Hi,
how exactly did you do that?
I have the same problem, I tried everything (including upgrading my macbook pro to os x yosemite),
but my iPhone 4S still won´t connect.
Care to share how you resolved it?

    You cannot connect at a wi-fi hotspot, or on a secure network?  Do you show any signal strength?  Do you show any available networks?

    If you're currently unable to connect to either the iTunes Store or the App Store on your iPad, then I'd like you to please follow the troubleshooting steps outlined below.
    Troubleshoot issues on an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
    If you haven't been able to connect to the iTunes Store:
    Make sure your date, time, and time zone are correct in Settings > General > Date & Time. 
    Note: Time Zone may list another city in your time zone.
    Make sure that your iOS software is up to date by tapping Settings > General > Software Update(iOS 5 or later) or connecting your iOS device to iTunes and clicking Check for Update on your device's Summary page.
    Check and verify that you're in range of a Wi-Fi router or base station. If you're on a device with cellular service, make sure that cellular data is turned on from Settings > General > Cellular.
    Note: If connected to cellular data, larger items may not download. You may need to connect to Wi-Fi to download apps, videos, and podcasts.
    Make sure that you have an active Internet connection. You can check the user guide for your device for help with connecting to the Internet.
    Make sure that other devices (portable computers, for example) are able to connect to the Wi-Fi network and access the Internet.
    Try resetting (turning off and then on again) your Wi-Fi router.
    If the issue persists, try troubleshooting your Wi-Fi networks and connections.
    If the steps above didn't resolve your issue, be sure that your specific alert isn't listed as a possible iTunes Store error. Then, if your issue is still unresolved, follow these steps.

  • Connect to iTunes after installing iOS 8.0.2 on iPhone 5S

    I have an iPhone 5S (AT&T) which I had installed iOS 8.0 on. This morning I attempted to update OTA (over-the-air) to iOS 8.0.2 on my home Wifi. It downloaded fine and then after it prompted to install it showed Verifying Update for about 10 minutes. It then restarted and I streamed some music using it. I then noticed that it was "Searchng..." for the network. So I went to work and tried again from the office. I tried to install the update since the phone was already not connecting to the AT&T network after turning the phone off/on several times and after turning airplane mode on/off several times. I then was presented with the Connect to iTunes screen. I haven't synced my phone to my computer since I first got the 5S. I plug the phone into my Windows 7 computer with the latest version of iTunes installed and it keeps saying USB Device Not Recognized. I have tried using different USB ports and flipping the Lightning cable around, but it is still not working. Every time I try to turn my phone off and back on it shows the Connect to iTunes screen.

    Just updated iOS 6 and when I click on passbook or iTunes I get a message saying "cannot connect to iTunes Store"

    Me too, but updated on 6 Jan 13 - how did you resove the issue? I have tried changing the date setting and accessing vis Passbook to no avail.

    I'm having the same issue.   Resetting all settings doesn't help.  I had to turn off wifi sync to keep it from rebooting constantly even when not connected.

  • Can't connect to iTunes after iOS 6 upgrade

    I upgraded my iPod touch gen 4 to iOS 6 and upon restart of the device - I get a persistant screen on the device that is telling me to conneect to iTunes (image of cable connector with arrow pointing to the iTunes icon)
    When I launch iTunes (yes - it is the latest version for Windows 7, I upgraded before I did the iOS6 update) it does not show my device as connected...
    I've tried powering off the device and then re-starting it, but it just shows the apple logo for a few seconds before it switches back to displaying the screen I've described above.

    I went to the Wi-Fi menu and clicked on the Wi-Fi network and changed the HTTP proxy from off to auto and it now it works.

    In order for you to solve this problem you have to follow these stept if your running windows:
    1'st step is to go into the device manager
    2 step is to go to portable devices (it is rught under network adapters)
    3 step is to right clic apple iphone and click update drivers
    4 step is to brows your drivers from C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers
    After that your itunes will pump up alown and youl see your iphone right there.

    The only but is there are again some problems with upgrading from 10.6 to 10.7, but this is another story.

    Hello! I've been here before. Same problem, different version.
    I was here a few months ago when I couldn't connect to the iTunes store version 7. Everyone was so helpful (I believe it was Katrina S.) and after fixing the firewall issue I was able to connect, thank you.
    iTunes 8 came out and I elected to upgrade. . .stupid me. I have the same problem again, but I fixed the firewalls on the last version. What the hey is going on? Anyone else have this issue? Is there a fix out there? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    Most likely the problem is again with some firewall/privacy filter. Are you running any of Symantec's (Norton) or McAfee's Internet security products or anything similar, or an antivirus/antispyware application? Some such utilities treat an upgrade to iTunes as a new application and can block the application from connecting. So you have to go in and reset the utility to allow iTunes. The same thing can happen if you upgrade the security product (this has particularly been a problem with recent McAfee upgrades).
    Check the settings for your utility. If iTunes is still listed, remove and re-enable the exception for iTunes. Consult your utility's documentation for the appropriate procedure; you can find instructions for Norton on Symantec's web page for iTunes. You may also need to check the built-in Windows firewall as well.

    I recently had to download new software for my husbands iPhone 4. It had not been updated in over a year. I synced his phone and made sure there was a fresh backup. After I downloaded the new software and installed it on the phone it will not find his backup. iTunes also does not show his phone as one I'm able to select. I is recognizing it as a new device.
