Can't connect to Exchange Server - Upgraded Policies

My company just upgraded their policies and said that with an iPhone it will auto encrypt but they had no idea about a Windows phone.  I get an error code 86000C2B saying certain policy's need to be enforced but no solution is given?  Help

vanhoogy, I saw your distress call in this post. I can assist you with this corporate e-mail issue. Did your employer provide you with the new port settings information? These port settings should be provided by the service provider or administrator. Please be advised that you must insert the correct username/password to verify that a you are authorized to send and recieve messages using that particular server. If the provider uses a username / password combination to authenticate senders, the combination must be valid for both the incoming and outgoing servers. Otherwise, attempts to add your work e-mail address will fail.
Are you attempting to sync to an Exchange 2010 mail system, Outlook Web App, Outlook Anywhere or ActiveSync/EAS with a Windows device?

  • Can't connect to exchange server after 1/4/2011 am update - anyone else?

Woke up this am and phone is unable to connect to exchange server for email. Last email received was @4:35am. I've reentered my password to confirm and exchange is working fine on Desktop. Any suggestions?

I'm pretty sure that the combination is right. On my macs everything works fine. Is there another reason why the exchange server could reject the iPhone? Similar to the 3.1 problems with the hardware encryption?

  • Can't connect to Exchange after upgrading to 3.1.3

I upgraded to 3.1.3 yesterday. I can no longer connect to my work's Exchange Server. Other people at work are still able to connect. No one else is on 3.1.3.
I have deleted my account in Settings and set it up again (lots of times).
    Amyone have any suggestions?

How to prove Exchange Account work on the iPhone.
Step 1. Sign up for a free Gmail account. http://mail.google.com/mail/signup
Step 2. On the iPhone add the Gmail account using Exchange Active Sync. iPhone>settings>Mail Contacts Calendars>add account>Microsoft Exchange>
    Then http://www.google.com/support/mobile/bin/answer.py?answer=138740&topic=14252
    Step 3. Enter Account Info
-In the Email field, enter your full Google Account email address. If you use an @googlemail.com address, you may see an "Unable to verify certificate" warning when you proceed to the next step.
    -Leave the Domain field blank.
-Enter your full Google Account email address as the Username.
-Enter your Google Account password as the Password.
-Tap Next at the top of your screen.
-Choose Accept if the Unable to Verify Certificate dialog appears.
-When the new Server field appears, enter m.google.com.
-Press Next at the top of your screen again.
-Select the Google services you want to sync.
-Unless you want to delete all the existing Contacts and Calendars on your phone, select the Keep on my iPhone option when prompted. This will also allow you to keep syncing with your computer via iTunes.
If you want to sync only the My Contacts group, you must choose to Delete Existing Contacts during the Google Sync install when prompted. If you choose to keep existing contacts, it will sync the contents of the "All Contacts" group instead.
Step 4. Now that you have an Exchange Active Sync account does it work? If so then you have just proved that the iPhone can use Exchange Active Sync fine and that it is a setting for your own individual Exchange account that is not setup correctly. This could be you missing a setting or it being setup incorrectly. It could also be a setting on the Exchange server itself that needs looking into.

  • Outlook 2013 can't connect to Exchange server

Trying to set up Outlook 2013 on my new work laptop. I have the correct Exchange server name  and emaill address, but get the error message "The connection to Microsoft Exchange is unavailable. Outlook must be online or connected to complete this
action." In fact, I'm online and connected to the internet. When I open up a "CMD" window, I can ping the server, so I know my computer can see the server, only Outlook can't. My laptop is running Windows 7, 64-bit. The Office/Outlook 2013 is
64-bit as well.  I've tried with my firewall both on or off, and it doesn't seem to make any difference.
btw - I have essentially the same configuration set up on my iPhone, and can send and receive emails with no issue.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to resolve this issue.

    Hi
As per the information and details provided by you, to connect the Outlook 2013 from Exchange server please follow these steps: -
    1. Open Outlook 2010 or Outlook 2013. If the Outlook startup wizard appears, on the first page of the wizard, click Next. Then, on the Email Accounts page, click Next to set up an email account.
If Outlook startup wizard does not appear, on the Outlook toolbar, click the File tab. Then, just above the Account Settings button, Click Add Account.
    2. On the Auto Account Setup page, Outlook may automatically fill in the Your Name and Emil Address settings based on how you are logged on to your computer. If the setting is filled in and they are correct, click Next to
have Outlook finish setting up your account. If the settings on the Auto Account Setup page are not filled in or are not correct, do the following steps: -
    • If the settings on the Auto Account Setup page doesn't fill in, type the correct settings based on the information that was provided to you by the person who manages your email account.
    • If the name in the Your Name box is not correct, you may need to reset the options on the Auto Account Setup page before you can edit your name. To reset the options, click the option button next to manually configure
server settings or additional server types, and then click the option button next to Email Account.
    3. After you click Next on the Auto Account Setup page, Outlook will search online to find your email server settings. You will be prompted to enter your user name, password during this search. Make sure that you enter your
full email address as your user name.
If Outlook is able to set up your account, you will see the following text: Conguratulations, Your email account is successfully configured and ready to use. Click Finish.
I hope this information will be helpful for you.
    Thanks and regards

  • Mac can't connect to exchange server

    Hello everyone,
I'm having an issue with our mail environment.
Windows users and phone users (iOS and Android) are working
But when I try to configure a Exchange mailbox it doesn't work.
It says: Username and password is incorrect.
Even with Domain in front of it and a password reset, it still doens't work.
We tried mail for mac, outlook for mac 2011 and some other clients.
    any fixes/idea's ??

I tested it with my Windows Computer at home, which configures it after I manually set Outlook Anywhere and put it the information. So Autodiscover is working half I guess?
My colleague also tested it at home, with a MacBook but sadly enough it doesn't work.
Last week it kept asking for username and password, but that is somehow fixed.
It now just accepts the username and password, and tries too accept. Normally you'll have a green dot if it is succesful but it stays orange and can't connect even though it seems to verify the username and password.
I think we are close, but can't find anything in the logs so far.
PS: I opened an other topic, but I don't know if it's related to this problem.
    Outlook Anywhere Autodiscover
SOLUTION: Since we were brainstorming yesterday, we found out the server were not in such a good shape as we thought. All HUB/CAS Server had a restart pending, tons op updates, so we fixed that first.
After that we found out, 1 of the HUB/CAS server didn't have Windows Auth enabled in EWS.
We enabled the Windows Auth, and the Mac OSX clients were connecting after like 10 minutes.

  • Can't connect to Exchange server.

I am having trouble connecting my Outlook 2013 to my work Exchange server. I am fairly certain the problem is that the certificate from my work account is the issue and that Outlook 2013 doesn't trust it. I have turned off Windows Firewall, so that shouldn't
be interfering anymore. I'm having the same trouble getting my Samsung Galaxy S4 to connect as well. I think the real trouble may lie in the expiration date of the certificate. Is there any way to create an exception or override Outlook so that I can
    connect to my work server?

    Hello,
Based on your description if Exchange certificate has expired you should buy new certificate or deploy your own CA and issue certificate for your server.
    Hope it helps,

  • Can't connect to Exchange Server 2007

    Hi,
I have problems to set everything up, probably someone has a solution for this problem? After entering my account data the autodiscovery fails (see log below, the password is not wrong :)) I have to enter the server settings manually. Apple Mail was able to use autodiscovery to set everything up.
So I entered the correct server settings, but the iPhone can't establish a connection to the server.
As already said, I'm using Exchange 2007, and an iPhone 3G 3.0.1. Anyone had this problem before?

I'm pretty sure that the combination is right. On my macs everything works fine. Is there another reason why the exchange server could reject the iPhone? Similar to the 3.1 problems with the hardware encryption?

  • Outlook Can't connect to Exchange Server

    Dear All;
I install the exchange server 2013 in our Environment with basic configurations, it was work correctly in out look and OWA.
In this period I install  outlook Clint  and connect to exchange correctly , Then I log in to Exchange Administrations Center , then make some changes , after that i can't connect  outlook Clint  to exchange server  while I
can connect to OWA but with error message related to Certificate.(Kindly check the screen shoot of error )
Kindly help me to solve this issue I beginner  with Exchange.

Here are the default permissions for the Exchange virtual directories:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg247612(v=exchg.150).aspx
I found that the print in the screenshots was not clear - maybe it's me or my browser.
What names do you have on the certificate?
    exchange.abc.local
    Is that it?
Is this a self-signed certificate? Or did you get it from Digicert, VeriSign, GoDaddy or some other 3rd party authority?
Regardless, the URLs for the virtual directories, OWA in particular, have to match what is on the cert.
    So OWA might be:
    https://mail.exchange.abc.local/owa
    Other possibility:
    https://webmail.exchange.abc.local/owa
Since exchange.abc.local is what you have on the cert, the URL has to configured as shown above. You can use "mail", "webmail" or whatever just before (once again, as shown above) but you have to make sure that is what the users enter
when they attempt to access email.
Please mark as helpful if you find my contribution useful or as an answer if it does answer your question. That will encourage me - and others - to take time out to help you.

  • Why can't I connect to Exchange Server 2003? I'm using OS Lion. My iphone connects, what am I doing wrong?

Why can't I connect to Exchange Server 2003? I'm using OS Lion. My iphone connects, what am I doing wrong?

the iPhone uses active sync. Desktop clients do not. Desktop clients use another exchange protocol (which i can't remember as i'm not a microsofty).
Just because you can access via active sync doesn't mean you can access it by other methods, and vice versa.

  • What is required to Exchange integration work - (Can't connect to Exchange Web Server)?

    Hi guys,
We have just 'beaten' our Lync installation until it decided to work with mobility, however the clients (IOS) complain that it "Can't connect to Exchange Web Server". Entirely possible its our own fault!
    My question is:
What exactly do I need to configure to make this work?
    DNS records,
    Firewall rules,
    etc.
    We are running:
    Exchange 2010 on-premise
    TMG 2010
    Cheers
    Dave
    Dave

    Hi Dave,
The Lync 2010 mobile client for iPhone and iPad has a Meeting tab that lists meetings for the day from the Exchange calendar.
The client uses simple Exchange Autodiscover processes to determine the location of the Exchange server of the user who is signed in. The SIP Uniform Resource Identifier (URI) of the user is used in the attempt to discover the Exchange Web Services (EWS) endpoint.
However, if the user’s SIP URI and email address are different, the Autodiscover process will fail, the Meeting tab will be blank, and Exchange Unified Messaging (UM) voicemail in the Phone tab will not sync.
For disjointed email and SIP URIs, the Lync 2010 mobile client for iPhone and iPad lets the user specify a different set of credentials for Exchange integration. For the Exchange Autodiscover process to work correctly, the necessary DNS records must be available.
To confirm that Autodiscover is working, use Microsoft Remote Connectivity Analzyer at http://www.testexchangeconnectivity.com (http://www.testexchangeconnectivity.com/)
In addition, please also refer to this document
    Lync 2010 Integration. Hope helps.

  • Outlook 2013 Can't connect to Exchange or ping Exchange server.....Very Weird!!!!

The CEO of one of our clients has 2 workstations we'll call them Old and New Dells.
He'd RDP into his new Dell and Outlook will not connect to Exchange and eventually stops responding. His old Dell work just fine.
We restarted the new Dell and the problem persists. I tried pinging the Exchange server and don't get a response. I ping the other servers in the network and I get responses from all of them. On the new Dell I tried going OWA and the website failed to load.
The old Dell has no such issues. Not sure what's going on and could use some guidance. I tried disabling the firewall and that didn't work. It looks like it's only affecting his new Dell, I have not heard of any other users reporting problems. Any ideas?

    Hi,
Since you can't ping the Exchange server, it's more likely a server side issue. This forum is for general questions and feedback related to Office client side issues, it's better to post your question to the Exchange server forum to get further assistance:

  • Can ColdFusion 10 connects to Exchange Server 2013?

There are lots of forums and chats about ColdFusion 10 connecting to Exchange Server 2010. Does anybody knows whether ColdFusion 10 can connects to Exchange Server 2013. If you do know, what are the steps involved? I have tried all the tricks used in ColdFusion 10 connecting to Exchange Server 2010 and still cannot connect to Exchange Server 2013.

Found a solution. Yes you can connect ColdFusion 10 to Exchange Server 2013 but there is a slight twist to the solution if you want to use cfexchangeXXXXX functionalities.
    1. Ensure that you have imported the Exchange Server 2013 certificate into ColdFusion 10 server.
    2. When calling cfexchangeconnection, add:
    serverversion="2010"
    Protocol="https"
    formbasedauthentication="TRUE"
    formbasedauthenticationURL="XXXXXX"
If serverversion is missing, it will default to 2007 server.

  • Can't connect to Exchange2003 Server through WRT54GS (via wireless)

I'm having problems conencting to my MS Exchange 2003 server, from an Outlook 2003 Client, when using wireless on a WRT54GS.
    Hard wired - works fine.
Wireless - connection times out ("unable to connect to exchange server")
I can browse the internet through the wireless conenction, download (legal) music, etc. Cannot use Outlook/Exchange.
I disabled the "firewall" features on the router. (block external requests, etc)
    WEP is enabled.
The Router was bought about 6 months ago (original firmware)
any suggestions? anyone successfully using Exchange across a wireless conenction?

first i'd suggest that you upgrade to the latest firmware....also open ports 443-447 under the port forwarding section of the router.
