Can't connect to imessage on my iPhone 5. It says waiting for activation and when I try to sign in tells me to check my network connection. I've tried resetting the settings and network settings, turning it off and on, and nothing works. Any ideas?
Does the same thing for FaceTime

So..any suggestions? Just to note, it is definitely without a doubt sim free and unlocked to all networks.
Thanks in advance.
"SIM Free" does not mean the same thing as "Unlocked". SIM Free means you can use it with any carrier, but it will lock to the first carrier whose SIM you activate it with. The ONLY source for truly unlocked phones is direct from an Apple store or Apple Online.

when turn imessage on there is a message saying waiting for activation but it doesnt change anybody knows why?
Hi guys,
I keep getting "waiting for activation" on my iMessage. I can only send/receive iMessage from my email address, NOT my phone number.
I have done all kind of fixing suggestions that I can find online, but nothing works so far.
- Date & time set as automatic (I don't know why this matter, but mine was already set as automatic from the begining)
- Reset network setting
- Changing the DNS to 8.8.8.8.
- Restore to factory setting (from back up & as new iPhone)
- Turning on/off iMessage & facetime
- Sign out/in of apple ID
- Change location from apple ID
- Hard reset/reboot
And many others.
...me too. I'm in Portugal having the same issue!! Hopefuly Apple will give us a solution, shortly... -
My camera app on my iPhone 4 is not working. The app will open but the shutter will not open and I am unable to open the options, etc. I have tried closing all apps, closed and reopened my camera app, shut the phone off, did a hard stop and the camera still will not work. Any help ?
Hard reset. Hold the top lock button & Home Screen button til you see the White apple. Try camera afterwards.

Hi ashraf_8900,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I know that it can be frustrating when you cannot open iTunes or sign in with your Apple ID. There may be a few different troubleshooting steps I would recommend. I would first recommend that you completely uninstall iTunes and all of its related components in the correct order, however. Please use the attached article for information and instructions on removing iTunes from your computer. Once removed as described in the steps below, please install fresh and test. If the issue continues, please let me know.
Remove and reinstall iTunes and related software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8 - Apple Support
Steps
Remove iTunes and related components from the Control Panel.Use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order. Then restart your computer.
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support
Bonjour
Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
Don't uninstall these components in a different order, or only uninstall some of them. Doing so might have unintended affects.
Happy holidays,

I don't know what this means when it says that. How do I get my messaging back?
Hello Hiineedhelp,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities!
It sounds like the Messages app is stuck in actiavtion. Take a look at these steps from this article:
iOS: Troubleshooting FaceTime and iMessage activation
http://support.apple.com/kb/ts4268
Troubleshooting Apple ID activation
After each step, toggle iMessage and FaceTime off and then on again in Settings > Messages and Settings > FaceTime.
Update to the latest version of iOS.
Ensure that you have an active Internet connection. You can complete activation using Wi-Fi or a cellular data connection. Check your Wi-Fi network using standard Wi-Fi network troubleshooting.
If you receive an error when signing in to your Apple ID, visit myinfo.apple.com, sign in to your account, and ensure that the primary email address has been verified.
Ensure that FaceTime has not been restricted: Settings > General > Restrictions > FaceTime.
In Settings > General > Date & Time, ensure that Set Automatically is on. If Set Automatically is on, but the incorrect time zone is displayed, turn Set Automatically off and then choose the correct time zone, date, and time. Then turn Set Automatically on again.
Enable iMessage and FaceTime while connected to another Wi-Fi network in a different location.
When enabling FaceTime or iMessage on an iPhone, you may see "Waiting for Activation". This message refers to the activation of your telephone number only. You can use FaceTime and iMessage with your Apple ID even if your phone number has not completed activation. You can see that you've activated FaceTime and iMessage with your Apple ID here:
Settings > FaceTime > You can be reached by FaceTime at:
Settings > Messages > Send & Receive > You can be reached by iMessage at:
If that does not get Messages going again, I would try these steps from toward the bottom:
To sign out of your Apple ID
Go to Settings > FaceTime, tap your Apple ID, and select Sign Out.
Go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive, tap your Apple ID, and select Sign Out.
Cheers,

My iMessage on my iPhone wasn't working, so I turned it off under Settings and then tried to turn it back on again. It hasn't turned back on yet. It says, "waiting for activation.". Any ideas?
Turn the Message App off from the Task Bar, reboot and try again.

I'm trying to activate my iMessage & FaceTime with an email on my iPhone 4 , but it keeps saying “waiting for activation..” . So how do I activate it so it can work ?
Yes, I know. But at one point in activating FaceTime or iMessage you will need to be able to send a text message. If you can't, there will be no activation.
Check your device settings
Make sure that you’re connected to a cellular data or Wi-Fi network. If you're using an iPhone, you'll need SMS messaging to activate your phone number with iMessage and FaceTime. Depending on your carrier, you might be charged for this SMS.
