Can't Connect to Router Manager

I want to review the Router Statistics but can't get connected.
I have typed in the address,
http://192.168.1.1/
Also tried via the Router Icon &
http://voyager220v.home/
but get message "Can't Connect to Router"
All other web sites are easy to get into.
Any idea of why this problem is occurring?
Solved!
Go to Solution.

Have you tried rebooting the Voyager or resetting it to default by pressing the recessed reset button.
Are all the lights on at the front, and the correct brightness?
Failure of the Voyager 220V power supply was fairly common, but any 12V regulated power unit will work, if it has failed.
The Voyager range of modems were some of the best, I still have quite a few as standby routers and extra wireless points.

  • EA6500 can't connect to Router after Time Machine

Just got an EA6500 - updated to the latest available firmware.
I've attached 2 x WD NAS and 1 x WD via USB to the unit.
Everytime AFTER I finished running Time Machine on the MacBookPro (writing to one of the WD NAS), I can no longer login to the router neither from the local IP address nor the cisco cloud connect. The error message that I get (loosely phrased) is: can't connect to Router. Please ensure the router is connected to the internet.
At this point, all the devices connected to the router (both wired and wireless) still can access the Internet perfectly. Only the router console is no longer reachable.
Anyone else are having the issue?
Any ideas on how to resolve it?

Contacted Cisco support and the person advised me to do a factory reset (eventhough the router is brand new with no customization!!). Regardless, it now works properly. Cisco Cloud Connect still works before, during and after a Time Machine session.

I can't connect my router (WRT54GL) to my new cable modem (Motorola Surfboard SB6120).
    Some info:
    1)  Cable modem works perfectly when connected directly to computer ethernet port
    2)  ISP is Optimum Online
    3)  Using Automatic DHCP setting on router
    4)  Using MAC cloning on router
    5)  I can access the router's admin screen from the PC
    6)  I can connect to the router wirelessly, but no internet access
    7)  I've tried powering down everything multiple times, still no internet access
    8)  I upgraded the router firmware to 4.30.14
    9)  The "link" light on the cable modem never lights up when connected to the router
    10)  This is very frustrating

I've tried two ethernet cables, no luck.  On the router, I get lights for Power, WLAN and the ethernet port that the pc is connected to.  The "internet" light is not lit.
When the modem is connected directly to pc the link is lit up, just not when it's connected to router.
The internet light won't turn on as you need to plug something on the WAN port. And that should be the cable coming from the modem.
When you connected your pc directly to the modem, do you get internet access?

  • Can't connect to router on different network ssh or http

    Hello,
I set up my router with one interface on my trusted network. I set it up on this network temporarily just for seting it up using interface 0/0. I then configured the other IP on my to-be DMZ giving interface 0/1 a IP address. (I don't have my public IP address, but when I get it 0/0 will be the internet facing port). I plug in 0/1 into my DMZ and left 0/0 plugged into my trusted network. (I am using a Firebox between the DMZ and trusted network).
I can ping both my 0/1 and 0/0 interfaces, I can conncet via http and ssh to my 0/0 IP, but I can not connect to my 0/1 IP with http (times out) or ssh (nothing on screen).
Can any one help me out with connecting for management to my other interface on my to-be DMZ subnet?
    Thanks,

  • Can't connect to router through airport (problem with encryption)

We have a small office network with several computers connected to a wireless router. A while back all the macs using airport suddenly were no longer able to connect to the internet (email still worked fine) while the windows computers on wireless and macs on lan still work fine.
The router is using WPA personal encryption, and when using this the macs can connect to the wireless network no problems, but then they aren't able to use the internet. as i said though email still works without any problems. We spoke to the tech support at our ISP but macs aren't very common in south africa, so they just suggest we change the encryption from WPA to WEP encryption. I tried both 64 bit and 128 bit but every time i get an error saying: There was an error joining airport network. If I turn off encryption though everything works fine and the macs are able to access the internet without any problems. Anybody have any ideas what might be wrong?

I am having the same problems since 3 days ago (Imac core 2 duo 20" 2,16). I think it was after the 10.4.10 upgrade.
I haven't tested if I can connect an open network (without encryption).
I can't connect to internet using the wifi network... sometimes, i can't even locate the SSID's network.
Even using windows xp with bootcamp i can't use the network, so it's really strange. This can only be firmware/hardware... cause XP on my mac was able to connect and now it can't too. I tried with other computers (notebook) and i can connect without problems.
Have you solved this issue ?
    Anyone can help?

  • Frustrated - Can't connect to router with laptop after disconnect, other devices work fine.

I have a RevI Actiontec router with dual antennas(not sure of firmware as I am not at home). My wife can be on her laptop all day, then when I come home with my IPad, it make her lose connection to the router. The router still connects to my iPhone 4 and iPad (both with iOS 6.0.1), but she is unable to connect to router at all. Everything continues to function normally on my Apple devices, so we are still connected to the internet. I have a laptop as well, and when this is happening, both of the laptops stop connecting, but the apple devices and our Toshiba TV and BluRay players continue to function normally. As a temp fix, I disconnect internet from my iPad and restart the router. It works until we try to run both at the same time.
I am mildly computer literate, though I know little about network setups beyond security, MAC filtering, and other slightly advanced setup stuff.
This is really frustrating and seems to be getting worse. We used it like this in our new house for several months before this started happening.

Also check to make sure neither of the devices are set to use a static IP address.

    Hi.
I have problem with my Linksys WRT54G v3.1 router. I can't connect to its admin interface and broadband Internet connection doesn't work.
The power LED is flashing. When I restart the router or unplug and plug it again, nothing happens. The power LED just continue to flash and I can't connect to the router. I even tried to put new firmware but program that I downloaded from linksys.com can't connect to the router.
When I enter http://192.168.1.1 into Firefox or Explorer, I get "Connecting to http://192.168.1.1..." and nothing else happens.
I hope that someone can help me because it's pretty annoying that my home network doesn't work...

Sounds like your router is bricked, flashing power LED is not good.  Contact the RMA department and explain whats going on.  Your router has the Linux operating system.  When you talk to them make sure you mention this and you want the same router as a replacement which is the WRT54GL.  If you dont specify that you want the same they will send you a version 6.  Then you are looking at more headaches.
In the RMA form you have to add "ONLY" to the version box on the RMA form. That's because most customers prefer the latest if they have it, and they try to accommodate as much as possible. Rarely is there a need for a specific version.

  • Can't connect to Configuration Manager Service manager

So after a failed upgrade to R2, I've had to restore the database as the R2 upgrade corrupted the DB.
I am now working though the minefield of component errors. However I can't connect to the configuration manager service manager, I get this error:
Error communicating with the specified Configuration Manager Site Server
So I have done a site reset and I still have the same issue.
I have tried several accounts, all with full permissions on the site server and in configuration manager.  I'm stumped now.
Anyone experienced this before and found a solution?

  • WRT150N v1.1: Can't connect through router, internet light isnt on

Recently there was a thunderstorm last week and it somehow shorted out my cable modem. (It was hooked up to a surge protector and still somehow got damaged..) The router seemed to be fine, however, after having replaced the modem, my desktop can't connect through to the internet nor my laptop on it's wifi. The internet only works when I direclty link the modem to my desktop/laptop.
I've tried unplugging the modem and router for 30 seconds then re-plugginging the modem, waiting for initialization, then booting up the router but i've found no luck in getting it working as it used to.. I searched up past posts, and the "Setting-Up a Linksys Router with Cable Internet Service" doesnt say what to do if the light for internet doesnt turn on.
Another odd thing the router does is that, for some reason, the 3rd port for ethernet is lit up when theres no cable in the port. I checked to see if the light would work in other ports when it was connected and it shows to work fine, just with the additional 3rd port constantly on.
I'm not sure if it helps, but after hooking up the router I pinged it and it responded with:

Anyone know how I can get this router working again?

Hm, i didn't see any change in anything after completing the steps.. I just had my cable/internet provider service technician come over and take a look at it. Basically, he told me the modem is probably fried somewhere and said I should invest in getting a new router. Surge protectors are apparently just a pretty name for "a good way to blow out multiple expensive devices." So now I'm out to get a wrt160N

  • IPad can't connect to router

    Hi,
I have a WRT320N router with firmware version 1.0.01 build 008.  I just got an iPad and while it can find my router, I can't access the WiFi when I enter my password.  I can use the router with my laptop so I know the connection and password are ok.
I've seen two administrators on here suggest the same thing.  And one person responded that it worked.  The identical directions were:
Try changing some advanced wireless settings on the router.
Connect the computer to the router with the Ethernet cable. Open the setup page of the router.
Click on wireless tab and set the configuration view to manual. Change the wireless channel to 11. Save the settings.
Go to wireless tab and click on Advanced wireless settings.
Change Beacon interval to 75, RTS threshold to 2307 and fragmentation threshold to 2306. Save the settings.
Try to connect to the wireless network again and see if that works.
    My problems are:
1 - I think my computer already is connected to the router with the Ethernet cable - I mean there is an Ethernet cable attached to both my computer and my router - in slot 1 on the router
2 - the only thing I know how to access is the Linksys EasyLink Advisor.  What and where is the setup page of the router?
Thanks - I'd hate to think that if I can't get my router to work, I just wasted the savings on a WiFi only iPad and instead will have to get one of those devices to attach to the iPad that allows you to connect to the internet wirelessly - like the "Clear" device.
    Solved!

Thanks gv.  I'm not so knowledgable as to change the LAN of my router.  So I did what you said, as a former colleague used to yell at us "read the **bleep** manual"
I was able to change the settings as suggested in the advanced wireless tab.  But, in the basic wireless settings tab, I don't have the option of channel 11.  What I have are:
    36
    40
    44
    48
    149
    153
    157
    161
And I can only change the channel if I select a channel width of 20MHz only.  My other option is 20MHz or 40MHz but that option does not allow channel selection, channel is set to auto instead.
I really appreciate any help I can get.  I'm quite the novice and get frustrated easily.  Thanks!

  • EA6900 Can't connect to Router error message from Linksys Smart Wifi

Hello Everyone, I am having an issue where I cannot remotely access my router. I currently have Charter as my ISP and have internet connectivity when at home. I can also access my router through Smart Wifi when on my local connection. When I try to access remotely I get the "Can't connect to the router" error message. I believe that I have enable the correct settings on my router to provide this service. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance. Mike Carlin

  • Can't connect to router over wired connection

I'm getting quite desperate now... :-(
I try to set up my Linksys WRT45G and I'm just not able to connect to the admin interface with a wired ethernet connection.
I checked all the forum answers and the tips on the homepage, but nothing helps.
My browser (and I tried severals under OS X and Windows XP) won't find the admin site. I tried all the set-up tools (following all the steps with still no results) and triple checked the connections. With my D-Link it works great and flawless (but the hardware sucks) but with the Linksys device it's an ongoing mysterium.
The SES button is lighted in orange and i believe that exactly this is blocking my connection. But I didn't manage to shut it down. Even reseting (by now for sure at least 100 times) won't help.
Can anybody give me a tip, what I should do differently? Thanks in advance.

first upgrade the firmware using the fttp utility  ftp.linksys.com/pub/network/tftp.exe
once that is done....enter the setup page of the router and under the wireless tab , go to the wireless security tab and disable SES.

  • Can't Connect to Router

Since I've upgraded to Leopard, I haven't been able to connect to my wireless network correctly. I have a MacBook and a D-Link router. It always worked fine before with Tiger-only it wouldn't connect automatically. Now, when I turn on the computer, it tries to connect to some other network in my neighborhood. When I tell it to connect to mine, it asks me for a username and password. I've tried to use admin as the username, or even just to leave it blank. The problem with that is that I only have a password-not a username. I can connect to it if I go through the Network Diagnostics-but then it will undo everything I set in there after I restart or come back from standby. Leopard also gives me errors when I try to connect to my Windows PCs. Beyond all of this, why won't it connect automatically, even if its told to do it?
    Thanks

Try the following if you performed an Upgrade (as opposed to either the Archive & Install or the Erase & Install methods) to Leopard, and you have established AirPort Preferred Networks:
    1. Delete Preferred Network(s)
    o System Preferences > Network > AirPort > Configure
o In the "By default, join:" pull-down menu, select "Preferred networks"
o Delete the network(s) you regularly use from the list
    2. Delete AirPort Keychain Entries
o Launch the "Keychain Access" application located in Applications/Utilties.
o Click on the "Kind" filter at the top, and look for any "AirPort network password" entries...and delete them.
o Restart, or log out then back in.
    3. Add Preferred Network(s)
    o System Preferences > Network > AirPort > Configure
o In the "By default, join:" pull-down menu, select "Preferred networks"
o Add the preferred network(s) using the "+" button.
o Restart or log out then back in.

  • Can't connect to router / Error says router uses ACLs which it doesn't

    Hi!
I'm having troubles connecting my MacBook (10.4.10) to my WLAN-Router (Siemens Gigaset SE551).
I switched from WEP to WPA encryption today and all windows machines work just fine, however my MacBook refuses to connect.
    The dialog says:
"The selected network uses an Access Control List to restrict access and this computer is not in the list.".
This is wrong. MAC Filtering is not enabled and the MacBook connects flawlessly using Bootcamp.
I already tried to clean up my network settings (no default entries, etc.) and updated the routers firmware. Nothing works.
    Any ideas?

It works under Bootcamp, so the router settings can't be the problem, right?
Well, no, Macs & Routers don't exactly agree on "standards", and most likely everybody's Router was tested or fixed to work with Windows® "standards"!
Yet I don't "think' that were the problem is yet. Most referemces to SSIDs are kept either in Keychain, or...
    /Users/nnnn/Library/Preferences/com.apple.internetconnect.plist
    /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/preferences.plist
    /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.airport.preferences.plist
With cross references used between them too!
Crazy Idea®... maybe try enabling ACL on the Router as a test with the mac's MAC in it?
