Can't connect to sync.

I have this problem to add my device at Firefox sync. I had sync registerd on this computer, but i didn't have the possibility to add any other devices before my harddrive had a disk failure. When i then got a new harddrive installed i don't have any possibility to generate any recovery keys or the add device options.
Please help.

That's the problem.
I just got the Username and Password, but not any recovery key or sync key.
As I have understood, you actually need one device connected at this account to get a recovery key or sync key to connect a "new" device.
But what is the solution when you currently don't have ANY devices connected to your sync account?
Is all the information/data, that i have selected to sync, been uploaded to the Firefox Sync "cloud"?
or is it just "stored" on the "main" device you have sync connection on and all other devices paired will download from the "main" device?

  • ISync "Can't connect to sync server" error

    Hi all,
I had been using iSync with my Nokia N73 for a few months with no problems but now when I try to open iSync I get the following error message -
"SyncServices: Can't connect to the sync server: NSInvalidReceivePortException: connection went invalid while waiting for a reply ((null))"
I can't even get into the iSync menu to reset sync history or make any settings changes. I have tried reloading the program using Pacifist but get the same error. I am using iSync version 3.0 and Leopard 10.5.2.
The phone connects fine as a storage device and to transfer photos so the problem is not with the phone. Can anyone help?
    Thanks

What worked for me was, when you click on iSync from the Finder menu, go ahead and actually right click it instead of opening it. A menu opens and select duplicate iSync. It does just that. I then launched the iSync copy and it worked.

  • Can't connect to/sync using new Server setup

    Hi all,
I have set up a new Server and cannot seem to use it to sync, which is its purpose -- requests time out. I also cannot "Connect to server" from the Mac it resides on (suggested troubleshooting step someone gave me). Here's the background:
I'm a brand-new didn't-wannabe server administrator with OK but rather rusty technical knowledge.
I've set up Server in order to provide a local (non-Cloud-based) WebDAV sync server for OmniFocus as Apple in Yosemite (as I understand) removed the ability of 3rd party developers to use the OS's built-in WebDAV server to sync. So Apple stopped supporting the developer, the developer stopped supporting me, and here I am, doing the best I can, but I'm in over my head at the moment.
    Here's my system:
    MBA, mid-2011 / 4GB / 250 GB
HD with only 6GB free but I've gotten rid of the alert
    Mac OS X 10.10.2
    OS X Server 4.0.3
    OmniFocus for Mac 1.10.6
    iOS 6.1.6
    OmniFocus for iPhone 1.15.1
I changed defaults for both the long and the short names of the server, edited them in the server overview window (the changed short name didn't take!). In the Settings tab of same, nothing is checked, which I wonder about. In Access, at the moment out of desperation I'm allowing all users and all networks, and still no dice.
In File Sharing, I turned file sharing on, set up my sync folder and shared it (again, out of desperation) with all users and all networks.
In the log, besides a lot of (to my eyes) gobbledygook, I see something like the following lines which seem significant, every time I try to sync from OmniFocus, either on the Mac itself or on my iPhone:
Apr  6 12:44:35 [servername].local OmniFocus[1642]:  SecOSStatusWith error:[-34018] The operation couldn\u2019t be completed. (OSStatus error -34018 - Remote error : The operation couldn\u201a\304\364t be completed. (OSStatus error -34018 - client has neither application-identifier nor keychain-access-groups entitlements))
I can't find any documentation on the error codes.
Omni Group staff advised me to try connecting right from my Mac to the server also on the same Mac through Finder > Go > Connect to Server. If entering the server address (https://[servername].local), it times out in about 10 minutes in the same way OmniFocus does. In the same dialog, if I choose browse instead, I find that within the Server folder are aliases to both [servername] and [servername.local], and they both behave as if they were opening the very top level of my HD.
I'm at a loss for what to try next now, so would appreciate any sage advice.
    Thanks!

I'm also wondering, from somewhat similar problems I've read, if permanent IP addresses might make a difference?
At the moment our household router gets its IP via DHCP from our telco provider, and I believe it in turn provides DHCP IPs to the devices on our home network. As this is working fine at the moment and I remember the old "if it ain't broke" adage, I don't intend to try changing this setup unless someone with some experience tells me I ought to. But I thought I'd throw it out there.
All "Connect to Server" and sync attempts are still timing out and this is a work-critical application I need to get running, so any info that could point me in the right direction is appreciated. Even if it's some piece of documentation I need to read. Thanks.

  • Can't connect or sync iPod mini

We gave our kids our old iPod minis. They work fine and are still in great condition.  Not sure when we last synced them, but they will not connect to any Windows desktop or Mac laptop in our house.  I switched out the cable, reinstalled iTunes, tried accessing it from the device manager...pretty much everything on the various other posts suggested.
I don't know how to turn off the iPod nor put it in recovery mode.

I am having all the same trouble with my Nano. It was working beautifully until today, when I noticed that it was not showing up in the Itunes menu. Itunes says it's not connected, but my computer and it have a fine connection with power, etc. I have tried all of the steps, etc., and have had no luck. Now it will not let me restore it. I get a message saying that there are other applications using Ipod... but I have shutdown everything. I am just stumped. Any suggestions anyone?

  • How many iPAD 2 Touch 4th generation can be connected to the same computer?

How many iPAD 2 4th generation machines can to connected and sync to the SAME computer?

Just for clarification's sake, there is no "iPad 2 4th-generation". The iPad 2 is the second generation of iPads.
    Regards.

  • I have an original IPhone that can't connect to ITunes. I did a factory reset and restored to firmware version 3.1.3. Please note that both my ITouches (2nd and 3rd gen) sync to ITunes perfectly. However, the IPhone never connects. Thoughts?

OK, my original iphone has just completed a factory restore. It's connected to my laptop, and ITunes restored it to firmware 3.1.3. Now, I can't connect to the ITunes store. I get an error message every time stating connection timed out, or something to that effect. Well, both my IPod Touch 2nd gen and 3rd gen connect perfectly to ITunes, so I doubt it's related to proxy settings, firewalls, or anything of the sort (believe me, I've spend 15 hours researching this without an answer). So, is there a problem with the original iphone with version 3.1.3 syncing with ITunes version 10.5.1 (the most recent one)?
I would LOVE an answer as this is driving me crazy.
    Thanks.

Mine had a SIM in it. Originally, when I took out the SIM and tried to restore it with nothing in it, it wouldn't work without a SIM card. So ... I took the SIM that was in that phone previously, put it back in and completed the system restore. I then proceeded to go through the process with AT&T of adding a data plan, which I did, and then it successfully completed the system restore. However, now if I run diagnostics on it, it will not verify ITunes Store. If I try to connect to ITunes store, I'll get the network connection timed out error I referenced earlier in this thread. I'm considering jailbreaking it and putting on an earlier software version. Your thoughts?

  • Is it true on Mavericks the Calendar can no longer be synced when connecting directly?

Recently I noticed that since upgrading to Mavericks, my iPhone Calendar is no longer synced with my Computers Calendar.   I found some hint on the support site that this is a "feature"?  Is this true that the iPhone Calendar can no longer be synced when the iPhone is connected with my computer directly via USB or via WiFi?

    tosmyrd wrote:
This is what I found too. So this means there is no actual possibility to Sync Calendars without using iCloud?
I don't think the article states that as you describe it here.  I think instead the article says that iTunes is no longer the sync agent for your calendar.  iCloud is one of the possible alternate methods (and happens to be the one I use).  But there are very likely other ways to perform the sync, such as Outlook, Google, etc.  It all depends on the specific calendar account you use.

  • Can no longer WiFi Sync.  iTunes won't connect to devices.

Since downloading iOS 7 and iTunes 11.1.1 I can no longer WiFi Sync my iPhone5, iPad, or iPod.  Error message states, "iTunes could not connect to this device.  Could not allocate a resource."  What does this mean?  Never had a problem before.

I have the same problem  On the phone with Apple support over the course of a few days without a solution.

  • Since upgrade to IOS 10.9 and associated iTunes 11.1.3, I can no longer WiFi sync iPad (IOS 7.0.3) nor iPhone (IOS 6.1.3).  USB connection is required.  Formerly I could sync both devices without locating them physically (not necessarily charging).

I'm also affected by this bug in exactly the same way as you.
Some users have had success by closing iTunes, enetering (on OS 10.9) settings --> network --> edit locations, then create a new location with the same wifi/network settings. Then restarting iTunes.
Others have had some success by editing settings --> iCloud --> de-selecting keychain
neither of these fixes have worked for me.
It appears that the iPad can "see" iTunes running on my iMac because when I open settings --> general --> 'iTunes wifi sync', "sync now" is greyed out if iTunes is not running. When iTunes is started, "sync now" is enabled but just doesn't work. Nor does the iPad appear in iTunes.

  • HT4528 I can't seem to sync my iPhone with iTunes.  I keep getting this message:  iTunes could not connect to the iPhone because an error occurred while reading from this device.  What can I do?

I can't seem to sync my iPhone to my computer; I keep getting this message:  "iTunes could not connect to the iPhone because an error occurred while reading from this device."  I get the same message with my iPad, even though they all share the same account.  What can I do?

This could be caused by a USB connection issue. Make sure the iPhone is directly connected to the Mac using the USB cable it came with. Also, try disconnecting all other USB devices.
If you haven't already try resetting the iPhone by holding the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons until you see an Apple logo as described here:http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=305743
