Returned home only to find the same situation with my home network. Much time on chat support with Apple. Short story long: Must have been corrupted software. Had to restore original original software then add back apps and music. Couldn't back up before doing the restore so I lost a bunch of pics, but at least the phone is working once again.

I bought a Nokia N8 recently. Its awesome but I still couldn't solve this problem.
I can't connect to the internet from my PC using N8 as a modem.
When I use Ovi Suite, it says "Failed to establish a network connection".
When I use the "Conn. PC to net." mode.. the application says "Valid connection could not be found". But I'm confident my operator's plans and settings/destinations are correct as I can connect and browse the internet from the phone. (Pls still say something if applicable)
When I try to connect to the internet using Windows Network and Sharing Center, it says "A device or driver is not functioning properly" or something similar
Pls help me with this problem. Its really, really urgent

You haven't establized a connection to the network, so you can't use MS network sharing which means you are sharing the PC connection to others. What you wanted is to use the N8 modem to connect to the network.
Uninstall Ovi Suites & install PC suites for your N8. Make sure all drivers are loaded properly. Run pcsuite & just click the network menu to connect to internet. By the way what's the version of your MS OS; XPsp3, Vista or Windows 7 ?

I have had my iPhone for a few months and have never been able to access the internet at home - I have a wireless router that works fine with my Macbook. My local reseller/Apple technician said it was likely that my router was too old to support multiple devices (even two) and recommended I buy and Airport Extreme, which I did. I set up the device, it works well on laptop, but iPhone still cannot connect to the internet. Very frustrating. If anyone has any advice, I'd be very grateful. Many thanks.

that helps to understand your setup! Usually you should set / activate the DHCP tab. DHCP means in simple terms, that the router sends all information necessary to browse the internet to your device automagically. In your case I can't spot any obvious problems.
An IP address (to identify the iPod) is available, as well as subnet mas, the routers IP address (=gateway) and name resolution servers (DNS, so www.apple.com gets translated into the proper IP address for the internal working of the internet). Usually DNS info is wrong and thus the names can not be resolved to IP addresses. You can test that as follows:
Open Safari on your iPod and connect to http://131.188.171.11 (it is my university departments web server). If you get a strange looking german web page instead of the error message, DNS is the troublemaker for you.
There exists the possibility that you have to use a proxy server for web access, but if you haven't have to set it up for your Macs, it shouldn't be necessary for the iPod either.
I don't know anyone with an Actiontec router, so I know nothing about any other peculiarities of that router.

Many newer wireless routers can create more than one network simultanesouly. If I wanted to do this, I'd set up a separate network for my child to use, then change the password during those times I wanted him to stay off the net. Or just pull the plug and keep the wireless transmitted (the plug) where he couldn't reach it.
If you're using a recent Airport Base Station or Time Capsule there are better options.

Try restoring the backup again. Your apps and other purchased media should have been restored from your backup if they were on your old phone when you backed it up.

Prepaid cards or gift certificates should clear the balance, yes. You could also put in a credit card to pay off the balance, then remove the card information once the balance has been cleared.

I can't connect to Facebook, it doesn't even register the site, and I can't even ping it in CMD?

I can't connect to Facebook. I could this morning, but suddenly I can't anymore. It tries to load, and then says "The connection has timed out".
I also can't connect with Internet Explorer. However, I can connect with Firefox, or IE from other computer (Other computer also has other internet provider).
I can connect to any other site on the web, like I am now on Mozzila support.
When I go to run, CMD, and type "ping www.facebook.com" it also says "Request timed out", and 4 packets lost. When I ping it, I get "star.c10r.facebook.com [31.13.64.65]". When I search for that IP i get "Facebook Ireland Ltd".
When I do same ping on my other computer (and other internet provider) he pings "star.c10r.facebook.com [179.60.192.3]" and pings correctly. From that other computer I also can't ping first IP (31.13...), but from first computer (on which I can't go to Facebook site) I can ping second ping (179...) correctly, but I need to type it in manually. When I just type "ping www.facebook.com" it gives me that first IP that doesn't work (31...).
Why does it happen, and why do I get different IP's when I type "ping www.facebook.com"?
Any idea how to fix it?

Cannot Connect to Facebook from Admin User

Just recently I am not able to connect to Facebook from my Admin User account, and it's the same for all three browsers. Something has changed in the config somewhere and I can't find it. I can login as Guest and access my Facebook just fine. I can load Windows via Parallels and access it just fine.
I have tried accessing the web via a different Modem and Network and still have the same problem. I have set the DNS server to 8.8.8.8. The Firewall is turned off. I do not have a firewall managers. I do not have any Parental controls turned on. I have created a seperate user with admin rights and the same problem occurs. I have flushed the DNS cache from terminal. I have tried pinging facebook, but it does not return a connection.
This is a stumper and I'm pulling my hair out. Any ideas anyone?

The cheapest Mac available new is a Mac Mini. It is no bigger than many an external hard drive. But the screen and keyboard and mouse must be purchased separately. They support USB and Bluetooth keyboards and mice, and pretty much any DVI, HDMI, or displayport display. Although the iMac is certainly an attractive option if all you want to deal with is deciding on a printer. I still recommend getting an Apple USB keyboard for the occasional times you may need to troubleshoot startup issues. Make sure you have checked off iCloud contacts in your Contacts app under Groups in upper left corner.

See if any if these suggestions get you connected again.
Go to Settings>General>Date and Time>Set Automatically>Off. Set the date one year ahead. Try to update the apps again. If you get an error message, go back to the settings. Correct the date and time (set automatically) then go back and try to update the apps again. You may have to experiment with the date a little bit... A year ahead, a few months ahead ....
Or ....Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Or ....If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Sign in and then try again.
