Can't connect to app store but can connect to iTunes store.
I want to upgrade to Mavericks but I cannot connect to the App Store. When I try to sign in, it immediately reads: connection failed. However, I can sign in to the iTunes Store. I've scoured these forums but nothing I've read has helped. Can anyone help me?
There isn't anything about Firewall under Sharing.
I turned Firewall off under Security and restarted. Still no connection to App Store.
Turned Firewall back on and added App Store under Advanced to allow incoming connections.
Still no dice.
Could I uninstall App Store and redownload it? Can't find it to download though.

To logon, when it is plugged into my laptotp, a program opens and I have to insert a password in order to activate the connection, which uses credit loaded onto the chip.

You must be within the Country with a Valid Billing Address and Credit Card for that Country to use the iTunes Store of that Country... -

Just connect the new iPod to your computer and setup the iPod via iTunes (instead of via wifi).

Can connect to iTunes, Safari, Google et etc. No issue with our wifi/network, we also have another iPad which fas no problem downloading apps.Try syncing your iPad with your computer, that way it can update its version of iTunes.

I updated iOS in iPhone 5 just now... But I can not download/install apps (Skype,Facebook etc.) from apple store...it shows error code -1009... What can I do...?
The error 1009 error is normally associated with a blocked country. There are a list of countries that Apple is not allowed to sell their software to due to US restrictions

Check your Applicaitons folder.
Mac OS X Lion 10.7.2 < your profile
Xcode's minimum requirements according to the App Store under Information is OS X v10.7.3 or later.
If you are running v10.7.2, click your Apple menu icon top left in your screen. From the drop down menu click Software Update.
That should bring your Mac up to date to v10.7.4.
Then try re downloading Xcode.
How to re download apps from the Mac App Store:
Open the App Store. From the menu bar click Store > Sign In
Click Purchases from the top of the App Store window.
Select which apps you want to re download. Then right or control click where you see Installed then click Install.
Make sure and use the same Apple ID used for the original purchase. -

Follow this procedure:
1. Go to Settings > iTunes & App Stores > Apple ID.
2. Tap your Apple ID.
3. Tap View Apple ID.
4. Enter your password.
5. Go to Country/Region in the popup window to change to the desired store.

Yeah, I don't see why you shouldn't be able to sign your friend's iTunes sign-on into iTunes, and then use that to download the books. You may need to also authorize your computer in iTunes with that ID in order to be able to re-download them to your device if you ever need to (not sure if this is absolutely required since most things live in the cloud now, but better to be safe than sorry.... ).

Downgrading the iOS is not supported, and likely has caused the problems you are experiencing.
