e. no IP address, no router no nothing in the network settings screen for each network, and always appears to the using the Edge wireless network when accessing the internet.
I've tried DHCP and static IP but neither works.
I updated the phones software to 1.1.4, has anybody reported problems like this with this or any version of the software.
Any help would be much appriciated.
If I can't get this resolved today I'm returning to the AT&T store tonight for a new one.
    Thanks
    Matt S.

    theevilone,
I have personally used an iPhone with routers from D-Link, Netgear, Linksys, Apple and Belkin.
Some routers, regardless of manufacturer need to have their firmware updated. Generally speaking if you look at the release notes, the same updates that resolve issues with DHCP for game systems and PDAs, also resolves them for the iPhone.
In addition hardware or MAC address filtering can cause issues where you connect to the network and not get DHCP.
    Hope this helps,
    Nathan C.
