Can't connect with security enabled

We want to have the strongest security available for our home's wireless network.
I have an iBook 500 dual usb, OS 10.4.8 with the original Airport card it came with. (Card firmware 9.52)
I also have a Airlink101 Mimo XR, model AR525W, 802.11G Wireless Router.
I easily get great wireless connections when no security is enabled with the iBook and Airlink. I can even connect way out in the street or even a few houses down.
However, when WPA2 Personal is set for the network, the iBook 500 will not connect. I get a message window stating, "The wireless network "Airlink" does not support the requested encryption method".
(My Mac Mini 1.66 Ghz, Core Duo has no problems connecting via Airport when the WPA2 Personal is enabled)
When I open internet connect on the iBook and choose "other" for the network,
I have the security choices listed below:

You're not doing anything wrong, as far as I can tell.
Your 5-year-old iBook is simply not WPA2-compatible. It takes AirPort Extreme technology to use WPA2. The original AirPort card can't manage it.

I have a T61 using Windows XP. The internal wireless card was factory installed and has not been upgraded.
My home Internet is Comcast high-speed.
When I take my laptop to a coffee shop, business or other location with a secure wireless network that requires a password, I have not been able to log on. I can see the wireless networks available and can click on the appropriate one, but I never get a window/pop-up box/screen in order to allow me to enter the wifi network's user name and password.
Is this a firewall issue, wireless card issue...or?
I can access unsecured wireless networks where a password is not needed.

One more thing to check: Is your Windows XP up to date? Older XP releases do not support the newer wireless encryption types which are now in common use (WPA, WPA2). Make sure you have SP3.

Connect to Azure SQL DB with Security Enabled Access required using SSMS

I'm looking to connect to an Azure SQL DB with Security Enabled Access required using SQL Server Management Studio 2014. I have tried checking off "Encrypt connection", but still errors out with "Cannot open database 'db name' on server 'hostname'
requested by the login. Access to the database is only allowed using a security-enabled connection string."

Hi Scott,
Sorry, I missunderstood your initial question and the documentation I referenced is not updated appropriately. You have to change the connection string to <server-name>.database.secure.windows.net when you enable the security/auditing features.

Loose wireless connection with security turned on

I am able to get a wireless connection when the wireless network has no security enabled. But when the security is turned on - using WEP or WPA (TKIP) - I can no longer get a connection. The error message says that the password is not correct (however it is).
Of note: I have another G4 (aluminum 1.33 GHz) running the same version of OS X that does not have a problem connecting with the security turned on.
I have the same problem at home or with other wireless networks that require passwords.
At home I have a linksys wireless router.

i have a very similar situation to yours... my airport cannont get an IP address from any wireless network with security enabled. if it is completely open, it will lock in and get an IP address and everything is fine, but with ANY kind of security enabled, it wont get an IP and gives me the standard "169...." addresses. If i turn off security on a given base station, the machine will suddenly get an IP address, so I know this is a problem with the machine and not the router as other wifi devices connect to the router fine.
I've tried using standard WEP, WPA, and also MAC-address security and i get the same problem across all of them. Ive tried this with about 5 different routers, 3 linksys, 1 netgear and one dLink.

The lister just stopped working...
I can TNSPing ok...I just can't connect with toad or sqlplus anymore from another computer..
I can connect with sqlplus on the same computer...just not from any other computers.

Here are some things to try:
Close itunes
Check your internet settings.
Control Panel – Internet Options – Advanced
Check SSL 3.0 and TLS 1.0
Uncheck “Check for server certificate revocation (requires restart)”
Click Apply
Click Okay
Open itunes and try again
And, you don't need to turn off the firewall, just add itunes and itunes helper to your security software firewall.

there are 2 recent posts that suggest issues over 5, one where someone was trying to troubleshoot for a friend or client as they couldn't keep more than 5 connected, and the other where somone had more than 5 but was using 2 separate itunes libraries to share the load - not sure if that was with the same or differing AppleIDs.
I guess there is always the possibility that things kight vary from one itunes version to the next even unintentionally to allow more.

And she is from Turkey. I talked to people from US, South Africa and other remote countries but I can't establish connection with Turkey! And i'm from Poland. Does Turkey block connection from Poland? She has the same problem. She can't connect only with me - she talks to people from all over the world expect me. Can you help me?

I want to create a system(Solman 4.0) in Portal.I have created a SAP system using dedicated application server and then I filled all necessary fields.I tested with using system connection test.There are two test nameS(SAP Web AS Connection and Connection test for Connectors)Firstly, I checked WAS Connection and everything was ok but when I tested "Connection Test for Connectors" it didn't work.When I clicked test button, it said "Connection failed. Make sure user mapping is set correctly and all connection properties are correct" but I didn't use UIDPW.I used the Logon Ticket method and system_type is SAP_CRM but when I checked log file, it said this message "(R3/BW) Failed to get connection. Please contact your admin".I didin't understand because I have already used SAP_CRM syte sytem type.Why do I get this message. When I try to create a controller using the Entity Framework with my model, I get an error message saying:
The ForeignKeyAttribute on property 'Id' on type ... is not valid. The navigation property 'aspnetusers' was not found on the dependent type ... The Name value should be a valid navigation property name.
If someone could help me solve the problem, I would be glad.

i can't log in to ichat due to the fact that I can't connect with aim. everytime i try to log in it gives an ichat connection alert saying that the connection to the host was unexpectedly lost. the weird thing is that it let me sign on the first time then all of the sudden it just clicked off, giving me that message.

I'm having the same problem.
I know this is an Apple forum, but is there anywhere that we can get info about AOL's servers (i.e., which regions are having trouble, etc)? I'm in France, and AOL seems to shut down at about 6:00pm every day. This is very frustrating, since the people i'm trying to talk to are in the US.
Edit: the firewall port solution doesn't work, either. It's AOL.
