Can't connect to Ovi Suite 2.2.0.245

I've got a problem.
And that is that Ovi Suite can't seem to recognize my X3-00.
I can access the phone via "My Computer => Portable Devices => Nokia(the phone's name)", which means that it can''t be the USB-cable
Does anyone know a solution for this?

I had the same problem with my E75, with the earlier OVI 2.2.0.242, that the synchronizing only work for som of the components.I saw not my own phone icon only a normal one. Then upgrade to 2.2.0.245 and follow the process when driver for the cabel was installed, what I saw was in the driver cable install windows all the different things was installed then OVI was synchronizing and found everything.
My opinion is that You have to try to get the cable driver to be installed in the right way
(PC has windows vista, the driver installing could also be on the Vista side, my XP work ok without problem.

  • N8 wont connect to Ovi Suite..

    Hi,
I'm facing a connectivity issue with ovi suite on my company laptop (windows XP). When i connect the cable, the phone says "connected via ovi suite", and the tray pop up bubble says N8 connected via Ovi Suite, but when I go to the Ovi suite home screen, the bottom of the page shows a N8 icon, and says "Setting up"... and that's ALL!!! That goes on indefinitely, and no sign of any syncing happens... I finally have to connect to the N8 via my PC suite version 7.1.40.1, which works perfectly.
Meanwhile, Ovi suite works fine with my N8 on my personal laptop (Windows 7).
Anyone can help me out with this? Its pretty frustrating. I've tried repairing the Ovi suite installation, but it doesn't seem to have made any difference.
    Thanks..

I changed my phone from an E7 that worked well with PC suite to a N8 that would not work at all until, read below.
How i got my N8 to work with PC Suite 7.1.51.0
I found this by accident and it works. When I connect by USB I taped the top left of screen when the USB connect pops up. Be quick it only displays for about 1 second.
This brings up a USB connections list of 4 different connections.
    Ovi suite
    Mass storage
    Media transfer
    Conn pc to net
I tried all connections and fu#k me when I Connected by Media Transfer PC suit connected.
    It was in non-compatible mode.
A few windows XP explorer popped up and PC warnings. PC suit stated the connected device is not supported.
I ignored all of this as PC suite displayed N8 in the phone connected.
It was connected to N8 in non-compatible mode.
Every thing worked the only problem was the calendar accepted entries only no alarms or type of display.
When I disconnected the phone and went into the calendar all entries were all there.
I had to change the type and add alarms.
When I checked my phone book all entries had been saved.
I reconnected again and did it again to make sure it was not a fluke so now I have deleted Ovi Suite and use PC Suite 7.1.51.0 It works for me.
    Hope this might help others.

  • Every time my phone connects to ovi suite via blue...

I have a 5800 XpressMusic with software version 51.2.007. I am using Ovi suite version 3.1.1.90 on windows 7. every time my phone connects to ovi suite and automatically syncs, 2 "bluetooth messages" are recieved (just like when I send a picture to the phone via bluetooth).when I attempt to open the message, an error message shows up on the phone that says "Messaging: feature not supported".
This seems to happen just after contacts are synched, and began happening with the latest update to Ovi Suite.
I would prefer to not have to delete these messages constantly.

  • BUG REPORT: Ovi suite 2.2.0.245 destroys data when...

After synching my Outlook 2010 x64 calender items to my mobile (Nokia 6300) with Nokia Ovi suite 2.2.0.245, the detail info (notes) on my appointments are gone in outlook.
Really sucks, because all connection details of web meetings and so on, are lost.
Secondly, Nokia Ovi suite has no GUI for the calendar like PCSuite did, to see the calendar details.
You can sync calendar items, but there is no way to manage them like the contacts/photo's...
AND, the sync statistics do not tell what exactly had been updated.
Just the object count of updates... nothing more.
    Any solution to this?

    Hey,
Following r my personal opinions, ppl may hav mixed feelingz about that ...
Nokia PC suite's stability currently is high bcoz, its been there for so many years( at least i heard ppl who'r using it from 6.85.14.1 and now its something 7.1.x.x),  it has got so many updates and its now very stable after so many years, Nokia Ovi Suite is now in developing stage when compared to pc suite.  By saying so i m not trying 2 defend Nokia OVi suite and letting pc suite dwn, not at all....I m trying to b neutral.
As u said, PC Sync report in pc suite will inform the complete modifications done after sync, at this point i would like 2 stress 1 thing, when Nokia Ovi Suite launched intially, it was not having any sync report, but now at least it showing some details(Not as you xpct as that of PC Suite)
So like u, even Nokia Ovi Suite users like 2 see changes in sync report in upcoming releases of Nokia Ovi Suite versions.
    Hope u agree

  • Ovi Suite 2.2.0.245 crash w Outlook 2003 and Vista...

I newly installed the latest Ovi Suite 2.2.0.245 and it crashes when synchronisation with Outlook 2003 is initiated. Syncing the messages works. OS is Vista 32-bit. I could send a dump-file to the Nokia support, if desired.

    Hi jol888,
Thank you for your valuable post.
Please provide us with the following information so that we can analyze this issue further.
SYSTEM INFORMATION ( Help-About Ovi Suite-System Information copy and paste here)
    Device Info ( *#0000#)
    Debug Logs.
The logging needs to be enabled first by editing the file debug_conf.txt with a text editor. The line FILELOG=FALSE must to be changed to FILELOG=TRUE. The file is located where Nokia Ovi Suite was installed (C:\Program Files\Nokia\Nokia Ovi Suite). If its not there, then i have attached the file in this post. Try to reproduce the issue.
The logs (debug_log.txt and DalMeasurementFile2.log) will be written to the user's %TEMP% folder
In WinXP the folder is C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Local Settings\Temp
    In Vista/Windows 7 the folder is C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\Temp
    Crash dump:
    In XP:
On application crash, you'll see the dialog asking whether you want to Debug or Close. Don't do either. Closing the dialog destroys the dump file before you have a chance to copy it.
    - Click the "For more information about this error, click here" link in the crash dialog, and copy the "Error signature" contents. The relevant content can be selected with mouse, and copied. Paste the text to the report.
    - Find the minidump file (usually C:\Documents and Settings\your_username\Local Settings\Temp\???.dmp). If there are multiple .dmp files, check the modification time the find the one that was created at the same time the application crashed.
    - Start Task Manager and end process "dwwin.exe". The dump file is locked by this process.
    - The dump file can now be copied and attached.
    In Vista and Windows 7:
    - Expand the "View problem details" in the crash dialog and copy the contents
    - Open Task manager and find NokiaOviSuite.exe from the Processes list
    - Right click over NokiaOviSuite.exe and select Create Dump File.
    - The dump file can now be copied and attached.
For Large files (more than 10MB) you can upload them on Files on Ovi
    1. Log into Ovi.com
    2. Click on files
    3. Type in your username and password
For a user who has not set up files on ovi on his computer, it will give an option to download the file connector.
    4. Click Download and install the file connector.
    5. Then you will find the Sign in to Ovi Files icon in the desktop.
    6. Close the browser and then click on Sign in to Ovi Files icon from desktop.
    7. It will connect to ovi.com again. Login with username and password.
    8. Left pane shows the directory like the windows explorer.
    9. Anytime file status will show the respective file/folder
    10. Select the file which you want to send and then right click the file and select the option send.
    11. Type the email address [email protected]
    12. Select the expiration date and then add comments if any.
    13. Then select the option to store in anytime file.
The email recipient will receive an email with a link to download the file.
Looking forward to hear from at the earliest.

  • OVI Suite 2.2.0.245 and Thunderbird 3.1 sync

    Hi to all,
I have been using OVI Suite 2.2.0.241 with TB 3 previously and with some ups and downs the sync process was acceptable.
Unfortunately the world goes on, so I upgraded to Thunderbird 3.1 and the Sync extension wasn't working anymore. I decided to take the risk and force the extension's compatibility and it started working again.
Bad luck again, Nokia came out with OVI Suite 2.2.0.245, so I decided to uninstall the previous version to install the latest... To discover that Thunderbird is not recognized anymore by OVI Suite!
I have tried several times to reinstall or repair OVI, but with no result: the only client listed in the options is Outlook Express, which isn't even installed on my PC!!
Anyone experiencing the same problem or -even better- anyone got around this problem?
BTW, this doesn't seem to affect those who upgraded both TB and OVI without uninstalling.
    Cheers,
    Alex

    Hi,
Looks like we've found a workaround in that discussion.
    Good luck

I am unable to connect my nokia n85 through usb for Ovi suite and also the Nokia Download program. Whenever i connect the cable, it tells me
"your device is in file transfer connection mode and cannot be used with NOkia Ovi Suite. Quit file tranfer mode from the device if you want to use the device with Nokia Ovi Suite"
The problem is i have no idea how to do this, and whenever i connect my usb cable my phone asks me which type of transfer method and i always select pc suite, so it shouldnt give me this error.

plese help me for fixing this issue: Mine is nokia n85 smart phone. • C7 Connection to OVI suite fail

Still having problems connecting C7 to Ovi Suite. No way to update software. None of sollutions on support discussions helped. After plugging in USB cable Suite fails to recognise C7 device. After plugging USB cable, PC registers C7 under device manager. Suite launches but fail to recognise C7. Keeps on asking to connect phone. Windows 7, 64 bit. Suite ver.: 3.4.41. Phone software 022.014.269.06

    @ 575leon,
Could you please submit an error report first of all. Then if you have not tried yet, you could download the beta version of Nokia Suite 3.4.48. Could you also please link to the thread(s) in which you have received troubleshooting, so we know what you have already tried.
    Hope the beta works.

  • BAM can't connect so SOA Suite 10g

    Hi,
I'm trying to use BAM 11g TP4 out of my existing BPEL project, which is deployed on an oc4j (SOA Suite 10g). Unfortunalety I have to use JDeveloper 10g, so there's no way to get BAM Connection, which forced me to usa a JMS Adapter.
The problem is, BAM can't connect to the SOA Suite. I added an Enterprise Message Sources with the following properties.

    JMS Password (Optional):

    Message Element Name: Pre
    Column Value
    Element Tag

Testing the connection results in the following error:
Test nicht erfolgreich - BAM-00553: Start der Ressource für Ziel "jms/demoQueue" war nicht erfolgreich. (means: test not successful, unable to start "jms/demoQueue")
Do I have to make any further configurations?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
may be you have to use ODI to read JMSQ and to put data to BAM11gTP4 because it does not work with SOA10g. Alternative you can use WebServces to publish BAM11g Dataobjects.

  • 3109 can't connect to PC Suite

I am on my third 3109 and have always used PC Suite, no problems with the others.  The latest one I have named the same (bluetooth) as before and set to visible.  I have connected it and paired to my laptop, as I always do.  Then when I search for devices in PC Suite - I see 2 phones called silvercue.  One says it needs to be connected, but is greyed out and the other says it needs to be connected and authorised and is greyed out.
I have restarted the phone and PC Suite - always the same.  I can't connect, when the phone is, or is not connected to the laptop.
What is wrong?  This is the same process I have always used with identical handsets and always used the same phone name with no issues.
    Thanks in advance.
PS - I did search, but could see the answer.

    Hi,
I have some problems with the connection but in this moment, I am working "well".
First: Please use the Driver included in the CD with the Original Cable. Not use the driver downloaded from the site.
Second: When you connect the cable in the phone, you will received a error message, ignore it, wait near one minut and you see a message "Nokia 6103 is connected" in your PC
Third: To disconnect the phone, first go to "Admin Conecctions" in the Nokia PC Suite and unheck "Serial Cable (CA-42)", when you received a message of desconnectio, you can unplug the cable from the phone.
    Bye.

Since 4 weeks I attempt to connect my new purchased mobile with ovi suite. I tried every version to connect but without success of chance to get in to ovi suite.  I have Vista SP2 and used last release  ovi suite 3.0.0.290
Each time of several installations and new set up of my PC-system I get the message from ovi suite: No device connected.
Also I used the correct USB-cable 101 and cable driver which has been installed on my PC during installation of ovi suite.  I set up my C5-00 device for connection USB-PC-Suite.
Does every body have a advise what is to do. Never I had such huge problems with a mobile software. I suppose finally there is a software problem within of ovi suit data.
Would highly appreciate to get advises from Nokia support or other members.
