Can't connect to iTunes store after getting dumped mid-download
So iTunes crashed while I was in the middle of downloading an album. Now I can't connect to the store to check for purchases and finish the download. I've tried everything I've found in the discussion forums and am using the most current version of iTunes, rebooted, restarted my DSL and wireless routers, flushed DNS, yadda yadda. What gives?
Error Message: iTunes could not connect to the iTunes store. Make sure your internet connection is active and try again.
Well, I'm posting this, so I think the active connection stuff is crap. I can't connect to the store through the regular website either. Bah!
Thanks for any help anyone can offer~~
I was having the same problem earlier today, and what I ultimately did to solve the issue was:
Completely uninstall iTunes 10.5 by following http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1925
Find my backup iTunes Library File (*.itl) from the previous version, and copy it to "iTunes Library.itl"
See http://technicallyeasy.net/2009/03/restoring-a-previous-version-of-your-itunes-l ibrary/
Reinstall with the previous software, iTunes 10.4.1
The fact that the old 10.4.1 software works correctly in accessing the iTunes Store, and the new 10.5 software does not work correctly, suggests to me that there is some kind of bug in the iTunes 10.5 application itself. Hopefully the developers can figure it out. In the meantime, I'm happily working again on the previous version and will be planning to stay there until this mess has been cleared up.

Can't connect to iTunes store after upgrade to iTunes 10.5
I've been trying to get this to work all day. I've done the whole uninstall in this order and reinstall several times to no avail. I've also tried the "netsh winsock reset" thing I saw on another question which also didn't work.
On top of this whenever I try to sync my ipod touch 4g with it, it says that the iPod touch timed out so it couldn't sync (tried to sync several times).
Then I tried to upgrade to iOS 5 (also tried several times) but all I get is a frozen iTunes or the it hangs up on the backup phase. Can someone please help me solve this?!

Message was edited by: mikelj13I am afraid the are many possible causes for this.
Have you ever been able to connect to the store? If so, did you change anything just before the problem occurred?
The best way to start is to post your iTunes network connectivity diagnostics:
Help>>Run Diagnostics>>Network connectivity tests.
Paste the entire result into your next post.
In the mean time, you will see a number of threads about this which may give you some help.
Try briefly turning off your firewall to see if that allows connection. Think about other aspects of security software, antiphishing filters, popup blockers, parental controls. Web accelerators and proxy servers can also cause problems. -

My question has not be answers yet,I am using iPad 3 and I can not get to connect to iTunes Store to download anything.
The iPad Screen is almost square, HD TVs are rectangular so will never be full screen. When watching movies, the movies native aspect ratio will be used rather than the iPads screen aspect ratio so will look full screen if the movie is full screen, but most likely will be seen in wide screen letter box format. with black bars across the top and bottom as that what most movies from iTunes are in, format wise

Can't connect to itunes store after upgrading to ios 5.01
hi there. after having recently upgraded my iphone 4 to ios 5.01, i cannot access the itunes store to update any of my previously installed apps or purchase any new apps. i've already tried doing a soft reset (home button + sleep button) and have also restored my iphone to factory settings to no avail. can anybody help?
thanks.kipfkd01 wrote:
I was able to connect to the iTunes store before the upgrade but after going to iTunes 10 I have not been able to. Whats going on?
Are you running any of Symantec's (Norton) or McAfee's Internet security products or anything similar, or an antivirus/antispyware application? Some such utilities treat an upgrade to iTunes as a new application and can block the application from connecting. So you have to go in and reset the utility to allow iTunes. The same thing can happen if you upgrade the security product (this has particularly been a problem with recent McAfee upgrades).
Check the settings for your utility. If iTunes is still listed, remove and re-enable the exception for iTunes. Consult your utility's documentation for the appropriate procedure. If you have Norton, you can find instructions for that utility on Symantec's web page for iTunes. You may also need to check the built-in Windows firewall as well.
Hope this helps. -
Can't connect to itunes store. Get a message that the keychain is invalid.
Powerbook G4 10.3.9
Whenever I try to buy a song I get the message:
"iTunes could not connect to the iTunes Store. The requested keychain was invalid."
and in smaller print the message is:
"Open Keychain Access and run Keychain First Aid, then try again"
I have run keychain first aid and get the message that everything is okay. I don't know if this problem is connected to the security update I did 2 days ago. The last time I did a security update I had problems getting online thru Airport.
Has anyone else had this problem and knows how to fix it?
If it is connected to the security update, is the update for 10.4? and not 10.3.9?Pages v5 documents do not have an internal index.xml file. When you attempt to open one of these with the older Pages '09, you will get that dialog. Double-click the document icon, or right-click, and open with Pages v5 to access the document contents.

Why can't I connect to Itunes store, after updating mt Ipad to Os 6?
Saw this on another post.
Applecare Senior Advisor Txx Bxxx (I have his contact info in an email he just sent) just confirmed with me that the problem people are having with the App Store not loading is an apple issue with there servers, ITS NOT YOUR IPAD so don't go restoring it! It's not happening to everyone however but they are looking into it, its really hit or miss.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
This works for some users. Not sure why.
Go to Settings>General>Date and Time> Set Automatically>Off. Set the date ahead by about a year. Then see if you can connect to the store.
