Can't connect to Netflix at home no matter what I try

I have an ipad 3rd gen wifi only that ever since updating to iOS6 has not been able to get onto netflix at home. I hoped updates would fix it, but it hasn't. I have looked up every suggestions on how to fix this and tried them all. I have reset the modem, changed the DNS, messed with the date, made sure I accept the cookies, restored to facotry settings and many, many other things. If it is anywhere in the first 10 pages of a google search, I have tried it. Nothing fixes it. It always says that it can't connect.
What makes it even worse is that the Netflix app works on every other network I try, including the one at school where Netflix is blocked (or at least it is on the computers and laptops). It's only my home network where it won't connect. It has to be my home network, but I have no idea where to look to fix it and can't find any help online except to unplug the modem for five minutes (which did nothing). Can anyone give me an idea where and what to look for in my modum and/or router settings that might be causing this?
All of my other apps can connect to the internet just fine. Netflix is the only one with a problem. Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

Earthlink.
And I know it is my home network. The problem is my provider has said they see nothing wrong with the connection (and my DVD player can connect just fine) and they say to contact netflix. Netflix says to contact them. I think at this point I just have to hunt the problem down myself. My problem is I have no idea where to look? Is there something specific I should look for/at when it comes to streaming on an ipad? If that is set wrong, could something be making it impossible to get on streaming? That's the information I am looking for. I just want to know where to start messing with the network to fix this. Does anyone know this?

  • Can't get rid of prohibitory icon no matter what I try

Every time I try to start up, no matter what technique I use -- 10.3 System disk startup, Command S, x, the darned thing keeps giving me the prohibitory icon. All peripherals are removed.
It was working fine a few hours ago. What appeared to preceed it was having a problem with Word 2004, which kept freezing on me. I uninstalled and re-installed several times without getting it to work.
What the heck can I try now?

When you get through to the final screen:

  • I can't connect to wifi at home on business hub ? So cannot update my iPhone 5  Help!

I can't connect to wifi at home on business hub ? So cannot update my iPhone 5  Help!

wifi is wifi, and business hub means very little.. this is area for time capsule discussion.. but the standard measures apply.
    1. Set wireless name (SSID) to a name that is short, no spaces and pure alphanumeric. Eg your Business Hub call wireless BH. There is no need for names longer than that.
    2. Set wireless channel for 2.4ghz to 11 or 6 or 1. Please test in that order. In Eurozone you can add 13 or use it instead of 11. They are the only 3 non-overlapping channels.
    3. Use no security to test.. of course this is unsafe long term.. so this is to test for a few minutes only.
The only security that should be used with N wireless is WPA2 TKIP-AES .. it can be named several different things ie in Apple routers it is WPA2 personal. Use a passkey of 10-20 characters.. more if you are paranoid, mix of upper and lower case + numerics.. so pure alphanumeric.
    4. If it fails set the mode to G wireless. It is more consistent standard.
If it still fails buy an Apple router and use that as WAP.

I've been having this problem for weeks and have found no solution to it. There are lots of other people with this issue too if you look back on the boards. I even e-mailed AND called Apple and have had no luck. I tried all the suggestions they gave me and all the ones I found on here- nothing worked. I even uninstalled and re-installed iTunes (boy was that a pain!) and no difference.
The weird part is that I have an old laptop that works and if I buy music with the laptop I can download it with my regular computer buy buying does not work on my regular computer. That tells me it's not a connection issue. I can't get to my account either.
I can't figure out why an issue that has kept so many people from purchasing a product has been ignored!

I can´t set the control panel iCloud. PC writes this: you can not connect because the server error occurred. What´s matters?

    Whenever I log into icloud.com
Using what version of which browser?
iCloud.com requires Safari 6 or later, Firefox 22 or later, or Google Chrome 28 or later. Have you tried all of those?
If you have, have you tried clearing your browser cache and cookies?
For the first tine since 1989 I'm thinking about buying a PC.
You'd have exactly the same problems on an 8 year old PC too. It's a bit unreasonable to expect such an old Mac to continue to be compatible as software is constantly updated.
Saying that, I'm still able to access iCloud.com successfully in Safari v5.0.6 on a PowerPC Mac running Mac OS X 10.5.8, so the problem you're having is likely to be a browser issue, not something inherently wrong with the computer.
Since all this crap started, Mail won't download my Mac.com or me.com email.
The iCloud.com website is totally unconnected to Mail's ability to download email via IMAP. Have you checked the mail server settings are correctly setup and up-to-date?

If the place of purchase does not have a 'Lemon' policy (three replacements = refund or complete exchange), sadly you are out of luck.
And Apple themselves do not have any power over what policy a reseller uses. You can call Apple Care and have them replace it, but the odds are you would probably get a standard replacement again like has previously happened. I'm pretty sure Apple holds their own sort of 'Lemon' polocy where if it's been replaced three times through them they'll swap it out for a brand new phone. Not 100% sure though, best bet is too call them again.
And it ***** getting a response like that from their support personel, but hey, they can't all be that bad can they? I'm sure if you plead your case they'll try and help out. I've dealt with them in the past and had one or two people that rubbed me the wrong way, but most of them have been a great help and kept me a happy customer, haha.

  • Excel (Office 2010 64 bit) will not connect to Oracle DB not matter what I try

    Hello Everyone,
I started a new role that requires me to interact with an Oracle DB using Excel.  Currently I have both the 32 bit and 64 bit Oracle clients installed on my Windows 7 PC.
Firstly I can TNSPing the database I need to connect to, I can also connect using SQLPlus to the desired database, I can even connect using TOAD.
No matter what I try I cannot connect using Excel VBA (Office 2010 64 bit).
The process below used to work for me in a different location, now the objDatabase always is returned "Empty"
    Set objSession = CreateObject("OracleInProcServer.XOraSession")
    Set objDataBase = objSession.OpenDatabase("database server", "user name/passsword", 0&)
I am not even able to set up a simple ODBC connection working.  I get a error "ORA-12557: TNS:protocol adapter not loadable."
When using a ADODB connection I get this error. Run time error '-2147467259 (80004005)':
[Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Data source name not found and default driver specified.
I have place the TNSNames file in both Oracle Home's
I have even reinstalled Office 2010.

    Hi,
The 12577 error (12557: TNS:protocol adapter not loadable) is related to Windows Environment or Oracle Home PATH because sqlplus command works smoothly when I execute it inside ORACLE_HOME\bin.
There are two solutions to this issue:
    1. Put the Oracle DB Home in front of the other paths in the PATH environment variable.
    2. Remove ORACLE_HOME From environment Variable and re-boot PC

iTunes Store for Windows. Everytime I try an access the iTunes Store it takes really long to connect and then it says iTunes store cannot be access. I think I am up to date with iTunes Verison, I Have 11.0.2.26 but no matter what I try it does not connect. HELP Please???

With those symptoms, I'd try the following document:

  • My iMac has a Kernel Panic screen come up on start up and I can't get past it no matter what I try. Any help to fix this would be greatly appreciated.

My mac has a "Kernel Panic" screen come up on start up. No matter what I try I can't get past this to fix it. Any hints out there? Do I have to completely wipe my drive and re-install to fix this? I can't even back up my files before doing this as like I say I can't get past the Kernel Panic message.

There are some fairly informative articles about kernel panics...
    •OS X: About kernel panics:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3742?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US
Note the toggle triangles to get more info in the above article, some are
important steps, with alternative methods of accessing or performing a
suggested activity and may vary with the OS X version in use.
    •Resolving Kernel Panics:
    http://www.thexlab.com/faqs/kernelpanics.html
•Technical Note: TN2063: Understanding and Debugging Kernel Panics:
    https://developer.apple.com/library/mac/technotes/tn2063/_index.html
The above TN covers several technical aspects to identify & troubleshoot.
Some are above the average user needs, but still can be rather helpful.
Hopefully you can get past the kernel panic screen, there are several
ways to attempt to do that, however if the issue is hardware, a reinstall
of the OS X may not cure the underlying cause of the symptom.
    Good luck & happy computing!
