Can't connect to secured wifi

I got iPad retina about two months or so ago.
I have no problem using wifi when it doesn't require password, but whenever I'm using secured wifi it keeps saying "incorrect password". Which is funny cuz I'm using same ID and same password for my iPhone4 and macbook pro.
Anyone has same issue? what should I do?

Try forgetting the network option go over to wifi and on that list there should be your network net select the blue arrow and click thr option forget this network
Then try to reconnect.
Goodluck

  • Can't Connect to any WiFi network

I just got my iPhone yesterday and I'm already having a serious problem,I can't connect to any WiFi networks.
I can see the networks around me and I can select networks that I've setup and I know are open or I know the security passwords, I can even enter the network passwords for the ones that require them and it accepts them without complaint. When I select a network I get a little check mark next to that network which I assumes means it should be connected to that network. However, the iPhone never actually connects to them, i.e. no IP address, no router no nothing in the network settings screen for each network, and always appears to the using the Edge wireless network when accessing the internet.
I've tried DHCP and static IP but neither works.
I updated the phones software to 1.1.4, has anybody reported problems like this with this or any version of the software.
Any help would be much appriciated.
If I can't get this resolved today I'm returning to the AT&T store tonight for a new one.
    Thanks
    Matt S.

    theevilone,
I have personally used an iPhone with routers from D-Link, Netgear, Linksys, Apple and Belkin.
Some routers, regardless of manufacturer need to have their firmware updated. Generally speaking if you look at the release notes, the same updates that resolve issues with DHCP for game systems and PDAs, also resolves them for the iPhone.
In addition hardware or MAC address filtering can cause issues where you connect to the network and not get DHCP.
    Hope this helps,
    Nathan C.

  • Issues connecting to secure wifi

I haven't seen this specific problem mentioned. Here is my issue. I can no longer connect to secure wifi connections that request user name/passwords. For example, my husband and I have the same phone (Galaxy S4). Our gym is now offering free wifi but requires you to log in, when my husband connects his phone to the wifi it redirects him to an internet browser to log in; mine does not. My phone just scans for the wifi, says that it is "saved" but will never connect. I had the exact issue at a hotel over the weekend that required a password. This problem seemed to have started a few months ago. I can access open wifi and password accounts that I had set up previous to this problem starting. Any thoughts?

I haven't been able to enter the information in the first place. It scans, finds the wifi and then marks it as "saved". I never get a browser window to enter user/password. I tried manually going to a browser but that doesn't work either.

  • Can't connect to my Wifi

    Hello!
My iPod Touch 3g is giving me trouble. I can't connect to my Wifi-network at home. I've tried to restart both Ipod and Router. I've trided to rebooth wifi settings.
The wierd thing is that i can connect to the network when i remove the security password, i use the WPK security. But i don't want to have it open like that all the time, what can be worng?
    Thankful for help!
    /Glenn

Here's the encryption protocols that I know - WEP, WPA, WPA2. I'm not familiar with WPK.
When you set up your router WEP is the least preferred as it requires that limit your password characters based on the strength of encryption (5 characters, 48 bit; 13 characters, 128 bit). For WPA and WPA2 you have a choice between personnel and enterprise. Personnel is what you want for home use. You should also see the term PSK (pre-shared key) which just means that all devices use the same password.
Passwords on the touch are case sensitive so be sure considering that when typing.

  • Unable to connect to secure Wifi, password input was correct

I was unable to connect to secure Wifi, i ensured that i entered the correct password, i tried to reset my network setting and reconnect to secure Wifi but still unable to connect. However i can successfully connect to public wifi.

Hi Charlesjoseph - I struggled for days and tried all the solutions mentioned in various forums before I realised that the password (the WEP key number) is case sensitive. Once I tried it all in capitals it connected no problem. Doh!!

    Hello NotAppleSavy,
Thanks for the question. After reviewing your post, it sounds like the computer wont connect to networks. I see you have used network diagnostic. I would recommend that you read this article, there are a lot of other things you can do in this article that may be able to help you resolve or isolate the issue.

  • How can i connect ipad mini wifi celluar to 2g internet plan, how can i connect ipad mini wifi celluar to 2g internet plan

How can i connect ipad mini wifi+celluar to 2g internet plan

    Hello Sir!
After weeks of testing, i found the solution of my question. It´s quiet simply!!
1º iPhone (3G Internet acess) connected to Mac mini by USB or BlueTooth or WiFi.
2ª in Mac mini must be activated in "Preferencias", "Compartir", the option "Compartir Internet",
"Compartir Conexión desde":   iPhone USB  or  Bluetooth PAN
         "Con otros Ordenadores vía":  Ethernet
3º Ethernet cable must be connected from Mac mini to Time Capsule !!
4º In Time Capsule "Internet":  connect by:  DHCP
                                 "Network": bridged
    Nothing more!!!  Sooooo simply!!
After this, Windows XP SP3 connect without problem over TC´s WiFi or Ethernet to the Internet!
Also other Devices like IPad, or other iPhone, etc.
Of course it can be a created a WiFi connection (PPP) between the iPhone and the Mac
    and it´s working to.
But ALWAYS, by changing the connection mode, must be changed the Thethering mode.
    In- and Out-Going!
Thank you for your help, no I made me a "small" TC expert...lol

  • How come I can't connect to my wifi on my iPad?  My other think pads are connecting.  I reset all my settings and nothing.  We have a jet pack and I can connect to that?

I can't connect to our wifi.  All our other think pads are connected.  We have a jet pack and am able to connect...but why not our two think pads?  I reset my settings and still doesn't work?  Thx

Try rebooting the router. Whether or not it is working with other devices does not matter.

  • Can't connect to my wifi.  Err msg is incorrect password.  Could it be WPA vs. WEP?

Can't connect to my WiFi.  Msg is incorrect password.  I am typing it correctly!  All my other devices connect to my WiFi no problem.  My wireless router is WPA.  The only options on Apple TV menu is WEP.  Is this a problem?

    Yes, that is the problem.

  • Can't connect to my wifi it says ( a connection timeout occurred) !!

Can't connect to my wifi it says ( a connection timeout occurred) !!

Sometimes, but not all the time, network colision does happen. That may cause your "connection timed out" message.  It may also be caused by having too many devices hooked up and you are getting an ip address that's already being used.
If you know how to configure your netgear router, try to get into it's settings and see how many devices are actually hooked up and start taking some off that aren't being used.
Also, go to the wireless section of your router and see what channel it's on.  Usually defaults at channel 7.  Try changing that channel until you get a good connection with your MB.

can't connect ipad to wifi after upgrading to ios6

    Additional things to try.
Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi. (This is probably not practical in your situation.)
On your iPad go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset network settings and see if that enables you to connect.
If none of the above suggestions work, look at this link.

  • My iPod touch 5th generation will not connect to secure WiFi networks.

My 5th gen iPod touch will not connect to Secure wifi networks. It always says incorrect passcode. I have checked the passcode over and over again and I am sure it's correct. it's not just happening with my home network, also at work it never works. It is fine connecting to unsecure networks though. please help me.

Try the following to rule out a software problem:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Power off and then back on the router
    - Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
    - iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
    - Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
    - iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.
