  • Can't connect to internet using Nokia Suite

Hello. I have a Nokia Asha 311. I could connect to internet using my USB cable and Nokia Suite without trouble in another computer similar to the one I'm using now. The difference is that that computer had windows 7 and this one has Windows xp (probably there are more differences, but this is the most noticeable). I have Nokia Suite version 3.8.48, it recognizes my phone, but everytime I tried to connect to the internet using the phone as modem, it says, inmediately (it isn't even trying to connect) "Failed to establish a network connection"
What can I do? If I was able to use my Nokia Asha 311 in the other computer as a modem, I'm sure I can use here too for that. But there is something preventing it from working well. What can it be? I have already read the other posts about similar issues but I haven't found any solution in them.

    Hi overo,
    Welcome to the forum!
Is the OS of your Windows XP PC updated? It's advisable to keep both PC and phone's software up-to-date. Try also to repair Nokia Suite to isolate the issue. Just click the PC's start button, and then go to All Programs > Control Panel > Installed applications. Select Nokia Suite, and then choose Uninstall / Change > Repair. After this step, try to share our phone's connection to your PC and see if it'll work. Make sure that Nokia Suite mode is selected in your Asha 311 when sharing the internet connection to your PC via Nokia Suite.

  • Ipad can't connect to internet using 30 pin

    Hi
My question is i am trying to connect to Internet using Ipad 2 WIFI version only.  By using 30 pin connector connects to my Mac Mini.  I thought this is supposed to work and able to connect to the internet, but it isn't happening.
I don't have WIFI access at this location so i need to connect to Internet by using Mac Mini as tethering.
    Please help or advice.
    thanks

You can create an ad-hoc Wi-Fi network on your Mac Mini using the built in airport card and network sharing pane.
Provided that you Mac Mini is on this will broadcast a Wi-FI signal that you can you can now connect your iPad to.
    Step by step
click on Apple menu and open System Preferences
Under Internet & Wireless click on the Sharing folder
In the left hand pane tick Internet sharing
In the right hand side where it says Share your connection from select Ethernet
Under To computers using tick Wi-Fi
Now click the Wi-Fi Options button
You are now going Add a name for your Wi-Fi Network  (It will broadcast its SSID by default)
    Select a channel select 6 or 11
Set a security level and password click ok. RIGHT DOWN THE PASSWORD !
Now go to your iPad .
Tap on Settings then Wifi and slide the Wifi button to on and allow iPad to scan for your network name.
When found tap on it and in the next window enter the password as written down.
You iPad will now be sharing the Mac Mini Internet and should allow you to use Safari/ e-mail etc......
All cable free as far as the iPad is concerned.

  • Can't connect to internet using 4G

So here's the deal. Recently upgraded to the 4S since my old iPhone broke. I had iCloud backup, used it, but I guess iCloud doesn't backup your music. So the other day I connected it to iTunes to get my music back and now I can't connect to the internet away from home. I can connect to wifi and use the net just fine, but can't use it via 4G. It obviously has something to do with the fact that I connected my phone to iTunes. Just not sure what to do here. I know I can restore my phone and the 4G service will likely work again, but that doesn't solve my issue permanently. I still need to connect to iTunes again to get my music back and to get updates etc. Any suggestions?

  • Connected to network but can't connect to internet using wireless

Hi, I just installed a Linksys WRT 45G and can connect my pc and my laptop to it and use the internet fine when I use ethernet cable, but if I try to use my laptop wirelessly I can't connect to the internet.  It says that I am connected to my network and that strength signal is excellent but no internet connection.  I have that bluetooth button on the front of the laptop turned on.  The laptop is a Toshiba Satellite with Centrino.  I was told that I don't need to buy a wireless card as the Centrino already does this.  Thanks in advance for your help.

I think you can try to update the firmware of the router, to check if that stops connection dropping. To update the firmware of router try this: 1. Go to www.linksys.com/download and select correct model number and version number. Download the firmware and save it on your computer. 2. Check the file it sould be firmware image file like .bin etc. If it is a compressed zip file extract it to get firmware image file. 3. Open setup page of router by typing http://192.168.1.1 in browser’s address bar, and typing password as "admin" and no user name. 4. Go to administartion tab there 5. Go to fimware update sub-tab there 6. Browse for the firmware image file and click update 7. when update completes turn off modem & router. 8. After 2 minutes turn on modem and after 2 more minutes turn on router. To get network key, connect your computer to one of the four ports on router using ethernet cable. 1. Open setup page of router by typing http://192.168.1.1 in browser’s address bar, and typing password as "admin" and no user name. Use your password if you have changed it earlier 2. Go to wireless tab. 3. Go to wireless security sub-tab 4. If security mode is wpa or wpa2 note down passphrase/shared key, if security mode is WEP note down wep key number 1. This will be your network key Well you need to input all the wireless settings of your wireless network on Wii. To get these settings: 1. Open setup page of router by typing http://192.168.1.1 in browser’s address bar, and typing password as "admin" and no user name. 2. Goto wireless tab. Here you will get the wireless network name/SSID. Here make sure wireless SSID broadcast is enabled. 3. Now goto wireless security sub-tab and here you will get the security mode and the security key. If security type is WPA note passphrase/shared key, and if its WEP note down wep encryption level and key 1 from listed 4 keys

  • Can't connect to Internet using airport

I am trying to connect to internet wirelessly, using my Airport Extreme (802.11n), but it won't work. When I use the ethernet cable directly to my MacBook Pro (as I am now) internet comes fine. I have done many tests, change configuration, but nothing works. I really don't know what the problem is and what to do.
    Thks for helping,
    Marco

Just as an update, I have been able to reestablish connection by resetting the airport base.

  • Can't Connect to Internet using AirPort Extreme Card and DLink Router

I have tried just about everything, but I can't seem to connect my MAC OS X 10.3.9 to the internet. I am using the Airport Extreme Card and no networks show up. I am trying to connect to my DLink router. I was told by DLink that it is compatible with AirPort Extreme cards, but the guys at Best Buy were unable to connect to their wireless routers, other than their Mac Router. Please let me know if you have a solution! Thanks

    What Mac do you have?
Do you have iMac G5 or a Power Mac G5?
Did you install the AirPort Extreme card yourself?

  • Can't connect to internet using 3G or WLan on Satellite A110-178

I am not able to connect to the internet neither with my 3G modem or wireless.
The error messages says i should check the settings or that it's impossible to find any connections.
When i turn on the computer, i've noticed that it takes longer than usual and there comes an error message which says this:
+"Failed to connect to a windows service windows could not connect to the System Event Notification Service service.+
+This problem prevents limited users from logging on to the system. As an administrative user, you can review the System Event Log for details about why the service didn't respond."+
I would most appreciate any ideas on how to solve this. i've tried to turn off my antivirus program as well as the firewall and all the things my 3G support
    told me to do.
    Thanks a lot!
    /Lena

    Hey Lena,
Have you already checked the system event log as the error message suggest? This is always an interesting thing where you can try to find more informations about this error so please check this first!!!
Im not a Windows specialist but check the Services (Start > Run > services.msc). Make sure that System Event Notification Service is running or try restarting this service.
By the way: Can you also tell us what OS you are using at the moment?
The driver for WLAN card is up to date?

  • Can't connect to internet via Nokia Suite 3.7

Situation: Win8 pro 64bit Nokia N9 64gb Nokia Suite 3.7 (downgraded to 3.6.36 which still works right) When trying to create internet connection using latest version (3.7) of Nokia Suite, it will say there's problem with configuration or "modem is already in use". With older version (3.6.36) internet-connection is working as it should. Please fix that to your next release

  • Can't connect to internet using my airport, PPPoE connection. Any suggestions?

I am trying to use my airport express as a wireless router. My internet connection is a PPPoE one.
    Any suggestions?

Is it really? In the apple web page it says it´s a router that you could use for an apartment network, up to 10 users. That´s actually my case. It´s still an old one that I haven´t used for almost 3 years. Bought it in 2006.

  • Can't connect to internet using a WPA2 key

Compaq Presario with xp. Oldish but with service pack 3. But we have router with WPA2. Computer won't recognize key code from back of router. Tried to 'update' to KB893357 which gives WPA2, put message said the computer's program is 'newer' so update not
needed. Still can't use key. No error message either, just quits trying, and not connected. (Ethernet cable works ok, but we want wireless). What can I do now?

The drivers for the wifi adapter must also support wpa2. Search the manufacturers website for updated drivers. However some old wifi adapters do not support wpa2 at all, so the best option would then be to purchase a usb wifi dongle. These are pretty cheap.

  • I can't connect to internet using Time Capsule router.

My hard drive recently died. I took the iMac to the Apple store and had a 500 GB hard drive installed. I disconnected my Time Capsule so the Apple rep could restore my data. Now when I try to reconnect to the internet via Time Capsule router, it won't connect. The cable modem is fine, and the Time Capsule's status seems OK with the green light. It even seems to be backing up OK. I don't think I did anything differently, other than unplug it in order to have the Apple rep restore my data. Any thoughts out there?

It sounds like the cable company neglected to mention to you that you must completely reset the modem whenever you change the device that it is connected to. That's because the modem "associates" with a device and "remembers" the settings.
If you then change devices, the modem will "look" for the old device that was connected to it and it will of course not "find" it, so it won't connect.
That's why you need to do the complete sequence that I provided.
If you still cannot connect after the complete reset, then you may have a defective modem. I'm not trying to pick on the cable company....and yours may be an exception...but the last time my modem was having problems, the provider kept insisting that "everything looks good". But, they always say that.
I turned the modem off and called them back an hour later and they still said "everything looks good".
An Ethernet cable has a slightly wider plug than a phone cable. If that's the only connector on the modem, then it must be the right one. Ethernet cables do fail. You might want to check your cable, just in case.
