Can't connect to mail service

I cannot connect to the mail service, I have tried hard reset and it still does not work!!!

Try a reset, no data loss.  Hold down the home/sleep button together until you see the apple logo and then release, then wait for the ipad to boot back up.
then check if you can view emails.

  • N8 Email - Unable to connect to mail service serve...

I have my Nokia N8 for a good few months. Email stop sync-ing so deleted my 1 and only email account (Hotmail) and now I can not get any email back.
I have played with internet settings, rebooted my phone but still nothing.
    Basically, this is what happens:
    Got to set up email
Some text comes up about what mail can do and you have the option of start of exit
Press start, and it says preparing for set up, then it comes up with Unable to connect to mail service server. try again later.
The next options I have are to enter email and password or cancel.
If I enter email and password it comes up with an option to click on mail for exchange and I have to start entering user name, domain, etc or I can exit.
So, can anyone help me restore the email function. When I got the phone you had an option of hotmail, yahoo, etc etc. And that is what I want back.
Also I should mention, I don't have any options around pushing or pulling email as it never gets that far into setting up email.
I live in the UK, so was wondering if I should just take it into my local carphone warehouse who deal with Nokia support and demand it gets repaired? It's part of what I paid for so they should repair/replace for me?
    Any advice would be good,
    Thanks
    Vicki

For the answer of both how and why please refer to the post by Abi99 earlier this week:

Please click the star below that post to draw attention to the expired Nokia certificate, which Microsoft Mobile Oy must renew to solve the problem! - Also use the false username and false password trick, if it is a first time mail setup on a freshly reset Symbian phone, to avoid any Nokia Messaging clutter, and then input server details manually.
EDIT: The expired certificate was renewed is now valid until 2015-07-10

  • Can't connect to analysis services

    Hi,
After looking through the forum, I haven't seen the problem I encounter.
I am able to connect to the Database Engine, Integration services, Reporting Services but I can't connect to Analysis Services from SQL Server Management Studio although the service is running.
I am using SQL Server 2012.
I have the following error :
Internal error: An unexpected error occurred (file 'pfshcollation.cpp', line 323, function 'PFCollation::Init'). (Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Analysis Services)
    The progam location is:

What can I do to connect?

    Hi Thush,
According to your description, you get the above error when connecting SSAS in SSMS. Right?
In Analysis Services, this error turns out to be a the data provider issue. I suggest you re-install the OLE DB Provider for SQL Server 2012.
On the Installation page, choose New SQL Server stand-alone installation or add features to an existing installation.
On the Installation Type page, choose Perform a new installation of SQL Server 2012.
On the Setup Role page, choose SQL Server Feature Installation.
On the Feature Selection page, click Client Tools Connectivity. This option installs
    Microsoft.AnalysisServices.Xmla.dll
Do not select any other features.
Click Next to finish the wizard, and then click Install to run Setup.

  • IOS 4 : removing the "can't connect to mail server" messages

Ok, since the new Mail in iOS 4 have a "global inbox", everytime i open the app without being connected on the internet, it send me 5 "can't connect to mail server" message. So i have to click "OK" five times before being able to use the app. It does that even when WiFi is set to off.
Am i the only one ? Is there a setting for that ? Do I have to wait for iOS 4.1 ? Does god really exist ?

Your email provider has servers. There are no Thunderbird servers. Thunderbird is email client software that runs on your computer.
Contact your email provider about server issues.

  • Apple: PLEASE FIX "Can't connect to bckgrnd services" issue

This is an appeal to Apple to please fix this "Can't connect to background services" bug/issue/problem that has plagued Compressor 2. We just went through a Pro Apps update and still it does not work. Sure there is the terminal workaround but it is a pain to have to do that every day. Your Compressor development is severely lacking as it has a number of issues which do not seem to be addressed. I am very close to going back to Squeeze. Please fix Compressor 2!

  • CF Can't Connect To Mail Server

I have been running CF 8 since release and generally no
problems. Now, it can't connect to our mail server and there
appears to be no reason. Here's the setup: We have CF 8 Standard on
Win 2003 server. The same box runs SmarterMail 4.3.
When I try to verify connection settings in CF Administrator,
it fails, using all of the same settings that worked 2 hours ago.
I've tried restarting the CF service and that didn't help.
    Any ideas are much appreciated!

    > it fails, using
    > all of the same settings that worked 2 hours ago.
Something has changed in your config.
It might not have been you who changed it, so ask around.
THis sort of thing doesn't just "stop working", without
    intervention of
    some description.
Have you checked your SMTP server is responsive?
Have you given the system a reboot (it is Windows after all,
    so this is
    almost the first troubleshooting step).
Is you mail server set to relay email for the CF server? (NB:
    do NOT set
an OPEN relay. That would be bad).
Have your relay settings, or login creds changed?
Has anyone been fiddling with your firewall or port filters
    or anything?
Have you asked your mail admin what they've been doing?
There's really a lot of things you could investigate and
    report back on, I
    think.

  • I can't get the mail service to stop

    Heya,
I am working on Leopard 10.5.4 server, and having a slight problem with mail. Essentially, I cannot get the mail service to stop. More specifically, I cannot get the SMTP service to stop. When I click on stop service in the Server Admin, SMTP says "Attempting to Stop", then goes right back to running. Problem is that the Stop Service Button never changes to Start Service, so IMAP and POP will not start. I am thinking about migrating my email boxes to a secondary Leopard Server that I have, and completely ripping out the mail piece, reinstalling, and migrating users back.... Unfortunately, I don't know how to migrate the users (I tried using mailbfr but, in the end, the mailboxes don't appear in the new server), and I don't know how to completely rip and reinstall the mail piece. As you can tell, by the rip and reinstall tactics that I want to resort to, I am a recovering Windows guy who is in way over his head.
Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

Okay, the serveradmin stop mail command worked. Unfortunately, I am
unable to authenticate when trying to login as from a client. IMAP

Honestly, I think that my problem at this point is OD and kerberos.
This machine is an OD Replica, but I cannot demote it. The same thing
happens as with mail... I try to make it stand alone, it goes through
the wizard, and then when it is done, goes right back to OD Replica,
and won't turn off... The OD Master doesn't see it as a valid replica
anymore. I also noticed that although kerberos is running on the OD
master, it is not running on this machine.
I know I am in the wrong forum for this, but any ideas?

  • SmartView 11.1.2 Can't Connect to Shared Services

I have posted this thread on the essbase forum, also...
I have installed 11.1.2 on Windows 2008 (64bit) in stand-alone mode. I also have Excel 2007 installed on the same machine. I took all of the default ports when setting up the server instance. I installed SmartView(32bit) on the same machine with no errors. When I try to connect to "Shared Connctions" through the SmartView home window, I keep receiveing an error message: "Connection to Shared Services failed Error Message: 'Cannot connect to provider. The server name could not be resolved.' I have tried replacing the server name with it's physical IP address,; I have tried all of the typical ports; but cannot seem to resolve the problem. My URL reads as follows: "http://testsys:13080/workspace/SmartViewProviders' I have a 11.1.1.3 instance on another server works fine, but the URL is a bit different (http://server:13080/aps/SmartView). I have tested and confirmed that all of the shared services are up and running and can be accessed from either EAS console or a web browser. Any help would be appreciated.

Have you installed and APS (Analytic Provider Server) on your system..??
As I know, to connecting to Essbase using Smartview, we need to install the APS on our system.

  • How can I setup a mail service?

Any answers are appreciated. Links, pictures, diagrams and videos are very much appreciated

You'll need static IP from your ISP.  Attempting this with dynamic DNS is commonly attempted, far more difficult, and you'll generally need to use a relay service — no matter what you do with a dynamic IP connection, other mail servers will interpret your DNS configuration as that of a spam engine, and drop mail from your server, and also sometimes mail sent to your server.
For this and other operations on OS X Server on a NAT'd network, local DNS services are a prerequisite.  After local DNS has been verified with sudo changeip -checkhostname then set up external (public) DNS services (host name and MX record) for your mail server.  To verify that DNS, use the dig commands (see any or all of the links below).
There are other discussions of setting up mail server here in the OS X Server forum, as well — here and here and here are some of the various existing discussions.

  • Can't connect to mail outside of the company

    Hi!
I have a company email adress which i can easily configure in Windows, Android, iPhone, iPad you name it!
Except when i configure it on my mac with the Mail app it only connects to the Mail server when i'm using the company's wireless network (same where the physical server is). When i use my broadband connection i simply can't receive email as the Mail app keeps asking for my password...
I can't connect fine using my iPhone and iPad so i have the right configurations (i double tripple checked!!!).
I can access to the web interface (it's an Exchange server) and the adress for the web interface is the same i have to configure in the Mail app settings.
    I ran out of ideas.
Anyone has a clue what i might be missing?

I believe it's the second guess but, as they have blocked it, I'm not sure how much it matters which.

  • All the sudden can't connect to mail server

This morning I stopped receiving email. Mail says it can't connect and that the connection timed out. I use IMAP with SSL (port 993). I don't know of anything I could have changed on the MacBook to cause this. As well, my iPhone can't connect either (same settings as Mail). It gave a connection error once and since then doesn't give errors but never pulls in new mail. I can ping the mail server and telnet in via port 993. I'm not sure what else to look at. Mail settings haven't changed that I can see. Hosting provider says there aren't any issues on their end. Any suggestions?

Do you have Mail properly configured for their servers? I know you said you use SSL, but does the ISP use it, and if they do are you using their default port? Verify your server setup by opening Mail preferences, select Accounts, click on Account Information tab. From the server drop down menu select Edit. Check that your server is correctly configured and the right security option selected. If you have multiple server entires delete all but the one you use for your mail account.
You can also try removing the /Home/Library/Preferences/com.apple.mail.plist file in case it's become corrupted.
It also can't hurt to do the following:
Repairing the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Installer menu (Utilities menu for Tiger and Leopard.) After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer. Now restart normally.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior (4.0 for Tiger, and 4.1 for Leopard) and/or TechTool Pro (4.6.1 for Leopard) to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
Download and install the freeware AppleJack 1.5 - VersionTracker or MacUpdate - and carefully read its instructions. Then run its full suite of maintenance and repair routines.

    Thank's for the help.

Nevermind. It was a user name conflit. We have 3 possible ways to log on (lastname, firstname) (firstname lastname) (emailaddress). The Oracle Calendar Client would take all three, but the Connector would only accept the first 2.
    Hope this helps someone else.

  • Can't connect to mail server - DNS Server settings?

    Hello:
Let me preface this question by saying that computer networking is not my strong suit.
Last week I moved our web hosting from our ISP to Lunarpages; our domain is marshall-arts.net. I set up some POP email accounts on our new mail servers and was able to successfully send and receive email wirelessly using our G4 ibook. However, none of our networked desktop systems could connect to our new mail server, although they could connect to our ISP's mail server; they also have no problem connecting to the web. The mail server and user names were identical between the desktop systems and the ibook. But upon closer examination of the TCP/IP settings of the ibook I found that the ibook had 209.253.113.10 entered into the DNS Servers (optional) field. That field was blank in the desktop systems. Once I entered that address into the DNS Servers field on the desktop systems they had no problem connecting to our Lunarpages mail servers.
Here's our setup, as best as I can describe it:
We have an AirPort Extreme connected to our DSL router. It's connected via ethernet, configured manually with a static IP, router and DNS server addresses provided by our ISP. It's set to distribute IP addresses with the AirPort client computers sharing a single IP address using DHCP and NAT (10.0.1.1. addressing). It's connected via ethernet to a Linksys gigabit ethernet switch to which we have connected three desktop Macs running OS 10.3.x and 10.4.x.
The TCP/IP of the three desktop systems and the ibook are configured Using DHCP.
As I wrote above, only the ibook had an address entered into the DNS Servers field, 209.253.113.10. This doesn't correspond to anything our ISP provided (those addresses are entered in the AirPort Extreme.) I have no idea where it came from.
    So I have two questions:
Would that address have been generated automatically while setting up the AirPort connection on the ibook?
Why would that supposedly optional DNS Server address be required for me to connect to our new mail servers (but not our old ISP mail servers)?
    Thank you.

  • Can't connect to windows services

    Hello,
I am having trouble getting Windows Update to turn on and I can't figure out what to do. I tried manually turning it on and nothing helps. I also noticed that Network Access Protection Agent Service, Windows Defender (error 0x800106ba),
nor Windows online help will turn on either. Every time I try to turn on any of these services I am given an error message or told to turn off my computer and turn it back on. I have tried downloading so many things to help the problem, but nothing works and
I don't know what else to do. I have tried to check my internet connection, but it only confirms that I am online. I also tried doing numerous diagnostics/ troubleshooting checks and they can't find the problem either. I am using a Windows 7 with a Windows
Server 2008 R2 and ideas on what my problem is would really be helpful.

    Hi,
Firstly, for the Windows Defender error, you can access to the link below to downlaod fixit tool to fix the problem for test:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/931849
For your Windows update problem, could you please provide a screenshot for this error message, it would be better to help use understand the problem clearly.
According to your description about the error message, it seems like network problem. Did you enable any proxy in your current system, if that it is, please try to disable it temporarily for test. If not, you can try to use the command below to refresh IP
address, Winsock for test to fix the problem:
Reset TCP/IP stack to installation defaults, type: netsh int ip reset reset.log
Reset WINSOCK entries to installation defaults, type: netsh winsock reset catalog
    Reboot the machine.
