Can't Connect to OLAP Catalog
I am trying to use BIBEANS in JDeveloper when i try to test the connection
in BI Designer i get the following error.
Although the database connection succeeded, metadata in the OLAP Catalog is not
valid and could not be retrieved. In order to create OLAP queries against the
database, you must ensure that the OLAP Catalog metadata is valid.
OS: windows XP

same problem when i try to connect in JDeveloper
Dimensions and Cubes are valid in OEM
(there are 4 Cubes and 9 Dimensions for BIBDEMO)
During the installation of the BIBDEMO schema this error occured:
ORA-6550: line1, column 7:
PLS-00201: identifier 'CWM2_OLAP_METADATA_REFRESH.MR_REFRESH' must be declared
ORA-6550: line1, column 7:

could this be the reason for my problems?
what is this statement for?
how can i make it work correctly?

AnneThings to check -
1) Does the user you specified in the connection have the role OLAP_USER
2) Does the user you specified in the connection have access to an OLAP schema (analytic workspace or CWM2 ROLAP schema)
3) Have you installed the correct JDBC files from your database instance into the BI Beans JDBC directory

Reg Target connection failed from catalog
Hi,
i am configuring RMAN in my PROD.
I have seperate catalog database.
I have added the TNS Entry of both in PROD and CATALOG Server.
TNSPING from both server is working.
I have created the password file in PROD.
When i issue the command
rman catalog rman/rman target sys/sys@PROD it gives below error.
RMAN-04005: error from target database:
ORA-01017: invalid username/password; logon denied
But when i give
sqlplus sys/sys@PROD
it is getting connected.
One more thing already a test database is registered in the catalog as target.
Is there any Restriction that only one target can be registered in catalog.
If so how to deregister the existing target database.
Kindly help in this regard.

Whether if i register the database using the second scenario then if try to connect using first ,will it work?you can connect with any database from rman, but why? no need, you can directly connect with recovery catalog from target.
you can get the backup information only from registered recovery catalog database.
IF i deregister the existing target database say TEST will the backup list of TEST will be removed automatically.yes, all information from recovery catalog is removed.
why you get confusion, register a database with recovery catalog is very simple
1. create a recovery catalog user and grant recovery catalog owner role to user.
2. connect the target database with the recovery catalog database
3. register the database with the recovery catalog database.
4. connect as recovery catalog datbase user and verify it using rc_database recovery catalog view.

OLAP Spreadsheet add-in problem. Can't connect to database

What are the requirement for Excel addin to connect to OLAP database?
We have Oracle 9i with patch 9.2.6 installed and OLAP option enabled. We use AWM 9.2.1.4
We have created a schema, and AW for it. We enabled analytical workspace for use with OLAP API, aggregated and refreshhed cube data.
What should we do next?
When we are trying to connect to this database we receiving error which states that SID is incorrect or server is not functioning. If we specify wrong IP address or port we receive different error message.Oracle not support 9.2 version for this product.

You try to change jdbc drivers in spreadsheet home to 9.2 jdbc drivers. But after this you'll have a problem with russian language. Only changing Locale to US can help. -
No measures found in the OLAP catalog for user CS_OLAP
Working in XP, with Oracle Database 10g 10.2.0.1.0, AWM 10.2.0.1A, JDeveloper installed from the 10.1.2.0.2 Developer Suite, BI Samples are 10.1.2.0.0)
I'm receiving this error when connecting to the CS_OLAP schema through JDeveloper:
"Warning: No measures were found in the OLAP catalog for user CS_OLAP; therefore, you will not be able to create OLAP queries with this connection."

I've installed the sample databases (oe, pm, sh, etc..) from the Companion CD. The SH schema (required for installation of CS_OLAP) is present.
I've executed install.bat from the ...\common_schema directory. It creates the CS_OLAP tablespace and user. There are no errors in the log file. It appears to be building the datafile. When it finishes, Enterprise Manager shows the CS_OLAP tablespace using 87% of its 325MB allocation.
In Enterprise Manager, there are a total of three tables listed for the CS_OLAP schema. They are: AW$AWDEBUG, AW$SHAW, and AW$UTILS. There are no "regular" tables listed, just these three Analytic Workspaces. I open an OLAP Worksheet in AWM, and I can execute AW ATTACH CS_OLAP.SHAW FIRST RO, and see all of the objects in the AW. They are populated with dimension values and data. It's a full blown AW.
I then installed the BI Beans sample applications. Again, no problems during installation.
I opened JDeveloper, drilled on the BIBEANS sample workspace, opened the CATALOG project, and checked the connection settings for the catalogBIDesigner. The TEST of the connection was successful, but I received that warning message. The 'Presentation 1' crosstab returns no data, only the little default table. Basically, the system can't see any data in the CS_OLAP schema.
So, an AW has been created for CS_OLAP, it's populated with dimensions and data, but JDeveloper doesn't see the contents.Nevermind.
The answer is found in the version of the BI Samples zip file.
BI_10_1_2_1_0_samples.zip works just fine.
BI_10_1_2_0_0_samples.zip didn't. -
BIB-14657 error when connecting to BIBeans catalog from JDev10g/bibeans10g
when I try to connect to the BI Catalog, this is what I get:

oracle.dss.persistence.persistencemanager.common.PersistenceManagerRuntimeException: BIB-14122: The specified StorageManager could not be created.
oracle.dss.bicontext.BICannotProceedException: BIB-14657 An incompatible version of the BI Beans Catalog schema detected. PLSQL Version is null and Java Version is 3.2.2.0.24.2.

We are trying tot connect our Analytical Workspace with the new Discoverer. We want to use the OLAP functionallity of Disco. In production we already use OLAP Web Agent and OLAP_TABLE functions tot connect our AW, but that is whitout the use of the catalog.

I am experiencing a problem when creating connections to the OLAP catalog. I can create a new workspace and project but when I add the BI Designer and use the dialogue box to create a new connection, the connection hangs when I test it!! Last viewable message is...

2 days ago I created a number of connections and have been creating applications, but at the moment all my connections hang when trying to read the OLAP catalog. I know this because the existing connections work fine. In JDeveloper in the system navigator I can expand the existing connections and look at the schema within, but when a BI Bean e.g. the crosstab attempts to load it hangs. If I look in OEM I can see the correct connection to the database, and the connection is attempting to execute a packge called
GenMetadataProviderInterface.GetMetadatXML
What things can I check?
I have cleaned up and refreshed my OLAP catalog
All the Cubes in OEM are valid.
Now that there is no OLAP Service Instance Manager (with 9.2 this all in the database kernel) is there anyt[i]Long postings are being truncated to ~1 kB at this time.Thanks for that Keith... however the same error occurs. The process hangs, see the output below...

Active Directory Services Can't Connect to Domain
I removed Active Directory services form a server running 2012. I then went to reinstall and reconfigure it, but I keep running into issues. When I launch active directory admin center it gives me an error that it can't connect to any domain, and I can't
make any changes. The local server has already been promoted to the domain controller. Here is the output from dcdiag:

I've been trying to debug errors one at a time, but I'm having a hard time finding any information that pertains to this issue as a whole. Anything you can tell me about this would be great, thank you for reading.It was the only server in the network, the only dc in the old forest. When I re-installed ad ds I gave the new forest different name, but I guess the old settings are still in the system somewhere conflicting with the new setup? Is there a way to
purge the old setup entirely and start over with ad ds, or am I going to have to re-install the whole OS? Thanks again for the help.
Honestly, the best way to handle this is to rebuild the server. There are many things that are "left behind" when you remove the Domain / Forest from a Domain Controller. In fact many articles will say after using ADMT (active directory migration
tool) you should decommission the original Domain Controller (aka reinstall the OS).
While you could spend more time trying to get that domain controller working, it absolutely is going to be 1) More reliable 2) faster to reinstall the OS on the old domain controller. If you are still leveraging storage, or services on that domain controller,
you will want to back them up, or have a transition plan before reinstalling everything on the server. I have a feeling if you choose to keep troubleshooting this, you will run into more issues down the road.

We are thinking to connect External Supplier catalog to our SRM 7.0 system ( Like Supplier Corporate Express..etc).
I am aware that supplier Catalog need OCI compliance .

1. Is any special hardware/server..infrasructure is requiered for same ?
2. Approx how much days requiered to deploy Catalog to one Supplier/Broker ?
3. Is these Ext catalogs can be connected to ECC 6.04 syetm as well ?
4. If we select some Item from catalog and added in SRM Shopping Cart, which Material Code will be there along with Vendor Mat No or it will be Free text Shopping Cart ?

If I use same Catalog credientials which I used in SRM, system bringing Material decription back in Plant Maintaince Order. ..in ECC ( in ECC..there is mapping done in Convert HTML fields to SAP fields...etc but no other confiuration done in SRM. other than at Ext Web Service..
Can anyone suggest, what is mssing here..... Is Catalg Provider....need to do something for SRM ( I just want to popluate the Mat decription for demo purpose....)

After installing the RDBMS 9.2.0.2/3 patch set, did you run catpatch.sql and utlrp.sql detailed in the readme? INVALID OLAP Catalog is usually a result of not running these Post Install scripts.

Basically, you should do the following:

Appears to happen when there is existing data in the OLAP Catalogs prior to applying the 9.2.0.2 patch set.
Another cause is that the Oracle Listener is not up and running when catpatch.sql was ran.
Fix
~~~~
1. Run the OLAP validate procedure:
a. startup the Oracle Listener
b. connect to SQL*Plus as OLAPSYS and execute:
SQL> execute olapsys.cwm2_olap_installer.Validate_CWM2_Install;
SQL> execute cwm2_olap_metadata_refresh.mr_refresh;
c. verify if OLAP Catalog is VALID.
SQL> select comp_name, version, status from dba_registry;
2. If OLAP Catalog is still INVALID, in OEM compile the INVALID package bodies:
a. Start OEM
b. Connect to the database as OLAPSYS
c. Drill down on Schema -> OLAPSYS -> Source Types
d. Highlight Packages Bodies
e. In the right frame you will see which ones are valid / invalid
f. Right click on any that are invalid and select compile
g. verify that the packages are valid by highlighting Packages and checking the status
h. if any Packages are invalid repeat the same steps to compile. -
AWM 10g / Problems creating OLAP-Catalog of OEO-Database
Hi all,
I was creating a simple OEO-Database with one Time-Dimension with Express Administrator and exported it to an eif-File. Then I did the stuff Mark Rittman described in his article "Migrating Express Server Databases to 10g..". After this I started the Program CREATE_DB_STDFORM('aw_123'). Great! No errormessage and OLAP-Catalog Metadata was accessible over Excel-Addin or Disco Drake.
Then I tried the same with an existing OEO-Database an then I got folling errormessages at the end of Program CREATE_DB_STDFORM('aw_bsp01') and no OLAP-Catalog Metadata was created:
Analytic workspace AW_BSP01 successfully converted to >standard form.
Conversion done in 0 minutes and 3 seconds.

I need to migrate my Olap Catalog (i.e. cubes, measures etc) from one server to another. How do I do this, as I have already tried the standard Export, but it doesn't seem to export the cubes etc?

Currently there is no way to export the metadata contained in the OLAPSYS account from one environment to another. The Server team are working on an export/import procedure that may be part of the next patchset. The only solution I am afraid is to recreate the metadata using OEM or if you have OWB you can reverse engineer the schema into OWB and generate the OLAP metadata information using the OWB Bridge.

Can't connect to Application server
Hello.
i have installed sccm 2012 r2 with Application catalog web service and website roles. Status of all roles is "Ok".
But when i try to open http://ap-server/cmapplicationcatalog/, i get error "Can't connect to Application server"
What is the problem? Thanks.If you have IPV6 enabled on SCCM server then disable it.
