Can't connect to Facebook for HTC Sense

So I stopped receiving updates for my contacts from facebook on my Droid Incredible (no updated profile pics, no status updates from linked contacts, etc.). Logging into facebook worked just fine from the facebook app.  In my attempt to logout and log back in I think I ended up doing a remove account. Whoops.(I know just enough to be dangerous).  Now I can't readd the Facebook for HTC Sense account.  How do I get it back?
I tried to create the account with the email and password that I normally use. I get a text message saying that my facebook account was accessed by an HTC Sense device and then the Sign In never finishes...it just hangs.

Hi there,
did anyone ever give you the answer.  The same thing happened to me yesterday.
thanks!

  • Why was Facebook for HTC Sense re-enabled in 4.4.3 update, and why can it no longer be disabled in app manger?

    Many of us who disabled Facebook for HTC Sense in 4.4.2 have been unpleasantly surprised to find the 4.4.3 update has re-enabled that app/service, and unlike with 4.4.2  the box to disable it (in app manager -> all) is now greyed out, and unselectable.
    Why was this this app forced upon us? (Yes, we can temporarily force stop it, but that doesn't last long as it can re-enable itself - even before the phone is restarted or rebooted).
    If Verizon doesn't want upset m8 customers it should put out an update to the 4.4.3 update that allows us to permanently disable Facebook for HTC Sense once again.

    I completely agree.  I have ZERO interest in using Facebook and that was the first app I disabled when I bought my phone.  I am very disappointed to hear that Facebook is being forced back on us with the new 4.4.3 update.  I am not comfortable with rooting yet, or I would do that so I could uninstall this and every other piece of Verizon bloatware that I do not want.  It is my phone, right??  I distinctly remember using my money to pay for it!   I also don't have a lot of confidence that the instructions on rooting are completely up to date to account for any issues or speed bumps, especially for first-timers like myself.
    Interesting also how Verizon's release notes don't mention this "helpful feature."

  • Facebook for HTC Sense

    Some of my friends aren't showing up on the Facebook for HTC Sense list so I can't link them to my google contacts.  It looks like most of them show up but some (including my wife) don't show up.  Any ideas?

    Here's my issue:  Facebook Friends=n ; Facebook for HTC Sense Friends=n-1
    I'm missing one contact and can't figure out how to get it to show up.
    Anyone?

  • Facebook for Android/Facebook for HTC Sense

    i can't use Facebook for Android, as the FB for HTC Sense keeps overriding it.  is there a way to disable the FB for HTC Sense to use the FB for Android app?

    Try Stopping the Facebook for HTC Sense Application in the background.
    Option 1:
    1. Select Menu > Settings > Applications.
    2. If the application is not  listed, press Menuand select Filter > All.
    3. Select the app.
    4. Tap Force Stop.
    Stock applications on the device can not be removed.
    To remove applications:
    Go to: Menu - Settings - Applications - Manage Applications - (Choose the Application) App - Uninstall.

  • Facebook for HTC sense sync error

    For the past month the Facebook for HTC sense sync has been telling me "Sync is currently experiencing problems. It will be back shortly." But it has not fixed itself and will not sync with any of my contacts. I've tried removing it and adding it back on and it still will not work. Is there anyway to fix this?

    It's an HTC problem I've noticed it also. No fix other than HTC fixing on their end. You could try to log out, then back in? I just ignore it.

  • Facebook for HTC Sense not syncing with facebood profiles

    I had to have a factory reset on my incredible and now my contact list will not sync with facebook and pull in the profile pics for my contacts on my phone that have facebook accounts.  When I go to settings-acounts&sync-sync all, Facebood for HTC Sense does not seem to sync.  Does anyone know what I should do?
    Thanks!

    Hi Stingbo,
    I understand your concerns. It is inconvenient when our phones act differently after a factory reset. What software version are you running? Did you get the latest update for your Incredible?
    Please ensure that you have the latest software version installed as the first troubleshooting step to resolve your concerns. If you have updated to the latest software version and issue started after the update please keep in mind that it is normal for your phone to function differently after a software update and this may just be the way the new software version works.
    For a list of benefits for the latest software version and instructions to install please visit this LINK at your convenience.

  • Facebook for HTC

    When I look under "Manage Applications" I see Facebook for HTC Sense, but when I look under the list of applications (frm the home screen0  it is not there, does anyone know how to activate Facebook for HTC Sense?
    Thanks

    Differences between Facebook for HTC Sense and Facebook for Android application
    Facebook for HTC Sense is not a standalone application. It is integrated into People, Friend Stream, and Photos to give you up-to-date information about your Facebook contacts (their status updates and new photos) in these applications.
    The Facebook for Android application is a standalone application. Use this application to do most of the things that you would do when you’re using your computer's  web browser to access your Facebook account, such as adding a friend and adding captions to photos you upload.
    The two do not share the same login credentials. Signing in to Facebook for HTC Sense does not sign you in to the Facebook application and vice versa. If you want to use the same Facebook account for both, you’ll have to sign in to both using the same login credentials.

  • I can't connect to Facebook, it doesn't even register the site, and I can't even ping it in CMD?

    I can't connect to Facebook. I could this morning, but suddenly I can't anymore. It tries to load, and then says "The connection has timed out".
    I also can't connect with Internet Explorer. However, I can connect with Firefox, or IE from other computer (Other computer also has other internet provider).
    I can connect to any other site on the web, like I am now on Mozzila support.
    When I go to run, CMD, and type "ping www.facebook.com" it also says "Request timed out", and 4 packets lost. When I ping it, I get "star.c10r.facebook.com [31.13.64.65]". When I search for that IP i get "Facebook Ireland Ltd".
    When I do same ping on my other computer (and other internet provider) he pings "star.c10r.facebook.com [179.60.192.3]" and pings correctly. From that other computer I also can't ping first IP (31.13...), but from first computer (on which I can't go to Facebook site) I can ping second ping (179...) correctly, but I need to type it in manually. When I just type "ping www.facebook.com" it gives me that first IP that doesn't work (31...).
    Why does it happen, and why do I get different IP's when I type "ping www.facebook.com"?
    Any idea how to fix it?

    Some problems occurs when your Internet security program was set
    to trust the previous version of Firefox, but no longer recognizes your
    updated version as trusted. Now how to fix the problem: To allow
    Firefox to connect to the Internet again;
    * Make sure your Internet security software is up-to-date (i.e. you are running the latest version).
    * Remove Firefox from your program's list of trusted or recognized programs. For detailed instructions, see
    '''[https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/configure-firewalls-so-firefox-can-access-internet Configure firewalls so that Firefox can access the Internet.]''' {web link}
    Type '''about:preferences#advanced'''<Enter> in the address bar.
    Under '''Advanced,''' Select '''Network.'''
    Look for '''Configure How Firefox Connects''' and press the '''Settings''' button.
    Check the settings.
    Contact your ISP and have them check your service.

  • Can't connect to facebook from candy crush using my iphone 5?

    can't connect to facebook from candy crush using my iphone 5

    Returned home only to find the same situation with my home network. Much time on chat support with Apple. Short story long: Must have been corrupted software. Had to restore original original software then add back apps and music. Couldn't back up before doing the restore so I lost a bunch of pics, but at least the phone is working once again.

  • Can't connect to Facebook through WiFi - Lumina 92...

    Both my teenagers have just had upgrades to Nokia Lumina's at the weekend, from an HTC and a Huawei. Both phones are WM8 and both have the Amber update pre-installed.
    Unfortunately neither phone can connect with Facebook through the Wi-Fi but CAN connect through 3G. As both tariffs are on low monthly data usage, you can begin to imagine the annoyance they are displaying at having to switch off Wi-Fi just to make Facebook sync.
    Everything else works fine and I have trawled through numerous web pages and tried everything imaginable to get this to work, but no luck.
    If anybody else has had similar problems across their Wi-Fi, please can you share the solution and help restore some peace back to our household.
    Alas, both the previous WM8 phones worked flawlessly and my ancient HTC HD7 also works without a blip.

    Hi Squirrel23,
    Welcome to the Nokia forum.
    Are you using a Facebook app or you've setup your account via E-mail+accounts? Is this happening to just one specific Wi-Fi connection? Have you tried to connect to other Wi-Fi? Have you tried rebooting your phone? ^AR

  • I can't connect to facebook or youtube

    when i try to connect to facebook or youtube or gmail i redirected to a page that say that my flash player is outof date and i need to update it but when i click on updat my antivirus say it's virus what can i do to fix it

    Whenever you get a message / popup that software / files need to be updated,
    <u>'''''DO NOT USE ANY OF THE PROVIDED LINKS'''''</u>.
    While this may be a legitimate message, it could also be <u>'''''Malware or a Virus'''''</u>.
    Any time you want or need to check for upgrades,
    go to the web site of the <u>'''''True Owner'''''</u> of the program in question.
    For example, to check out Firefox, go to '''''[https://www.mozilla.org Mozilla.org]'''''. {web link}
    You can sent a report to '''The FBI''' via their web site
    '''''[http://www.ic3.gov/complaint/default.aspx Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3)]''''' {web link}
    You can also report such a site at;
    '''''[http://www.google.com/safebrowsing/report_phish/ Google Report Phishing Page]''''' {web link}
    which is the same when done while on site by going to
    '''''Help > Report Web Forgery'''''

  • Can't connect to facebook on iOS6

    Since my friends and I upgraded ours iPads 2 to iOS6 we can't connect properly to facebook using safari or the facebook app. Sometimes it just works and sometimes we get a message saying that "Safari could not open the page because the server stopped responding" or in facebook app that there is no connection to the internet. This are only happening with iOS6 devices, my other iOS devices aren't showing this error and my mac and my pc just work as expected.
    I already tried to reset the iPad... tried with other wi-fi connections... really doesn't know what is happening... and it is only happening on facebook... all other addresses are working properly.
    I don't know if it is just an issue with the brazilian version of iOS.. somebody can help me ?
    I'm starting to think that iOS6 is looking more as a microsoft product than a apple product... lot of problems... the maps app is terrible... =\... missing steve...
    Thanks !

    I'm on 4S IOS 6.0.1 and FB is working fine for me.
    Question:  Do you guys sync your contacts or have the privacy enabled for pictures etc for FB?
    I don't I wondering if that the reason why mine isn't crashing.

  • Can Cisco connect be used for small business web filtering?

    I am searching for a web filtering solution for our small church.  The core requirement is to use a hardware-based solution to filter all internet traffic.  Our current wiring looks like this: [ISP router] --> [switch] --> [Open Mesh wireless access points].  Can I connect a Linksys EA2700/3500/4500/6500 between the [ISP router] and the [Switch], disable the Linksys wireless, and use Cisco Connect to filter all the internet traffic?
    More info: We will only have a handful of wired/wireless devices which we have control over.  We expect most of the rest of the traffic to be generally outside our control via personally owned devices connecting thru the public wifi.  Therefore any solution which requires installation of software on individual devices will not work.
    (If there are other threads on this topic I'd be more than happy to read them, I just couldn't find any.)
    Thanks!!
