Can't connect with my Macbook Air

Trying to make a connection between my Mac Mini and my new MacBook Air. In the finder I click on "connect as," the window opens "Enter your name and password..." which I do, correctly, but the window shakes no. I've ****** with the preferences on the MacBook Air, to the point of allowing everything, but when I click "connect" I get the same window shaking, telling me, "up your *** boy." Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Magnificent! Problem solved...   Isn't there a "this solved my problem" button somewhere??  Thanks and thanks again!

As long as it's USB, any one will work (If you're only using it for your Mac, then use Disk Utility to Partition it as GUID/HFS+).

  • Magic Mouse Can't connect to my Macbook Air mid 2013

    Hello,
    Can anyone help me please?
Well, I have Macbook Air 13 inch Mid 2013 and it is connected to the internet by thunderbolt to Ethernet cable, i have also iphone 6 plus and i'm sharing internet from my macbook, however, recent days it does not connect, i mean, when i'm sharing internet my magic mouse connects to the macbook and disconnects after 2-3 seconds. i tried to repair the  the disc from disk utilities, it started to work properly and then it stopped.  Now when i closed my wi-fi, magic mouse started working properly. when i open it and started internet sharing, it is closing...  Please help if you can )))

Since Bluetooth and wifi is on the same 2.4Ghz frequency, using both at the same time, with the wifi chip constantly on (when creating a wifi network)(whereas when using the wifi as a receiver, the wifi chip isn't stressed much), causes interference. It is "normal". It's just that the Bluetooth technology is not very smart. This issue was already seen 16 years ago, when bluetooth got introduced.

  • Can't Connect 4620L to Macbook Air NYC

This is my second sim and device, desperately looking for help to solve my connection issues with the 4620L and my macbook air.
I switched from AT&T to get verizon apple products and they are just not working well at all....
can someone send me the optimal settings for the 4620 please.
    thx

what exactly are the issues you are having?
Is it connecting to the WIFI and not the internet?
Is it not connecting to the WIFI, does it see the WIFI?
What version of the Mac OS X are you running?
Things of that nature.  That is, if you are indeed still having them.

  • Time Capsule woes -- Connection timeouts and can't connect with one Macbook

This is my second Time Capsule. Here's the scenario:
I have a Netopia 3347 DSL modem. That feeds into the Time Capsule in bridge mode. There is a MacBook (metal case), iBook (yes, it's old), two iphones, a color printer and an iPad that can all connect to the Time Capsule just fine. The problem is my MacBook can't connect. The offending computer is a 2.2Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo running SL 10.6.6. This computer can connect to the Netopia just fine, so I know its internal Airport works. After several go arounds with Apple tech support, I'm still nowhere.
    Here are the symptoms:
    1. I can see the TC's network SSID in the airport pull down menu. If I select the TC, a popup appears and asks for a password. If I enter the password, I'll get a connection timeout error.
    2. On the rare occasions where it does connect, I can't open a webpage. Network diagnostics has red dots for ISP Internet and Server
    3. On the even rarer occasions where it does connect, and I can access a webpage, it's unbearably slow, and the no-surf problem reappears after a few seconds. The red dots on the Network Diagnostics reappear.
Apple tech support was not helpful. I've power cycled everything a million times (and that doesn't explain why other computers can connect.) I know it's not my computer, because it can connect to the Netopia just fine.
    I am STUMPED.

  • Can I connect my new MacBook Air to my USB external hard drive?

Can any of the ports on a new MacBook Air (USB3 or thunderbolt) connect by cable to an external hard drive that's old-style USB?  Thanks!

Yes, the USB port is a combination USB2/USB3.  Should work fine.

  • Can I connect the new Macbook Air 11" to firewire 800 drive?

I have a fast Firewire 800 outboard Disk Drive [Oyen 1TB 2.5"] which works flawlessly with my iMac desktop.
Its portability makes it ideal for use with the new MacBook Air 11" [Lion], as a means of making all my data available while traveling.
Is there a way to interface the FW 800 port of the drive to the Thuderbolt port of the Air?
    Thanks,

Sonnet has announced a Thunderbolt to FW800 adapter, and Apple lists this adapter as a featured accessory for Thunderbolt. I called Sonnet and asked when it will be available, and they indicate the end of Sepetember. So, hopefully it's not "vaporware".
I will be probably purchasing one right away, since I have a couple of Firewire drives that I can then restore full-speed functionality.

  • What can I play with my Macbook Air?

Okay, so I just bought a refurb Macbook Air 13" mid 2011
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/FC965LL/A/refurbished-macbook-air-17ghz-dual-c ore-intel-core-i5
Anyway, what games will I be able to play from the App store,Steam,& bootcamp?
    I know this isn't "powerful" & whatnot,but I prefer Mac & It's what I got.....
As of now,I do not plan on buying anything else,so getting an upgrade to something better is out of the question for a while....Also can the RAM be upgraded & if so,how, and how much?
    Thanks.

    Thanks.
I Installed Perian and restart the Air, then it run...
This avoid me a lot of time to convert flv to other video formats

  • Hello how can I sync with my MacBook air apps that I have

Hi, How can I sync my apps form iphone 4 to my new MacBook Air

If you don't have Sync Apps selected under the Apps tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes, before doing so with your iPhone connected to iTunes - at the iTunes menu bar go to File and select Transfer Purchases From - the name of your iPhone. After confirming all apps on your iPhone are now in your iTunes library, under the Apps tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes select Sync Apps and make sure all apps on your iPhone are selected below followed by selecting Apply.

  • Can´t connect iphone to macbook air  using bluetooth

The bluetooth is on in both devices, they get connected for a few seconds, but then they go "not connected", i´m trying to use airdrop, but nothing i do seems to work.

The iPhone is not designed to pair via Bluetooth with a computer (Mac or Windows) except for personal hotspot and then only if your cellular plan supports it. AirDrop requires that Bluetooth be turned on for both devices but they do not pair. More information:

  • InFocus X2 Can't Connect with New MacBook Pro

I'm trying to use my old (but reliable) InFocus X2 projector with a new MacBook Pro I recently purchased. I have the correct adapter (mini-port), but the inFocus X2 is just not able to find the mac. It just shows "searching...."
The X2 projector shows up on my "Detect Displays" window on the Mac.
Any "words of wisdom?" I was able to connect to this projector with my two older macbooks okay.

Me three.  Does not work at all, extremely frustrating for an educator who relies heavily on this technology

  • Iphone 3 and 4 can't connect with wireless through air port

We purchased a new Time Capsule yesterday to replace one that stopped working.  We have been able to get the Air Port/network working for our Mac Books and iPads, but cannot access the wireless network on our iPhones (a 3 and a 4).  The wireless connection function on the phones show the network and shows a check mark next to the network, but does not switch to the wireless network from 3G.  We tried to 'forget the network' and sign in again, making sure we are on the WPA2.  Any other suggestions?   Tami

I had this happen to me yesterday.  I have a AirPort Extreme and my iPhone was unable to connect to the wireless network.
I tried everything from resetting the network settings on my iPhone, Hardbooting the iPhone,  and even changing the wireless password on my Wireless network and restarting the AirPort Extreme.  Nothing worked.
    However here is my solution:
Hardware restart.  I just unplugged the AE waited about 20 seconds and plugged it back in.  When it came back up ...My iPhone was able to connect to the network.
