Can't connect to itunes player from my browser

I downloaded the win7 64 bit ver. of itunes player which works fine. However when I follow a link from an itunes university podcast from my firefox browser to be played on my computer I keep getting a must load itunes player page. As I stated I can use itunes with no problem. In fact I'm listening to blues from itunes radio now.

Everything works fine on my PC but when i connect to wifi i just cannot connect to the itunes store from the Ipod itself. The internet is working great on Safari. Can someone please help!

why would the network settings need to be reset? I can connect to the internet just fine.
I am the ISP so i know theres no problems BTW. All ports are wide open throughout my subscriber network.

Can not connect to iTune Store from 1 user only.

I have 2 user accounts on this computer. one is an admin account it connects fine. The other account will not connect. It says accessing iTune Store but nothing happens. One time it came up with "can not connect error (-50)"

Well I got the iTunes store working. Not sure if this will work for you or not.
I logged in with my administrator account, went into System Preferences, selected Accounts, made the user that could not access the iTunes Store an administrator. I then logged in as that user, launched iTunes, and was able to connect to the iTunes Store (though it did seem to take an excessive amount of time the first time it connected). I shutdown iTunes, logged out of that user, went back into preferences, turned off Administrator rights for that user, and turned on any parental controls that were necessary.
I then logged in as the user again and iTunes was able to connect to the iTunes Store.
I was then able to sync his iPod Touch and download the 2.0 update without any problems.

Reset... No Data or Settings will be lost...
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Release the Buttons.

HELP! I can't download any iTunes updates from my browser!

HELP! I've been trying in vain to download the iTunes updates as they come out. When I click on the update button, I am taken to the download page on the apple site. There I see two separate collums: On the right, a blue collum describing the new features of iTunes, on the left, a collum where I am to enter my user info and click download... only my browser doesn't let me enter any information or click any download button; there is nothing there to enter! That collum is blank. I've had to go onto another computer and download the software and THEN burn it onto a CD. HELP ME!!! This also happens when I try to download any new iPod software update too.
This happens both when I use the latest versions of IE and FireFox.

I went ahead and entered apple.com into my safe list in Privacy Service, so hopefully that will stop it from happening. If not, at least I know how to get around it.
that's a good idea. a version of this problem also hits the ipod software updater download page. so if you ever need a copy of that, and you can't see the download buttons there, the same trick should work for you.

HT204406 iTune 11556 error message! Just finish uploading my music and can't connect to iTune match!

After purchasing iTune Match & almost finishing uploading 2500 songs, I can't connected to iTune match from either my Macmini or iPad. It gives me the 11556 error message. Anyone encountered the same problem and have any clue how to fix it please.

I've been experiencing the same problem for the past month. I thought that it might be my older 3rd generation apple TV, so I purchased a new one yesterday. Hooked the new one up this morning and I'm experiencing the same problems. I've rebooted the apple tv a few times which doesnt really seem to help. I'm guessing it has something to do with my home network. I took the Apple TV to the beach with me last week and didn't get any error loading problems. I guess now I just need to figure out what I need to change on my network to hopefully remedy this problem. ugh, it's always something.

I can not connect to iTunes store from my mobile divices. I can through iTunes on my Macbook Pro running Leopard (10.6.8). My company has not authorized update to Lion yet.
I have the same problem on my iPhone and iPad 1. This has occured since updating to IOS 5.0.1, but I do not know if it is the cause or just a coincidence.
Since I can make purchases through my Macbook and sync, it's not a crisis, but just an big irritation.

Apple ID problems.
An additional consideration might be that I have had Apple ID problems. With the move to an ID for iCloud my old Apple ID and a new one using an email address got mixed up and in conflict. It took Apple Support staff to clean it up. For a few days, everything seemed to be running fine on my new/old/restored single ID. I did not think this was a problem, because the error sited a connection problem not an ID or password problem. Could this be a factor?

Thanks this worked for me. Only mine was already set to "From third parties and advertisers". I just switched it to "never". Then I opened itunes and it worked. So I went back and changed it to "From third parties and advertisers" and all is well. iTunes works fine!

Back up all data.
Unlock the Network preference pane, if necessary, by clicking the lock icon in the lower left corner and entering your password. Cllck Advanced, open the DNS tab, and change the server addresses to the following:
          8.8.8.8
          8.8.4.4
That's Google DNS. Click OK, then Apply.
In Safari, select
          Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data
and confirm. If you’re using another browser, empty the cache. Test. Any difference?
Notes:
1. If you lose Internet access after making the above change to your network settings, delete the Google servers in the Network preference pane, then select the TCP/IP tab and click Renew DHCP Lease. That should restore the original DNS settings; otherwise restore them yourself. Remember that you must click Apply in order for any changes to take effect.
2. I don't use Google DNS myself, though I have tested it, and I'm not recommending it or any other DNS provider; the server addresses are offered merely for testing purposes. There may be privacy and technical issues involved in using that service, which you should investigate personally before you decide whether to keep the settings. Other public DNS services exist.

Ok...i got a new iPad and I was Able to sync it with no problem. I have a few magazines and i cant down load them it says it doesnot recogize me so I wrote to the app support and they requested the purchase history from my pc I can see it but from my ipad i try to go into my itunes purchases and gives me the message can not connect to itunes. See if any if these suggestions get you connected again.
Go to Settings>General>Date and Time>Set Automatically>Off. Set the date one year ahead. Try to update the apps again. If you get an error message, go back to the settings. Correct the date and time (set automatically) then go back and try to update the apps again. You may have to experiment with the date a little bit... A year ahead, a few months ahead ....
Or ....Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Or ....If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Sign in and then try again.

Can't connect to airplay speakers from iTunes

I suddenly can't connect to airplay speakers from iTunes on my new Macbook Pro - they are visible but cannot be selected. I can connect to them from other Macs and iPads. Can anyone help, pls? I have set the whole network up several times, rebooted system ie.

I had this happen to me on the odd occasion but now have it sorted. If I'm going to use my Airport Epress(s) I first make sure that my PC is connecting to the AE before I even turn on iTunes.
A problem I was having was that my PC was connecting to my wireless router by default (specifically when my laptop was turned off) and not to the AE. As a consequence when iTunes started it greyed out the remote speakers and sometimes the button was not even showing up.
Now that I ensure my PC is talking to the AE everytime I do not have a problem.
I do have one annoying thing with the AE setup though, if I'm playing music over the AE and I unplug any USB device (printer, USB Key, External drive etc) the wireless connection is broken and I have to start iTunes. I suspect it is a hardware issue relating to my particular HP PC as I have just reformatted and reinstalled Windows XP and it still happens. I can live with it.
